guessed i was more concerned over the cake design than the size. and 1 fren commented tt the cake size does not matter as not required to give big pc to each one. anyway 2 late 2 do anything since they delivered the cake 2 me. they were late but luckily it was shortly aft my party started.
u guess wat? i vomitted 4 times at 2 am tt morning n had diarrhoea at 7am. thot this time die liao, party will sure b cancelled becoz of me... so worried. quickly went 2 c doc n he concluded i had stomach flu. wat a day 2 fall sick!

hey, R is still wearing this set of 5 carters rompers tt he wore since NB until NOW!!! haha, its amazing coz he shld hv grown by 30cm now yet still can fit into the rompers nicely. not tight nor stretching. those rompers were a good deal!

Check with you, yours is Costa Sands chalet is it? How many guests did you manage to accomodate? My impression is it is quite small. I booked the pasir ris one (also Costa Sands) and wondering if there will be enough space for about 30 over people to move comfortably.

Mummies, regarding PG Cake:
- My order stated collection time at 5pm. I reached at 5.10pm and was waiting for them to settle the case before me. Apparently, they couldn't find the cake for the couple before me and the man was blowing at his top.
- When is my turn, they searched very long... Finally came down and told me "still working on the cake, not ready yet, need to wait another 15 mins". My heart already sank.
- I really got a shock when I firstly saw the cake. Called my hb who was waiting in the car with the 2 gals (they were sleeping) if he could come over for a short while. He saw and asked "you sure this is 3kg? Too small, not enough..."
- Ok, Chan Yun din inform me that 3kg is for 40-45pax. The other time I liased with Li Keow, she told me 3kg enough for 80 pax. Jolene's cake was left abt 1/4. And since this round, I only invite relatives and a few friends, I sticked to the 3kg order. Whatever it is, the cake is "saved" by another 1kg black forest cake that I bought off the shelf once I saw the "3kg cake" (I guessed older generation dun like the taste, they said not nice. But younger generation are ok with it.)
- I was disgusted with the customer service by the aunties at the counter. Somehow, I knew something will turn out bad cos I read many bad comments at other threads. So, to play safe, I printed out my emails and my cake design to bring along. The older auntie was there laughing sarcastic. I was angry and I told her off. She quickly kept quiet.
- The cake size aside, since the party is over, I'm not going to say much on this. The most disappointment is the cake design. No doubt the cake still looks good and sweet to me and the guests... But pls dun promised something if they couldn't do it. Before I made the order with PG. I purposely ordered a Smiling Orchid cake with the pooh garden picnic theme to take pics and I emailed to PG and asked, if they could do this design before I switched my order from Smiling Orchid to PG. I'm not asking for the same exact design but something similar. I already told myself I dun expect PG can do the exact design. But, the problem is, where's the design? They just throw every figurines that I gave them onto Jaslyn's cake. Pls tell me, w/o a river, they put a bridge there for what? Ok, Chan Yun said she would get chef to add a river at the "1". The time was already 5.50pm leh and I'm still at PG, and my catering coming at 6pm.(my venue at Jurong East). I already dun have time, and my hb speeded to reach the venue at 6.15pm. My guests falling in at 7pm, I dun even have time to do deco.
- I told Chan Yun over the phone that I dun want the cake to be "tall". Already told her I wanted a "flat" cake, easier for cutting. But still turn out to be "tall".
There's a number of cakes collected on sat, all the same designs. Maybe figurines and cream color are different. So, every kid has the same cake design. There's another mummy had the same encounter like mine on Sat. She posted her dismay in the "1 Year Birthday Celebration" thread too.
Like what ethel mentioned in the other thread. If PG can't create same design, just copy. PG can't even re-do their own cake design. I emailed them a few pics at different angle of the Smiling Orchid cake hor.

I should have get Smiling Orchid to do the cake, they include the figurines and delivery - $210 only. Then I no need to rush like mad on that day and carried so much stuff. Luckily my sis volunteered for the balloon collection at Raffles City.
Anyway the party turned out great, in the way of "wen xin" with well wishes from relatives and friends. I never put in so much effort for the past celebrations for Jolene and Jaslyn leh. I really wanna do a good job this time cos it's going to be the last one for me.
You know why cake size matters to me? Once, there's a party, the host cut a small miserable cake for all guests and ended leftover with a big cake. Relatives were talking behind the back. Reflects bad mah, so since then, my mum told us "if you want to invite ppl, make sure you feed them to full with good food and cake. Ppl will only remember bad things". My cousin's son 1st mth shower, she invited 70 pax but ordered 30 pax food. Before guests came in, the buffet were empty and worse they din give out full mth package. So guests came and have nothing to eat and left empty handed. My cousin and cousin in law hide inside the room dun dare to come out to meet the guests. It has been 4 years ago and ppl still talking behind their back. So... we scare mah.

I must said thumbs up for them! Super excellent service and great food! That's made my disappointment from PG to a happy mood kekeke... But hor, I think I over-ordered the food cos many of my relatives rushed off for wedding dinner. Anyway, I usually ordered more for relatives to tabao back kekeke...
The staff set up the buffet slow, but in a very orderly manner, set up were nice, at least not the typical setup. 1st time I came across catering who provided boxes for us to tabao wor, and a lot. They even cleaned up the venue for us, and drove away all the trash bags. Oh yes, they provide a lot of utensils, ended a lot of unused one. I even bought extra, all gotta bring back.

