(2006/04) April 2006 MTB

miu66,
got to use flash to take this picture because KJ head although can hold very high but the picture still come out very blur. He like to be in this position and talk to me a lot but not for very long. Did not put KJ in this position because always forgot to do that.

Evon, there's a Jurong West spree for Healthy Times still on. The 10% discount is till 5 aug. If Apr thread is starting a spree, I'm keen too. Maybe the Toa Payoh/AMK/Bishan mommies can participate and arrange for free delivery to everyone?

Hei.. FP jumperoo also not bad huh... can train walking, yet confined to the surrounding only. Wont have the problem of knocking down furnitures.

Hunnie
Do u also have this FP jumperoo?? hehe.. u seem to have all baby stuffs.. Any comments on the leapfrog exersaucer? Amanda loves it?

Tiffany,

Haha! Dont have lar... actually quite tempted after seeing miu's post.. but think i better stop here.. otherwise kena chop by my hubby into 1000 pieces

Yup! Amanda loves it! She was happily talking to herself and whacking the piano keys pretty hard! Violent girl...

Hunniepot,
Your ger so cute in the exersaucer and she can reach the toys on it. Yst I tried my son on one at Kidsmall (think its safety 1st brand). He cannot reach the toys and he seems uninterested after a while.
Too bad I miss this time BP for leapfrog exersaucer.

I would like to check you those flash cards provided by Mr. Koh are they the same as the ones from GD baby?

I am quite interested in the ones by GD baby. I called up to enquire.
Their Prices:
1)GD Baby's Reading Kit (English) - $480 (less $30 if you already have the book)
2)GD Baby's Chinese Reading Kit - $480 (less $30 if you already have the book)
3) Glenn Doman How To Teach Your Baby Math Deluxe Kit - $360

The salesperson said if can get more 5 people to
buy both the Chinese and English sets together, she might be able to give 20% disct (but can only confirm disct once order is in). If you buy individually, you can get 10% disct.

The good thing about this GDbaby is that they provide unlimited training sessions (both beg and advance). If you give birth to another child, they will come to your house personally to teach you how to use again (1 time)

that's a cute pic! Amanda seems to have pretty good hand control! K is still a bit uncoordinated with her hands, just wants to put everything in her mouth! We put her in one of these exersaucer things (dunno what brand, but yrs looks better) at Kiddy Palace but she seemed to just slump in the seat, could't really reach the toys

jumperoo
it's real fun but takes up quite abit of space. i'm going to buy either this or the exersaucer this month, trying very hard to resist buying both!!! my friend said her son lurvvved this from 4mths onwards and it made his legs very strong
happy.gif

solids
all the april bbs will be turning 4mths old in the coming month, anyone planning to start their bb on solids? i'm still thinking abt it, deciding if i should wait till the 5th month as there is apparently no real advantage of starting earlier. any thoughts to share??

smurfy

I did ask Mr Koh b4 if his cards are printed in accordance to GD design, he did mention that it is not printed exactly like GD designs... however he is a student of GD, he actually travelled all the way to the US just to attend his classes... so guess the methods shld be more or less the same bah... And he also provides free trainings too...

The GD cards are super expensive leh!! Think my hb confirm chop off my head if I purchase GD cards... :p

miu66

IMHO,

Why be in such a hurry to intro solids to our babies? They have their whole life ahead to take in solids, and 2 of the PDs I went to only recommend solids when baby is about 5 to 6 mths old.. and they did mention to breastfeed (if breastfeeding) exclusively for the 1st 6 mths of life...

Perhaps my girl has good hands coordination is prob cos she is already 4.5 mths old
happy.gif
One of the older babies here...

Hunniepot,

yup, I know he is a student of GD cos he did mention that day. Thats why I am wondering if his cards are the same.

Actually after calculation, the cards from GD costs $0.54 per card. The ones from Mr. Koh costs $0.61. So Mr. Koh's cards are actally more expensive than GD :p

My hubby super cheapo, also don't want to buy the GD cards. He said the english ones he will write himself. Then he will get the maths card from Mr.Koh (is your BP still on) and the DVD on how to use the maths cards from GDbaby...haiz..

smurfy,

My hb even more cheapo than yours... he wanted to print the cards from his office's colour printer! Told him I dont have the patience to paste each card onto a stiffer card used for flashing...

Yup, the BP is still on.. will retrieve it from archive later

We just got safety 1st exersaucer as a gift yesterday. KJ feet cannot reach the bottom tray even I set the height to be the lowest. He did not sit on it for long because his head is not very firm yet. He was interested in the toys but he did not touch them, just look at them. Looking at the pictures, the toys leapfrog exersaucer provide is nearer to the seat than safety 1st. Safety 1st got a "car track" all round the seat and the whole thing can be converted to a playset when your bb grow older, something like a big car racing track like that. However, the music from the house was too soft. One good thing is that it got more toys than leapfrog, but leapfrog piano with light look more interesting.

I will take a picture with my son inside when he is awake.

Hello mommies..

I am back..

I so bo fan xin that today took urgent leave to bring Xuanting and my mom to her PD and also do her jab.

Here is what I got from my PD.

PD did say, it is recommended that bbs be taking solids after 6months. Previously was 4months. Any case, the system was implemented 5~6 years ago n so many ppl still think 4months to start solids.

So I told her of Xuanting was having half scoop of brown rice cereal (powdered form) added into her milk.

This PD got three children and all 3 also started solids around 4th month.

The concern which IMO has, becoz based on survey and research, the allegries of asmatha, skin irritation and ..(one more) can't remember.. starts to appear at later stage of lives for some bbs that started solids.

