My stamina not that good lar.. I have got to sit down after an hour or so of walking afterwise I have much difficulty walking to the MRT station or bus stop!

Ladies

Cant make up my mind which one to get
happy.gif

sggal, good idea to print in different fonts then bring down lor.. at least u wont get panick if the only u bring cant fit in.. for nixon's full month celebration, yet to discuss with my in-laws.. no chance to meet them and they visit us once a week.. keep forgetting to ask them everytime they come.. have my hubby to be the middle man.. for kathija's baby massage.. she's supposed to do it today.. but she was late for an hour an hour and bumped with baby's feeding time.. and she told me she will do it on Monday (she's not taking any session on sunday). Tuesday is the last session liao.. hope can get the session over asap cos really hate the oily feeling from top to toes.. ya, she will massage the breast and butt also.. so, dun feel pai seh if she do tat..
happy.gif
for the cloth for binding, re-use it lor.. nvr change leh.. and the binder, it is hooks and eyes type.. she said very cheap nia, $10 over can get liao.. but the binder's so tight on me tat some hooks and eyes seem going to detach liao.. wahaha.. for massage oil that kathija's using, the very 1st time i use, i feel like burning, maybe my skin havent get use to it... but from 2nd session onward, dun feel the burning sensation liao.. but after each session, i will perspire like hell.. even sit down doing nothing, the sweat like pouring.. she said cos the massage works on me..

chenoa, thanks for the link.. i ever try to express bm manually but i think pumping works faster leh.. but this link kinda useful
happy.gif

daphne, the secretion might be the colostrum.. will see it when about to express bm.. heard that tat's the best part of the bm.. hmm.. yet to find scientific proof on it leh..

1sttimemum, if u are thinking of getting kathija, maybe can pretend u are sleeping when she do massage for u lor.. but the first session she will ask alot of personal question.. keke.. think just tell her u enjoy the massage so much tat u fall asleep lor.. keke..

shylyn, maybe u can go to those DIY shop to look for the wall decor sticker..

hunniepot, i vote for the 2nd one.. the butterfly one.. but do they have the same compartment? think most important is the useful design the bag has.. i got 2 nursery bags.. one from the hospital, Abbott sponsor one, one as a gift from friends..

jumbo & lstimemum

Thanks for your comments!
happy.gif
Think the flower one has got more compartments.. and since it is cheaper.. decided to get the flower one
happy.gif

Have you used the diaper bag yet? Cos am intending to use it when I transport my bb from my place to my mum's place everyday once I go back to work..

If you all are interested.. here is the link to the pictures for the blur and pink bags:

http://sg.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/li...s.yahoo.com/ph/littlefriendscottage/my_photos

i've start using the nursery bag when i brought nixon to poly clinic last monday.. find it very useful.. Abbott one is haversack, another one is sling.. prefer sling than haversack.. havent got the milk powder container, warm water flask.. and stroller yet.. heard hyperstore selling cheaper stroller.. but where's it huh?

hunniepot, i also plan to bring nixon to and fro my mum's place.. my hubby and me are discussing how to transport baby to my mum's place.. my superior's leaving the co by the time i go back.. he's driving company's lorry.. dunno will they change the lorry to pick up for me, so i can drive the pick up.. will be better for me.. sigh..

jumbo

Heh.. very happy got the bag liao
happy.gif
Thanks for the info on the bag.. think will definately come in handy.. not sure where is the hyperstore though.. I got my stroller westmall tom&stephanie.. think the rest of the girls shld know where hypermart is..

will bring nixon out to try out the stroller after his full month.. see which one he likes.. keke.. girls, another advice
happy.gif
.. prepare a note book after delivery.. jot down ur baby's activity everyday.. like feeding time and amount of milk consumed and change diaper time.. cos everyday time is different.. it is all depend on baby.. yesterday ask doc should i feed baby base on timing or on baby's demand.. doc said, feed on baby's demand.. cos baby know if he/she hungry or full..

jumbo

At least your ILs place is still pretty near your home.. so shld be pretty convenient.. my hb and I are having a headache.. dont know how to transport our darling from Toa Payoh to Jurong everyday.. esp when we dont have a car..

