Ah yo.. I'm so impressed with bbs tat can sleep thru the nites... really wish tat Xuanting can last thru' the nites. Very tired to wake up to feed n burping her seems to take ages at nights.

my PD said once bb's body is ready n able to produce enuf glucose, he/she would b able to last through the night. Afterall, bb oso dun want to wake up at nights if not for milk milk... =p

Like ur boy, sometimes Xuan ting'd wail if I take out.. or she accidentally push the bottle out as she struggles.

Oopss... xuan ting seems 2 behave weird these 2 days.. she doesn't want to zzz in sarong. Kept struggling when I placed her in sarong.

Xuanting's playime is like morning 7~10am, afternoon 1~2pm and then evening 5~8pm. Rest of time is mostly sleep or makan time.

Xuanting is using BB Johnson Head &amp; Toes Wash (at her home) and Pureen Head &amp; Toes Wash (at my mom's placE).

Normally I will only add a drop into the tub n wash tat on her hair. Only alternate days that I place a drop of the wash on her hand. Heard tat too often wash the hair with shampoo may hurt the scalp.

Last nite, my boy can sleep up to 5.5 hours from 9.00pm to 2.30am.so good...hahah i am so happy.Luckly.....

i will hold the milk bottle with my right hand for my girl while she is lying on the bouncer to drink her milk. if she turns her head here &amp; there, i will use my left hand to hold it still.

sometimes my girl also struggles a lot in sarong. i realised if i give her pacifier to suck, she will calm down &amp; zzzz faster. at times i dun even have to rock her. although i hate the idea of giving pacifier, no choice cos if that is the only way to make her sleep. but usually she will spit the pacifier out when she sleeps or i will pull it out when i see her sleeping soundly.

so theortically ... if can put bb in bouncer.. i can place bb in infant car seat too lo? The altitude think should b fine for bb, right? Becoz I tot placing bb on bouncer or infant car seat not recommended; in case bb got choked?

My gal yesterday gave me some scare n didn't want her milk milk till 7 hours later! But all this happens in the afternoon. She wasted two bottles of milk after she only slipped for 10ml of milk.

Any of u ve such prob b4?

Wow.. I was so worried tat i dun dare to zzz.

one more thing.. how to train bb not to spit out pacifier?? My gal dun seem used to it. She juz kept spitting..

Yesterday during the 7h "ordeal", she was crying n crying no matter how i carry her.. then after swaddle her arms n legs, she calmed down but still dun zzz till i gave her pacifier.. but hor, I got to hold the pacifier in her mouth.. else drop, she will wake up again n dun zzz.

perhaps your girl was overtired? yes, there really is such a thing! apparently, when babies are too tired or have been overstimulated (something like information overload), they can get really cranky and have difficulty sleeping.

i've been reading up on this cos i realise as my girl develops (she's now 11 wks) she seems to sleep quite little in the day (each nap lasts only abt half an hr). and usually when she does get sleepy on her own, it's cos we're in the car or she's in her pram when we're outside. otherwise i notice she is sleepy but can't fall asleep on her own and starts fussing/crying (which lasts quite long and makes her even more tired) and then i have to try all sorts of carrying positions to calm her before she falls asleep in my arms, and then won't allow me to put her down!! initially when all this fussing/crying bouts started a few days ago, it was usually after a feed and i kept thinking maybe she was still hungry so i offered my breast again but she actually kept turning her head away and crying even more. then no matter how i carried her or walked around, she wouldn't calm down cos she was so worked up. now i know she was just sleepy and needed a cuddle.

I agree with what miu66 say. Your gal should be overtired liao.. My boy also the same, when place in the sarong now will satrt crying but i just allow hime to cry awhile but i will still continue to rock and pat him even if he is crying than awhile later, he will start to rub his eyes....

Pacifier:
My boy also dun seem used to it, i got to hold there before he can really suck. Sometime he seem to like it but sometime will cry so hard when i try to put it into his mouth. I really dunno what he actually want....haiz!!! Oh he will spilt it out after he sleep.

agreed with the mum, yest, feed my bb at 1830hs, after burp, tried to get him sleep, he kept crying n cranky till 2130hrs, which is next feed. howver, i did not give milk the milk as i know he is super tired, just thst he do not know how to sleep. /but sarong, cry, in my arms aso cry so gotta coax n coax. Then after about 40mins, i feed him agin as he has much better feeling to drink.

ic, with regards to the mustela cradle shampoo, did you use to wash your bb hair everyday, can apply directly?

No, i wash on alternate day. Its in form type so i actually apply directly..... Try it out but kind of ex. $16.80 but i bought it when Kiddy Palace having 20% sale.

