CassCL

Sorry to hear abt your loss.

There's a mommy staying in London now. She's ET over at Feb mommies thread. You might wanna chat with her.

CassCl - I stayed in Scotland & Wales too. Last time I was in UK was in 2000. Quite a long while back. Most of my time was spent in London though. Maybe can visit you during my next trip there.

Hw long will you be there?

Rena/Clare;
i tell myself that too, that timing is not right and God knows best. Going thru' it once is bad enough...i admire & salute the both of you for still being so strong & positive despite going thru' it a 2nd time 2nd time. i agree with tracy, mummies are the strongest.

Clare, i can relate to your fear when u were preggers with Ashley cos i'll feel the same if i conceive again.

Mashy, thanks for the tipoff, will suss her out!

CassCL, sorry for ur loss. Great that u can stay positive. Take care gal. =)

Cindy/Rena/Clare, u gals r really great. To go thru wat u did and still looking forward to hving more bbs. Very brave. I think u all can be motherhood poster gals. =)

I got a friend who delivered a stillborn last November. She's still in depression n is frightened to get pregnant again. She refuses to talk to anyone even doctors. I happened to sms her the other day n found out about her depression. Tried to get her to join us on the forum but she refuses. =( Can only pray for her now.

Sandra

U might wanna refer your friend to the forum thread for miscarriages/still borns. I also have a friend here who delivered still born at 7mths. So sad... She was also from the Feb MTB thread. She's recovering well now.

CassCL,
I had my 1st boy in London, was staying there for 7 years. Now that Rory is starting to take semi-solids, you'll have an exciting time experimenting with fruits and veg that we can't find or is sooooooo expensive in Singapore. I used to give my boy rubarb, fennel, artichoke, swede, parsnip and fresh petit pois, and lots of fresh herbs......

CassCL,

i had a miscarriage in Sep 04...till now i think abt still feel like crying..can understand how you feel..but life still need to go on..and stay positive...
was lucky that i get pregnant again in Apr 05..and very unexpected.

Hi CassCl,

Yep, I did travel to London quite a bit btwn 95-2000. It also helps that I have a paternal aunt and a maternal cousin who are married to Brits too. I also have a maternal aunt who travels a lot into London for work. Her company owns a hotel in the Kensington area. So I still have lots of news updates of UK.

Used to live in a hse with the garden facing the River Thames. Remember when I 1st arrived, I was asked if I wanted to row a canoe all the way into London. It's was a freezing winter & I was smart to decline
happy.gif
I also travelled rather extensively when I was there.

I wld usually take the Britrail from Staines into London. Only used the car when travelling in the outskirts. Then, exchange rate was abt $2.50 to a pound. Now. it's almost $3.00 to a pound.

London is a place u either like or hate! Well, I love it and I hope you will enjoy your stay there
happy.gif
Now, I am reminiscing about the time I was there. Oh boy!

U know, it's a good opportunity to travel Europe & it's cheaper to fly to US from there
happy.gif
Will bring Cephas there when he's old enough

denmy,

think this year will pak toh with my 2 sons and him together at home...

after five years..focus is different...hahahaha

Hi mummies,
checking for a colleague. Does anyone knows whether SGH gives out empty glass bottles for storing EBM? I know Gleneagles does but my colleague delivers in SGH, so she is wondering if she can get the bottles from there too.

Cass,

Sorry about your loss. Meanwhile, enjoy your time with Rory. Must be really busy now with the relocation. Especially with a baby. I think Denmy delivered her first baby in London.

After your relocation, you can still come and chat with us here or at MSN. that's the convenience of internet!

SH,

I delivered my gal at SGH. No one offered me any empty glass bottles. I didn't ask either. I think your colleague can help herself? There's nursing room at the postnatal ward there are sterilised empty glass bottles there.

Just for info, I enjoyed my experience at SGH. The nurses at the delivery wards are very nice and encouraging. So are the nurses at the postnatal wards. The only minus pt is that they are not very educated on BF so you need to do a lot of work on your own.

Sandra;
Very sad for your friend. I cannot imagine anything worse. Agree with rachel that the most impt thing is to open up and talk about it.

Have an acquaintance whose sister had to induce & deliver her baby at 8 months cos gynae found out both the baby's kidneys were not functioning. This means baby will have zero chance of survival even if carried to full-term. Apparently, she was even alive for a few minutes after delivery before she passed away. I cried when i heard her story.

Babylon;
I guess the experience might be a dim & distant memory now, deep down it still hurts to think about your baby. What's most important is your 'unexpected gift'! And happy 5th anniversary!

casscl,

its really sad to hear bout yr sis's acquaintance .. i think its so much pain to go thru...

babylon,

happy anniversary!!

all other mummies,

any other mummies want the kit?

