Germaine: Teng's rash looks like pimples first.. see PD then.. PD tought was excema.. gave me some cream to apply.. but the problem is then teng was actually having shingles.. so steriod cream when applied to shingles rashes.. will flare. and that was how i knew he had shingles.. coz the next day, adter i applied so happily to the huge areas of 'pimples' , his groin area all flared up with blisters.

u get shingles only after u get chicken pox.. like what audrey said. it is caused by the same virus.. also known as herpes zoster.. while chicken pox is itchy and all over the body.. shingle is PAINFUL and the rash follows a linear pattern along the nerves .. the old folks call it 'sheng she (?)..snake"..

when we have chickenpox and recovered from it, the virus lies dormant in our nerves. and is suppressed.. should our immune system be low, or as audrey say, stressed.. the virus comes back in the form of shingles..VERY painful instead of itchy.. i was told by my best fren (she had shingles too) very painful.. an dpoor teng had to endure it coz when i preg , i had chicken pox. so he had the virus liao (and the immunity) but coz still very young, so not strong enough to supress it.. the virus came back. when he had a flu that time.. haiz.. so whenever teng is sick.. i get super duper worried.. cause i worry that his shingles will come back!! (it is so rare that 8 mths old (he was then) get shingles leh.. coz u need to get chicken pox first mah. which bb so suan dio so many times in the short 8 mths ah? but teng lor. once in tummy, once out of tummy. haiz. .so rare that the A & E doc wanted to take a picture of his rash for future educational purpose.. haiz!)

pimples ah? hmmm.. chances are yes leh.

darbebe: the MMR causing autism ah.. controversial leh. there are also many other reports saying tha tthe MMR is not related to autism.. coz autism.. means the brain is differently wired.. so technically a jab can't change the entire wiring of the brain mah..

she vomitted dunno how many x yesterday. this am bf also. then last night kept waking up, i have to put her on my bed. even then, have to keep patting her to zzz and hug hug. tiring siah... at one stage, she only wants to zzz on top of me!
 
So fast back to work today...heee, ah bien now sleeping in pram while here i am typing away at my workstation.

hey mummies, i started using the 1st teeth toothpaste liao. Issit too soon? Cos i worried abt tooth decay as ah bien now has 7 tooths and + he enjoyed the brushing. HB told me one of his client's daughter only 1 year old and alrdy hv tooth decay problem..so scary...

today is my bird-day.
but very unfortunately i am facing many unhappy things.

1. Hb just went back to KL, though he bought me a pattisear cake last night (star, u heard it? its not bad, tasty)
2. My handphone siao siao, just auto shut off and i cannot receive calls + sms anymore. sigh!
3. tian's nanny wants to stop taking care of tian end Feb. she said she is tired. apparently, no reasons given. Did not have time to talk to her this morning... see how is the discussion tonight.

so, I'm going to be busy again this week.

but i think the vomit is cos of the phlegm and cough.

everytime she coughs, she brings up her water, food, milk etc. yday i had to run home twice to change cos she vomitted on me

my hp is likes urs.. i think the battery is spoilt liao.. what miser did to 'revive' it was to put the battery in the freezer to make it recover leh. i know there's some myth on this. but apprently it works for me.. try it?

Astro, you are right. Alot of people have a misconception that MMR causes autism. But it is not medically proven. This article should be able to ease some parent's mindset.

below 1 year old we try not to give med.
anyway, we gave her panadol twice yesterday, and twice she vomitted out EVERYthing. including her food, not just the med. and we have to restrain her to give. so i just feed water.

SQ - My ger also has cough, runny nose for the past one week, even on & off fever for 3 days. Doctor said is becos she has lots of phlegm & maybe teething. She's better now after one week of medication.
And yes, the vomittings are due to the phlegm and cough. Actually, is good for her to vomit out as she'll vomit out some of the phlegm also.
 
QQ, hope you can sort things out with the nanny asap. We mummies realli hv alot of things to "chao xin".
