Lucida, cannot wear underwire one leh.. cause hor.. will kindoff block milk ducts one.. or hinder breastfeeding (lower supply).. can't rem is which one already

Hi dsiitan,
Ya, better be careful lor. In fact I've not been feeling well for a few days liao, but yesterday suddenly got fever. Luckily my mum can help take care of bb for me. Hubby took half day leave also to accompany me today.

Think I'm over-tired. Dunno y suddenly bb wants milk twice a night!! Normally, she can sleep thru & wakes up only in the morn. Then yesterday nite, my hubby took over feeding while I rest, bb sleep thru the night!! So unfair. I think bb likes to bully mummy.

hi lucida,

shld wear bra at all times... even sleeping if not, will sag...

stephie is right... will cause milk ducts to block... will be painful if wear underwire. sportbra is best n comfy... good to use at home. gog out, best to use nursing bra... easier to nurse if u want...

mummies
me now so giddy.. last nite fever hit up to 39 degree.. wah piang, can die man.. now see computer also groggy..

wah, seems like bb can sleep so long before the next feed.. My boy si bei chun one.. every 3hrs sure up for feed.. heard can train them to sleep longer??

Re: routine

In my son's first month, he didnt have a routine. And he was having great difficulty in sleeping at night. Once I worked at establishing a routine for him, he could sleep much better.

Morning: Wakes up / feed him / rest for half hour / shower / then morning nap

Afternoon: Wake up for food / play for a while / short nap

Evening: I do not let him sleep beyond 4 pm as it might interferes with his bedtime. In the evening, I would bring him for a short walk to enjoy the breeze, if there is any. Then I would clean him and put on his pyjamas.

Gradually at about 6 pm everyday, he would be tired. I would give him milk then he will be sleeping liao.

Remember, not to put the baby down when he's too tired. I try not to excite him too much in the night. The house is quiet and we talk in low tones. I try to get him to sleep before 7 pm.

Now, he's sleeping for six hours straight. Sometimes, he sleeps for 8 hours. To me, it's good enough because he's only about 3 months old.

I hope this helps

Hi YB, your baby so kuai. Mine always wake up twice
sad.gif
If fact 3 times as he feeds at around 12am, 2am and 5am!! Yesterday was better, he did not wake up at 2am.

What time is the last feed you feed your baby at night?

I agree with you. When hubby is around my baby always more kuai.

Hi Fruitee,
U take medication? I'm also down with fever since yesterday, but now better liao. Anyone helping u to look after bb? My bb is at my mum's plc now. It's best to have good rest.

My mum claimed she can make bb sleep thru the night. She said she'll help me train my bb by stayin at her plc for the whole of next week. I'll c if it's successful then I'll let u all know.

Take care!!

Hi missk, I also feed my baby around 7pm. He can sleep for 4 to 5 hours now. But after this, wakes up every 2 to 3 hours. Soemtimes he feed at 8 or 9pm but he will still wakes up at 12 or 1am.
Anyway, will try to keep him busy at late noon (the problem is I will also need to be busy as need to entertain him )and see if better.

Hi Lucida,
Actually, we have not established a routine yet. Last time, her last feed is 10pm - 11pm cos she'll cry for a few hours till late night & we need to keep feeding her till she doze off. But good thing is she'll only wake up at 7am for her next feeding.

But now, after giving her Infacol for her colic, she'll doze off at about 8pm-9pm. So her last feed is around 7pm. But sometimes, she'll still wake up after sleeping for 30mins. Then we need to feed her again at about 9pm-10pm. But she'll cry for milk again at 3am, then 7am again. I really dunno wat she wants.

Think it's a trade-off lor...she cries lesser now but will wake up twice in the night for feeding...sigh...

Think I need to fix a routine liao...cos I'm now feeding her on demand.

hi mummies,
my bb also no routine, everytime i thought some sort of routine is forming, he will prove me wrong!
anybody with experience pls share with me ur secret. i will be so grateful.
pple tell me only have routine when they start solids cos they can stay full longer. that will be 4th month onwards rt?

hi me also want bb to sleep thru the nite le... my CL was telling me that they can be trained too. i ask her how she say when bb wakes up just give them plain water ( cheat them).. after awhile they will just sleep thru. I want to try this method but it will seem so bad not telling them drink milk when hungry.

Re: sleeping thru the night

Initially I was very concernend when my son would sleep through the night. I guess after he has reached a certain weight and age, it will come naturally. Of cos, setting a routine is extremely important. I do not allow my son to cry to sleep. There are some people who use that method.

For me, I know that my son is ready to sleep for longer hours when he woke up at 2 am every night. Slowly, I reduced his milk intake at that hour. Gradually, he began to sleep for longer hours. Sometimes, the baby wakes up in the middle of the night not to feed. It could just be his routine. Well, try out and see!

My friend told me if want to pump more milk have to roll the nipple between fingers to stimulate let down effect. Just tried and it did produce more milk but for awhile. Have to stimulate again. Massage in-between pump also helps.

YB
Yah.. took medication liao.. but still like unwell ley..
Thanks.. must let me know ley.. my boy will wake up like 3am & 6am for feeds.. haiz..

Missk
Thanks.. I will try.. maybe get my mum to try first since he is now at my mum's place.

