When I did the calculation on the web, my one is predicted to be a gal...
but then hor...most of my colleagues predict mine is a boy...even my hubby n me oso got that strong feeling....dunno y...

don't think my leg cramps due to walking ard too much. Normally leg cramps are due to lack of sodium(salt). Besides, I always get leg cramps during the end of yr coz the weather is colder. My mum also has leg cramps frequently when she had me.

I tried the website before leh, but both times gave me different gender...so really doubt the accuracy...hahaha...

same here. Just did the gender prediction again and result is a girl. But my mum and I both think it's a boy coz I've grown uglier after pregnancy. haha...

Winnie, heee.. actually if compare pre-pregnancy, I'm a lot less active now. I still prefer to stay at home nowadays even though I didn't sleep. Don't really like crowded places 'cos I scare of people pushing me.

I also have leg cramps. Normally on the calves area. So pain that it will wake me up to straighten. Sometimes both legs gonna. =(

hi MTB,

Think I put on the most weight during my first trimester: about 2kg.

I also feel super tired, though not as bad as first tri. I wake up 10+ yst, went back to nap from 1pm - 3pm but laze on the bed unil 4pm. Then at night go to sleep at 11.30pm again. Now, I also seldom go out to shopping already. Just got no energy after work to do so.

First trimester need to deal with hormones changes, tiredness, ms etc.. now second trimester I need to deal with the horrible rash on my body... haiz.. tonight going to see GP again..
 
thanks, preciousbabe... my MIL said okie so me ate a few slices, (mangoes is my fav...) but when me told my mum that me had eaten a few slices of mangoes, got scolding. she said not good to bb's skin... and she asked, who said you can eat??? me juz kept quiet... so far my MIL allows me to eat anything, except cold drinks. but my mum has a long list of NO-NO things. sometimes, my FIL would ask me to eat things that was in my mum's NO-NO list one, me always have to tell him, - "me full liao... "

i got my first leg cramp 2 nights ago. i was actually awoken from sleep because of the pain. it's at the back of my left calf. until now still painful!

is it true it's because of a lack of sodium? if it is, i'm gonna start eating potato chips oredi! :)

i've been avoiding all sorts of junk food ever since i got pregnant. mainly because i have no appetite lah. so, my sodium intake has been drastically low.
 
I'm back from the airport. really tried very hard to fight my tears back when hubby checked in....

Hi Ladies,
a tip for those who experience leg cramps, my colleague told me that I should starting putting a pillow underneath the feet when sleeping...this is to help the blood to circulate n flow back...maybe you can try if it can help..

preciousbabe...don't be sad...just imagine by that time your hubby comes back, you'll be happier that your pregnancy has progressed another month liao

I tried the pillow last night, ok leh. Mayb I didn't stretch so much bah coz I love stretching my legs. Just use the normal pillow that u sleep can liao bah...or u used the small cushions is it?

only start buying nursing bras when we r in our 7th or 8th month coz our breasts will definitely grow bigger by then. If u r engaging CL, better do so now, coz heard from jasmintea that all good ones r fully booked by now...alot of pple giving birth next yr!!
 
For those experiencing leg cramps, one solution always work for me. When you first feel that your leg is cramping, try to stand up on both feet. The pain will go away immediately.

I heard that bird nest is too "cooling" so cannot take during first tri. Sister said can oso take after 5 mths. I also dunno to follow whose advice. I still take once a week, bottled type ones so effect not so great. Will take boiled one when maybe in my 4th month.

Yup, i taking a CL. Booked one month ago. I feel that CL is important so that she can cooked good stuff for the us to recover after birth and at the same time relieve us of taking care of the baby in the night for the 1st month.

I haven't buy any nursing bra yet. But bot some bigger size normal bras becos feel that the bras are getting tighter now.
 
smurfy, so does the CL go marketing herself? Coz my plc abit small. Dunno where CL gonna sleep...so dunno shld get or not...btw where u find ur CL?
 
hihi babe, yes yes, i just went to buy some bigger size bra on friday.. try to save $$ by wearing my usual but could not stand it any more, cuz think e breast will swell and we'll need to buy bigger cup bra..

but e weird thing is, e maternity wear i buy all require me to wear strapless bra, but there r no maternity bra tt is strapless, so end up, i just buy a bigger cup and size bra..

think pregnant super damaging on wallet.. maternity clothes and undergarments etc..

me calculate e other day, think i spend $1700 on gynae, $650 on clothes, $350 on low heels/ comfortable shoes, another $100 on bra.. think in spore no $$ really cannot have bb, how to afford???

