Will be good if I can find a PT job, but hard to find leh.. my girl is still sleeping at 1-2 am every night.. yeah.. my hubby gian gian play with her non stop everynight, say he cant get enough of her.. he is the one who ends up being super tired cos he has to work the next day.. and yes you are right.. we have no time left to ourselves after Amanda sleeps.. we will sleep immediately too..

Tiffany,

Just remembered that the GD maths book is still with me.. kept forgetting to bring it along.. will bring it along to botanical gardens? Can sms or MSN me to remind b4 the day comes? Cos my memory is really bad these days...

Oh ya hor... OK, thanks. Will remind you prior to our gathering. Hope i remember too.

Hi ladies, I'm pretty new in this April 2006 MTB forum. I always hang out in the BP forum. I read from the thread and I gathered most of the ladies in here who can meet up for gatherings are mostly SAHM. Good for u guys. I think I still hvn't gathered up the courage to be one yet. Contemplating to be one once my baby turns 18 mths n will start her at playgroup, then I will start on a part time basis. But I saw this Gymboree trial class that you all had organized. I was pretty interested and I told my husband abt it. He was like "What? Baby is still so young! Sned her to this kind of class is only but a waste of $$!" This also happened to one of my friends. I was rather interested in joining you guys for the class. Did anyone of you here also received the same comments from hubby? I don't want my baby to keep cooping up at home n play ard with tht few toysn would rather want her to has more exposure and interaction with other babies. I guess all mums are like tht.

Hi pentupmum,

Brought my girl to one of the trial classes at BabiesnCream, both my hubby and I decided not to go ahead with these classes for now.. but have decided to place her in half day or full day child care when she turns 18 months.. so she can learn and interact with other kids..

RE: Childcare centres

Have any of you checked out those childcare centres yet? Was at AAMK Hub yesterday, checked out Little Skool House.. not too bad.. about 600+ after subsidy..

Heard any comments about NTUC childcare?

Nope. Not yet, as my baby will only turn 1 this April. I had spoken to my hubby about putting baby in playgrp. Then he was telling me during his days, he didn't attend nursery, only kindergarden. N' it's not necessary to put children into playgroup. I am keeping a lookout at those playgroups ard my estate. But meanwhile, I just dun want my baby to coop at home. Just a thot, you ladies organize the botanical garden trip, n how did u go abt settling the baby's food? I would assume tht our babies at this age cannot take any adults' food. I tried to bring my baby out and each time, hv to rush back home for her porridge as she doesn't like to take cereal.

Yap.. thanks all.

Looking high n low for permanent position n tix one, I really pray tat i can embark with success as it is a different scope of work altogether.

For mommies looking for jobs or permanent openings
Don't give up... we preserve and keep each other in prayers. = )

Hi pentupmum,

You may wish to bring along the porridge in a thermal flask. If it is inconvenient, perhaps just give your girl jar food, very convenient to bring along. My girl used to reject cereal too.. so i switched from healthy times cereal to frisocreme.. and she likes it.. mainly cos it is more tasty as it is sweet.. if she gets sick of it, I will add in some yogurt, rusks or cut fruits and she will normally finish her cereal

RE: CC
Have check a few near by my house. Found that the cheapest is NTUC..around $400 after subsidies. The rest around S$500 - S$600. But heard that some CC have a long long waiting list, if really want to send our little to cc, must registered early.

Amanda in her Arsenal Soccer jersey outfit.. looks totally like a boy.. my hubby insisted on her wearing it out yesterday and the poor girl perspired like a waterfall...

hunnie,
Yes, intend to send her this coming October, hopefully she will behave, dont give me more trouble by then.
For NTUC, have to check whether the got vacancy or not, cos they have long waiting list, the pro is just next to my block. I hav registered since last year (very kia su hor).

The rest of cc a bit far for me and more expensive too.

Hunniepot, your amanda looks cute in the jersey. I realized that even if you let ur girl wear a sleeveless blouse, she will still be perspiring. Bringing my baby to the baby doc. soon again for her next jab. Just don't understand, since few months back, her weight is still ard 7.5 kg. No down no up. Really worrying. Anyway, most girls at this age looks like boys. Just imagine when my girl goes out in a dress, ppl can say "Aiyoh .. what a handsome boy!" U will be aghast by the comments tht they make. Sometimes it really makes u wonder whether do they pass such compliments for the sake of pleasing others or .. wear dress and they still can comment handsome boy.

Hi pentupmum,

Yeah! We even got ticked off by this auntie at the muslim food stall near my place for letting her wear the jersey in this hot weather..

I try to let her wear hair clips and she does look like a girl but she will always take it off once she discovers that she is wearing it

Not to worry about the stagnating weight.. my girl was weighing ard 8.6 kg for many months until I increased her solids intake

Mrs Ho,

Thanks for the info, think I better be KS too... will check out the premises this weekend liao..

haha, let me post my ger in her Man U jersey.. i got it from manchester united.. so expensive 20 over GBP.. then now cannot wear liao.. only wear once, and cuz she perspire so much, and so many pp says she looks like a boy.. i never let her wear anymore..

here she is

PentUPMum, some of us are not SAHM but we make time to meet up with each other so our darlings can have playmates as they grow
happy.gif

If you have time over weekends or some of the weekdays you may feel free to join us. You can start by joining us for the botanic garden trip.

