Koh - no need, bt if u hv an NTUC insr policy, ur pkg I think is slightly cheaper by $30 or so. They did nt ask me to show docs to verify, then they also allow my hb to use the NTUC member's pkg price.

Bt my gf bought 2 sets of stuff frm Bkk las mth. Hee hee........ Wait till later then I will go buy bb stuff. Bt then seems like nothing much to buy leh, esp when my cot & pram already settled. the rest of the things are like diapers, mum's breast pads, maternity pads (or normal pads), bb wipes, wat else are more impt?

Oh, I will buy those Toyogo stacko & kip all these things. nt buying cabinets. Cheaper also.

ah ger, $388k for such a big house is cheap lei. Mine cost slightly lower than that for a 90sqm 4 room flat.

Ya, location is good and very convenient. Our unit facing the swimming pool somemore so price slightly higher. Luckily the house still maintain well so we spent only $6k for minor touch up.

ah ger, we might need the car quite soon as as my tummy get bigger getting difficult for me to take public transport to and fro JB every weekend. Plus our Msia car very lok kok liao so need to dispose off fast fast. Ya, do share with me more details of Honda Jazz if u have. Btw, u know how much will be the upfront payment?

is still building .. i think completion is end of 07
i also think is small small ..
but as a start should be ok ba ..

Ah ger..Oh yup..forgot about my stuff like nursing stuff..still got a lot to buy leh..

I save a lot on baby clothes..but my friend will spend a whole lot of money dressing up her girl..after 3 boys, she really excited about her girl..she can afford lah..her hb is an army officer. For me, I find it a blessing already to get passed down baby clothes, good condition some more..
 
Jas - that unit I can't rem the blk number, bt I know it's near the Bt Batok food centre.

Jas - I mentioned on 1 of the abv posts to Mag. tat is wat I heard base on hb's calculation lah. I'll ask BIL on City for u tis wkend.

CK - I think 3 kids in 3R flat is very pack leh....... nwadays all the bedrms are so small. They all arh, get dbl decker beds lor, or else all just stack together & slp. Ha ha ha.... *joke*
 
Charis - normally those who hv gals will spend a bomb, esp we r women, we also get fascinated by girly & pinky stuff!

Gig gave us a list tat time, did u all print out? I saved it in my PC though, if u need, I will just post here again.

Oh Ck..u were saying yr mum did yr ROM dress..wah, lovely..she's very talented. Where was the venue of yr ROM again? U didnt have a wedding customery dinner?
 
i agree that the diff bet 4rm & 5 rm is not big.

kinda regret getting my 5rm cos the s&c fees are so exp , if got rebate,most of the time 5rm dont get much lor

the reason for getting this flat is partly becos of near my mum place. if next time change flat, will get one near my in law.

3 room flat - actually one of my friend got a resale 3rm and she reno until very nice. its very cosy,but the only problem is the space constraint lah. if next time got bb , then abit difficult.

Saphira, so u are from kl! Where is the forest? The other time we took our outdoor in JB- Kota Tinggi waterfall, a small forest and a remote area with a big pool and a big stone near my hubby's old place.

my in law lives in a 3rm flat..my hb kinda hate squeezing with his other two bros in a room. he says no privacy and if want to do homework in peace also difficult. Thats y during his teenage yrs, he rather stay out then stay at home.

I understand..my hb's cousin also same..was planning a wedding, then discovered his wife preggie, n she had bad morning sickness, so wedding cancelled..she jus delivered a baby girl last month.

But..u are officially married! It was a lovely ROM! Not doing a dinner, u saved quite a lot of money also.

Charis - I think nt all photo galleries allow sharing more than 1 album at one shot. So happen tat Kodak does.

Stella - yes, tats wat mum told us - dun get big flats cos our JW flat is 5rm, then all the fees are more exp (cos HDB feels 5rm owners are rich!) Unless they hv 4 bedrms then I wouldn't hv mind getting one the las time.

Actually ur ROM alone is gd enuff cos u hv a celebration &amp; etc, infact no pt having a customary again, it's already publicly known. Maybe nx time u can tell ur mum lor. Save the $$ for bb's use instead.

For me, I told hb, I def want a wedd banquet, so I dun wanna ruin everything. When close to wedd, ha ha ha, we were even more cautious. Imagine u c my WG, hw to wear if I m preggie?
 
Ck..Oh so u doing the customary..its ok lah..Im sure yr parents n ILs happy that at least have the customary..

My hb n I wanted to jus do ROM first, cos we had a lot of problems on my parents' side..we were under a lot of stress..then dinner a few months later..but my ILs flipped! So give in to their demands lor..we booked our ROM much earlier..but the dinner was booked only 2 months before! SUper rushed..but the team at Furama very good, settled everything for us..but we had to do the wedding inserts ourselves, n the gifts, u know the admin stuff..nobody really helped us..n was a tough time for us..I dont know why my ILs was so insensititve then..

My church wedding was a breeze..cos my youth n church aunties handled everything..I only did some bridal party stuff, like the bridesmaid hair n wrist bands..also the flower baskets..Later this afternoon u may get to see the photos..
 
Charis, u can choose "Public" option for the album you want to share. Then u send the link to us. Of cos, if other people got the link they will be able to view also. alternatively, u share that particular album by email to invited viewers, but then if u have a few albums then u need to invite via a few emails.
 
