Tks Miu66
Noticed tat freshly EBM can be refridgerated(Chiller section) up to 8 days??

And milk remaining in the bottle tat has been offered to bb, can save up to next feed. ie. 3hours?? hmm....

tiffany
8 days - that's how long i've been storing my refrigerated BM for. if not used by that time, i've been moving it to the freezer. seems to be ok so far, except that K is getting fussy abt drinking frozen milk, sometimes want sometimes don't want.

milk remaining in bottle - i'm not sure how applicable that is for us in s'pore cos our warmer room temp means bacteria breeds faster. usually i throw away unfinished milk after abt 0.5 - 1 hr.

fussiecat
you are most welcome

i printed out the Storage Guidelines and "Save or Dump?" tables and stuck it on my fridge door so that hb/mom/MIL all know what to do should they need to feed the baby and i'm not around.

Miu66,
Aiyohh.... i have been transferring all these fresh milk to freezer on 3rd day! so wasted. My boy also dislike thawed BM, end up, MIL has to mix the thawed milk with fresh to avoid any wastage.

After reading Save or Dump, i feel so stupid to keep throwing my bb milk away... really wanna cry leh. I dispose even those that he did not touch and also throw those extra in the fridge after 48hrs coz i thought cannot freeze liao..... haiz, now my supply drop, no more extra to keep liao!!!
sad.gif

what?! me too! i tot we can only refridgerate BM for up to 48 hours only, beyond that must put in freezer. If really can last up to 8 days, then i won't have to freeze liao.

Tiffany,

Hehe! Wah.. I got many prospective SILs liao

Rach's Ryan is 1st in the line, followed by 1sttimemum's JJ then your darling Lucas

I tried the jumperoo at Toa Payoh Kiddy Palace... I cant buy any of these items liao.. sure kena slaughtered by my hubby...

Is Robinsons still have sale now?

hi ladies,
just a reminder that the article is written in US/Europe context where the weather condition is different from Sg so might not fully apply.

BMSG did a check with Local Fridge Companies and found that the temprature of the Refridgerator Section of a 2-Door Fridge varies between 3 to 6 degrees C. while in the guide, the recommended temp is 0-4 degree. so somehow our fridge is not as cold.

for me so far I am following Sg's context of storing in 2 door fridge for up to 48 hrs only.....better safe than sorry despite knowing how precious/limited our milk are.

miu66,
Thanks! Yay! i love baby fairs! :D

hunniepot,
Robinson's sale is over already. That one for members only, if i'm not wrong.

mel lim,
if that's the case, yes, it's safer to store in fridge for up to 48 hrs only... thanks for posting the info :D

mel lim
i think that is sensible advice
happy.gif

for me, the 8 days thing has been ok so far, K has drunk one-week old milk and has been ok, no diarrhea (touch wood!!) BUT my fridge does happen to be super cold!!! on a medium setting, my packets of milk are half frozen and we're always having exploding cans of coke!!

tiffany
there are display jumperoos at toys r us and i've also seen it at kiddy palace marina. i've got my eye on a 2nd hand one but the seller doesn't seem to be replying

on a completely different note, just want to share something with all the ladies here...

my hubby and i took leave yesterday to spend time together since it was our wedding anniversary. we went to raffles city to have a nice meal and to do some shopping. naturally, we went to robinsons children's section to look at baby stuff.

while browsing at the bb toys section, we overheard this guy complaining to his wife, something along the lines of:

"can you don't buy? the house is filled with baby's stuff already, can you don't buy anymore? can we go now? i'm so bored. we are supposed to have couple time today leh, can we don't look at baby stuff anymore?"

i swear i am not exaggerating, those were his exact words. my hubby and i overheard that guy complaining and complaining non-stop while his wife looked at the bb stuff. i was quite upset by that guy's attitude. you mean it's a torture to buy stuff for your own bb?! his poor wife! can't even have the joy of buying stuff for her bb...

then my hubby told me that we don't know the entire story, mebbe the wife has really bought a LOT of bb stuff and can't control herself (i think i have the same prob, ha).

dunno lah, i just felt very affected by the whole episode, so have to share with fellow mommies here. i'm so upset with that guy! luckily my hubby not like dat!

fussiecat, how many times u express a day to see to this increase? Hoping that that happens to as my stock in freezer is almost down to zero n the amt I express each day not enuf for my gal.

