Mumwannabe, it's never too late to sign up prenatal yoga when you are pregnant. You can also do other light exercise too such as walking and basic stretching.

During Lucrin jab, I didn't have any changes. I felt sleepy on the 3rd jab of Gonal-F onwards and lower abdomen uncomfortable (due to follicles growth). Hence, I guess there should be weight gain but I did not weigh. Different people react to the jab differently so if you are not sure, you can always consult your gynae. : )
 
Hi Moomoo, Its progesterone jab, daily jab. No name leh, I bought it from KKH. Initially, my doctor prescribed me pregnyl, but I know of the side effect, so I ask for progesterone instead. Usually pregnyl would not be given to those who retrieved more than 15 eggs because it will cause more bloatedness and mine is 14 so at the borderline. But then as progesterone has the same effect as pregnyl, I opt for progesterone. But then I must have my daily jab.
 
Hi Sisi, appreciate if u can help me ask.. The 2nd time I call to ask more question was picked up by the one n only unhelpful nurse.. Said that they dun reveal anything on phone. How can't be rite? But cux of 胎教, I dun wan argue wif her. Will greatly appreciate if u can help me ask..

Hi all I am new but had been the info almost daily. U guys have done a wonderful job. I failed my 1st IVF and the transfers. Now going for the 2nd IVF. I thinking of going to tcm to tiao my body but my hubby n dr do encourage. Very confused.
 
Hazel, thanks! Nah.... I gave away my folic acid after my baby shower as my gf was ttc. Now she is expecting a boy. Due in October. That's why I didn't continue with folic.

Yes, Dr Loh prescribed me folic. Just confused if I can take with aspirin...... I first time taking prognova and aspirin. Was worried today if I have done the wrong thing

So how r u doing with the little one?
 
Hi Lovebelle, is Dr Tan's clinic in clementi? If so, I have heard of him but had not went to him b4 as he is too far.
Heard he is gd. He does acupuncture as well. He is the head of the 不孕组＠中华clinic. Its something like Tong Ji.
A friend of mine visited him to tiao b4 trying for a baby. She was preggy. But then due to work stress, she list the baby. Aft that she went back to see him n got preggy again naturally..

Only thing is his appointments are very tight and they only open half day on sat. Close on Sunday n close ard 6pm daily. This is what I recall as this was the research I did 1 yr plus ago..
 
I'm getting sick - sore throat, I hv taken some lozenges and if it's get worse like runny nose/cough/ fever, I'm thinking of asking dr if I should defer to next month cycle... Worried if taking medicine may impact my injection stage/ follicle growth. What do u sisters think? My period is starting anytime next week.

If I take a rest for now, I would like to see dr to get fertility pills to try this month. Need his prescription to get the medicine. But the apptm is so full. How do I squeeze to get a slot?
 
Lovebelle - I seen him before for Couple of months. Din strike yet cos I'm hurry to see results so going for ivf. Gan chiong. Yes his slots is vvv hard in my opinion when compared to dr zou. Some girls mind guy; if they prefer ladies they go to dr zou. I think he is more thorough than dr zou in my own opinion but more expensive especially his Acpuncture. Short n expensive. 10'min $35 or more I think. The place he poke is different from dr zou. Medicine is powder cum liquidform. I would like to pay more to do more unfortunately dun allow as his apptm all so full- he tried to see as many patients as possible hoping to fulfil our dreams. He is v nice like grandpapa like that... Soft spoken.. Be prepared to wait esp evenings or weekends even if u hv an apptm. Depends on if u comfortable with guy or lady tcm n where u stay? Some sisters here also find dr Zou v nice helpful n sincere... I hope this helps?
 
Immunocal really tasted horrid on it's own, feel like puking when drinking it. V unique smell. I rem some sisters mix with yoghurt or strawberry milk? Which strawberry milk any non sweet non fattening type? Read that ensure is fattening? Is their milk sweet?

Do u all feel cramping when you are sleeping huh? Experience cramping before waking up too. hope is implantation pulling .Kinda of worried. Is this normal huh?

Lovebelle, Dr Tan at Clementi is quite good but unfortunately i didnt success after seeing him for abt 9 mths. I change to Dr Zou as wanna do IVF. For Dr Tan, he will only do acupunture before ovulation which normally I try to do 3 times before O. But his appt is very full and small space. He is very soft spoken and when he see u he wont rush, he will also check whether v going to O or not. Hope the info do help u to decide.
 
Just faith, i m down with a flu n on sick leave. Got it at kkh when i was there for oscars on wed. little beanie is good n passed the oscars checks with flying colour.