Anyone has comment on Dr Brown's Milk Bottle??

yap, u can place ur bb in car seat too. i tried that before and my bb has no problem drinking her milk too. i have no choice to place her in bouncer/car seat cos my bb just refused to drink milk when we carried her. the only thing is that i have to watch carefully while she drinks just in case she gets choked. so far no such problem *keeping my fingers crossed*. today i tried lying her down on her cot, propped up her head using a pillow &amp; let her drinks her milk in the this way, it works too.

re: pacifier
actually i dun really know how to train bb not to spit out pacifier. in fact, i'm quite happy when my girl spit it out. if she can't get to sleep &amp; dun want pacifier, i just got to be patient &amp; take a longer time to rock her in sarong or cuddle &amp; pat her to sleep. usually i dun ve a major problem making her sleep, is only her drinking habit that is driving me crazy.

I bought a bottle of the Mustela shampoo too. Can u tell me how long it takes to clear your bb cradle cap after using the shampoo?

For that shampoo... i think after 5 or 6 days clear liao lor but i did put olive oil on bb head too leh. Either overnight or 1hrs before bathing. Can give it a try too and remember to wash on alternate day.

where do u buy the bouncer?

Think my bb dun like to lie down to drink milk nowadays. She prefers 2ve her head held slightly higher to dirnk milk leh.

Anyway, thanks mommies. Think Xuan ting's tummy is not right somewhere. She has not pooed for 3.5 days but each day she still drank water of up to almost 100ml. but her feed is deterioting. Last 2 feeds only finished 60~70ml of milk.

have any of you mommies tried the bumbo seat? i'm thinking of getting one for my daughter since she likes to sit upright nowadays, but i was wondering if it's any good. i realise that what she likes is to be carried upright AND be moved around so i wonder if it will be frustrating to sit in the bumbo and not be able to move!

Maybe you should feed bb milk first instead of water? If feed water first, her tummy will be full, hence cannot take in much milk.

I did put my bb on the bumbo seat yesterday and he seem to be so happy sitting thou his head still have no much support...... heehee!!! My sister lend it to me but cannot put bb there too long coz scare not good for his spine.

i already carrying him in the upright position like kk mentioned and he love it if he is not sleepy. i think my arm is when i carry it often during his super cranky and mild colic period, also partly fm expressing manually. all using same arm mah.

i tried sling and he dun like it. he likes to hv room to stretch and fighting kung fu. will try the bouncer method hopfully he is ok.

My colleague also mentioned to me before that her daughter's feeds reduced too.. but i dunno when it started.. she did not feed any water at all and it happened. So urs the same case maybe? My girl also drink around 100 ml of water everyday, and quite consistent on her milk feeds still.

I'm on TFM. Initially when I was PBF, my bb still poos everyday. But when I switched to TFM, he starts to poo like once in every 2 or 3 days. And when he does poo, he will turn all red from trying to poo lor. The problem with him is that he does not like to drink water. So now I try to feed him using spoon lor. So now he can poo liao but not much though

Hmmm, trick is.. will ur bb want to drink milk around 1 hr or 1.5 hr after feed? If yes, can "trick" him with water.

my mom told me the old nurses in her times tot her to add a bit of milk powder into the water bb drinks n feed him/her with tat... she told me bbs likes milk more than water becoz of taste.. n tix is one way to get him/her to drink more water. =)

Today is Xuanting's 4th day no poo!!!!

Juz now she refused to drink her last bit of milk milk (Ard 40ml) when my mom fed her.. so I burped her for 10 minutes or so n fed her again.. thank goodness, she managed to finish.

Anycase.. I think I will switch the milk powder for a try n bring Xuan ting to see Yu guo chinese physician 2morrow as well (B4 I go back to work).

I oso not sure if xuanting is stressed as she's in new environment since Sat and thus no poo.

My bb also went to Yu Guo before... try to go there either early in the morning ard 8:45am to take nos or evening 5:45pm if not alot of ppl there especially if bb need to do massage...

My bb is drinking Enfalac A+ for one of his feed and he poo only 2 to 3 days once. But dun seem to be constipation leh coz the poo same as he is taking ebm.... I cannot feed bb so much water like what you gals do coz after drinking water, he will not want his milk liao. Notice that he think that one is milk leh. How huh? Should i replace one of his milk to water?

There is one mummy who told me S26 more fattening lor. Her hubby's few doctor friends told him so. I told my colleague my girl is on S26, she also say fattening. Dunno where she heard it from heee.. but anyway my nieces and nephew all on S26 ever since they were borned. That was already as long as 9 yrs back. And they grow up chubby and sweet heee.. that's why i think no harm lah and decided to let my bb go on S26. Cheaper than enfalac too. Remember we once thought enfalac got problems? That's when i made the switch lor.

my girl also went to yu guo for tui na becos of her phelgm &amp; blocked nose problem. she enjoyed the massage sessions very much. it's worth trying.

i used the same "trick" as kk...ard 1.5hr to 2 hr after her feed, i will give my bb some water. but i must use her favourite teat... ...nuk teat, once i used avent teat, she refused to drink and played with the teat using her toungue. she drinks about 80ml to 100ml of water a day and no problem passing motion. she is drinking dumex mamex gold.

