I go see Dr Zou also... and I do not speak a word of chinese... most of the time my husband goes with me and translate for me.. but there is also a lady who speaks English and she translates for me....

The Doc did not even sound like it was important.. until I saw the nurse....
and now because my E2 level is ok... the nurse was telling me it is not to worry.....

But with gonal-f.... the cyst will grow..... so... they will have to keep a close watch..

Dr Zou from acupuncture was telling me as soon as the IVF is over and I stop taking "superfact" the cyst should just go away.......

I am doing the IVF cycle around the same time as you too... I will start my Lucrin injection in 3rd week of Nov, just before the KKIVF close for that 1 week. I guess if you are doing Lucrin injection it should not be a problem bcoz the injection should take you about 10 - 14 days.

Those of you who have gone through the cycle pls correct me if I am wrong. Really do not want to give wrong information.

thank for sharing. sometime i thought i was the only one especially when all my fren are preg. Everytime when i am cycling, some one in my group will be preg. Last year Christmas, i have an MC and a fren was preg, if my MC didnt occur i will be ard the same time as her. We went to a same party and a guy ask all the mummy to take photo with their children. I nearly cried on the spot.

My 2nd cycle is a BFN and i get to know a fren is preg AGAIN! Sigh !!! JEALOUS and ENVY...

I am 30 too and i have tried TCM, Accup. i have done 2 IVF(Fresh cycle). Did you record your statistic during each cycle? I have only 1 egg for implantation every cycle. I am thinking of changing my diet and lifestyle.

How was ur cycle after TCM and ACC? Did it improve? For me, i have good sizes of follicles but to my surprise i have only 1 egg.

For implantation, the womb lining play a big part, for the quality of embryo, it all depends on our biological status of ovarian. I am reading a book on How to get Preg by Sherman J Silber MD . In fact accordingly to the book, it is recommended to have a ultrasound scan on follicle count on the ovarian. This can help to determine if we are suitable for long or short protocol
And the blood test on FSH, E2 is not really accurate. For my case, I have good result in FSH and E2, and FSH is 6.1 (consider good right) and E2 is 50 when I first started then increased to 3000 over. All this numbers are useless to me. Hope I can see some light soon.

i am also a low responder. There was one cycle i only had 1 egg to put back too. After that i changed a different protocol. I used antagonist cycle and also increased my dose to 600 puregon.
I managed to harvest more eggs.

Dont give up. This bfp is my 4th round of IVF. And also i had a miscarriage in my 2nd round.

yes. Antral Follicle Count on day 3 of your menses is a good indication of how many follicles you can grow during IVF. I strongly believe in it since i am a low responder and every follicle counts.

i am 31 this year. yes i did 4 rounds of ivf and if i didnt success this round, i think i would have carried on with the next cycle.

grade 4 at kk is the second best grade isnt it? grade 5 being the best. i think grade 4 is a great grade too and the embryos have all the chance to implant. This round, my embryos were grade 4 and 3 and one (or 2?) implanted.

I was quite radical. On top of being on antagonist cycle and 600iu puregon during fsh. I tried TCM (herbs and accupunture) in my 3rd round. I tried DHEA pill for 2 months plus and i took doctor prescribed low dose aspirin after my ET and basically just pray that this will be the round. DHEA and aspirin are non scientifically proven so its not part of the protocol in singapore.

Each failed IVF was devastating for me. But my consolation was .. i know i can try IVF again. So i channeled all my saddess to making my body more healthier and better for my next round. Deep in my heart, i know the baby dream is attainable , just how hard i need to fight for.

I have friends who totally refuse IVF despite trying to get pregnant for 5 yrs. I have friends who refused at first and in the end succeeded in birthing of a child after rounds of IVF. I have older friend who gave it a good 5 rounds of trying and decided to adopt and also is seriously happy mom now.

I feel that.. its a matter of time.. your heart's desire will be fulfiled. This baby quest process is a character building life changing experience that is unique. I feel that it makes me a better mom to my child. Because i know what a precious God given Gift she is...

i also took provera, need to take for 10 days, 2 tablets per day. After 10 days, menses should come one day or 2 days later.
 
sue - if your doc says dont worry abt the cyst, then must listen and dont worry. the good thing is that you're on stage 2

tinted sky - wow, ok you're my inspiration when i'm feeling down. 4 rounds of IVF... are you working ? how do you explain to your boss you need to take HL each time ? i'm just curious cos i had to pluck up all my courage to tell my boss i need to take 2 week HL. sorry, bothered by all this work stuff. what is DHEA pill ?