Babe, I got problem booking a CL like I told Preciousbabe. The good ones are usually booked way in August/September. I called in mid Sep also too late. I got one which is pending now but I'm not comfortable with the way she communicated with me so far 'cos she kept getting my EDD wrong. One moment, she said I'm dec and another moment she said I'm June. I wonder if she will turn up on the right date finally. I'm now in dismay also as I do not wish to go to agent if possible. So if you want to get a CL, start to contact them now.

Kyla, I think I had spent about the same as you. Already spent about $800 on maternity and bigger size clothes, $120 on bras and $$120 on low heel shoes and gynae's visit about $1,200 also.

Winnie, exactly! I was being pushed by an aunty at the crowded City Hall MRT and I nearly fell down. I was so angry and stared at her but she ignored me and continue to push. I told her, can you don't push? She still don't bother leh. Hai~

Usually the first time your hubby will bring her to the markets near to your house and pay for the things she buy. Subsequently, she will go herself. I got my CL contact thru a relative who have used her twice before.

I also very scare of pple pushing me. ALways have this thought in my mind that I fall down flat on the ground. Yst went Metro warehouse sale at Expo also quite worried. Lousey sale, poor organisation.

no ler. I use normal sleeping pillow for my legs. But yesterday nite no cramp coz hubby massage 4 me. He does really gd massages. Told him he can work as part-time masseur liao.

Me oso got phobia going to crowded places nowadays. Coz mayb now our tummy still not obvious enough. Dat's y most ppl will c us as fat rather than preg so will not give way to us lor.
I find dat dose ppl who dun give way r usually aunties n kids lor. (Not trying 2b prejudice hor but based on my past encounters) Cannot understd dis aunties' behaviour. As if they nvr preg b4.

how come? Izit bcoz of bb's position or legs closed? U muz have felt disappointed lor. But nvm lar still got d next visit mah. From now till d next one, keep telling ur little darling to b guai n open legs wide wide 2 show mummy &amp; daddy his/her gender on d next visit. Dis is wat I did to my little princess. (keep nagging everyday)

I also don't wish to spend leh. I had already cut down my expenses by 50% liao heeee... You are right that possibly people are not aware that we are pregnant so they don't care. So dangerous for us leh. Hai~ So we just got to do our part and avoid crowded places instead.

Please remember to keep your gynea receipts. You can claim fm Medisave up to $450. My gynea advise me to bring the receipts to hospital the day I'm going for delivery.
Anyone consider storing of baby cord?

hmm....u all sure spend alot on maternity clothes and shoes. For my case, I think I spent abt $400 on clothes bah. Currently I have 12 tops, most of which can last me till full term, 2 capri pants and 1 long black pants. As for shoes, only bought 1 recently from URS at $27. I'm still able to fit into my current bras with the help of the extensions so no need to buy yet.

Talking abt crowded places, I dont care ah, still go. Was pushed ard while boarding the bus by another pregnant woman and I stared at her. So wat if she's bigger than me, we r of the same status mah.

I've met alot of inconsiderate passengers on the train after my pregnancy and I've come to realise that all these people have wasted their parents' $ to send them for education coz they dont have any brains to think for others.
So wat I do is, I started wearing maternity clothes since my 3rd mth so that pple know that Im pregnant. If pple push me, I push them back one, like I say I dont care. Of coz I dont push the elderly or pregnant women but I'll push the younger generation. As for aunties, I'll scold them one lor...hehe...i very fierce hor...but no choice leh since we r living in a society of uneducated pple.

My hubby and I have decided to donate the cord blood to the cord blood bank. No point keeping for our own use either. Abit selfish leh coz there might be pple out there really in need of the bllod and perhaps ours is the right match for them? Think abt it lor though they say that if u donate and if one day (touch wood) your bb needs it, then will have difficulty finding a match. That's y certain pple decides to keep it for their own use.

I too ve leg cramps .. but not sodium in-take, i guess.. as I consider I am a person who likes salty things ...

REad up somewhere that it is normal during preg.. the solution is to massage legs before sleep.. so far, it has helped me almost every night. Also, dun cross legs when u sit. So trying hard not to cross legs. =p

Been taking bird nest every week as my buddy too has been doing so n she recommended to take till end of 2nd trimster.. so far, i dun see why it will cause much a problem. Xcept avoid bardley, grass jelly, watermelon and long banana.

Recently have spent quite a fair bit of clothes.. suddenly seems like my stomach seems to be growing bigger and bigger.. ahhhhh... dunno can grow big or not. =(

At least starting to ve ppl giving up seats for me. =p but doesn't matter.. so long the crowd does not push and hurt me n baby. (me working in Raffles place area.. n so morning rush can b quite bad).

