TTC - Trying to Conceive 2017

Hi babes.. need help :) been trying to conceive for almost 2 years now .. Im on my CD15 today.. and been having some Dark Brown Discharge few days after my last period..oh not forgetting before my period came..there s one time i saw a small pink blood followed by small light brown blood all the way until my period came and now few days after my period..dark brown discharge.. so I just thought what the heck.. lets do a pregnancy test.. and i did this morning at about 0530am..and got a faint positive line.. (please refer to my pic) i am planning on doing IUI next month.. so if i really conceive, i might just cancel my appt..i will be testing again tomorrow morning..but i hope someone could atleast ease my mind :) thank u so much..

are u on CD15 (15 from last menses) or DPO15 (15 day past ovulation)?
 
Hi ladies, I'm so glad I found this thread. I've been feeling so down and lonely because nobody around me understands how difficult it is to conceive! I've been ttc nearly a year now. Had a chemical pregnancy in may and no good news since.

I've started letrozole 2.5mg 1 cycle after the chemical and surprisingly brought my ovulation from cd21 to cd16. I've also just started seeing Dr. Tan Siew Buoy from NTU tcm clinic. I had my hsg, ultrasound, egg reserves checked among other blood tests done at cd20. All came back normal except i wasnt ovulating by cd20. But no blood tests done at cd2/3 like I've seen in earlier posts to check for estrogen. Is estrogen levels test necessary or a common procedure? Hubby also did his sperm analysis. There weren't any problems with him.

I've been tracking my bbt for over 10 cycles now accompanied with digital opk. I've also tried giving my hubby folic acid, maca, tongkat ali and myself vitamin b complex, fertility supplements and vitex now I've stopped them all and just rely on letrozole and tcm concoctions.

Have you tried using First response? It's quite hard to find,only a few sellers selling it on carousell. It gave me a positive before clearblue. Good luck!

it can be quite a crazy journey and agree lonely at times, but always stay positive. im not familiar with letrozole, is that for ovulation like clomid?
one of the obgyn i saw thinks i shld start fertility drugs soon, due to my age but im not ready, ttc naturally first.

I'm in my 2WW now, going insane every month ard this time. I'm not sure if i ovulated this month, opk was not conclusive.

I have just done hormone tests which includes estrogen (estradoil), progesterone and a few others. This is usually refer to as the CD21 test. CD20 shld be the same??
But i read this applies to women who are regular and 28 day cycle. i am abt 32 day, after googling like crazy... some said shld be done ard 7 dpo (progesterone peak ard there) and double checked w my doc, i was told to take my blood test on CD23 or CD24 instead. I prob O ard CD16-18 based on my bbt.

these tests are done for few reasons, including to check if u ovulated and whether the hormones are balanced or not.

I didnt do any CD2/3 hormone tests before as well. I think this may be required if yr period is not regular, they may take hormones over different phases thruout yr cycle.

Hello grumpet, thank you for your kind words it's nice to have support here.

yup letrozole is an equivalent of clomid but with lesser side effects I read. My gyn suggested clomid initially and I wasnt happy so she prescribed letrozole instead. I'd have liked it if I didn't have to take the fertility drugs. Put on 2kg on the lowest dose of letrozole alr.

Yup it applies to women with regular 28 day cycles so my blood tests were shifted to CD25 just nice on the cycle that was nearly 50 days long so they concluded that I didn't ovulate at all. it really drove me insane that cycle. I think I spent about 70 bucks just on all sorts of pregnancy tests alone lol

I go gaga during the 2ww as well esp because my LP is usually 12 days long. During my last cycle, it went up to 14 days! Never happened before. Not sure if it's due to the tcm meds or letrozole.

Hmmm... idk as well. My gyn said to try letrozole for 3 cycles. I just started my 2nd cycle. Hoping for a miracle. She told me to go for another ultrasound to monitor my tiny 2mm cyst. I read fertility drugs really messes with the cysts.

I'm quite convinced my lining is too thin for implantation because my period is almost non existent so I've been doing 2mins of bridge pose and child pose every night to increase blood flow to my pelvis.

Great to have this forum support :) will read up on letrozole.

$70 on tests only, that's super cheap. HSG or one of the scans already costs me that. I have spent easily $2.5 k maybe more, and some are subsidized rates excluding consultations, over 3yrs TTC :( most of it due to recurrent preg loss. :( :(

I thot LP12 is ok?

Yea, I did some of those yoga poses too, like putting the feet up against the wall. haven't done it in a while. mostly I do Pilates for endometriosis/ fibroids.