In Msia better. House big big with garden and cheap too. Our JB house has 4 bedrooms and 1 maid's room. 3 of the rooms got attached bathroom. Build up area is about 2200 sq feet. And we have a small garden besides the house. And the whole estate is gated and guarded. We need access card to go in and out of the housing estate. For visitors, they need to give either their ic or driving licence at the guard house. it's very quiet too and we really enjoy our stay each time we go back on weekend.
 
Wah seems like all ur parents wanted the customary. My side, mum said jolly well take the $$ go &amp; spend on HM &amp; etc, cos waste of their time, then have to put up a show &amp; etc for the wedd.

I wanted to do so initially, bt then I m afraid tat I will regret NT wearing a WG, nor walking dwn the aisle enjoying the Once In a Lifetime thing, so I told hb, I changed my decision. Hence we went ahead w/ all the wedd preps. &amp; I m glad I din regret. If I hv a choice to go back to the past, I will still opt for a wedd dinner. I wanna hv a feel of those preps excitement again. Whenever I watch my wedd video, I will still laugh @ myself. Ha ha ha, it's so memorable.

My hb's ex-coll, they ROM then was posted to overseas to wk, then when they came back, they hv a bb already. Then the wife wanted so much to wear a WG, so they went to take wedd pics, bt of cos /w their kid along then they hv quan jia gu.

I also like Nissan March. It's so cute! But more suitable for lady drivers, i guess. Dunno about the petrol consumption.
 
Ah ger..Ya, having a wedding is fun..I had pleasant memories of my ROM esp..cos a whole lot of ppl tagged along for our outdoor shoot in Fort Canning..haha.

Saphira..Thanks for the pics..they r right..u dont look chinese..u look very interesting..u must be mixed..U look like a 'forest fairy'..so enchanting..

unless i wanna utilise the reno saving for wedding .. but i dun feel save using all marnee on just one nite ..
and most likely all expenses will be by me and hubby ..
my ROM plus my mini ROM honeyroom (BKK&amp;pattaya) and rings and stuff .. cost 7k liao le ..
come and think of it ..is the marnee that make the whole event look nice .. ha ha ..

The new Latio is not as bad as the previous models of Nissan Sunny. Even the current sunny is more fuel efficient then the older model (i know cos both the old and current model)

As its the new model of Engine and new technology had been implemented in it since renault merger with nissan (i think) 3 yrs back.. However if you have a heavy left foot, then fuel consumption of every car will be just as high. keke

keke mine is the bright sunshine yellow.. it brightens up my day

Ah Ger, I dun like Nissan cars, and hb also prefer suzuki swift, so if I am getting a car for myself, prob it will be this. It is ok to be tight behind cos this will be my personal car, just to drive to work and back home. Hb will still continue to drive but will need to change the current 2-door to 4 door to accomodate baby seat. BUT, I will only be able to afford a car on my own if I dun need to get a maid, so its just talking only now.

Do u think it's wise for me to invest in a car especially since my work is still in Guangzhou and I probably will come back after ML?

I enquired about rental but for a 1.6, they quoted 900/month. I thought that would cover the monthly instal and stuff already.

Super bo hua... moreoever, my dad is expecting me to look for a job and work back in sg.

Have any of you booked your post natal massage yet? There are so many recommendations i dunno who to choose...

Stella - car seat - nt getting tat yet cos when bb's young, we will carry, as he gets older, we will borrow frm BIL whose sons r 5 - 6yrs old already.

changing mat arh - my mum doesnt' use tat leh, just put on the bed can le. Bb mittens all these, can prob take frm my niece. Then sarong arh, mum doesn't like bb to slp in tat leh........

Cherry - supporting 2 cars will b very tedious leh...... bt of cos if u can afford it then ok lah.

Gig - hb has a coll, is the old 4 rm flat then only 3 bedrms. 1 bedrm is a study rm also a MJ rm, then the other is a playrm. Left w/ MBR, the 1st gal slps w/ them, bt I wonder where the maid slps. Cos tat time when we went to their hse, we dun c a bed leh, so maybe the maid uses mattress instead then folds it up when she wake up. Bt it's very messy lor.

Mag - if u invest in a car nw, u hv a liability. Whereas if u just rent a car, if u r gng back to Guangzhou to wk, then @ least you can just push teh car back to the rental Co. If u own a car, even when u r in GZ, ur exp here is still tied up.

Since ur dad wants u to find a job bac in Sin, bt it's nt cfm yet, so wait till u cfm getting a job here already then u start looking for a car. By then u may also stand an advantage tat car prices may hv gone further dwn.

If by then u cme back, then in the meantime while waiting for ur new car's arrival, u can rent car on daily/ wkly or mthly basis 1st lor.

Ah Ger, its not safe to travel without babyseat. It is very impt, also need to train kids from young to sit in babyseat if not, very hard to do that later when they are older. In UK, the parents are not allowed to leave hospital if the car does not have a babyseat. As for having 2 cars, it will be a toil on our income that's why it is either having maid or another car. My hb leaves office very late, if I dun drive, then by the time we reach home, baby will be asleep already, no chance to bond with baby. So, we just have to cut from our expenditure to have another car.
