Re: cc

Dropped my boy this morning at CC. He has settled down since day 7 that is yesterday. However i plan to withdraw him from cc as during his first 5 days in sch, he has injured himself 4 times already and all these injuries led to bleeding..

sighhh.. wonder shld i cont since he is ok there now. But the dedication of teachers seems not there.

Angeline,
I am reading the two Terrific Toddler books that I mentioned before. It is Christian based but dont have heavy religious content. I like them because of the practical tips they offer...not just theory and it is very easy to read. Also include practical tips when you have no. 2 or no. 3. One important point - it is good to arrange a one-to-one full dedication time to your child preferably in the morning. Just 15-30 min a day of full dedication to her, talk to her and play with her and she will feel much contented to go through the day's routines. Her craving for attention is satisfied (a big chunk of it). I tried that with G and it works. She suddenly stopped being overly clingy. But with C case, like you said, time heals...It will probably take more patient for a while but it is worth that investment. Eg. probably will be difficult for this week coz you need to implement it but with the effort, next week on wil be better. (this is also one of the message sent by the author in implementing new routine or cultivating good habits and character building).

This page have some tips - I havent really read them. Just spot it on their website.

lyn,
wow baby J? power! i cant bring myself to think of no 4 now. hee hee 3 enough for me unless one day i win toto
happy.gif

same here lor, i'm still carrying Fiona every day. i'm giving her all the attention until the day i give birth. so every weekend until i give birth, as far as i can, i'll still plan to bring them to some fun places to enjoy themselves.

Good Morning Mummies!

Wow! All the soup recipes sound really yummy! And very inspiring too! Hehe..hopefully I'll sustain and won't revert to my chapalang cooking.
happy.gif

Lyn,
You are amazing! Three kids and the amount of things you do...really commendable. Good Job! I've only one and not doing anything much for myself and already panting!

Re: Stranger shy
My ger would bury her head in my chest or if she's standing, she'd hide between my legs. Just yesterday, we boarded this really crowded bus. On her left, this kind-looking machik was trying to be friendly and my ger just turned to her right...worse, this burly-looking uncle! She immediately buried her head in my bosom, taking sneaky peeks occasionally the entire journey. Are you tods also like that?

Vivi,
What sort of injuries are they? Could it be because certain hazardous area in the cc? Cos during my ger's cc orientation, i noticed the toilet floor was wet and at the entrance this step which my ger had difficulty going down. I highlighted these to the teacher and she takes extra care to help my ger down the step and mop dry the floor more often.

tinklebell,
My hubby wants 5. hahaha... Probably the most is 4. See how... In the beginning when the twins arrive, I was very negative.. Was wondering what on earth am I doing giving birth to 2 more and all the tiredness :p. Now, things are settled down, and it's a breeze already.
Towards the end of the pregnancy, I only bring A for classes. Even going to classes, I only sit at a corner to watch. Cos very heavy. At home, I will lie down in bed and spend time with A on the bed. Read on the bed, play on the bed.

calliope,
When I do housework, I felt very emotionally imbalance and angry. Cos my time cost more than getting a maid to do all the chores. I can spend the time playing with A and preparing materials for him.

Good morning!

Congrats to mspiggy & kisbb 8) Hearing all these good news brightens up the day.

Lyn: I'm not sure what 10th grade represents....can check with my mum's maid over the weekend.

Re: Sneaking out
I've done this a few times despite disapproval of it. There was once I told him I'm going out and will be back in a while, but he kept crying and I had to go. In the end he cried for almost an hour. So both mil/hub complain & nag. Mil all the more said v confidently that not letting them know/see me going off is right. I was so pissed. TOld hub, if you don't teach him to send us out/wave us bye-bye, then he'll never learn.

Just yesterday morning, ER was awake when i went to work. When I left, he clinged on to me & refused to let me go. Then mil pulled him off from me and walked back into the house. Pissed me off again. Told ER bye bye and he waved back smiling.

Calliope: My boy is also like this. When got more people, he'll want to be carried & refuse to walk. He's scared of Indians, esp males, must be carried when he spots 1 in near vacinity. When we go to pump petrol, he's very afraid of the man who help to pump petrol. He'll burst into tears and struggle out of his car seat when he sees him approaching our car. Anyone of your tods behaving the same way?

toto,

my mum says give her chance. Moreover her contract is due this year. So my mum say dun change.