Wow...u mean can freeze milk after it's been in fridge for a day or two? I thot to freeze u muz do it straight after expressing and can't leave it out in the fridge. Those in fridge I usually consume within 48 hrs.

miu66 - what is the brand of yr fridge? I am thinking of buying new fridge as current one is a bit old and MIL always stuff the fridge thus not really cold. buy new one so that can ensure EBM stays fresh.

fussiecat - i know what you mean by u affected by the episode. I ever witness a man suaning his wife in a nursing room b4 and in front of the child somemore. i think he makes his wife really no face and also teaches the child to disrespect his mother.....i also go so upset then. But on the otherhand, this couple that you saw...the hubby also have a point where it is couple time....i think we should not forget to spend couple time with our hubby after our BBs arrives.

miu and hunniepot,
Ur gals are so sweet and pretty. I envy amanda alot. She sure has alot of toys to play. Think Hunniepot hse can be a playschool.

I have juz order the bumper mat (pooh & friends). Cant wait for the stock to arrive and let my Owen lie on it.

babyship
i express only 3 times per day (24 hours), each time will take about an hour. I took the advice of other pumping moms in the forum: pump ten mins on each side, twice, so total pumping time is abt 40-60mins. I have stuck to this routine ever since i go back to work a little more than a mth ago, so i'm puzzled by why my supply increase too.

mel lim
i felt that spending time together shopping for bbstuff is also couple time. in fact, that was what my hubby and i were doing. as long as we are having an enjoyable time together, it can be considered quality couple time. that guy at robinson was complaining loudly, as if he wanted other pple to hear so that his wife would be embarrassed and leave immediately. so horrid.

finally managed to upload Leo's pic!

Thanks again, Des, for arranging the BP for the Leapfrog activity station :D

Yeah, Leo also leans forward when sitting in the seat. But today he has gotten more active and keeps turning himself round and round in the seat! so farnee!

Re : Baby Flipping

My gal starts to flip and turn abt 3 weeks ago and eversince she dont like to lie on her back except during sleeptime.

Like Des, also got to fight with her during changing diapers and clothes cos she wanted to flip all the times. Heee.. very funny

Re : Breastmilk

I agreed with Mel that it is safer to follow Sgs context to store milk cos our weather is different from USA side. Im following all the instructions from BMSG too.

Fussiecat, I would feel so upset if my hubby is like that man! Eversince Im pregnant, my hubby and I usually shop at babys department and no where else! But I had seen a lot impatient men who shouted their wives (or girlfriends) when they were shopping and they looked really bored!

Latest photo of my gal.

hi jasmintea,
wow, ur gal started flipping quite early. my boy havent yet, quite worried. i have always wondered has it got to do with his early birth? he was out at wk36.

WOW WOW.. "who's tat girl" ur gal so beautifully dressed. when i go shopping, always got attracted with all the pinky clothes lei... but i cant buy.
sad.gif
ask u ar..where to shop for nice bb clothes?

jasminetea,

How old is ur ger now? My ger can't flip yet, but when we deliberately flip her, she can stay there for a long time. And she enjoy it haha.. she loves to be on her tummy too, but only for a while.

Tifanny,

I go anywhere also can buy my ger clothes heehee... went bugis yesterday and bought another 3 at OG. I loved the clothes sold at seiyu too. Very sweet
happy.gif
But i guess it largely depends on the brands. Brands like richgi, disney etc normally have very great designs. But expensive lor, cost more than $20. I normally grab those on offer.. like around $15 or less. I dun really like oshkosh and fox though.

Guess wat.. my ger now has whole shelf of clothes.. can last her to 18 mths.. yesterday i even bought one winnie the pooh dress for her which is 18-24 mth :p

Afternoon, jasminetea,
tat pants... i seen b4.. is it hte gymboree one or jshopper one?

Flipping
U mean ur bb can turn ard n lie on her tummy already?

Xuanting is still halfway only.. but she super funny.. n wants to flip when she's tired n so becoz only half way turned, she would b so angry that she b screaming.. =p

Screaming bb??
Xuanting picked up a strange habit lately. She now dun just "complain". She will scream if not doing it her way.

Is this normal?

Breast engorement?
Ask u mommies.. I long time no bf already... but lately found the tissue ard my breasts seem hard n slight pain when i bend or lie down on bed... it's like got lumps ard these areas... but can i still get engorement???

Even though no breastfeed for a long time... at least 3M+.

koalarie,

My ger also enjoy screaming nowadays. I dunno whether she is trying to complain anything. It is halfway our "conversation" that she will scream. So i tell her not to talk loudly like tat because it is rude and she must have right manners haha..

koalarie - sound more like a block duct than engorement to me. I think it is possible as block duct is dried milk stuck in your duct. You can try to apply hot pad and massage it away.

screaming BB - yes, J also seems more vocal nowadays if something is not done his way. guess they are just getting smarter by the day huh.

screaming baby!
same here, K is always screaming or squealing to complain or to get attention. hb says she's like a piglet!!

flipping
K managed to flip from tummy to back yesterday, but one time only. anyway i was obviously more excited than she was, cos i was clapping and cheering away!!

taka baby fair
went down today, super packed, of course. there were a very large variety of products available, incl those not normally sold in the taka baby dept.

sherlene just flip from back to tummy today.. but her hand is stuck underneath her body... hopefully she will learn how to get the hand out..
another milestone.. so happy...
we shave her botak on monday which is her lunar 4mth old.

