clever bb: i thnk generaly bb at this era is smart loh.. with all the vitamins we eating before they come out. but each bb diff personality diff teaching.. so all mummies don't stress k? ultimately we want bb to grow healthy and HAPPY.. rite?? jst don't get bully can liao...

see yee, i guess the reason to separate place for food and for play is just to prevent baby from getting confused btn feed time and play time. and also to avoid distraction from food. but if it works well for yr boy so far then it shld be ok.
astro, now i know why anthea wont crawl and has no intention to learn. coz whenever i put her on her belly, she wld cry. then i will pick her up. same thing when she cant reach wat she wants. she cries, i surrender

say when anthea wants a toy, then cried. then u bring the toy to her. tell her that she can get the toy by herself. Then u put the toy a bit further from her, not putting it to her hands. then u encourage her to pick up. (at least got pickup skills ma). next time when she cried, then place the toy near to her. she will pick. after a while, the when she crys then u ask her to pick up herself. how? we can help them sometimes, guide them. but when we confirm she has the ability then let them do it.

QQ, anthea is exactly like teng.. i tried yr method, move the toy nearer to her so that she can stretch and pick up. then i try to place it further and further everytime to a point when she tried and tried, cant reach and give up, dun try anymore. she is as guai lan as me, "dun give me? suan le lor, i dun take" kinda attitude.

edde: u guai lan huh??.. me also. in fact when teng first born.. my younger uncle came visit me in hosiptal.. straight away said teng got the 'guai lan' look.. takes after me! then i thought he teasing me onli. then the more i think.. the more it is ah!!! then kindermusik.. i posted the phots right? the one teng buay song..coz can't sleep.. exactly my look ah when i buay song ah!! alamak.. *faint*
see yee, i have seen toddlers who eat while playing. you imagine a toddler playing toys while the caregiver (usually the maid) holding on to a plate of food and waiting for the toddler to open his/her mouth to be fed. i think this is not a gd eating habit. so i am trying my best to foster gd habit with anthea. why i said "trying" coz i also give in to giving her toys when she refuses to eat. sigh... very hard to bring up a good child hor...

sometime, i don know y my son whenever i tried to pat him to sleep, he will keep on crying and even though he looks and feels tired, he still don want to sleep... he will make a big fuss and cry before sleeping...

<font color="aa00aa">wah alot of bb sick hor. Sighh... i am also a baby cos i am sick as well. hahah... Am on mc for coughing. In fact I have been cough since Sept and is intermittent. Dr suspect i have micro asthma and he said is a kind of bacteria which I might have got it from Clyde. Now Clyde starts to have cough too. sigh...

Clyde no longer sleep from 11pm to 7am. He starts to ask for milk at about 5am and get back to sleep again. So no undisturbed sleep for me.</font>

yup juz strap leia in high chair.
i also everytime put keira on high chair for every meal. dunno whether my MIL got or not, though. hmmmmm....
she also turn here n there, sometimes where feedin her, she can go lick the top. if not, rub her smeared face on the high chair.
then i will scold her, I will tell her, u notti gal, make mummy do extra work now, have to clean the cushion too!
if her mood is good, she will move her mouth to the spoon instead.

i strap also useless..how to feed when she move here and there, must be good in aiming at her mouth..so sometimes she sits on my mum's lap, my mum hold her hands to stop her from moving while i aim and feed...hahaha

TSY: bbs these age.. from the time they wake up.. abt 2 hour to 2 hour 15 mins max... they tired liao.. though they might not show signs.. put to them to bed.. u will be surprised.. they will KO in a minutes or two.. max ma 10mins.. theywill not shown signs unless they are very very tired lao.. but then cried till cannot make it.. very jialt one..
the reason i prefer teng to be in a roubtine.. is it removes the guesswork for me.. look at clock. ok nap time.. put teng on bed.. give cloth. sucks to sleep.. within 5 mintues..
the past two days.. he haywired.. coz very sick.. then all schedule also haywired.. end up i gues shere and there. fed up. he crying 'unnecessarily'.. to get to sleep.. coz over tired.. sian.
good to have a routine.. if u dun have one yet.. easier to keep track also.. any thiny haywired.. like no drinking well. or not eating.. or sleeping lesser and lesser.. u got records to check .. if everyhting is so random.. then how to check and anaylse..??.. gf or no gf.. seriosuly dones't matter.. just a predictable set of timings/patterns for the bb.. good for everyone..

Jo more fierce than M... 1st day Dr Ong saw her at TMC, she said chilli liao, bcos her screams can tear the whole nursery down! 
fierce right? she can crawl all over M and M, too mild tempered, jus sit there and "cry"... terrible right? now she's cruising, crawling, standing, climbing stairs like nobody's biz. even push the ikea stool and walk!!!! and she's not even 9mths! i think i'm getting astro vv edgy...

i agree no TV during meals... as far as possible, no toys, but then sometimes vv difficult. the most impt thing is to teach them that they must sit down in their chair at the dining table (if possible) during meal times. if we're out and no high chair available, i'll jus feed her in her stroller. at least she's not "running" ard.
TSY: actually rocking bb to sleep..yaolan.. all these is because bbs dun give clear signs when they are tired.. we want to put them down. but they screamed.. not because they are not tired lei.. they are too tired.. therefore can't go to sleep properly.. i know it's weird.. why hor? actually adults also.. too many things on our mind.. 'over stimulated'.. want to scream out loud liao..
the more we rock the bbs.. the more stimulated they are.. harder for them to sleep.. that;s why eventually they need to rock themselves to sleep.. coz that;s the only way that they have learned to go to sleep.. pacifier, suckling on breast.. etc.. they can also make up with more sleep in the day. audlts chaim lor.. but then again. when they wake up in the middle of the night.. when they should be sleeping. they are not getting enough sleep also.. like that also not good in the long run lah..

i just realised that i din give keira any toys when i feed her.
i only bring spoon, bowl and wet hanky.
nothin'else.
din even occur to me to give her toy when i feed her. LOL!
conclusion: Keira tam giak. coz after eating, still let her drink the remainder milk that i made to mix with her cereal. and hor, she will eat until the bowl is scrapped clean