Can i ask some silly qns? Aft 14dp2dt, is the pregnyl still in the body if my last injection of 1000 unit is on 17 Oct?
Also can an expired HCG test strip works properly to reflect the result?

Thank you. My doc didn’t ask me to do a Antral Follicle Count at all for all my cycle. He told me only blood test is able to tell how i react to the drug. Liar !! Nurses and doc must be thinking i am depressed or over anxious. i keep asking the nurse and doc, why they didn’t change the protocol? Should i try this, should i try that? It is so obvious that i am not responding well. I put in 1 egg for every cycle. This is so obvious right? And i change from 150iu to 225iu gonal F. Sigh. .

Did u take TCM and Accup this round? I plan to take DHEA too; may i know which brand are u taking now? I am channeling my energy to make myself healthier and racing against time. For this cycle, which protocol are you are doing? Sorry for asking so many question

I just failed 2nd IVF(Fresh) .  Plan to do one next year. Hopefully by then I am able fit enough to run a marathon too.

Yesterday I received a bad news. My friend is suffering from nose cancer. Feel so helpless that there is nothing I can do for her. Life is really unpredictable. Learnt a valuable lesson. Never take granted of what we have now. Even if I have failed a cycle, I still have one more cycle subsidy and I am still healthy to move on. Just got give it another go.

Liked your statement about the baby quest being a character life changing experience.

Your friend doing 5 rounds is amazing but guess it is only correct that we try out all options so we don't regret it latter in life. I had initially planned to do 2 rounds of ivf & then start looking at adoption. But now I want to try some more in the hope of making it. Though If I make it on my own I think I should give back to the adoption community in some way since they have provided us a hope for a child even if as a last resort.

Don't worry about what the doc & nurses think, you have every right to ask for a change in protocol & any other queries. I have failed 2 fresh cycles too & each time before going for doc consultation after a bfn I do some research & note down questions to ask. All the times , the doc changed the protocol for me though there were few things which they will not recommend - like dhea for instance(those things we can try ourselves)

But beyond that we need to trust the doc - if you can't seem to gain that trust maybe you should change to a diff clinic/doc. I feel comfort/confidence in the doc you are with is very imp else you will always be doubting their decisions & it may also affect your stress levels.

btw, antagonist cycle is not recommende to every ivf patients. It is a relatively new protocol compared to the conventional long lucrin cycle that is commonly used. Antagonist is recommended for older women or low responders. The reason why antagonist cycle is recommended for these patients is because it is believe that these patients may not response so well to Lucrin in the normal protocol. It is believe that lucrin put some follicles to sleep and couldn't wake up during Stimulation stage. So Antagonist cycle does not contain lucrin stage, it goes straight to stimulation like puregon or gonal f and then a few days into the stimulation when your lead follicle reach a certain size, they introduce a daily antagonist injection ( cetrodite or orgalutran or etc.. same stuff, just different name by different companies) . The rest is exactly the same process... HCG trigger when ready ER, ET .. 2ww ....
Antagonist Cycle is said to be a better chance for low responders/older women because it tend to get slightly more eggs to increase the odds of better selecion ... hence translating to higher successrate for patients with such profile.

i work part time in the office. I take one week leave for ET ER and bed rest.. Still, its a pain in the butt to have to explain to them. Anyway, i dont care what they think of me about takign leave because its not like im taking leave for a holiday ... i am taking leave for a darn important reason to me! hehe. About DHEA pill, you can google it along with the word IVF... lots of info can be found.

no worries, next round, try to seek 2nd opinion from another doctor or centre. you see, some centre's (esp like kk .. gov and super busy) they usually follow a standard routine which sometimes may not be the best option for certain patients. how many follicles did you get at ER? if its very little numbers....increasing FSH drugs can help. So darling..dont worry.. all you need is a good doctor/centre to pay attention and read from your 2 failed cycle and he will know exactly what to do for you. You failed cycles are invaluable data to ensure next cycle will be adjusted to the best possible outcome.

I took TCM in my previous cycle. I didnt do it this round. you can read up about the tcm i did during my 3rd cycle on my blog. True honest experience about what i feel about tcm experience and also how much it costed me.

Yes, i am so in tune with you... my sentiments are .. i exhause ivf option so wont have regrets when i move on to other options to fulfiling my baby quest.

We are so lucky batch of people hor, have the option to IVF .. have the option to adopt... its truly a blessing already..

agree with you. We are fortunate to have ivf in the country. Read that in other places, people travel out of town/country to do ivf.
 
Really admire you gers, so much courage to go on and on, even if its BFN, you will pick up and go for next BFP! Where do you gers find the courage?

