karen p,
i can ans ur qn!!!!! hehehehe...
mandy chews v well n has been taking meat slices (not even minced or ground) since like 2 mths back? n she eats pears/apples/plums just lidat for many mths liao. BUT, since she started calling mama n papa since she was 8mth old (?), she still can ONLY call mama n papa. no other consonants n vowels at all. so, definitely NO CORRELATION! hehehehe....
alabone,
aiyooooooooooo..... if u ask me hor, i get most o my inspirations/recipes fr ppl like dora, doggie etc. sometimes anyhow hamtum, sometimes read books/internet, sometimes kpo kpo other bbs' food lor. hehehehe.... i'm sahm lah, so easier to experiment. plus mandy doesn't haf much prob w textures, like i can even stir fry chix n capsicum slices 4 her... so ya, it makes e job much easier.
but like i said hor, in e beginning super disheartening one hor. i will xin xue lai chao serve a new dish only 2 c her wail at e 1st mouthful or overturning e whole plate....
sometimes wanna cry one... until i din dare to try anything new. until i tot e situation was getting outta hand. so i read up n w/in one week, 'revolutionised' (wah! liks so dua dai zi lidat!) e whole toddler mealtime tingy n made myself stick to it. ya, basically, i just blabbered a whole history.......
*sings* "revolution's coming...."
sylk,
aiyo. y u say u overindulged. u alone over there w her, already doing such a gd job! must gif urself a pat on ur back!
lyricist,
ur twins r so grown up now n sooooooo cute! just 2 let u noe i love reading ur blog! so well written.
i tink q a few o us haf started e self feeding tingy. mandy is beginning to get e idea tt mealtimes means she has to feed herself (tho i'm nt v patient so i stuff food into her mouth in b/w her tries). she can't scoop v well yet. aiyo, u haf twins hor, i can imagine e mess when self feeding starts. *shudder*
lil/serene/alabone/fizz,
ya... agree w dora. our kids haf been having food strikes since e longest time. mine was since she's 8 mths. n only now den i c some improvement. n she's getting more n more active n is still happy n healthy. so erm, just know tt it'll pass n it's common n normal.
i tink e mistake i made was serving her any old how mix n match food until she got so fed up. another big mistake is i kept making her eat even when she din wan to, n resorted to distracting/bribing etc. so her attitude 2wards mealtime was not correct. she din view it as a time 4 eating, just wanna b entertained n was impatient n frustrated when she cldn't get wat she wanted. but i've managed to change tt so u can too!