My bro was telling me that most of his friends also transport their bbs to their parents' house by taxi every morning.. they make arrangement with the taxi driver.. thus the driver will pick them up at a designated time every day.. might consider doing that..

hunni,
taxi transport will burn a hole in the pocket! why not consider let your baby stay with inlaws / parents on the weekdays and only fetch home for the weekend? Or get own car? kekekeke

I prefer the flowery one....think the butterfly one a bit kiddish.

cheona

But if you factor in the cost of owning a car.. (insurance; road tax; repayments + interest; ERP etc) it is more expensive to maintain a car than to hire taxi.. moreover I dont know how to drive.. so very mah fan for hb to be the one driving to and fro all the time.. unless I know how to drive then more worth it to get a car lar..

Jumbo,
let me know if the technique works well for you.

Just came back from my antenal class, and the lactation consultant says that for the first month feed on demand, later can try to combine schedule feeding and feed on demand.

The burning sensation is the effect of ginger ....'cos you say she uses ginger and lemongrass oil. As days go by, you are used/numb to the heat already...

Will you be removing your bind tomorrow and let your body be 'free' since she's not coming tomorrow?

Since the bind so cheap, you can buy a smaller size bind from her to use daily after your massage with her finish to conmtinue control the abdominal.

BTW, think you forget to answer how she gonna bind you on the last session....do you need your own cloth or still use that same cloth and she come back again to collect the next day? 'cos I heard Nisah's is we need to use own cloth for last day. Another massage lady says we will buy the cloth from her at $6. Not sure about Susi. 1sttimemum, you know?

My friend's recommendation uses lavender oil, supposed to be soothing and not smelly. She is quite old and very experienced but her eng not so good...a bit difficult to understand her. My friend had request no herbs in the bind 'cos she don't like the smell but she got back to pre-preg state in a few months....means that massage works!?! Dunno if due to massage or 'cos she breastfeed 'cos she says BF def helps to burn calories.

RE: Baby HyperStore / Baby Kingdom

Both are at Kaki Ubi - Shunli Industrial Estate. You will not miss them as you enter the gates 'cos got very obvious directional signs.

Just a survey,

388481.jpg

388482.jpg

Would you be willing to pay S$350 for each of these plush chairs? Or how much you willing to pay? There are a few designs. My friend who is intending to start his own business is contemplating whether got market here 'cos cost price and freight charges (very bulky item) very high. It's made in US or Europe.

Personally I love them very much, they are so cute and I think the quality is very good lor. Only proble is so X!

hunniepot, think this is good idea to engage one fix one lor.. or u may like to ask mummies from forum who wanna share car poll with u lor.. think will be cheaper this way..

chenoa, i'll be remove the bind whenever i cant tahan.. the 2nd and last nite, the bind was so tight that i remove all binds before bed time.. the binds make my skin so itchy, red rashes and even bruise.. cant tahan.. today one quite ok. not so tight.. about the last session, i nvr ask her how leh... btw, my last session with her is next tues.. will ask her on monday and let u know.. but can see abit of effect lor.. the tummy seems to be smaller.. dunno is it xin-li-zuo-yong.. keke.. my doc also encourage me to bf cos it will help me to lose weight.. but i think this month, my weight sure shoot up.. with good confinement food.. and living habit, sleep, eat, sleep eat.. how to lose weight?? keke..

is baby hyperstore and baby kingdom accessible?? if not, then dun think will go there le.. cos no car unless my dad wanna bring us there.. keke..

Jumbo,
RE: plush animal chair
Hmm...not sure if removeable for washing. Don't look so leh.

RE: Baby Kingdom / Baby Hypermart
Your purpose is to get strollers? It's not really convenient loh....got a bus stop right in front though....but looking at where you stay, you will have to change transport and a long journey leh.....

Suggest that you get the model no. you want from outside then give them a call and see what better price they can offer you. Then, just ask them to deliver and pay cash on delivery.

For Maclarens, Baby Hypermart stocks all the models you can see on the US website and it's cheaper than outside. Baby Hypermart also has Peg Pegaro.