For me the day i found my BFN, it was raining so heavily. I felt my heart cried as heavily that day too. Then i found my courage dwindled till i am even scared to do FET which i still have some embryos frozen.

Now you gers gave me the encouragement to go on. Once, twice, thrice, if still not making it, to go on and on and perservere till things happen right? Ok i will do just that. But this time i will move on with even more preparation.

I have been on chinese medicine and acupuncture already so i think i will just have to continue that. I am also trying to shed some weight. And next thing i want to try is to dwell more on fertility diet. I heard wheatgrass and flaxseed oil is good too. Tintedsky, i so wish i can get DHEA too. Although all these are not protocols in singapore but i have reached the point of 'what the heck, go all out and eat already'. What other suggestions do you gers have for fertility diet?

I will see dr Loh soon. I hope he can advise me what else i can do to be successful next round. Wonder whether he will agree if i suggest to be on antagonist cycle with higher puregon dosage and even do assisted hatching to aid implantation.

I am growing desperate and losing more courage with each cycle. Hope God takes a pity on my poor soul and save me from more heartbreaks

Those with KK, if your E2 level is below 100pmol during your day 14 of lucrin, its suppose to be quite good.

The other hospital may have different ranges so have to check with your clinics.

Sunflower, AC, Hopful88, have you gers thought about what you might want to do better or differently next cycle?
 
During stage 2 (puregon/gonal)..did anyone of you experience any pain?..not excrutiating but slight pain. I have been feeling pain at times on my left and at times on my right. when i sit i cn feel the pain. Is it due to the follicle growing??..hmmm...
i hope its cos of tht..hopefully its growing to the required size..n hope they are all good quality and i have many follicles...well not to many till have OHSS..heheh..

So if anyone has any side effects during stage 2 do let me noe. I wanted to call kk today but been so busy..that i completely forgot!

Saw from ur blog i guess u r also christian? No worries. Have faith in God that this time round is a BFP for you. I was also very depressed during my 2 yrs of TTC. Esp seeing my sis-in-law happily married with 2 kids. But each time i think of God's promise to us, i believe that my wish will be fulfill by God.

I am also a christian and trying very hard to have faith. But at times i still feel God forgotten me, while he let all my fellow sisters in christ all bloom one by one with babies, he left me in a corner, wallowing in self pity and sadness.

I know i have to get out of this rut and have more faith and draw closer to God. I know i have to keep trying otherwise i will never know what God meant to give me at the end of my ttc journey.

I hope i can be one of those who perservered and eventually emerged victoriously, like you, Tintedsky.

Ladies,

It's neg. Actually yesterday, I did a HPT to prepare myself. And it was neg. Today, I am at a better position in handling my emotions as compared to the previous one.

I will be taking a rest from IVF till end of the year and go on again mid next year. Currently, I am not sure if I still want to continue with same gynae or get a change. Will see doc sometime next week for the detailed explanation.

Will be back at work in November and thus I suppose, by then I am emotionally and physically strong to continue daily routine that I am used to. Will be away for a 1 mth trip to Norway to visit a friend in December and hope that will take my mind off ivf for the moment.

So all the best to you ladies here. I will still visit the forum. If anyone has any good recommendations for another gynae I will be glad to hear.

Thank you for the comforting words. The only word in my dictionary is perserverance. So I won't give up. Am collating other possible options - clinics or gynaes within this 2 mths and discuss with DH on the next step. Will try on our own in the meantime.

My FET cycle ended in a miscarriage at roughly 6 weeks. The stats for normal/ivf pregnancy is that 1 in 5 will end in miscarriage. So i guess i was unlucky.

Read from the net and also from what the doctor said, it most likely due to chromosome problems.. which occurs to non IVF pregnancies too. There is no definite answer. ..

Envy that you have frozen embryos! Most of my cycles i did not have enough to freeze. FET is very simple and can be alot less drugs compared to a fresh IVF cycle. Means cheaper and not much injections.

FET cycle/ 07 i think/ miscarriage/ kkivf/ dr sf loh

2nd fresh cycle /07/bfn/kkivf/dr sf loh/ only 1 embryo/ i was triggered too early i feel

3rd fresh cycle/08/bfn/raffles hospital/dr sheila loh/3 transfered/ no frosties/tcm/antagonist

4th fresh cycle/08/bfp/kkivf/dr sahdana/3 transfered/ no frosties/antagonist - with all the previous datas.. my hubby and i and the doctor can make better decisions.. like what does to start with.. what protocol.. how far to push before trigger.. etc
