hi gals,

just to share that i should be starting my IVF journey after my menses come.

prob will be starting jabs in early Feb.

i have a concern. after i saw dr. last week, he was concerned over how my previous gynae did my ovarian drilling. saying it might have affected my ovarian reserve. I'm quite upset and worried about my egg quality and no. of eggs left.

very sad...

hopefully will not affect my chances at IVF.

i also understood from the nurse that throughout the whole IVF process, we will only get to see the gynae on ER and ET days. The rest of it will be monitored and done by the team of doctors.

is this correct?

wow you are young. oh.. from i read, day 2 embryo only able to go to 4 cells , day 3 embryo is 8 cell. maybe it is different? hehe dunno mine was only fertilize on 9 of jan and put in in the morning of 10 jan... so considered day 2 right? yup but important is that they stick well that's all

hi kaira, working already? how come so soon? able to walk around? try taking egg whites and i heard h2o helps bloating .
 
Hi Jas , heez.. i am having hard egg shells from what i heard from the emryologist. Hmm i really dunno about the cells as i heard from my cousin. She just say my 5cells one no good.. but my five cells at Day 3. Friday ER and Monday ET. Oppss.. now u know i am confuse.. haha... really wish u all the best.. i am on panick stage to wait for pregy result.. now i know is positive and i scare there is no heart beats.. omg... really need to do some meditation to calm down man..

Jo is perfectly right.. the important part is ER & ET will be perform by gynae. You should raise all concern to your gynae before u start the process to feel more comfortable. Mine is Dr. Loh and i do send email to him about my concern. So, u might want to check with your gynae if u can do the same by sending him/her email if you are feeling uneasy. That will ease your concerns.

hi ladies
can i check if u take western medicine for cough +running nose+phlegm, do u take a break from tcm medicine?
i'm down with all 3 for last few days. decided to skip tcm coz cant imagine doing accupunture and cough like mad away.
think i probably missed this cycle, coz today is day10 & i totally missed all the accupture and tcm medication for the first half of the cycle already. there i was planning to tcm for 2-3 mths and start ivf, looks like got to delay ivf plans again. so sad

where did u have ur FET, kkivf. i thought FET only will cost 1 - 1.5k. 3K is quite a lot on 1 FET? how many scans do u have to go thru, blood test?

i am not sure if i am doing FET in March or June. i am a teacher, so no leave. March is oly a week break.

I need ur advice. I am 36 this year and cant decide if i should put in 2 or 3 embryos when the time comes in FEB.

My concerns are 3 embryo higher chance to have a successful IVF. Then what if i have triplets, the high risk pregnancy etc

If i put in 2 embryo and i failed, will i blame myself for not putting 3 that has a higher chance. I am in a dilemma. pls help. Thanks

the last time i was sick, I still take the tcm med but take the western med 2 hr apart from TCM. I think u still can continue the acu once u get well.. Dun have to delay ur plans if you are in that 2-3 months preparations. Take care and get well soon

Yes, must agree that this continuously over-imaginative mind of mine is driving me crazy thinking of all the things that can go wrong for the process. Feel like kicking myself for being this way, but can't help it! *breathe in... breathe out...* If visualisation actually helps, then I must also visualise that every step of the procedure will be a success to ensure +ve results mah. Heh ... =P

Still waiting for my period to show up ... hope it comes soon so I can be assured my cycle's not screwed up again. Haiz ... can't wait to get the Day 3 blood test over & done with.

BTW, can anybody share their experience on the counselling session we have to go through before undergoing ivf? Is it of any help at all??

I think you should follow the doctor advise.
And you also must see how many eggs you can produce and fertilize.
If you got procedure high/good grade egg maybe you can put 2.
But the the egg grade is so so maybe you can consider to put 3.

Because as you know multiple pregnancy is not easy, you might labor earlier.
Better consult with your gynae abt your body condition and see how many and what grade is the fertilised egg.

During consultation, just sit and listen loh.
Medical Social Worker just explain the procedure and IVF is not 100% guarantee that you might conceive... and dun hearten or oversad... bla bla bla... something like that... hehehehe...

whether help or not, it depend on the person whether want to accept the failure or know the chances...

anyway, good luck on your consultation. hope the consultation will help you. ^_^

Heard KK nurse told me they prefer fresh sperm. As that time, we also thought of freeze sperm. This decision can be made a few days before ER .

I'm fine so went back to work on alternate days. Have check with the nurse, she says can. After ET, I don't feel any bloatedness. This bloatedness (worse than puregon stage) only start yesterday and got worse at night and till today. Resting at home now and start eating egg white.

the conselling is quite useful. You will also be given the contacts of the social worker and in case you need someone to talk to in future, can go back to her.

how many hard boiled egg white are you taking daily? my last try i took only 1 egg white half boiled per day, wonder if that's too little.