Porridge, every weekend i will cook for 2 meals (lunch & dinner then put in the tiger jar and bring out. Unless is only one meal then i will put in the small thermos flask. You may consider that, or bring Jar food if you dont mind feeding yr darling that.

Classes, is not about be KS bringing them to "study", is about playing and have fun. Just think about this way if they dont go for classes to play, where can they be? Shopping with us?? at the playground? or at home watch tveeweee or toys?

my son is so sians with the toys he have.. and he decide to play with things that are not his toys.

So what i do is to bring him to classes to play and i learn what the teachers does so i try to play with him so i wont run out with ideas. on days i will just bring him to playground to let him play so he can improve his fine motors or
you may also consider places like explorer kids or paragon (with aircon playground) FOC.

Anyway, the trial to gymboree is free, just give it a try with yr hb. maybe after that he will change his mind.

If you have the thinking that going class = the kids must learn something then honestly you wont get any returns from the kid probably till much later part. But if you just have the thot that go there for fun and learn thru playing then you will have fun with the baby.

Aiyo yo.. so many bb girls seems are into football jersey nowadays har.. so cool look man!!But the material is super hot for singapore weather. my son wear only diapers and singlets can sweat until he always get heat rash on this neck.

Any mommies facing problem giving milk to your bb during day time? My son decided NOT TO DRINK any milk during day time, i just bought pediasure choco hopefully he will drinks. Hiazzz

Can anyone teach me what to do?? i really dont wish him to wean himself from milk.

Hey mom_yam

Thanks for the messy mat, received it just now

RE: Rejecting Milk

Wont be able to advise on this cos Amnada still rejects FM

hunniepot, wow liao after a long long time.. hopefully it still be a help to you. if i do biz har, my biz shall flop hahaa.. such a slow biz mama.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!

SHAWN, RYAN, OWEN & JORDON

Hi momyam, saw ur post and I met with such a problem before and I realize that when i feed my baby milk, I must make sure it's in a cool environment, with the fan blowing lightly at her and then she drink and fall asleep at the same time. I mean, I dun knw whether will it be a help to u, but worth trying. But my baby doesn't like to be burped. If I dun put her down after drinking her milk, she will start screaming for the bed. N becos of that, always get scolding frm hubby. Nvr burp her.

mom_yam

It will definately be useful

Thanks!

Guess we have to learn how to be mroe relaxed when it comes to feeding our kids.. it drives me mad that Amanda can take up till 2 hours to finish her food.. but force also no use.. so I try to feed more meals a day but smaller portions.. maybe you may want to let Issac drink lesser milk each time but more frequently?

Momyam, thks for the invitation. Let me consider abt the trip first as I am she'll get very grouchy esp. if she's hot and sweaty. But if I decide to go, may I knw the meeting plc and I saw the list of food that you guys are bringing, what are the food tht u r lacking in? Errmm .. just a thot, feel very akward leh. When u guys meet up, what do u all talk about?

Hunniepot, comes to solid this boy is SLOW (pantang) so i've no prob with that.

Now he TOTALLY dont want to drink a single sip of milk. Once the milk bottle goes to him, he will wave his hands telling me he dont want the milk.

Now he schedule has become:-

7am (milk 5 oz) - depends which he is not very willing to drink nowadays.
9am - Cereal with milk and biscuit, sometimes mash potatoe.
12pm to 1 pm - lunch (depend what time he wake up)
2.30 to 3pm - by right milk time.. by left he totally reject the milk. at times he will drink 2 oz when he is with me. or if he is in the car.
5pm to 5.45pm - dinner
6pm - fruits or yohurt
8pm to 9.15pm - milk sometimes 5 oz sometimes 5 oz + 3oz (depend on his mood).

To what i kw one day milk intake should be 8 oz x 3times. So that makes this notti boy drinks very very little. I really thinking how to mix more mik into his diet.

pentUPmum = no prob when you feel comfortable let us know. not necessary has to be the botanic garden gathering. sometimes we will meet for trials, sometimes we will meet over lunch, sometimes we will meet for bb game, sometimes we will meet for swims, sometimes we will just park ourself at someone's house for pot luck session.

At your own comfort, any activities of your interest to meet the rest of the moms.

What we talk har?? hmm.. we talk the sky, the moon, the earth haha..no la. we talk abt bb growth, we gather when bb plays and let them have fun. we basically talk anything that everyone's are comfortable. That's what i felt = right mommies that have met me??

momyam, the same thing happen to me.. my ger refuse to drink milk for 2 weeks, become skinny bone, me so heart pain.. then me change milk powder for her.. to gain IQ for 1 yr old.. then she is ok.. think maybe they sick of the milk powder taste.. so u can try changing..