Anyway, I am dead excited .... this Sat.. will know baby gender.. A bit dunno should know or should not know. My hb the only son.. so a little bit stressful.. chinese calendar said baby boy but my own mom's friend calculated female.. hope my in-laws dun b too disappointed if female. =)

Anyway, sacredly my baby covers himself/herself during checkup then Dr Lisa will not be able to tell the gender... heeheee.. =p

Saw the msg on the confinement nanny thing.. I am also concerned on this matter.

My MIL and mom are very nice ppl... but my MIL has to take care of the unmarried siblings at her home and her hb.. her health wasn't good while my mom dun mind taking care of baby.. but stressed to cook @ my home (my old home is small n has no place for me to go over so cannot confine over there).

Then last two nights, my mom suggested hiring a nanny for me. My cousin recommended this nanny's service. She's a Malaysian... abt $1600.

I read so much on confinement nannies that I am a bit scared of them... n worse to trust her take care my unborn baby and my family.

Dun like strangers in house and my hb be changing job to one that requires to travel overseas once a month.. but my mom said ladies after birth should rest > and walk <.. n nannies should do all this.

How????

Anybody tot of getting a maid instead to help?? What is the overall cost and things that I need to consider getting a maid? Philippine? Or Indonesian? Or Cambodian?How I know if they are good at taking care babies and families?

Hmm...if u intend to get a maid, then must find one that has experience in confinement and taking care of bb...otherwise, in the end u still have to waste $ to get another confinement lady. Isn't it the same that maids are also strangers? Furthermore if the CL is recommended and proven trustworthy by your relative, y not engage her service?

like i said, my hb b flying on and off of country next year.. n leaving me alone @ home /w baby. the confinement nanny only take care of me for 28 days and that is it.

So instead of looking @ short term... may consider long term.

The confinement lady still cannot give a confirmation answer to my mom.. she told her to call back on 21st after she is back in Malaysia so that she can check her schedule.

I am scared that later pay the $ already then last minute she cannot make it.. and send for some tom-dick-harry to take care of me n baby how??? =(

Don't want to panic then..

BTW, when do you pay for this nanny service? Only when she completes the confinement?? Or half before and half after? And is there a contract that needs to be signed and indicate that she has to be the one taking care of us?

me getting maid also..but think still need CL cos they know how to take care of newborns..dun think maid can handle..gotta fet CL to teach the maid b4 CL leaves...

regarding ur concern. The agent quoted me $1600 since I oni need the CL to take care of my new born. She would ask u if u stay with family, any kid, so fr there she can roughly gauge how much work CL needs to perform.

For first time mummies, usually is $1600. They are mostly M'sian aunties. Quite difficult to find S'porean CL. These M'sian CL perform CL duties almost every mth, the way they handle baby like we handle shopping bag la, hehe...bb become toy in their hands. When I carried my NB, he became so FRAGILE, scared scared.
I need to pay agent $400, after the 28 days, give CL $1200. Levy is $7 a day, so 7x28=$196. May be "yi si yisi" 2 ang pow for CL (this is up to u) so I thot overall still ok.

This is my second child (if successful). I was tinking son will sleep in my room. Helper, CL and new born in another room. I will pump out my milk so tt I dun need to do night feeding. CL will handle all these chores. At the same time my helper could learn from her. Hubby, son and me can sleep till shiok shiok, heehee.

Regarding maid/helper, mine is Indonesian. I find Philipino too smart. Look at those sexy maid in lucky plaza, imagine they wear skimpy top at your house... ...
But it also depends on your LUCK. And we can not be so "ngiao". If they are as good as us, they won't become maid. I build relationship with my helper, treat her like my family member.
However, it will incur extra cost. So if u want to go to restaurant and eat, I will usually let her eat first (packet food for her), then she can take care of your bb and you n hubby can enjoy the meal. Some people misunderstood employer ill treat maid, they makan maid has no food. But we need to justify our finance as well, agree? Let say we have italian, ea costs $25, we can't possibly let her have this kind of food (she may not like it too). Perhaps she enjoys a $3 mutton biryani more. They were taught in training school and dun expect to eat in the restaurant.

But at home, she could eat anything she likes, finished just need to tell me. Since I let her have anything, she will not steal. I mean there are a lot of tips, if u r interested, can chat with me, think I'm too "lor soh" la, heehee, paisay ya.

Happy holidays everybody,
Just came back from shopping, very tired. Brought 6 pieces of maternity clothing at last.

I just realise something, the maternity pants I brought from compass point is not as comfortable as those I brought in those neighbour shops. They are twice as expensive also, and I did not receive the kind of customer service I get from those neighbour shop.

I realise another thing. It is very difficult to find cheap and good looking maternity clothing. Most of them either make us look like hopspital wear before operation or auntie. *sign*
