IVF/ICSI Support Group

Dear all,

I am new to this forum and this thread.

I did a laparascopy in SGH 1.5 yrs ago and was diagnosed with endometriosis, my husband's sperm quality is not too good as well. I have been ttc for 4 years already, did iui 2 times with no success too. I guess it's time to consider ivf as the success rate decreases with age.

I am now in a dilemma in choosing between private or SGH. Of course the government subsidies plays a very important part.

I would like to ask the forumers who are currently undergoing ivf procedure at SGH and under Dr Yu Su Ling. Is Dr Yu the one who extracts the follicles and insert the embryo for you? Or is it done by another doctor whom she allocates? Reason I asked is because although I chose Dr Yu as my doctor, both my IUI was done by another Filipino doctor instead of her.

Hi babylover,

I am taking norE for 18 days and I think the purpose of NorE is to time the menses so that the hospital can arrange for ivf appointments with better certainty. Did the nurse gave you a standard timetable with all the standard procedures and medications to take for the entire ivf process? I got the timetable during counseling and it said I need to take daily injections for 10-12 days, seem to be different from yours. Or the nurse has customized your medication to overcome your low ovarian reserve?

Just had my fet on fri. After that I went to have fish soup which I suspected there are dang gui inside as I can taste abit of the taste in it. Then I had the 十全烤鸭 from "diao xiao er" on sat. My sis just told me all these will cause miscarriage or bad for pregnancy. ... I am so upset n scare now! Anybody can advise wat shld I do???

Why did u take all these? These r common knowledge. Since taken, forget it and pray for the best and stop thinking abt it

The fish soup is not a herbal soup. .. its just normal fish soup but I do feel there's slight dang gui smell in it. As for the duck its the gravy that has herbs... n I didnt really dip much. Nv tot that I can't eat it too... haiz. ... just gotta pray hard now.
 
Don't think too much.. Just enjoy the process of being "pregnant". Just back from Tcm.. Brewing red dates and red bean now.. Going to be a couch potato till Friday..

Even has danggui but the portion wont b too much. Like wat hope said, dun think too much and stay positive! Focus on the coming tww, fighting!
With eeznyl, we have 4 sisters now the cycle buddy :)

Yes nurse gave me the standard sheet about procedures ,I think prof is the one who decide the medication for us , not the nurse . but from 6th date after 1st stim , I also need to do self injection , 5th and 6th date ,need to scan .

hi I think we have to do blood test before Dr decide the medication and dosage amount etc. based on the blood test result . If u don't know ,it is better , no need to worry . Now I'm a bit worried if I can have enough egg to transfer :(

I'm ok, no symptoms so far. I've not been bed resting most of the time. I have a hyper active 15mth old boy who wants me to carry him. I tried my level best not to carry him but it's so hard. My parents sleep with him these few days as he always tends to move and kick, I scared he will kick me hence I put him with my parents.

All I can do is pray that all will go well .. All is well, all is well

How are you coping?

Dun think too much...and dun feel guilty. You ate without knowing it is not suited for pregnancy. In any case you din eat very much.

Some ladies who got pregnant naturally but did not know at the early stage may hv also eaten the same and in larger quantity.... or even go for activities that are unsafe for pregnancy... and yet they are ok. So just chill and avoid herbal stuff for this period... dun eat ba kut teh as well. Some have herbs in the soup.

Only 1 line, meaning negative. Never get positive, hence conclude that I always don't O.
Every1s PCOS is different so it's difficult to say.

yeah i realised PCOS conditions vary across dif people. some get double line all the time, some can BFP whilst some is like almost never happen...

but someone from another thread actually had a 80 day cycle and she BFP!!!

Yeah, I hv a gf with pcos who has 2 kids. Never had any issues to O.
Dr THH did tell me that for my case he felt that I could regulate my hormones with meds for 2 yrs and see if can conceive but I'm too impatient to try that for so long.

Same here, no symptom too. No more bed rest for me. Back to normal..
Be careful not to let ur boy kick on ur tummy o, but I think can't resist him want mummy to carry him ba :)

Hello, if Dr yu is in Spore during your cycling, yes she will be the one doing ET and ER...

I think you might need 9 days past 2 days transfer to know whether it is implant.. My Tcm is telling me the next 3-5 days are the most important ..

Hope, next 3-5 days to implant meaning implantation is ard 6-8days after transfer?

My first fresh in 2012, I had breakouts and bfp 14 days after et. But the entire 1st trimester I was on weekly progesterone jabs as I had spotting.
 
Ya.. Usually 5 days blast.. 2 days later will implant. Haha.. I'm just following my Tcm advice. Your first fresh is also done in Kkh?

To each their own :) TCM herbs also have it's dangers which I am wary about. I also don't agree to mix both.
However, I also don't wanna be reliant on meds hence chose not to so that path. At least my pcos is not severe enuf that I need constant meds.

Yes, my first fresh was in kkh by Dr Jerry Chan too. I like him. He keeps me at ease with his cool composure. And I am able to communicate well with him. He delivered my son via c-sect and was a need job according to my mum who is a nurse.

Oh.. So dr Loh is right in his skill.. He tells me to go to dr jerry cos of my high left ovary..
 
Just curious, are we to look out for any symptom for implantation? Discharge, cramps?

Even thou I've been through this 2 years back, my memory is like a goldfish. Signs of aging

Don't scare yourself lah. My TCM doctor said actually 当归 is supposed to be 活血 and is good for pregnancy. Just that some women may not be suitable to take it during early stage of pregnancy as it may cause bleeding sometimes. Next time when you eat at 店小二 again, just eat the 泡参烤鸭. 泡参 is fine. :)
 
A bit worry as going to start my ivf jouney with Dr Anu from CHR/NUH, anyone have any comments on her?

Has anyone been successful doing IUI/IVF with Dr. Anu?

One way to counter the development of sore throat if you eat too many durians is drink 1 cup of salt water immediately after eating durians irregardless the amount of durians you eat. This works for me all the time.
 
But once u take salt water, it takes away all the nutritions of the durians!

So, it is still better not to take too much. If ends up having to take salt water, then waste all the efforts eating durian.

My first and 2nd IVF is with Dr Anu. I BFP on the first, but heart beat stop at 8weeks. She is a nice lady and always try to uncover the root cause, if it is not her.. I would not have found out that I have high NK cells and thick blood issue. I have changed to KKH, as I feel a need to change the environment and luck..

One of my friend also gotten BFP on IUI with her.. Good luck...

Eat oranges after eating durian. My FIL swears by it.
 
Hope, how's e ER procedure like?
How long did it take?
Will feel discomfort like cramps thereafter huh?
Rest well and best of baby luck
 
E insert is into e vagina ya?
Sorry if it sounds idiotic but will e nurse shows or advises how to insert correctly?!
I hv nvr used tampon before...
