Astro: no leh.. i love MP.. its the only one that does not leak thru the nite.. i dun change her diaper one.. she wears 1 diaper from 8pm all the way to 7:30am the next morning.

astro: er pictures... i go dig my photo files.. maybe have.. hehe acually the all 4 position means like doggy position.. his arms straight, legs bend, pressure on knees and butt lifted up..understand? so when he is on tummy position, u help him by tucking in his legs/knees so that he can bend his legs and lift up his butt. Thats how i help rae too.
 
but if cos when i first started helping her, her leg very stiff, she dunno how to bend but recently, i see that she is grasping it liao.
 
Astro: Para 4 refers to "by the time your baby is 6-8mths old". So if I read the first and last para, the last para is referring to the "young babies" ie before before 8mths.

Astro: Have you shoed teng how to crawl? As in.. Have you gone down on all fours and crawled around for him to see? My maid and I do that to show anna last time..
 
astro, anthea's wt eh.. her PD did lotsa tests. he is the kind of gan jiong PDs who must put baby thru all the test to rule out any possibility. the other spectrum from Dr Low (i hv also visited Dr Low wrt anthea's wt prob).

our PD told us honestly that it has reached to a stage whereby he has done everything he cld but still cldnt find anything amiss. dats why he rec us to this gastro specialist in NUH. even the gastro cldnt find any source of prob and is puzzled.

so i direct the prob to God, hoping God can help her. maybe some things cant be solved by science. haha...

autum, i will be a very happy mummy if i were u... u r like my hubby, everything shun4 qi2 zi4 ran2.. in fact, when i told hubby why i bought cheerios, why i wanna enrol anthea in shichida, he said i siao, overly gan jiong...

Oh yes.. I want to share this.. I'm quite bad leh.. Cos everynight before I go to bed, baby would have been sleeping soundly. I will sometimes carry her up from her cot and hug and kiss her.. She will stir a little. And will continue to sleep while lying her head on my body. Then after I finish smelling her all over, I will put her down again and let her go back to sleep in her cot... I very bad hor..

Astro: I confuse you.. Yah, we're both the same..

astro, my hubby's belief is very diff from mine. he told me last time pple no shichida also very smart wat, so why need shichida. he wants anthea to hv a happy and stress free childhood, everyday play toys kind. he said i am falling into the trap of sending kids to classes. we debate over this issue many times and everytime i got fed up explaining to him. i believe in nurture while he believes in nature. it must be my occupational hazard lah.. but gd also lah, we balance the 2 schs of tots.

So next year we'll be colleagues! But I'll be part time one. Hope they like me enuff to convert me eventually. (Of cuz, I must like my job first too, whahaha) Aiyoh, my poor little girl got a pig trotter today. One of her feet must have been bitten by an insect and then got infected, red and swollen. Brought her to GP just now and got cream to put on it. She din show any discomfort though, still her usual notti self.

Re: day naps

It is quite bad, my MIL said my ger never slept beyond half hour each nap recently. Total amount of sleep is only one hour day nap. My MIL can barely do any housework cuz she also refused to be left alone. Sigh.

it;s like with kids these days. they cant be taught the same way as we were taught.. the digital divide.. the education jargon. think u hear it many times liao lah.

so it is also the same for parents now. we have more resources and inforation than our forefathers.. so with all these extra infromation.. comes more responsility. so i sometimes think of this dilemama also... we nevr attended shichida mah.. but also ok mah.. abd like what QQ posted.. her hb commented that she knows too much 'unnecessarily'.. hmm not really true in my opinon.

was thinkig abt this when getting dinner. as usual.. my usual introspection.. hmmm. i think because society is advancing.. so do the parenting concepts these days.. let's face it.. who doesn't want the best for their child? no matter u do it nature or nuture way.. it is stil. for the sake of the child lah.. it is when , in my opinoin agian.. , u have the info to improve a particular situation.. but not willing to take the effort to implement it because too "troublesome" for u.. me can't stand it..

Aiyah.. You got to show teng how to crawl lah.. Babies are very visual at this age.. That's why flashcards are a good way to catch their attention and teach them..
 
astro, i have a colleague who is trained in whole-brain education in MRC centre or something. she and her sis has a franchise in malaysia and she told me she can really see a diff in the students aft they have attended 2 yrs of lessons! she said the kids think logically and are very clear minded. i must say i am quite convinced.

like u said in this digital age, kids have shorter attention span and are more hands-on than book-mugging. so i hope shichida can help in training "focus".

i hv yet to convince my hubby.

star: i honestly dunno what i was thinking ab there. when i stated my salary preference.. coz i was just so hyped up over PBL that i actually stated a salary that was lower than what i was drawing .coz i serioulsy dun think i have the necessary qualifications to even step into RP lei.. so just thought maybe low starting pay can make them notice me?? :p heehee.. well they did! :p alamak.. now $5 increment.. headache.. i see how first :p

dunno whic website i read ah.. they say 20% more? or was it 2%? more.. alamak.. i honesetly hopeless on money issue.. let me tell u lah star.. i almost took up a job that will have me paycut by 40% before i applied for RP.. then suddenly i became rational and realise that is not going to support me and teng and miser one..!

Astro: ur sis never advise u on the range u should put ah? why u say u dun have the necessary qualifications.. u mean o get into RP need very high qualifications meh?
 
Star: I know only abt my industry and even then it's quite biased cos there's actually no way to find out and compare.

At each grade (ie graduate trainee, analyst, associate, VP, SVP, EVP, director, MD etc and different banks have different grading) I think there is a banding in the basic pay. The banding is wider at the more junior level and narrower at the top. There is also a ceiling in the basic for each grade. For a more junior position, when the absolute is lower, it's possible to get >100% increment when being poached (esp if one moves from a local to a foreign bank). But as one advances to a more senior level, the basic is higher and it may also have touched the ceiling, so the %tage increment gets smaller. However, the basic is not crucial, it's the bonus that really matters..

but if cos the percentage is subjective lah, imagime if u had a very high last pay which the poly cannot match, then u put in 20% or 30%, they will sure reject mah right?

star: like i say. i hopeless.. i dunno what i was thinking abt.. pls trust me..i really dunno what i was talking abt then.. for me the job must be something whichi want to do.. i once did a job survey lei.. given 100 career points.. to divide over some key citerions i ranked 'statisfaction' and 'happy working relationship' very high. and only gave 10 pts for salary lei.. so ya. so i am very blur with money one :p i didn't even know how much exactly i drew for my last drawn pay.. i just aga aga one. infact i quoted lower..:p
 
Astro: Yes, there'll always be junior positions created/required. Even between foreign banks, there is different "class". The top banks will have a graduate program and "cultivate" their own graduate-trainees. These will spend resources flying management around to interview potential candidates at ivy league schools in UK, US, China etc.. The mass recruiter of graduates will be the local banks. These local banks usually are a good training ground. Other banks with no graduate programme will have to poach juniors from the local banks..

bcos both my kids nap in yaolan at my mom's place and sleep well, esp M... if they r put into the yaolan at the vv instance that they r spotted to be tired, no issue at all. not overstimulated leh...
 


astro: i just remember reading ur post abt teng eating his egg shakers.. heheh actually nothing to worry about, i think its the rounded shape that makes the egg shaker looks delicious. rae also likes to lick her maracas.. and just that.. think it looks like a lollipop..thats why they will put in their mouth to taste test!