Just Faith, Dr SF Loh is good. Every department I go, the nurses will tell me I hv a gd dr. I requested to see him more often this round. So, he can track beanie's development more closely. I last saw him 2 wks ago before oscars. During that visit, little beanie is big enough for him to see more so he actually told me bb's neck thickness is gd. Thus, in a way I know my oscars check shld be fine. Hub even told me no need to check at ADC after he heard dr Loh.

I will see him in another 2 wks time. Will request to continue seeing him 2-3 wks interval. In fact he has scheduled 5wks interval thereafter. So long right?
 
Momwannabe, it will be good to discuss with your gynae. If the issue worries you, bring it to a later date that you feel comfortable with. For the appointment with Dr, you might want to explain to the nurse and see if they can slot you in. Drink more water and Vit. C fruits/ tablet to speed up your recovery. Most important is to have enough rest.

Sarah, I take Chicken Essence on alternate days after my terrible bloatedness (6 days) went off to boost up my energy level. Read from this forum some gals double boil fresh chicken/ black chicken to get the chicken soup.

Gals... I've started to get worried and nervous now when I saw some spotting just now and my BT is next Mon. Call up KKIVF and the nurse told me is normal as long as it's not menses flow. Hope it will go off soon.

For gals with KKIVF, when will be the next appointment after bfp blood test?
 
Hi Hazel, Once you pass the trimester (danger period), you will see the doctor 4-5 wks interval. Because by exposing the baby too much to usg is also not quite good.
 
Hi JoynFaith, Try to lie down more often. I think it may be implantation blood. Usually when u get BFP, they will ask u to come down again on the same day to prescribe progeterone/duphaston for you to eat. Then u will see the doctor 2 weeks later for viable scan. Wish you all the best. Btw did u do hpt?
 
Imel, US is sound wave. It does not harm the bb. It just disturb the bb. Any gynae n GPs will tell u so too. I just asked my GP again yesterday when i told her i scan ever 2 wks if it is ok. She said i wan to scan every wk also no problem. There is no such thing as 2nd tri is non-dangerous period. If u know my past history from this forum previous postings u will know y I say that.
 
I m one who did us every 2 weeks Throught out my 2nd and 3rd trimester due to alot of complications along the way. But baby is fine , happy n healthy.
 
Hi Daphne, If your hub and doc dun really encourage you to go for TCM, I personally think then dun go. They may have reasons not to feel comfy. But you can tiao hao your body by eating chinese tonic, like "Ba Zhen Tang" You can buy at EuRensen. YOu cook it with black chicken. The tonic is to increase your blood, you can consume it once a week. Furthermore, you can start eating multivitamins, but eat it at least 2 hours after the chinese med. Do some exercise/yoga for relaxation. I believe is enough

hi Imel, may i ask if Dr Biswas at NUH does genetic scan or amniotic test for patient who are not from NUH? Like for eg, we are KK patient seeking 2nd opinion for scan/test.
 
Hi Babymaking, Im not very sure about that. I oly know that a gynae whom I know personally will always refer his patients to have detailed scan there. You can call up NUH and ask in detail.
 
Oscar tests is down syndrome screening. A comprehensive test comprises of a blood test which can be done as early as 9wks and a Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan done from 11 wks onwards till abt 13wks 6 days. For multiple pregnancies can skip the BT as it is not accurate at all.

Accuracy of the tests is highly dependent on the timing. My past experience tell me dun do too early as requested by KKH ADC department. This round I did BT at 11+wks n NT scan at 12+wks. ADC wanted to schedule me earlier initially. I m lucky to get an experienced senior dr this round too. Is pure luck coz we can't choose the scan dr at KKH.
 
Thanks all for the information on TMC Dr Tan Kian Sing. Maybe have to reconsider after knowing the difficulty of getting appt and the long waiting time.

Queenie - i will decide after hearing from SF Loh tmr. If everything is fine, then i guess will be natural FET. May i know how frequent do you have to do blood test / scan at KK for your natural FET? As I don't have many annual leave left this year, I will need to plan properly.

Imel - you are really good in chinese tonic. My dog just had a surgery. Sometimes i thought of giving him some of my tonic to replenish his lost blood...hahaha.. but better not.

There are many types of multivitamins in the market. Which do you recommend?
 