Denmy;
i'm looking forward to feeding rory all the 'ang moh' veggies too. Where did u live in london? How did u cope being a new mum in a foreign country? Sorry so many qns!

Sysac;
You're lucky to have relatives in london. i hardly know anyone.

i enjoyed my stay in london during the recce trip..though the cold was killing me. was early summer and only 15 degrees in the day! totally understand why you dont want to row down the river thames in the middle of winter!

Yup i'm looking forward to travel Europe, especially if we can find someone to babysit rory or we'll have to bring him along.

CassCL
oh man... i cant take it anymore... was blinking my eye after read your post on the sister you mention ed of her poor baby... cant cry now, if not will scare my colis. very depressed to learn of all these unhappy incidents...

come to think of it, im really really blessed with a smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby.

babylon
Happy 5 years! there will be more 5 years for you and your hb =)

sysac,
Thanks for the explanations! I tink I will try cook the brown rice soon. *Lazy mum here. Heehee!*

Krissie,
The Leappad lady doesnt have an office. Collect from her hse in woodlands. I m still waiting for her to reply me on the book titles that she has. I tink she mentioned she is at her mum's place this week. Got to wait for her to go back home to check. Sigh!

Babylon,
Happy anniversary!

CassCL - Hw old is Rory? Yep, summer is not really summer sometimes. Went to Scotland one summer. Was wearing jeans & jacket cos it was 10 Deg c in the afternoon.

Miscarriages - My cousin was expecting abt the same time as I was last yr. We were so happy cos thelittle ones wld have comapnions to play with. Her baby was due in Oct. Baby boy was a gift as she was married for 10 yrs. During a routine scan in Jun, found out that the baby's heartbeat was no longer beating. She had to go thru induction to gif birth to the baby. The whole family just hugged & cried. What a sad experience. I cry everytime I think abt Baby Alex. He's in Heaven now as a guardian angel.

cassCL
so sorry to hear about that. i had missed abortion b4 having this gal too. i can understand how you feel.
happy.gif
cheer up! your #1 needs you. you can pm me if you want to.

i m a full time vegetarian! are you?
i intend to give my gal solid food when she reaches 6 mths. the food would be cereal, vege and fruits. just the same kind of food like other mummies will give to their bbs except adding the meat.

Mummies,

it is not esay having a bb so all mummies should give themselves a pat on the shoulders.. well when i had my second miscarridge i went into depression too.. quite bad case but i manage to recover .. then got pregnant again then during pregnancy.. you gals know the story right about my hb.. haiz...

sandra,

your friend really need to seek help if not will be too late you know.. why dun you speak to the hb?

SH,

Not sure if can take. But I suppose if you ask the nurses, shouldn't have problems. The nurses there are really nice - most prob cos the postnatal ward is so small.

Tabbie,

I am typing out some receipes that seems useful from Annabel's book. Will email to you when done. Thks for compiling the receipes.

Hi CassCL, Cindy, Clare, Rene, Babylon, Sunny,
so sorry to hear about ur losses and just wanna tell you all are such brave mummies. My heart also go to all the mummies for their loss. In fact I have 2 frens whom each had 2 miscarriages too. One of them (whom I am very close with) had a molar pregnancy - all the pregnancy symptoms and hormones were present, placenta detected but can't see the embryo. I really felt so sad when I met up with her after she learnt the news from her gynae. And when I went for my postnatal checkup, I overhead a mummy crying in the next room cos she had contraction and she's only in her 5th month, the baby came out. She kept begging my gynae to push the baby back cos it won't be able to survive. Till now whatever I think of the incident I feel very sad for her. Well on the brighter side, both my girlfrens have 3 kids now and they are so lovely

Wenyl

Am suppose to collect for Sandra and Clare. Did I miss out anyone else who want to collect from me in Raffles Place? Will I be able to collect the books at the same time? Would prefer to do all in one trip rather than making 2 trips.

Thanks

Cindy/Denmy

Thanks for the info on the pearl barley. Lazy me still have not boil it for Mel.

Denmy
I think cos Keenan is very fair has his eyes and hair are brownish so look a bit like angmo bb
happy.gif
Is his diaper rash ok now?

RE: Standing & Mel's close shave

Yes the thought still send shivers down my spine. Anyway I guess she's too young to learn her lesson and she's trying to rack sack mummy's dressing table

Queen
Actually she fell once from the bed. I doze off while breastfeeding her and she somehow managed to fall over the pillows that I used to block the other side of the bed. Same here, I felt that I was a very bad mother at that time. But I guess most bbs will fall at least once in their lifetime.

Esther
Actually walker will not cos bow leg. I think US ban it more becos is dangerous, bb may juz trip and fall esp if the "run" with the walker. And I read that if you want to let bb use walker has to be around 5-6 mths and not later. Cos if later, they become dependent on it and will be lazy to learn how to walk themselves cos is easier for them to move around with it.