For Combi and Lucky Baby, contact Baby Kingdom.

Hmm....I don't have their tel no. Maybe some other gals have it.

They don't carry Aprica, you have to go to Aprisin at Tagore Ave.

colostrum secretion, got this a few months ago.. told my gynae and she said it's good as it means your breasts are preparing for breastmilk...

hi mummies... jus when for my check up today at wk34 n 1 day. Doc say bb head is down, engage n in very gd position. Ask gynae does tat mean i'll give birth anytime? He say no. Thought engage liao means readdy to give to pop???? No????
uhoh.gif
bb weigh 2.38kg now. Bb gain abt 600 gram + but i lost abt 400gram +...

1sttimemum

Yeah lor.. I just knew about it.. but nvm lar.. ilike the design and seems like got more pockets
happy.gif
thus the blue one that comes with the flowery one is also smaller than the blue one thats comes with the butterfly one..

I PM the details of this other mommy who wants to sell her blue diaper bag.. she said she got it off the last bulk purchase.. but never used it as it is too big for her.. so if you want can contact her.. might be able to get a better price..

chenoa

RE: Massage
I have discuss with hubby regarding which one to get and he say if i feel heart pain to pay that extra $70 than he helps to pay and ask me to get Mdm Rokiah....... For the massage i pay myself coz he is going to pay alot of things and i am thinking to lesser his burden..... since he say that, than i think i will continue with my 1st choice....Mdm Rokiah!!!

Me not sure about Susi coz i did nhot ask her.....

chenoa, my hubby wanna get a budget one and he said he wanna change the stroller every year as bb grown up.. but i told him i rather spend more on a sturdy one which can last for years.. dunno wat is he thinking.. wanna get a pram and car seat for baby as somethime will travel in dad's car.. still looking around for the brand and design lor..

1sttimemum

No problem lar.. no need to be so ke qi..

jumbo

I guess my bb will be travelling quite often in my father's car as well.. but not looking for car seat yet.. thinking can still hold bb in my arms for quite sometime to come right?

Good morning!

Jumbo,
RE: Stroller
Your hubby has a point about changing the pram / stroller....but every year a bit too much leh....
happy.gif

European/US convertible strollers designed for from birth onwards tend to be more bulky and heavy (can be about 7-9kg, some as heavy as 11kg) than those suitable from 3 months or 6 months onwards (about 4-5kg). These brands are quality products lah....sure to last. Problem is you wouldn't like to carry or lug such a heavy system around.

But Combi and Lucky Baby's convertible strollers are very light and portable, cheap but not so lasting (as I've heard).

Not getting the stroller or car seat now....my SIL will be giving us 2nd hand (dunno what brand, but according to her is those cheap kind.

Yukie,

Engaged means the head is lock in position in the pelvic so it will not turn up to breech position again. It will still take a few more weeks for the baby to move further down the canal.
happy.gif
so, don't be too anxious.

good morning chenoa
happy.gif
ya, i dun like combi although it is like.. cos it look very fragile leh.. not sure about lucky baby.. about those ang moh brand.. have to look around lor.. as for car seat, is baby exempted?? cos baby dun even know how to sit leh.. i think it is ok to hold them in arms.. will try to find out
happy.gif

Jumbo,

Some car seats are convertible from newborn to toddler. something like this
http://page.auctions.yahoo.com/sg/auction/90023418

Rear facing suitable from birth - 13kg (approx 15months), front-facing when child can sit unaided from 9kg-18kg (approx 9months-4 years)

Heard Britax and Maxi Cosi are very good. My friend uses a cheaper Combi, also convertible type.

