hi babysmurf, having too few or not enough eggs is a problem faced by some of us, including myself. sorry not too familiar with your situation, but perhaps you should discuss with your Dr to have the long protocol instead if you think long suits you better? from my limited understanding, those people who are PCOs usu go on long whilst poor responders and when you are slightly advanced in age go on short.
Shaine, discuss with your Drs to find out what could be the problem. I know it is disappointing but dun think negatively until you have some medical advice.

Me have been sick last week but recovered. And, now heading to the next battle, FET early July. Hopefully, I will win the battle this time.
Honestly, after failing iui & the previous first fresh, I dare not put my hope so high this time. All I can do is pray & leave the rest to god.
BabySmuf: Thanks if Kkh give 3 days mc for FET than I think TFC will most probably give the same. At least now I can plan my leave.

BabySmuf: 16 eggs is a good number. You can consider icsi this time round as icsi yield higher fertilization rate.
Yes, you are right, 16 eggs retrieved is considered above normal response. do u noe if the problem is because they are not matured and therefore cannot be fertilised or is it really the sperm and eggs not talking? if sperm and egg not talking, is it because the eggshell too hard and thus cannot pierce thru but think assisted hatching can solve the problem. whatever it is, hope you can resolve it before you start. For me, I am just aiming for at least 4 good eggs and go on to be fertilised to be good embryos. That will already beat my best record.

When you do SIS, there's no doc in the room, only the sonographers n usually they don't make much comments about what's happening or tell you what's wrong with you because they r not docs. Hope you can get a satisfactory answer from dr tan. Anyway, laproscopy is not pregnancy related so can claim medishield but you would still need to pay the Co-insurance part unless you r insured for that as well. Best to check with your agent.

I did my SIS this morning. A Doctor (consultant), a nurse and a sonographer inside. The Dr try many time to do the SIS but he cannot perform it. Seem something push back. The last try she manage to do it but once she put the saline it U turn back and I can feel something pushing it back. So many try
until I feel so painfull. At last the Dr give up. They only do us
scan for me. I am so frustrated when the
scan cannot be perform. I got a feeling my Dr may
ask me for lapo.

Snoopy, I have sharp pain from sides. But only lasted for few seconds. And it's on and off. Yesterday when I check with nurse, she says it's normal.
If your pain is prolonged, please contact your doctor for advise and see if you can take painkillers to relieve the pain. Take care!

My SIS only took less than 5 mins (not rubbing it in) and after the Dr left, the nurse and the sonographer were talking about how quick it was. I was cramping aftter that and had a flight to catch.. During that flight i felt like a bulldog chewing a wasp. (At least that's how i pictured i must have looked in that discomfort. ) So i can only imagine the pain you must have gone through with the unsuccessful attempts.

eskimo, when i did my SIS last year, there was a doctor who explained and did the procedure, as well as a sonographer and a nurse to help the doc. But the doc also wasn't quite willing to elaborate much. Just told me nothing to worry abt when i asked if everything looks okay.

i'm down with a bad throat and slight cough... i think i'm too heaty liao cos i can't get the phlegm out even though i'm drinking water like an elephant... i hope it will not affect the little ones inside me...

ohhh.... i can only remember the sonographer and nurse... only 2 ppl inside... maybe mine was too long ago to remember well what happened... hahaha

wow ur SIS was really quick... i remembered being in there for abt 30 min... the scan took quite long... but i do agree that i felt quite crampy after that.

Morning bigbear, dun think it is anything new but newer than the std long. R u sure there is no suppression in your protocol? It sounds strange to me as they need to ctrl the egg collection part which the suppress drugs are for. My suppression starts ard day 4 to stop any ovilation. My prev short, i had suppression n stim starting on day 2 . Will only b using g-f, as far as i noe.

Joyfully, do u mean the Ovidrel jab? I only took the Ovidrel jab twice, during my follow-up BTs. Dun remember much side effects after 1st jab, can't remember if got slight nausea or not. But after 2nd jab, I started bloating up and gradually became sensitive to smells and gagged when brushing my teeth. Initially I tot the Ovidrel jab doesn't leave my system till 10 days or so later, but later found out from Ning that it the hCG from the jab actually clears in 3 days. That's when i had a good feeling abt the cycle cos i was still bloated more than 3 days after the 2nd jab. Hope u'll have good news very soon too!

Joyfully, me too. After the pregnyl jab yesterday, I feel nausea and crampy.

I also like you few wks ago. Very bad sore throat and dry cough. I didn't take any medication. My friend teach me to use small pinch of seasalt add to my drinking water. I took it for abt 3days and i recovered. U may want to give it a try.

Joyfully and red velvet, what's the hav about? I'm suppose to go for the prostronge BT tml.... They will give me another jab? They didn't tell me lei. Can shed some light? I'm still bloated with ocassional cramps ttat lasted only a few sec but feeling better. And as usual v sleepy!

Hope, I have 4 pregnyl jabs in total during 2ww. Asked nurse she said it helped the body to produce progesteone naturally. Ladies correct me if I am wrong. My hospital did not ask me to go for progesterone blood test wo.

Red velvet, I see. Guess different hospitals have different practise. I'm not too sure what's the BT for also actually.

Luv, thanks for your explanation! I think pregnyl and ovidrel as similar in the sense that they are both hcg jabs. But mine is the formal. I had it on the day of ET, and twice during my follow up BTs. The first time no side effect. Dizzy spell and nausea feeling only started this morning. Am now better after a quick nap.
Redvelvet and Hope, I think different clinics or hospitals have different protocol. For CARE, they do BT to check our E2 level. If our E2 level is a strong 5 figure, then no need pregnyl or ovidrel jab. If below the 5 figure, then the clinic will jab for us. This jab will help our bodies to produce more hormones to support the implantation. Hope the above info helps.