Will send her off after her contract expires. She is looking to go off too cos she plans to get married after she goes back to Indonesia.

vivi - aiyoh... maybe u do a check on he surroundings n highlight to them.
did the teachers says how he fell?

rodeo/calliope - Zav is "overfrenly" sort... he will say "hi/bye" to any strangers he see. sometimes even comment on "gor gor go sch... jie jie hv barney bag" i try to limit him to just "hi/bye" dun wan to be overly "kpo" as dunno other pple will like it or not. some parents saw zav "talking" abt their kids, will give a dagger stare. dunno wat for also. :p

lyn,
aaron asked me recently when is no 4 coming? he wants a "didi"... dont know how to answer him :p wow yr hubby wants 5? Admire him
happy.gif

rodeo,
Fiona is also scared of men. she cries when they stare at her or try to play with her.

mtdt,

the area looks ok.

They said that he fell down while playing. The other time, he was standing on a chair and lookin for me, and just fell down and suffered a big black bruise on the eye area. Sigh. What makes me even crossed is that the teacher was juz sitting opp of my son.

i can understand that its impossible to jagar all students but then cant help feeling vexed and sad after seeing the injuries on my boy.

lyn,
wow.. 5 kids!
happy.gif
recently my crazy hubby asks if we can have 1 more?! he said Wes seems very lonely.

my reply is very simple... wait till #2 arrives then we talk more! hahahaa

MTDT,
Z is very cute! being friendly is good.
happy.gif

VV, i think falling down in school is unavoidable. yesterday J fell at the playground while playing catching with his frens, luckily he fell onto the patch of grass. teacher said after he fell down, he quickly picked himself up and then continue to play.

think this wk alone, he fell down 3 times. once he tripped in class, fell and bit his lips. on another occassion, he was playing 'catch the mouse' and feel on the floor flat. a bruise on his forehead.

think little accidents cant be prevented, these will make him a more careful boy... maybe you can give D more time? think he did really well, given it's only Day 7 and he has already settled in?

VV - i also noticed D is more active and garang, he is very adventurous and is always very keen to try new things. at this age, our tots do not know what is dangerous and what is not. over time, they will learn - as long as the injury is not too substantial, it's a good learning experience. maybe you can tell the teacher to watch out for him more, given his outgoing nature? what's the ratio at D's cc like?

Ladies,
do you still do flash cards for your tod? i know lyn is still doing.

am thinking of starting for wes now... do you think it's too late? coz hope to start for #2 too.

toto,

i agreed with you. Dave and i also think that my boy is active and once he is playing, he dun care about anything . Ke ke

Ya will highlight to the teacher abt it if i want to continue.

Also, i find that D's has become more agitated and loner ever since he starts cc. Dunno why. Easily cried. Now he dun even want anyone to kiss him except my hb n i.

dunno y. Ratio is like 1:8.

The teachers are like not enthu n engaging. Somemore restless like that. Sigh..

Vivi,
I agree with toto on telling the teacher about your boy's nature. My ger is the opposite. She's very unsteady easily toppled sort, hence also very injury-prone. I also told her teacher to keep a look out more on her. I feel safety and hygiene most important. Other things i can keep one eye close.

MTDT
Your boy's so friendly! My ger would also comment on people's bags/things but only from afar lah. When they near her, she's just hide her face. Alamak!

rodeo,
Last time, my mum also like your MIL. Asked me to go out without him seeing and knowing. I did that once and I had a super cranky and clingy boy for the next one week! Then I insisted that I wanna say goodbye everytime I go out. The first 2 times he will only cry a little. After that, it's fine already. I have gained trust from A
happy.gif
Now, he will wave goodbye to me and friend kiss
happy.gif

A is also afraid of indian man! I dunno why... I never scare him or anything. Unless someone did and I dunno...

vivi,
Aiyo... so heartache leh... especially when he says "pain pain". Sayang sayang Davian...

tinklebell,
Wah... Aaron asks for "didi" ah...
I dare not think of having no.4 now man... Just about to enjoy being "light" and free again. hahaha... The past few months has been very tiring and heavy.

My boy likes to hug ppl especially gals.

how to refrain him from hugging ah esp strangers.

He hor also likes to point on their clothings and say in his baby language and ended with mei mei

then the gals very afraid and run away. some even complain to their mummy abt my boy touching them.. heehee..

sometimes his action is too fast for me to stop him from doing it.

vivi,
so mean for them to think he's irriating!

btw, are you following shichida or GD methods? am thinking to figure out more now.

lyn,
i can imagine the "heaviness" in u during the past few mths. i'm feeling so heavy now... couldnt walk for long without getting swollen legs. last sat i wanted to bring the kids to the zoo but in the end changed my mind bec that will involve a lot of walking.

vivi,
Davian keeps hurting himself? maybe he's a bit more active than the other kids in the cc.

lyn,
replied your mail liao.