Anyway wats over is over. at least our party turned out fine. I was happy coz my stomach flu miraculously disappeared once i reached the venue place n started wif my decorations.
overall am v pleased wif everything. cant wait to see the photos.

i went to PG last month to pass them the figurine and paid a $50 deposit also
they could not fit in delivery schedule so i will self collect at that day itself but with a very packed schedule as well
i really dun have the time to wait like u did at PG
the moment i read ur post on ur disappoinment with PG, then i turned to my hubby with a grave face and said i got bad news this time. hubby also read comments and started to have 2nd thoughts like me
i am one who cant stand it if anything goes wrong, especially if its such an impt thing like the birthday cake
thats why i will spend more $ to buy something that is better quality and cust svc

Jenny, dont be upset.. if I didnt see ur intended design hor, Jaslyn's PG cake really looks nice. BUT, PG's service, as u described, sucks. Cannot locate cake lah, figurine lah, cake not ready at time of collection lah.. all these are enough to stop ppl from getting fr them. Give urself a pat for all the effort! I suppose the ice buffet food must have been a big consolation for u.. must recommend me those nice dishes ok.. may also want to borrow ur card for discount.. can boh?

Delphine and bbgrace, think my younger twin is even smaller size. He can still wear some of his 0-6mth clothes leh. I no longer let him wear rompers cos he looks really small in them.. always let him wear bigger t-shirt so that he looks almost the same size as his gor gor. haha..

I oni book for a day, check in at 3pm on actual day and next day morn check out leow. Check in so late where got time to do up decor.. so decided to save the $ for food. Now i headache over the amt of bbs' items that I need to bring to chalet.

Your collection is in evening? If so, I suggest you change the time to afternoon. In case, the cake is not up to your expectations, you still have time to react.
I wanna PG to delivery but they can't, so no choice, I have to drag my 2 gals with all my stuff to PG. Was in mad rush tat day, so when they said not ready yet, I really dunno wat to do. Precisely lor... maybe some mummies dunno why I'm so upset. Until one sees what's the them design I asked PG to do. I think anyone will be as upset and disappointed with PG if they were me. I considered myself very "qing cai" liao leh, if they can't even satisfy this "qing cai" customer like me, I think they are going to get into deep trouble one day. I could have rejected the cake and asked them to redo the whole cake and sent to my party venue tat day. But I dun want to make it look so ugly. Thats why I just bought another cake off the shelf. They dun even bother or give me the cake as compliment hor hahaha... I tell hb wait long long wor.
Oh, I din choose the dishes leh. Eatzi Gourment already have the menu "fixed". I chose the international buffet, $15 per head menu. Let me know if you need my card #, wavied off the transport fees.

dun worry. CY is still the smallest bb. for a guy, he can still wear his 3mth rompers as shirts. i've recently spent quite a bit on clothes for him, coz i gathered that he can wear them for quite long, so quite worth it...
like jlyn, i avoid letting him wear rompers without trousers now...

Ok side track a bit... this one I got to PRAISE PG hor. Their oneh oneh is really good. My relatives all love them and asked can tabao home or not. Even my bro who dun eat such stuff said is very nice.

but the party venue quite near to PG also so if i go earlier to collect then will make double trip and baby sleeping around the 11am timing
i will make another trip to the shop to let them know my expectation and to spot check whether my figurines are still safe and sound at the shop

tricia cake was from PG. the cake taste is nice (according to my guests). but the cake design, maybe i did not say clearly, was quite simple. just the 3 pooh friends figurines & the pooh candle, i did say that the figurines will be pooh & friends and the lady said that they will help to design. that day, the lady was still attending to other customers, and on the invoice, she did not indicate anything that say a pooh theme.
just felt that the artistic charge not worth paying. cos they are supposed to help me think of the design.
but then, it's not the cake that make me so angry.
i was v ANGRY with my uncles, aunt & cousins. told them that's it @ 5pm, which i expected them to be late. in the end, they came almost @ 8pm!!! not only this, my cousins who has promised that they will come, did not turn up. i have ordered for their share. in the end, i have so much excess left... being my elders, i still cant tell them off, i purposelly tell them that i ordered for their kids portion which they promised to come, but did not turn up eventually.
feel so pai seh, cos my friends who have come ard 5 - 5.30pm, need to leave by 7 plus, so i hurriedly cut the cake w/o waiting for them. or else i will excess of the cake again...

hope u both "siao qi" by now liaoz... before this hor, i was still thinking if nobody can make A's cake, i was going to go back to PG as a "backup solution" leh... but after seeing ur stories... im very reluctant to liaoz... e reason why i still go n search n search for other bakers - only partial of e reason was cos PG cant do mickey mouse.. e other reason was i'm not "shuang" with e kind of "service attitude" i received from 'them'... (i.e. e person most of u all liasing with)..
i even thought of "pretending" to be a new customer and contact li keow directly to make my cake if worse come to worse i have to go back to PG....