Me went down to Taka today also. May have bump into miu66 and other mummies. kekeke

My purchase:
a) a potty
b) Pigeon mag mag full set ($13.50)
c) Tiny Love Ozzie Orange ($15.90) At this moment, it's my toy cos YY doesn't know how to appreciate it yet. It's so cute!
https://www.tinylove.com/toy.aspx?toyId=87
(There's Andy Apple and Anna Banana in the series.)
d) Sassy Busy Bug Stroller Bar ($19.90)http://www.sassybaby.com/category?cattype=category&catid=18&productid=102&product=Busy%20Bug%20Bar

Super crowded? hmmm...ok lah, not as crowded as I expect. Being a PH.

Almost all major brands are there, didn't see Combi or Pureen though.

My gal cried hysterically when she saw her cousin just now. Think it's the cousin's face, painted some symbols (quite faint) and a small S'pore flag. But it's not scary what...silly gal, dunno what she's thinking that she suddenly breaks out. Made my MIL so tense up why she wailing so loud cos she NEVER cry like that before. After I comfort her, which didn't take too long, she's all smiles again. As she takes to her tub for her usual evening bath, she seems to have forgotten why she was frightened minutes ago, kicking and splashing merrily.

Hello Ladies
happy.gif

Tiffany,

I guided my gal how to flip when she is about 3 mths old. Then one day she surprised me by flipping herself. Now she flip so fast that I dare not put her lie down alone on high places like my bed or sofa. And somehow she likes to lie on her tummy rather than back when she is awake.

Don't worry lah. Your boy is not slow lah. Maybe your boy will be faster in other development, like walking?
happy.gif

I love Fox's baby clothings cos price is reasonable and design very nice. U got shop there before? Other than that, heee.. I buy from gymboree or jshopper spree. I like Mothercare also but too expensive, so never buy. Just see see look look only.

KK,

My gal is exactly 4 mths yesterday.

Evon,

Heeee.. you're right! That pants from Gymboree lor. :p Me is a big fan of Gymboree liao.

I think very common. My gal also loves to scream when she can't get what she wants! Nowadays she likes to make a lot of baby talks.

Screaming bb?
Wow.. i dunno to laugh or 2b angry with her when she screams. She can suddenly "giggle" when I told her not to do tat.

Her daddy cannot dahan her screaming n picked her up.. i walked behind him n "said her notty" n she smiled as if she wore the victory anyway.

nana,

Let's see whether my ger can flip on her own these coming weeks. She is in her 14th week.

I remembered i saw her trying to flip around 2 weeks back. But she got fed up when she couldn't and also sighed haha.. when she was trying to flip, she was actually trying to push her buttocks over first, but kept falling back heehee...

kk,

My girl also like that. I put her in her bumbo and she keep leaning forward. Not sure what she wants. I thot she wants to look at her feet.
kao_confused.gif

I also think they wanna look at their feets.
Recently when I put her on her back, she will lift her legs and hold on to her feet and put it to her mouth...
greedy girl... hehehe

/b{BB looking at feet}
Same for Xuanting too. She was looking at her socks yesterday when I sat her on my laps. Then she tried to use her hand to touch one of the feet but aiming still not good. =p

/b{Blocked ducts}
thx, mel.So long still ve milk??? Hmm... I will keep massaging then.

BB Blogs
Hey.. mommies.. mind if I try to link all ur blogs to my web? = p

Found so fun looking at all bb fotos.. so cute. =p

Taka baby fair
any idea when it ends?

Teething
any bb starts to teeth already? these few days J is very grouchy and is feeling abit warm all over. also dun really want to nurse. Not sure if these are symptoms of teething.

Fussiecat,
No problem. As long as our babies are enjoying themselves.

Miu,
Ur baby looks like a gal leh. Not abit like boy.

RE: Swimming
I intend to bring my boy for swimming when he's 6mths old.

Having a bb gal can really help mummy to spend quite alot. Their clothings are sooo pretty and cute. Whenever I go to the clothing section, always have the tendency to buy some ger ger clothes.. heeeheee....

My boy has just started to flip from right to left and left to right and he wanted to 'crawl'.

Jasmine,
Ur gal is cute and I think she looks abit like her dad (if i vaguely remember how ur hubby looks like when we are attending our antenatal class)

Booties
Any mummies out here still let your babies wear booties? Currently, I only let Owen wears it during his sleep or when the weather is cold. At which stage, will they b out of the booties or socks?