Haha, ya. Previously we fed our girl with tollyjoy bottle cum teat. And realised she dun drink from there because the bottle is not wide necked and she sensed the difference. So to fully implement the "trick", we have to use back the same pigeon wide necked bottle cum teat. So she drink water like she drink milk

hey yogurt, where's yu guo? the last time i brought my baby to Ma-Guang for massage... he cried like hell...

I've just switched to S26 for Nix... used to have Similac, then NAN1, now S26... he just have it for few days only.. wondering is it good... fattening wise, heard from my cousin and friends saying Similac will make bb grow fat... dunno how tru either.. my baby already 4.5 (corrected age 3 month) weighing 7 kg, took his 2nd 5-in-1 jab last friday..

kk, Xuanting is taking Similac lor.. I guess the article explains well enough where she is taking only 100ml.. I guess.. =p

I m checking on Friso to see what it is.. I heard comments on Enfalac oso slightly on heatish side.. I guess it's the amt of iron contents that is added n thus some bbs couldn't poo poo.

I'm thinking of changing only after her injection tix Sat.. so scared she got fever.. so better dun complicate the matters first.

another thing.. how to change the milk powder? Is it 1/3 of new powder and then 2/3 of old powder for a day and then 1/2 of new powder and then 1/2 of old powder for next day and finally 2/3 of new powder n 1/3 of old powder on 3rd day n finally all new powder on 4th day?? Is it like tat???

It's day 4.5 that Xuanting no poo.. n so brought her to Yu Guo this noon... wow!... Doc Xu told us tat even bbs on bm oso constipate u noe??!! Guess it's the contents that we mothers have eaten n thus bbs can't poo lo..

Anyway, Xuanting really enjoys her massage so much tat she kept talking to the physician that massages her.

There was another bb there.. think ard Xuanting's age too.. he was crying quite badly when the massage started.. I guess, it's the bed a bit cold.. so if u thinking of bringing ur bb there, better bring a blanket n spread it such that ur bb can lay on the blanket as the person massages ur bb lor.

Anyway....

She finally poo at my mom's home after we came home.. OMG!!! Her Shit is so HARD! No wonder she can't push!

Or mayb it's been there too long n thus so hard??? It's like our adult one.. soft.. but a cluster. A pity can't change milk powder now.. got to wait till next Wed (After her Sat injection).

my girl also "talked" a lot to the chinese physician during the massage... ...heehee...how many days do u need to bring xuanting for the massage? my girl needed to go for 3 consecutive days. maybe will bring her for massage session once or twice a month since she enjoys it so much.

Haiz...my bb doesn't even like to drink milk, how to trick him to drink water?? Haha...basically I'm going mad frm his colic. He has too much wind in his stomach, so he doesn't want to drink milk. Tried ruyi oil, massaging his stomach, even brought him to see dr and on medication. But still the wind came back after medication stopped for a week. Really headache! Anyway, thanks for all the solutions to making him poo

He treat water as milk.
U can try to let him very very hungry than give him drink milk also...when he hungry, he sure drink

My bb did tried on Friso but the milk i find that its kind of thick and my bb has got lotsa plemge(dunno how to spell:p). If you wanted to change, buy a small one to try it out 1st.

Maybe you can try to buy one Bfee bottle to give it a try. I find that after using that bottle, bb seem to have less air in his stomach and also dun vomit after milk which he does with normal bottle especially if drinking formula. Bfree really keep all bubbles away but kind of expensive. 125ml cost $16.90 240ml cost $18.90 and 300ml cost $20.90. Metro sale over liao so no more discount unless you got metro card.

my bb drinking dumex also got lots of phelgm. seems like phelgm is a very commom problem among bb. now i giving her slightly diluted milk, her phelgm problem is better.

Yes, bfree bottle are wide necked... can buy one and give it a try. Anyone here using NUK bottles?? I have got 2 240ml BN to sell since i'm going to change all bb bottle to Bfree liao (A big holes in my pocket) Also got a pigeon anti colic bottle to sell. Not the wide neck one.

kk, the nurse gave panadol syrup for Nixon... she advised to give bb after jab and continue the syrup if bb not feeling well... but Nixon quite ok leh... but he felt tired after jab... slept the whole day... no fever but abit restless...

Koalarie, i nvr mixed the fm leh.. fm itself tastes yucks.. cant imagine after mixed.. keke.. i ever ask pd (Nix's pd from SGH)about change of formula... she said any formula is fine... can change if u think it is neccessary.. she quote me example "everyday ask u eat the same old food for 6 to 8 times a day for few months, u dun feel sick meh?" keke.. ganna scolded by her cos bnefore seeing her, gp outside ask me to give Nix Soy formula... she advised me not to give baby soy formula as it is for baby with diarrhea and for baby sensitive to cow milk. for quantity of fm, she wants me to follow the instruction strictly stated on the tin. She said less fm will cause bb constipation... which i find it quite true... the last time, my mum and mil asked me dun put too much fm and Nix was having constipation... but now i follow the quantity and he poos once every 2 days...

for fm, i find that Similac generate alot of bubbles when making the milk, NAN 1 making his stool black black leh... now having S26, his stool are yellowish liao...
