hi! i'm new here, reading so much of the post realise that what happen to me for the last 3 months plus is very normal.ha ha.

Maraquan:- mine is my mil ask me to stop BF and is not because she scare my isaac not having enough. is she dont like the bond between me and my son. coz' my son will look for me for comfort feed as well. bascially i ignore her but my hubby got a little sensative thought i have hidden unhappines towards my mil.

jasminetea, i've just came back to work and i'm experience exactly what you went thru. i've also cry a lot and feeling very sore abt it. dont worry i believe our little one will understand as we have no choice as we work hard for them.

my boy on Enfalac A+ and i m following the charts. At times if he does not much water that day i add additional 10ml of water . I also dun hv those fishy smell. I think yours is a bit diluted.
 
Hi mummies,

My boy is due for jab soon. Do u think it is advisable to hv 5 in 1 jab, pneumococcal and rotavirus all on the same day. High chance to hv fever????

i m still thinking whether to do it together or hv pneumococcal jab on other days.

Any suggestions?

when i took K for her jabs (6-in-1 and oral rotavirus vac) on tues, her PD said that pneumococcal was not necessary right away cos
a) we're not planning to travel with her anytime soon
b) she's an only child now
c) she's not in childcare right now
so very low risk. also, chance of having fever depends on the child's body/resistance, not the number of jabs. in any case, K only had slight fever and was cranky on wednesday. i gave the fever med twice that day and she's been fine since. hope this helps

I second what mui66 said.

Pneumococcal vaccine if taken at below 6mths, requires at least 4dosages. Each jab at least $190 (charges from my PD).

N furthermore, our bb not going to childcare centre yet and so don't think need to give her jab so soon.

After discussions with my hb, we let XT take the vaccine ard 7th - 15th month jab as during this time, they won't've any jabs and thus no complications then.

I think my mil is also jealous with me, she kept asking ah ma carry and mommy carry not the same meh. My boy really got a cough now, instead of blaming my mil for passing the cough to him, my husband said I drink too much green tea. arggggh.

I let my duaghter take all 3, pneumococcal, rotavirus and 5-in-1 on the same day.. my girl didnt get fever, only lethargic for that night thats all.. but my hb's colleague (a 3rd time mother, just gave birth in Jan) was shocked when she heard that, and said it is not good for baby to take all three at one time, not good for her, and she suspected the PD wanted to make more money... hmm.. I didnt bring her to my normal PD as he was on vacation then..

we are suppose to bring him to take his jab today, however pd is on leave, so got to wait until 12th.

Took his weight using my own weighing machine. He weights 6.5kg now and is 62cm.

i wanted him to have pneumococcal bcos i may sent him to infantcare. However, this is not confirm yet and not going to decide in this month.

When i decided to sent him then jab can? mean could be 1 mth or less after his 5in1 jab.

Not too sure leh.. think best to ask your PD.. i wanted the pneumococal jab cos my grandma, FIL and SIL all passed away due to pneumonia.. (cos maybe they were all immobile b4 they passed away) so just want to play safe..

yah, better do that. during my girl's 6wk PD visit, the PD already advised to keep all commitments light after the 3mth jab, in case she gets sick.

i hv not decided what will be the arrangement. Depending on the company arrangement. If i got to travel extensively then it will be nanny lor.

There are pros and cons for nanny and infantcare but if i dun travel then i prefer infantcare as he get to interact and also development skills is better. For nanny it will be pure on basic needs and if i can i dun really want to buy another cot, toys etc...

u know someone in our area wanted to be nanny?
 
wanted to ask you all, do your baby pees a lot at night? I realise Sherlene dun pee so much at night... I dun have to change diaper at niight.. is it normal?

i noticed that too. In the morning when i change his diaper i found that not every heavy, maybe they sleep so much and forget to pee.
 
Irene I also dun change diaper at night. Even she wakes up for feed, feed already go back to sleep. Used to change b4 I feed her but she ended up screaming so decided no point. Heehee.

Hunni, can add one more person to the session? Mandy also an April mum who is interested. Btw, where in TP u stay? heehee...can accomodate all of us? ke ke ke
 
Aiya, my gal today abit warm...37.1-37.5 degrees after the 5-in-1 jab..dunno izzit fever or she juz warm after feeding and napping...Hope she's fine..gave her a dose of medicine..PD still saying the jab 95% fever free..

Sherlene's last feed at 9+pm and will wake up at 4+am for the next feed. Sometimes, 5+am then wakes up. then sleep till 9+am for the next feeding

With regards to the flash cards class, the instructor can only make it at 11 am next sat (15th July). Ok with you ladies? Do let me know? He mentioned that that there is no need to bring baby along, but will be good if you can bring them along also

Maraquan: Ya, u r so right! my hub now keep saying i shouldnt have hidden unhappines towards my mil. I do not have any unhappiness towards her. Jus that i find her giving my bb too much chinese med. after bath, she give him eat "jin feng san" after that give him drink "fei zai sui" before we bring home insist i give him eat pearl powder. dont u thk my poor bb has so much things in his body? hiaz!! then i told my mil only bb gals eat pearl powder. my stupid hub instead helping me.. he insist his mom is right. i feel so dejected! what boils me was during the whole of 2 mths no one wants to pacify him to slp, so now he can slp with b/f (comfort feed) everyone blames me and give so much stupid comments. Hate it man!