Hmm .. ok, I think that's what I'm not looking forward to ... counselling session where it's more of a one-way traffic. The counsellor telling you this, this, this. But will try to go into it with an open mind, and I hope it'll do some to help me manage my feelings/expectations better. (Darn, this counselling better be good!) :p

Sigh ... still waiting for AF ... *tearing hair out*

Read from other tread motherwood - 2ww. Some ladies who has this sympton got BFN , some BFP. My guess is if feel nauseous , sensitive to smell should be quite positive. No symptons also doesn't mean anything . I'm req'd to inject Pregnyl every three days. No tablets or progesterone. Read somewhere if less than 15 eggs hcg jab, more progesterone jab.

I have a bottle of lucrin bought end of last month to let go. Initally intend to start the cycle this month but due to some family problem, i intend to put off the plan. Is there anyone who is going to start the cycle soon but have not bought the lucrin?

I'm finding out info on IVF - especially on what a woman would have to go thru - for my wife.

We'll probably be going this path as there are problems with both of us - double whammy as the wife would like to say it.

You see, she's not exactly like most women who'd do all the research so the enviable task falls on me.

I would really appreciate it if someone could just point to me where to look for: a link or a website which talks about the activities that a woman would have to do to prepare herself for IVF and what are the activities she'd have to be involved during the IVF process.

Kaira, mine is like yours, pregnyl jabs every 3 days too. i do it myself , save the trouble of going to kkh every 3 days... is it too early to feel pregnancy symptoms? i think it should be too early, haha the pregnyl is giving me false pregnancy symptoms, i crave different food every now and then and i love sour stuff, headache, cramping womb and tiredness. haha

Tot the nurse hinted the same thing too. But I was worried that my hubby will not be around when the occytes are ready and I will be very high stressed+OHSS and alone... Think 1 time is the answer.
I read from website that the FSH blood test should be day 3 and the forum suggested. The nurse told me to come at day 2 or 16 Jan originally. Got my menses (full flow today)and tried calling KKIVF blood test to to ask them Day 2 or 3. No one to answer. So if you can, let me know. Not sure whether I go KKIVF first thing 2mrw morning 14 or 15 Jan (day 3).

Wanted 5 bbs all the time. Excited to start with 1 now

If you got PCOS, i think you can start to eat the protein/eggs as earlier as it can be (*got this from ladies in this thread). It said that can prevent OHSS.
For me, I dun have PCOS so the nurse told me to start eat egg after ER (prevent the bloatedness).
It would be better than that you eat hard boiled egg. Just eat the white egg, dun eat the yellow. hehehehe... yolk no good contain high cholesterol... ^_^
If you get bored to eat hard boiled, you might try to mixed with white egg, white protein powder, water and boiled it.
which hospital are you now? TMC?

If so, then i can plan a trip back to S'pore for the blood test and spend the weekend in SIN. Yippeeee! Haha, have never been this happy to greet my AF!! Have gone cuckoo liao.

WANQS: One of the ladies here recommended this site, it's very very informative & should give you a good overview of what ivf entails. It's good that you're taking an interest in this. Cos I keep griping to my hubby that he's not taking the initiative to find more info abt the procedure and I'm doing all the research instead. I read that some of you are taking 3-5 egg whites per day to avoid OHSS. can i ask what do you all do with the 3-5 egg yolk per day? its a waste to throw right? but its also too high cholesterol to consume all per day right? just very curious. thks

My gynae is from Mt E. I started scans within 5 days of my menses, then have to go back every 3-4 days until nearer ovulation when I have to be scanned every 2 days. My follicles were growing behind my normal schedule, so the scans came up to a lot.

I am staying positive for thursday, hope to share good news!
 
Rose, good luck with your pregnancy test! Do you feel anything at all? My pregnancy test is on 15 Jan, I've been having on-off cramps, backaches and bloatedness.
 
Hi Babylou, thanks for your reply. I've been having backaches, giddy spell, late night hunger and hot flushes too.....

I've read alot of IVF pregnancy in the web and tempted to do home pregnancy test but I guess best to wait till the 16. Good luck to you too... Hope we will receive good news.....
 
Hi all, I am new to the thread. I intend to go for IVF. Do you recommend Dr Sadhana or Dr Loh at KKH? I have seen Dr Sadhana about 2 years ago, and she was not very commmunicative....maybe she was busy then.

hi Nancy, do you experience spotting during Marvelon stage? I have been experiencing it for the past 4 days! I am a little worried that my menses will just come before I complete my Marvelon (7 days more to go) as this is so unusual. I at most experienced 2 days of spotting b4 menses all this while.

woke up today feel like vomiting, sick in the stomach.. not a good feeling... very crampy also... sigh.... i need something sour... hehe yesterday ate 2 cans of tuna with vinegar in them, no preservatives other than the vinegar.. so good!!

I did not experience spotting during marvelon stage. Only tender breasts. I think u should call TFC ask the nurse for advise if u need to see Dr cheng. Ask for Rebecca. She talk a bit fast and "chan keong" but helpful.

Need urgent help. Do any of you ahve the KKivf centre direct number with you now??? Need to call them, but I forgot to store their no. in my hp and hubby not at home to help me check my card. Only have the generic number for Central Appointments.