The concern is allegies.. if any parents have, it is better to avoid giving solids till 6th month.

So, for Xuanting, since she is doing fine with her brown rice cereals and in fact more radiant and her poo (After describing to PD) is good so we should continue lo. =p

Here is the little rascal playing

Pic1
Maybe got too many toys till Xuanting dunno which to play first.

Pic2
O.. she hits one n so happy.

Tiffany - Lucas hair nice nice...no need to cut lar....i will cut J's hair coz have lots of lobang here and there and somemore growing upwards so tickle my face whenever i carry him leh.

1st time seeing L upclose....he's got very nice skin....just like his mummy arr.

hi gals,

need to ask u all something..

my MIL is feeding my ger 4oz every 2 hour, is that normal? cuz my ger dun sleep well/ nor long in e day time (20 mins - 1hr max), but she always fall asleep while nursing.. so e plan is always feed her milk then she'll fall asleep.. i know it's bad.. first no burp, 2nd she only can fall asleep nursing (bad habit), 3rd too frequent worried tt her stomach cannot take it, or become bad eating habit (but she always finished e bottle)..

my ger is 6.6kg/ coming 4 mths old.. how much should she be drinking.. is it ok? her drinking habits? there is nothing much i can do cuz i do not know how to make her sleep other than feeding her, cuz e moment we put her down in e cot, she will cry.. either that we will have to carry her to sleep.. i'll choose e lesser of 2 evils, feeding her.. which is just as bad? anyone got any solution?

Rach/Mel
I dun think i will shave L's hair. Most likely, just trim. I also love smelling his hair lei ..keke

Hear fm some old folks. when bb 4th month, got to shave hair etc?? Aiyoh... my mum asked me to shave L's hair, while MIL said not to shave....#&$#*

teenie

Sure.. will inform Mr Gu about your request...

Rach

You dont scare me leh... I just shaved Amanda's hair yesterday.. and am hoping that her hair will grow back fast fast!

Tiffany,

Lucas has a very nice lock of hair... dont shave lar... I would have tried to save Amanda's hair if my hubby wasnt so insistent on shaving her
sad.gif
He shaved her and accidentally cut her ear
sad.gif

hunniepot - OMG!! Hope Amanda is ok. What did he use to shave her? Electric shaver or the traditional type? If I were you I would have fainted on the spot.

kyla - to calculate how much you should be feeding, take (weight x 20) for the lower range and (weight x 25) for higher range.

You did not mention if giving FM or BM. If BM, every 2 hrs is ok though by now your BB should be able to last 3-4 hrs. If giving FM, seems like a bit excessive leh coz FM takes longer to digest.

i think a few of us here hv BBs that dun sleep much but personally I dun resort to feed-to-sleep. In fact once J starts to doze off while feeding, I pull the nipple out to stop the habbit of snooze feeding.

A few of us uses the method that Kolarie read from a book where we need to put BB to sleep every 2 hrs and most mum seems to feedback positively abt the method.

Mel,

Surprisingly Amanda didnt cry when her ear was hurt.. maybe it was delayed reaction.. she started fussing only after a short while after being cut... he used the electric type of shaver esp used for cutting hair... really hated the idea of shaving her.. but hubby said it will help her grow grow faster and more in future...

Hunniepot,
got question to ask.

Xuanting was having her 2nd 5-in-1 jab and actually my PD wanted to give her 2nd dose of rotavirus vaccine but remember u mention armanda was vomitting after the dose?

I told her.. she said shouldn't be as she has not have any mommies feedback on this issue le.

So wonder apart from rotavirus vaccine, what was armanda given?

Xuanting went for haircut 2day at my mom's place... the lady dressers ve been wanting to meet her... n surprisingly she was quite okay with haircut.. n it costs us only $5. = )

So, be taking photos of her over the weekend.

Any mommies have started to source for walkers to buy???

TO share with me the info.. k?

BTW, the healthtimes information, thanks.. I will check out if can get the supplier's name.

Going between Toa Payoh/Hougang and Jurong area not a problem since Sengkang is near to these two areas and Jurong, becoz of my mom's place..

Will keep you update. = )

Put KJ on it again. This time he still stare at the toys and he sit a bit longer. Realise that one of his feet is able to touch the bottom chair. He can also turn himself using his hands (haha, never thought of this).

kolarie,

ME! sourcing for walker too. MIL wants the convenience loh. Personally, i like exersaucer see so many bbs enjoying exersaucer, feel like buying also leh.... Mommies who bought the leapfrog, do u think it can last till 24 or 36 mths? if can use till 12 mths at least, i will consider buying. COMMENTS PLS??

If strongly recommended, perhaps can organise a quick BP.

hunnie
thank god its only a minor cut. ya.. i cant bear to shave Lucas too. dun care wat old folks say... hb's father also shaved botak when he was 1st mth, now also a bald man liao. I believe its all in the genes loh.

So sad to really miss the BP when I see all of your babies enjoying it soo much.

My boy had his hair shaved during his 1mth but the hair is quite slow

476594.jpg

Btw, any mummies out there has applied a passport for your babies? How long does it take? I intend to bring my boy to genting in Sep to celebrate my niece birthday.

des,
Just apply KJ passport online, but it does not tell me how long it will take. It only say that it will let me know when to collect the passport online.

Evon

Apart from the rotavirus and the 5-in-1, she had the pneumococal jab too.. called my PD and he mentioned that Amanda merlion becos of the rotavirus leh...

Maraquan, I have checked the site. It takes 3 processing days. But can I check how u took ur KJ's photos? The background has to be in white.