What other "crazy" things do u ladies do?

There's so many for me, like castor oil packs... quite messy, only do in follicular phase. then there is holding legs up after BD for 15min... and there was this video I saw by an acupuncturist (TTC over 40+ that said she hugged a warm water bottle down there after sex) cos some warmth (not too much) helps the sperm swim faster ... lol . I tried that once only, my hubby was like it's not winter here.

My gync gave me 3 cycle of letrozole to try naturally too while waiting for my 2nd fresh ivf in oct. Hopefully can get pregnant using letrozole. =) Stopped all my cold drinks and drink red date longan tea. Took supplements too. Jia you

Lol you misread I think. I spent over 70 bucks on pregnancy tests in that cycle. I've also spent about 2k on all the tests, gyn visits, tcm, supplements, opk, impulsive pregnancy tests, all that.

I'm also worried about recurring chemical pregnancy. And thought I should hurry visit a gyn specializing in recurring loss just in case the min I get a BFP.

Hmmm 12-14 days long is normal I think. But I was convinced I had a LP defect because I had fertile cm before period starts which is one of the symptoms. And there were 2 cycles when my LP fell to 11 days. Maybe lacking in progesterone after ovulation. But after letrozole last cycle with tcm med, I noticed it became normal.

I'm thinking of looking into doing fertility massages but they're very expensive if you get a professional. Theres some help on diy. Gonna look into using menstrual cups to lock the sperm in after BD too. Lol. I also put my legs against the wall with double pillows and hurt my neck Cus it's too steep but whatever helps!

I wonder if stopping cold drinks helps though. Cus few friends of mine BD on their honeymoon with a couple of beers and vola. I also tried to inject some romance with wine and some jazz music and got a BFP that cycle but turned into a chemical few days later. Lol. Good luck to you!!

Hi angel, did kkh recommend fertility treatments? I also went to kkh after we failed to conceive in 6 months. Wanted to do some tests to rule either one of us out as the cause. Everyone tells me we're young so shouldn't be difficult. But I see my older colleagues all get pregnant and give birth 1 by 1. I'm still here trying

Yeah I don't believe I didn't ovulate also just that my ovulation came 16 days too late that cycle they wanted to do the blood test. Although my opk stated I'd ovulate around cd20 like usual, my real ovulation was only about cd36 lol.

I heard real reviews from my 2 sis in law who were both ivf cases. They got pregnant after seeing dr tan for about a year. So good luck!!

i was looking for first response hpt, couldn't find it. just bought the "predictor brand" supposed to be sensitive 6 days b4 period. hope it's works!

haha ... i took 12 lessons of qigong too, found it quite calming but too slow for me. i was quite stressed.

where can u find prof fertility massage? I just do simple ones "mayan self massage" that i find in baby making book.

Looks like quite a few of u went to see Dr Tan SB. Hope her treatment works for u. I think I wasnt fated to see her or tcm. made appt to see her, long wait but something kept preventing me from going, like travelling, not well, etc. . other tcm sensei all didnt go well.

only thing i did last few months was doing acupuncture at my womb / abdomen area and tcm powder that my friend passed to me to "strengthen the uterus" but last mth had the most painful period and almost fainted. so I've stopped.

if yr colleagues hv no fertility problem then they wouldnt have needed ivf . maybe undiagnosed.

It supposedly acts as a "stopper" I guess lol. I read some fertility sites recommend it.

It is a defect I think. 14 days is supposed to be the norm. But I've read about ladies getting pregnant with 10 days LP even. I guess the 14 days is to give your fertilized egg extra days to implant ba.

Wow qi gong is really next level I can't imagine myself doing anything slower than yoga. Yoga itself is pretty torturous to me!

My other gyn says losing 5% fat may help for my case. I'm not overweight but I'm almost there I think lol.

Im seeing dr liu shuling at clinic D kkh. Pretty comfortable with her. She will address the concerns and attentive.

Those of you BBT, and fairly regular can try using Natural Cycles app and Fertility Friend. I'm using free version.

NC is a paid app, but they let u trial it for 1 months. They have some algorithm to calculate yr ovulation etc, but dont track CM. So if u already have past few months cycle bbt info on hand, u can key in 2-3 months and it will calculate for u. Much clearer on my stats, like Ov ard CD18/19+/- 2days and coverline, which i cannot figure out .

I was using period calendar tracker for a long time, but it's not so good for TTC.