Oh when my son was about 1 month, I started him on a schedule. 2 weeks later, I began to observe his sleeping habits at night. I realised that he kept waking up at the same time. I read a few articles which talked about decreasing his milk intake at night. Thus, I decided to try it. When he was about 10 weeks old, he bagan to sleep longer hours at night.

I guess his age is a big factor. When the bb is more mature metabolically, he will be ready to sleep through the night.

Till now, my bb is not sleeping thru the night. He still wakes up for one feed.

Some babies still wake up in the night for feeds. It really depends on the baby. I guess we cant force them to sleep thru the night when they are not ready. We have no choice but to wake up and feed then.

yeah, i agree wif missk. I guess our babies will sleep thru the nite when they r ready. tat's why everynite i pray tat it will happen.

fruitee

my son also wakes around the same time as yours..
when is the last feed you gave him and what time he wakes up in the morning?

Hi Alvina, Thanks for the recommendation. Will check the stores this saturday. Book appointment for facial.

Hi dsii and mummies, I'm sure you all had a fabulous time. Hope be able to join you all next round when I'm more confident in bringing baby out.

Ya. I have the same question as white_lady as planning to perm and highlight hair this sunday. In fact, can I take seafood (i.e. mussells, crab) and raw food (i.e. sashimi) or even medium done beef?

i already dyed my hair.. nv read frm anywhere say cannot dye when breastfeed leh, seafd also no prob. wat i know is just eat as per normal, dun overeat on a particular food jiu ok. i already eat crab n prawns. raw food i;m not too sure though

lucida
yes..we had fun!!! very funny mummies...we all quite realc loh..like know each other for long time...nobody will know we 1st time meeting..hahaha...YES!! u must join us ah!!!

wondering how I can free myself from being tied down by baby.. I think this is the worst nightmare I ever have. I need to get out!! People say having baby couple will feel closer. Not to be mistaken, my hubby helps alot in housework and take care of baby when he's back. But, truly, we seldom talk now as we are too tired. I dun feel like talking too. Now he needs to go Australia for a week. And I need to be at home looking after baby. My mum comes over in the morning to help make breakfast for me but she needs to work so she cannot stay. MIL (not working) will sometimes drop by and say "now you know taking care baby is not easy business" - when did I ever say it's easy. Wanted to follow hubby but no one take care baby (dun think MIL will agree to look after baby for a week). Then I started to weep and go to bed. Hubby knows that I'm crying but somehow he fall asleep. So now I'm awake pumping milk and wondering why I have to live such a life and how I get into such a stage.

somehow I just feel why I want to follow the "Singaporean way of life" - get married, have kids then the family is complete. What makes people think that have kids that family is complete.

Flu just comes and goes throughout the day for the past 2 weeks. Eyes like panda and face looks haggard. No wonder they say after have baby will become "huang lian po".

Need go sleep. Maybe tomorrow wake up this is just a dream.

Lucida - Breast sagging? Ya, like misaryeo said, must wear bra every day, heavy mah. With regards to weight...haiz, me still far away from pre-PG....so chiam!

YB & Fruitee - Har...sayang-sayang, sending u lots of quick healing vibes!

Alvina - Sports bra ah? When pump, need to take out... a little kang kor leh. But, true-true, its so comfy. I wore it during PG.

missk & YB - Thanks for the info. When can we start ah? Wah...if can establish a routine ( a longer timing one) will be so much better for me.

Gathering:
Its so nice to see the ppl I have been chatting with via the WWW. Put a face to the name
happy.gif
It was so fun...is like we have known each other for ages...

Lucida, try Bravado bras... I would say good support and easy for breast feeding also.. different from tradditional clip bras...

As for baby wise.. trust me.. now u may regret and all those but when u see them start walking and call you mummy, its so much fun and satisfaction...

I have 3... and trust me, my two elder ones drive me crazy.. my 2nd girl just started walking and house is already noisy enough cause 1st one will be screaming for 2nd one to chase after him... can't imagine if 3rd one starts to walk.. aiyo..

Today my regular just brough his dog over for me to look after till sunday and my girl was chasing her all around with unsteady steps calling "dog dog dog".... lol.. very cute.. I dunno whether want to laugh or cry..

Nursing Bra

Haha, I use the cheapo type 1, sagging oso dunno how.

Dye HAir

I 1 day after baby full month, cut and highlight liao, cannot tahan. It wun affect breastfeeding.

Food

I oreadi started eatin prawns but I think raw food better dun eat bcoz wat u eat is wat baby will drink oso, sometimes raw food might contain bacteria so i dun think its advisable.

GATHERING

Hehe, its fun bcoz we can exchange lots of info. Then share ideas and experiences as well. Of course the food as well, aiyo, like dat how to lose weight? :p

It seems like we have known each other for ages, we should have more of this gatherings!

we havent decide where the gathering will be held..but hor...one of the places we'll venture is CHANGI AIRPORT!! hahaha...

Haiz...another sleepless nite liao! My boy do not want to sleep ~ cry - suckle - FM - cry....haiz!!! So, told dh...see lah, over-stimulation (dh brought son to the living room and PIL kept on shocking him with all those silly games) at 11pm. Haiz....
