Hi mummies,

My LO is 7 weeks and wakes up between 1hr-2.5hrs tops for feeding whether day or night and it is getting very unpredictable. Each time she wakes up, she takes in between 40ML-70ML depending how long she went down for. I calculated within a 4-5 hour cycle, she drinks a total of 120ML-180ML. She is currently formula fed because my BM is drying, and I am using Frisolac Gold.

Because of the short sleep and feeding intervals, she is unable to take in more than 90ML at a go. Occasionally if she is super hungry, she can drink 120ML and go down for 3hours before next feeding of maybe 30-60ML. On bad days, feeding is hourly!! As a result, she is often tired and cranky cos she cant seem to sleep well!

Is it that Frisolac Gold is not 'heavy' enough to keep her asleep for a longer period of time? I have been having this issue since she hit 5 weeks.. it is super tiring at this point!

Can mummies please recommend a formula that is as gd as frisolac but weighs her stomach down so she doesnt wake up all the time? I was thinking of enfalac.. but idk which powder is too heaty. My baby is super warm most of the time.. and perspires easily too.

My bb at 6 weeks also on frisolac. . He will wake up every 2 hours for 100 ml feed.. tiring also.. but I'm not sure if I wanna change fm cos he seems to be taking it well... cos to me as long as he poos that's all that matters...

Me too.. I have been very apprehensive about changing. She explosive poos once or twice daily now too.. But she doesn't seem like she is sleeping enough cos she is constantly waking up for feeding and it is a task to put her back down! I'm just hoping she sleeps like other infants, through 4-5 hours.. :( don't know if changing formula will make a difference.. Feel like trying. I tried goats milk but she spits up a lot so I changed her back to friso.

I don't think it is the milk powder... perhaps it is the feeding pattern. Young babies keep on changing their patterns - perhaps you could try giving water in between feeds, or pacifier... train her to feel "hungry"... don't feed if under 3 hours? Else, they keep on having to feel somewhat full... they also need those long-sleep cycles!

Mine wakes up quite frequent also.. perhaps ur bb is feeling warm or uncomfortable for hin to sleep? I shifted mine to sleep on the bouncer in the day. . With that he manages to sleep for a longer period of time... tried to give him pacifier but he doesn't seem to like that.. I think at 7 weeks bb usually wun sleep that much already? Or perhaps it's growth spurt... can trial and error on different factors and see what works best for ur bb. . But I do also think that fm might not be the root cause

She rejects water after 10ML.. hahaha she can totally taste the difference. Pacifier works only if she is asleep or if I quickly catch her before she rouses and put her back to sleep. I tried not feeding till 3hrs but my girl, so impatient!! I feel so sorry for my LO cos I even think eyebags are developing becos of this! OMG man...

I let her sleep in cool environment.. the only time she really knocks out and wolf down full feed is if I let her swim for 20mins. Haha.. 7 weeks bb stays up more during day but should sleep longer during night.. mine macam newborn pattern. Hahaha.. growth spurt will make her lose appetite ma?

Enfamil is good. Have been using enfamil since birth... My bb is two months old now and she can sleep thru nine hours without milk. And enfamil is also higher in their nutrition and dha. Good for baby growth