Yes, i will correct her and make her repeat after me. Must encourage them to speak out loud more cos they tend to be the more quiet kind of ppl. For her learning speed, i will say better than a indo bah ( i got indo before, a few yrs back). But need to drill into their our speed of life cos they can be very slow!
And yes, you must decide who is the "trainer" cos it gets very confusing if she have to listen to your mum style then your style again. So better discuss with your mum first.
The other plus point is myanmar maids dun ask for hp, they usually write letters or call home once in a long while.

Er, i am not sure if you wan to eat burmese food. I have a burmese fren who came to SG since she is 16, told me that burmese dun eat steam fish! Their fish all fried one, their rice is those who with little water till hard kind...So best is to teach her our style and let her get used to it.

vivi - i agree. i also scare pple find him irrating. some will give dagger stares! so uncall for.

Mspiggy - ya, agree. never too late... and do for 2 at one shot best! both can learn together
happy.gif

Lyn,
missed your post abt Standard 10. Standard 10 finish secondary sch, but not our O level standard yet.

When you see biodata, you must see those graduated ones. There are some biodata that state bachelor in XXX...but it means they have not complete the degree yet and want to stop to come out to work. So must ask and check carefully.

Mum2b

haha..i love drink soup but i not a good cook + i lazy to cook.haha..tink for cooking must ask those experts liao...normally i gave soup + rice + other dishes from the table tts suitable for them to eat..like fish? meat etc..Celest very greedy type..will point to those dishes tt she wants to try..she can recognise 'fish' dishes..everytime will say 'fish fish' n point to it...

sunflower,

D says thank u.

Ya. Most likely will be sending him to 3hrly playgrp instead or half day cc.

But will be in jurong west area so that my mum/mil can help in sending and picking D up.

vivi,
Davian is so cute... Hugs and kisses to your friendly boy...

tinklebell,
I seldom go out unneccessarily in the last two months. But still go out a lot :p Else will be going out everyday lor... kekeke... Now thinking, after confinement how to go out and go where. hahaha...
Oo... better dun go to the zoo. It gonna be super tiring. Last two months, even I go out, I must find somewhere to sit, else I will be panting. I can be carrying A for a while till I really "buay tahan" immediately kind. Then in the final week, I could not even sit properly in the car! Cos my tummy was very low.

Ivy,
I called an agent who supply Myanmar maids. Tok to him for an hour yesterday! He also said they will learn faster than indon. I am seriously considering Myanmar maids now. I need someone who can learn fast, dun expect them to know everything immediately. The agent also told me gotta write down for them initially. Their written understanding of English is 60%.
Oh I see... The agent told me he got his own training centers in Myanmar. They do learn cooking there. And he also supply Myanmar maids to other agents here.
Will be calling more agents to chat and compare
happy.gif

hmm.. You mean those that states University or degree, not graduates?

vivi, mtdt,
Just take it that those who stare are those without kids lor... Or they are not friendly people and their kids also will not be friendly...
happy.gif
You both are very out-going and friendly, so your kids will be too
happy.gif
I think I not friendly enough leh.. cos A not as friendly as Zav and Dav :p Must learn from you both.
There's once I met a taxi driver. I asked A if he poo poo. That driver immediately said the taxi stink! And want us to wind down the window and switch off the air-con the whole journey man... When I reached home and check, A did not poo! Geesh...

angeline,
Dunno eh... Later going to see gynae to remove stitches.. maybe will ask him about contraception :p

Schoolhse by the bay...

Am goin to visit them again with a fren n her gal tomorrow.... hahaha.... i managed to convince my fren to put her gal there too... now is like 3 frens in the same class... and waiting for Pauline's Kelly to join.. hohoh...

By the way ar... Schoolhse by the bay got soem cases of HFMD too... hmmm... how huh?

Lyn,

Please share with me after finding out abt Myanmar maids ok... am now doin without a maid... but in the long run i still need one soon... but i will take my own sweet time to source...

If anyone heard of any good maid for trf, please let me know

lyn - hahaha. i will brush off those incident lah. they are usu adults wtih kids. then like so offended tat my boy "say" something abt their kids. but not even bad comments.. he only goes "gorgor go sch, or jie jie got barney bag" etc.

anyway, also good to teach Zav not to comment on pple. currently he only will "say" kids... but think dun wan him to go on n comment on adults. maybe sound rude next time. :p stay with "hi/bye" or monning auntie etc will do.
happy.gif

btw U also v frenly mah. hahaha