Bumbo:-
Saw so many cute babies sitting on bumbo very tempted to buy. but then letting my little prince sit, he seems to big for the chair alr. Hiaz i got to give up the thought.

how big is yr son? my girl is quite chubby (7.5kg) and she can fit into her bumbo. it's quite a snug fit but it needs to be like that so that it can provide adequate support for the baby.

Just collected my bumbo today. Let my girl tried and she seems comfortable. But her head is still not too stable.

my girl's head is pretty stable but sometimes it still wobbles (it's v funny when this happens!) when she sits in the bumbo. i shall post up a pic when i get around to reducing the size of it.

today, hubby and i took her swimming for the 1st time! she seemed to enjoy it, maybe she thought she was in a giant bath

Evon, I also have the pump. Used it during the first few weeks to relieve engorgement and promote ss. Stopped pumping for alomost 8 weeks liao, so it's now in my cupboard waiting for re-enlistment. hahaha

I would say that it serves me satisfactorily, can't comment much 'cos I have not tried other pumps before. I chose it after research that it's quieter than Medela and the motor is comparable to the PIS so it's a better product to Medela dual. There's two knobs to control the suction and frequency, to suit your need and comfort. Can consider Babe's offer.

Paiseh, I'll try to update at the begining of each month. For convenience, if you have info for my update, pls post during the last week of the month (preferably within the last 3 days of closing of the month).

DOn;t panic.If baby eating so many chinese med and did not have any problem ,just let it be lor. You have no choice, unless u discuss with ur MIL ,hope she don;t give baby too much chinese med."FEI ZAI SHUI" no need give everyday.I week twice enough, because baby still very small.When baby grow up, than can drink more,because baby drinking milk powder, so need to drink this, if not baby difficult to pass motion. But for pearl powder ,i heard only eat when baby within 40 days since baby born and "jing feng san ,actually no need to eat also, since baby did not get frighten.Maybe can tell u MIL don;t give me "Jin Feng San" lor.U can say in indirect way and won;t get offend to u MIL lor....We have no choice, we cannot take care our baby by our own...
 
hey, bbs in bumbo very cute leh.

i did not get bumbo bcos i m worry my boy may not fit it for long since he is quite big size and also has big fat tummy. hahaha a true fei zai.

Beside bumbo, any other similar stool/chair which is around in the market?

Aiya my gal after 5-in-1 on fri today still cranky. Like 2 hrs wan milk n keep pulling at my nipple after 10 min. Change sides then she quiet awhile. Dunno she get hind milk or not. Difficult to put her to nap.. keep crying.

How come u gals tbf bb so big? Mine still small..3 mths weigh only 5.42kg. Muz eat wat to increase. How long do u gals tbf now? Me still abt 30 min

my CL gave my boy eat pearl powder already when he is maybe 2nd week... she say boyboy eat 1 time enough liao.

I also dunno why tbf bb become so big, all along people kept telling me that tbf will be smaller than formula bb. Maybe the fastest way to shut them up is to ofter the nipple, that is why they are so big.

The instructor was saying that he is unable to confirm the date for other saturdays, as he might go overseas leh.. he will confirm with me at a later date if he can make it on 29th July afternoon, will post updates here..

Guess it is never too early to start using flash cards on our babies, read from somewhere that the best time for us to teach our babies is from age 0 to 3 years, that is the time when they can absorb most things around them.. my kiasu mother has been trying to get me to attend the course when I was preggie, so I can teach Amanda once she is born hehe.. she got so fed up waiting for me to start that she called him on my behalf... so am trying to get other mothers to attend the class together

I totally agree with you, guess my baby is big sized now cos I usually allow her to suckle on my breasts for comfort.. I have to latch her on for comfort b4 she sleeps every night...and I guess it is due to genes as well... as both me and hb are big sized too...

yep, definitely agree with both of you regarding comfort suckling and genes. apparently both me and hb were pretty chubby as babies too. the only downside to having a chubby baby is that it's very hard to carry her for long periods of time!!

Both your girls are quite big size. I think my girl is so much smaller. At 3 mths, she is only 4.88kg. But pd said she is ok for her weight gain as she is born small.

BTW Xuanting's weight for her 2nd months should be 5.7kg. As for 3rd month, is 6kg.

Hmm.. Xuanting is taking the bao yi dan frm Eu Ren Sheng.

Remember the issue on her tongue got white white thing?? My mom placed a bit of bao yi dan on her tongue during bathing n during weekends noticed that the white white thing is gone and she's eating slightly better than previously.

Frankly I have never seen her able to finish her 120ml of milk one short but so far quite good with occasional a single burp time and finished her milk less than 20 minutes.

With chinese medication oso kinds to keep her healthy too, i feel.

Frankly dun really like western medication. Find that it seems to make Xuanting sleepy after taking. She took before the fever medication and anticolic medication from PD and both I found her more sleepy and zombie.

Me bought a second hand one since dunno how long xuanting can sit b4 she grows too big for it.. but not collected yet.

Have been quite hectic jangling between work, housework, bb and peronal time for myself. Really seemed to lose touch of this world when my friends/colleagues asked me on some news. Haahaaa..

miu66: my baby boy is now coming to 16 weeks, 7.9kg lei. but i see him sit like kanna stuck in the chair. i try to post but my photo seems to big be upload.

Sigh, the peal powder a lot of pple also tell me that boy boy cannot eat so much. but then......hiaz *cross finger and toes must be patient hahaha!

I wanted to bring my little boy to swi today but then rain whole day sob sob.. guess have to wait till next week.