Overall i prefer fertility friend, more info for free version. altho NC 's interface is cleaner, prettier. I didnt try Ovia.

sorry just need some help.
recently we just went to see our fertility Dr.
Dr told us to try bd on CD 10, 12, 14.
but hubby was tired and I fell ill on CD 10 so we bd on CD 11.
today at CD 12, OPK is showing positive.

i don't know when i should bd now :p
cuz i wonder how fast will the sperm reproduce.
and also try so many months until i also blur :p

i know in the end it all goes down to lady luck.
but do let me know what u think.

Hey sorry to hear about ur cyst.. i used to have it when I was younger.. but i was told to consume Spirulina and then Chlorophyll drink .. it work wonders.. maybe u can try to google?

Just do IT ,! lol ... asap .

if hubby's sperm has no problem, daily BD is fine. otherwise, like low sperm count, it is recommended every other day.

Since u BD one day before O, there is already a chance u can get pregnant.
Egg survived only abt 24 hrs, and the sperms up to 3-5 days inside u.

if all goes well, success rate is only like 25-30% ... so I'll say do it! Happy baby dancing :)

Oh i actually went to see him too. William at Marine Parade, No long queue at 10am. Ban Choon Chan med hall. But he couldnt diagnose me cos I haven't got my menses yet after mc. he was a bit nagging, how am I supposed to know tt but said my pulse seems healthy and it will be hard to drag my hubby there after tt session. so we never went back, cos I feel must agree as a couple.
Heard he may be retiring (unverified)

It depends on yr condition. Cause tcm say i han ask me stopped all cold drinks and ice-cream and tea. =)
But i still take when i go on holiday.

i could not really avoid it too.
i still need to go for entertainment due to work matters.
i have other issues that need me to take yogurt too.
but i bring a tumbler to office so i drink a lot of water that is mostly warm.

Then drink some ginger tea / red date longan tea etc if possible. I drink red date tea almost daily.

oh opps, haha i'm not sure but my friend referred him as that if i remember correctly. yea 'xin' (heart) is very important. Was looking for a doc..obgyn etc that I'm comfortable with and have 'xin' .

I dont feel much Qi these days ... so tired and dizzy these few days after getting up from bed. anyways i only took basic classes.

i work for a fast paced company in the sense that almost everything i do has a deadline.
and almost everything i do affects our company's ISO certification
when job volume is at its peak, i dont even have time to check my mobile phone
u might ask me to change my job but colleagues are good, benefits are good.
so i am staying put for now :p

so anyone still able to make red date longan tea despite busy schedule ?

we still need to wash the red date and longan beforehand right ?

I am on my 2 week wait now.
Did my first IUI on 3rd July.
Blood test is tom.
I couldnt resist the temptation to test hence used the clear blue pregnancy test on 16dpiui and tested negative. Did anyone fail home kit test and tested positive on blood test? Quite anxious here.

I make in office in the morning. Had a mini boiler cup at my desk. Just rinse and put in my cup to boil. =)

I am currently with Dr SF Loh of Thomson Fertility Centre.
I have not started any treatments with him yet as he suggest us to try naturally.
He has got good reviews and often appears on TV.
Although he did forget I had lap surgery with him o.0
maybe because i venture thru and forth his 2 clinics

if you are looking for specialist who you recommend you what to eat...what supps to take, I don't think Dr Loh practices that.
unless he did tests on you and realise you need some medication to help you along.

An acquaintance of mine got pregnant with Dr Ann Tan @ Paragon
but the same acquaintance told me that Dr Ann is more of a cold person

I am back to this thread after ard 3.5years..now trying (but not really active) for #3. My #1 came after 7years of marriage! But surprisingly #2 came quite fast.. now #3 I have a feeling it's gonna be hard again...haiz... I am now on my 2ww.. and the feeling is damn sian..haha..

you can tell your doctor about your concerns. at least that is what we are doing now with our doctor.

Yup, we are taking it easy. But still quite disappointed to see bfn.. its has been like 3mths already..haiz.. 3 bfn...

you tests every month ? it's been 3 yrs I think I see less than 8 bfn. I try to wait until day of period.

Was gonna test today, bought all my pregnancy test kits. Then woke up this morning, sharp drop in my Bbt today. yesterday was down too and felt crampy. Delayed my testing with a sinking feeling... Aunt Flo came few hrs later :( :(

BBT thermometers are more sensitive and all the apps have double decimal recordings. Shows better the temp diff in the charts .

Strangely, I couldn't find any BBT thermo in few countries in Europe. I forgot to bring during my travels. Guess they don't track in the continent.
