about the chinese rice wine, my mum mixed it with cool boiled water for me to clean myself.. she nvr let me allow to use tap water from the heater to clean myself.

shylyn, my grandma and mum urge me to let bb sleep in sarong as bb will not get scared easily because bb will cuddle up as in mum's womb.. sarong are more cooling than cot and bb's head shape will be rounder and nicer.. and bb will sleep longer in sarong but my hubby and in-law against the idea of sarong
for nix's beansprout pillow, i went to the market and ask the for the beansprout husk.. i picked, washed and dried the husk and my mil made the pillow case for me.. wanted to buy on line.. but did it myself indeed..

hmm...u use cool boiled water ah? My mum told me must use hot water leh coz the purpose is not to let wind get into our body mah...cooled boiled water is also cold leh..

Kinda true for sarong cos it plays e same purpose as swaddling them..as if e bb is still in the mother's womb..personally, i dun hv e sarong else can consider..instead, most likely will give my bb sleep in the cot instead..but will wrap him up to prevent him from being frightened by his own reflexes.

shylyn, if my in-laws and hubby allow, i will get the sarong for nix.. but too bad lor.. nix doesn't like to sleep on the cot cos parents' bed and squeeze with them.. i just bought him a normal bouncer (with netting), loosen the spring so tat the angle just nice and put a pillow below the netting.. and he sleep quite soundly on it

Better don't let your bb sleep in sarong leh. Otherwise if your bb is used to the swaying motion then next time will have difficulty coaxing bb to sleep when u r outside. Imagine have to carry bb and sway him to sleep. This happens to my cousin's bb lor

have not log in for a few days and there are so much to read. Seen my gynae yesterday and confirm that I'm going for elective c-section on Monday, 3 Apr.
A bit kan cheong now. Dun really know wat to expect. I'm also doing last min hand over at work and cleaning at home. A bit siong!

Wow... posting is long. = p
Afternoon went to see gynae. Gynae did a measurement scan for bb as she found her head diameter too big.
At 36th week, she's weighing at 3.391kg! Unbelievable!
Gynae said though she's huge but she still won't induce her till mayb at 38th week if she continues to put on weight next Friday when check. Gynae said C-section is still not necessary unless bb in distress.
I'm getting a bit scared... wonder if possible to do ND by then......
Think must do all my homework - exercises and frequent walks... so tat dun need to ve C section.

hi kolarie, during my last visit to gynae, he did not check bb's weight. so i dun know how big and heavy liao.
but my appetite still very good, so i continue to eat 3 main meals and have tea in the pm. Especially so these days since my boss juz came back from Malaysia with alot of goodies.

Thnx Preciousbabe for sharing info on the shampoo, I juz bought it at medicall hall @ $9.50, was told the powder ones have phased out
Came back frm gynae, BB is 2.6kg @ 35 wks & gynae said BB considered big esp my frame is petite, me gained 0.5kg, 300gm to BB. She told me her patient gave birth to BB at week 36 & BB was admitted to ICU cos liver nt fully developed. Hence I gotta hang on till week 37-38 for the sake of BB tho I'm feeling lethargy & aching...

got a bad news from my friend this morning.. my friend's wife is 4 months pregnant and did the blood test sometime ago... her gynea called her saying that from her blood test, he found that the fetal might born with down sydrome.. this is their first baby.. and my friend called me last wk, happily told me his wife's expecting a baby gal tat's wat she always wanted.. now hearing him wat he told me just now.. feeling so sad for both of them

Hmm.. try to cut down on the food that you eat? I really cut down on my food intake after I learnt that my bb put on 1.4 kg over 1 month.. since then she has only been putting on pretty minimal weight.. till I delivered her at 3.1 kg at 37 1/2 weeks

Do u bring BB Amanda to "sun-bathe" every morning before 10am? Are u drinking longan tea? Do u eat ginger as per normal? Sorry for bombarding u wif these qns, me worry ginger is really the cause of jaundice if nt sesame oil but can't imagine how the food will taste w/o both loh....plus my mil used to include ginger in my longan tea, gd for mommy but bad for BB rite...I teared when my gal was asked to b hospitalised due to jaundice during her first checkup, I felt so loss & I dun want it to happen to my boy tis time.....

hunniepot and preciousbabe, are u going to apply passport for ur little one? I wanna apply for Nix leh.. but not sure about if he needs individual passport or have to attach with parents.. as my is malaysian passport, dun think he can attach with mine.. and baby's face changes very fast, do we need to change the photo as and when needed? i've search the ICA webby but nothing about paasport for baby leh..
hi jumbo, paiseh! i juz checked with 2 of my colleagues. They said now system changed. Our bb got own passport liao, no more attached to mother. So when our bb's facial changed, juz go down to ICA with the updated foto and they will do the necessary. No need to pay $$ for updated foto.

've been watching my diet since my weight since pregnancy already > 20kg.
Sigh.
Gynae seemed a bit concerned @ bb's size but was saying my weight was k.. just tat bb really put on quite a fair bit of weight n kept asking if our families got history of diabetics, which none lor.
She didn't reply 2 whether we should go straight for C-section... just said if next week check n she still put on weight, gynae will induce bb out at 38th week lor.

Dun worrylah..just make sure u r eating healthily can liao...dun purposely restrict ur intake. Did u have a lot of unhealthy stuffs during ur pregnancy?

so ur sign of gg into labour is water bag burst? I wonder which one will b for me..last night, i leaked urine & initially tot is e water bag burst..but after gg to toilet, i still return to sleep as per normal..only check this morn to ensure it's not waterr bag...heheheh

Just came back from my checkup... I'm in my 37th weeks now. Gain ard 800grms for the past week but baby weight remain the same..
gynae say if next week still remain same, gotta induce le.
However good news is baby's head is engaged already. but cervix is not opened yet. If got contractions, got to take note cos cervix might open then and labour could be quite fast cos this is my 2nd child.
Water level is still good.. thou it drop already.. only measured at 7. check with my gynae and she say anything above 5 is okie.

How come need to induce if bb didn't gain weight? My gynae didn't comment on my bb's weigght at all..he just measured his head & thigh bone..& the last visit, my bb's head also enggaged & he'll check my cervix e next visit to c whether it has ripen..& if so, can arrange for delivery liao

I've been drinking longan red dates with ginger leh. Mum cooks my meals with sesame oil and some ginger everyday. It didn't affect Jayden's jaundie level leh. In fact, I just came back frm the polyclinic after the 2nd check and his level dropped liao. So guess ginger and sesame oil don't really affect jaundice but make sure bb drinks, pees and poos alot.

shylyn, ya lor... my water bag burst and admitted to hospital.. no sign of labour actually.. no contraction, bb no engage.. just water bag burst and go induce..
another thing for bb jaundice, just like wat preciousbabe said, make sure bb drink and poos out the waste.. it is important lor..

Just remembered what I read from a brochure I got from the polyclinic yesterday.. breastmilk contains a hormone which slows down the breakdown of bilirubin.. but is temporary.. when my bb got admitted into the hospital.. my PD actually advised me that feeding her FM for a while will be good for her.. I actually wanted to express out and bring to hospital and let her drink.. but didnt do it upon advised by doctor
Think anything eaten in moderation is ok.. my bb did pee and poo quite a bit after being discharged from hospital the first time.. but her level went up just 3 days later.. thus got to get admitted.. just observe baby's symptoms.. press the forehead and middle of the chest to see if skin is yellow..