Hi Hazel, I didn't meant that 2nd tri is not dangerous, but is not as dangerous as the 1st tri where the embies are still not stable. If twins, your danger period will be longer. I was told by Prof Ananda before when I went for my 1st tri scan, he told me try not to go for USG too often because u have no idea what is being transmitted. I understand the anxiety that you feel because I have gone thru that phase too. I have to abort my baby when his/her heart still beating just because he/she has no brain. All this found out when I went for OSCAR. Before that everything went well. The anxiety whether or not the baby is allrite is always in the back of our mind. When u r 6 months pregnant till the day you deliever, u have to monitor the movements. IF the whole day no movements, we have to quicky rush to hospital to make sure the baby survive. We will only feel relieve when the baby is really out safe and sounds. But then even the baby is out, there are more other worries that we have to think of. I have to tell you that once we embark to motherhood it will be endless worry till we die. But that I feel all is worth it

Hi lovebell, my multivitamins are from GNC. I eat ultra mega woman before embarking IVF and during the IVF I eat pre-natal, Body fish oil , Ester C, and CoQ10.
 
Imel, my dr is good. Seeing him n get scan more often, anything he will detect earlier as long as fetal is big enough for him to see. I last saw him at close to 11wks before oscars test. He told me Fetal's neck thickness is good, etc. I even joked with him I can skip oscars tests n saved money! Of course the oscars tests machine is bigger n clearer. But an experienced gynae will know if something is not right from the scans in his room to ask for more detailed checks, if necessary. At times, coz of the interval between each visit is too long. So some stuff may not be detected early.
 
Imel, thanks for your advice. I don't dare to do HPT cos' if the result is negative, it will make me worry more. Thus, I prefer to know the result after BT next week.
 
Hi mmfeen, Im not sure whether you need doctor reference letter to have scan at NUH. Because that time my fren who work in NUH help me make the appointment and Im just lucky that Dr. Biswas himself is performing the scan.

Hi babymaking, I ask my fren that Dr. Biswas also do genetic test. You can try and call the NUH. If you have difficulty in making appointment, I will try and ask my fren to help you.
 
HI JoynFaith, yep quite scary, I know. Im also scared. Hahaha I still remembered when I tried hpt for the first time in my life. My DH bought the kit. And when I dip the kit and I saw no line, we were all disappointed. Then I asked my husband, are we using the kit correctly or not. I then read the instructions, and guess what we have to wait forawhile for the urine to get absorbed and the line to appear. When we saw the kit again, we saw the line. My dh screamed. Although the happiness was a shortwhile as the pregnancy not viable one, still whenever I remembered our stupidness I laughed.

Imel, haha you and dh were so funny, never waited long enough to see line on hpt. Sorry to hear that you had to abort last time, what could be the reason for the baby not developing the brain? All this was detected through oscar test?

Joynfaith, i was like you too, never do hpt before BT cos too scared. Good luck for your BT on mon!
 
Hi hopeful, yep i have white discharge too. Not alot, is just that after I pee and when I wipe I saw abit discharge on tissue paper. I read from the internet, it may be due to the progesterone.
 
Hi Ashley, my abortion is last year and I long make peace with it. Actually before we even know something wrong with the baby, in our heart we somehow sense something is missing. For example, I was not myself when I was pregnant. I got severe depression and a different person totally. And my husband also can sense it. You know the amazing thing is that after the abortion Im myself again. My husband told me "Welcome back wife"

May be its God's will. My doctor told me to consume folic acids and during that pregnancy as I had a severe depression and morning sickness, I didn't consume it regularly. So now Im kanciong, I eat 2 folic acids although my doctor told me 1 is sufficient.
 
Thks imel, managed to get prof anan appt next week, will decide next step then.

Although already expecting high Oscar risks, getting the result still huge blow, now worry is if it really turns out to be ds, then also got to make decision abt frozen embryos.

I love books on prayers so do let me know if its something else please. :D I have and read both books and they did tons in encouraging me during my ivf cycle.

I have white discharge too and like what Imel said, its progesterone or mix with discharge that your vag. self-cleans itself with. That's what my doc told me when I ask him about it. He did say as long as not yellow (means not yeast infection) or funny odour should be okie. :D

There are lots of things that are not under our control, so as long as I have done my best, I let God decide. Whether it is positve or negative only God knows what is best for me.
 


Hi Hopeful, yes finished the BT in the morning and no nurses call me. So I suppose my BT is good and with no extra injection needed.
I tried to make a call to them a min ago and enquire about my results level, the nurse said they normally wouldn't review it and can only tell me whether it pass or failed.

I did question them about the kind of BT I had in the morning and got to know that it is just a kind of hormones level test. If levels are not acceptable, then they probably will call you to return to the clinic the same day for injection.
Anyway it is glad that both our hormones level has "pass", let's wait patiently for our next BT then.