But I think most pple still carry their infants in arm when travel in car leh.....my nieces were so used to being carried in arms or on the laps that they refuse to sit in the car seats, that's why SIL giving us hers....it's the front-facing type, not convertible.

chenoa, thanks so much for the info
happy.gif
will discuss with hubby first.. think have to change when baby outgrown the car seat.. keke..

by right, we should use the car seat from birth till 7 yrs old...
infant car seat is from 0 to 6mth i think
normally car seat can be from 6mth up to 4yo.
there are some from 0 to 4yo..
then after 4yo will be boaster seat..

hi hi gals who are going for postnatal massage, wonder wat is a good time for massage lady to come by n give us the massage. Morning, afternoon or evening? Have to keep the bind on for how long and can we wipe off the oil right after massage? IF not difficult to breastfeed ya

babe,
massage will be in the day, either in the morning or afternoon. Never in the evening. Timing wise, you can check with your massage lady your preferred time, but she may schedule her customers for the day according to where she needs to travel.

Hi Ladies,
Good Morning.....

Went for my chk up last friday @ week 34 bb is weighing 2.07kg current bb's head down liao but not engaged! Can c from the 3D scan bb got very chubby cheek!

Chenoa....
I miss my last lesson! How was the last lesson? Wat was it abt? U able to share the notes wif me?

My colleague is using MAS stroller, it is suitable to use for you love ones from 2mths to 5 years old and the price is not ex. About 150 to 200 only.

Re: What age must child seat be used till?

Was at BB Kingdom on Friday. There was tix paper from Traffic Police and also found this on web site. http://www.spf.gov.sg/seatbeltfaq/index.html

Re: Baby Pram and Child Seat

Well, m glad tat three ppl sponsoring both items and got them all from BB Kingdom as well since only Combi NU-500 has offer there.
kao_clap.gif

Actually was rather surprised that hb decided to use the $ other SIL sponsor 2 get a car seat; as my cousin has given one Graco second-hand one to us. He claimed that the one my cousin gave me was not clean lor and dun want ger to sit uncomfortably???

BTW, if u consider 2 getting car seat... for infant, must use rear facing one. N for child after 8 months old, then use front facing one.

If ur car's front side passenger seat got ABS, dun place infant car seat there.

good morning Winnie, ur bb also has chubby chin like Nixon huh?? keke.. beside chubby chin, Nixon has double chin like me too.. wahaha.. and ur bb's having a good weight huh
happy.gif

emon, to u have the pic of the MAS stroller? i nvr heard of this brand before, scouting around different design and brands..

koalarie, good for u huh.. can save alot on these items liao.. u went bb kingdom last week.. any promotion going on?
kao_sticktongue.gif

morning ladies

jumbo, hunnipot, according to traffic police, all children below age 8 have to have a child seat. (here is the link to traffic police http://www.spf.gov.sg/seatbeltfaq/) for babies, there are infant seats which allow the baby to lie in it safely. even if without the law, you really should put yr child in the car seat as it is really really not safe to hold yr child in yr arms. if <touchwood!> at any time yr hubby need to jam brake or if another car hits you, there is no way you will be able to hold on to your baby and s/he will fly out of yr arms and smash into the windscreen or the back of the front seats or wherever. it's so scary! you really don't want that to happen right! i hv seen pictures of these shown overseas when they show what happens in an accident. Sorry to be so uptight about this but I really find it so scary to hear people not wanting to keep their kids safe in a car

chenoa, re plush animal seat, i also think it's ex, but suggestion for yr fren wld be to target the expats. they hv more cash and are more likely to fork out for things like this. either use the expat websites or the expat mags or the expat bazzars to sell.

MOrning ladies,
Wah, thread moving so fast over the weekend!

1sttimemum,
I am going to collect the things from MIM tomorrow after my gynae appointment. Can you pm me your confirmed list? Have you already called them ahead of time to book the things? I called them on Thurs and they said the postpartum tea is in that's why I'm going.

sggal,
I am also with you in support of putting babies and young children in infant/child seat. Call me kiasi but I always think better safe than sorry. And looking at the crazy drivers on the roads nowadays. Why take the risk?

Yeah sure, last time we also never get to sit in infant/child seat but last time traffic also not that heavy. And we shouldn't keep on comparing to last time, since last time ppl hardly breastfeed and now we're all very willing to breastfeed. It's makes more sense to pay for such safety devices rather than spend on baby clothes/toys since this concern the life of the baby.

HOpe nobody gets offended. Just my 2 cents worth.
