Mabel, u will definitely ride thru it smoothly... and i feel that u r right, just like KKH Dr Loh, I also feel that his time is dedicated to the IVF patients and am also thinking of switching to another one after first trimester... different dr should have their roles to play, Dr Loh helps the IVF patients achieve a pregnancy, the other gynae makes sure they take good care of your pregnancy..

Dont have a regular gynae anymore cos my son is already 11 yrs old :p scratching head who to go to..
 
Daintreez - How about your previous gynae who delivered your boy? Is he/she good? If so why not go back since they have your record.
 
Hazel, m w Mt E. Ya. I went alone, my hubby in HK.

So happy! Really excited when the sonographer told me she saw it. She recorded it then play back for me to video it. Meeting my MIL for lunch, later show her also.
 
But if Dr Loh can still see you all the way, then it is also not a bad idea to stick with him. For me, my regular Gynae was the one who referred me to Dr Chew at NUH and she knows him so I also feel safe to go back to her since she can still communicate with him if really necessary.
 
daintreez, do you mind if i ask why are you trying for another child when you boy is already 11 yrs old. I mean my frens whose kids are older wouldn't want to try for another coz its like they have to start the process all over again ... you know the nite feeds, pampers etc thing

Mabel, the gynae that delivered my son was the senior consultant Dr John Tee from KKH also. Was referred to him by my family doctor 12 yrs ago

actually i dont mind using him, but some amusing things actually happened during my delivery with him so I'm still thinking if I should see him again, hehe... his consultation time is long too

Is there anyway i can continue seeing Dr Loh minus half of the waiting time? I think the time sitting on the chair that can cause us alot of backache man hahaha

Flowers, I had been trying for another child for 4 yrs. Didnt want another child earlier on as I felt that one is already a handful. But as my son aged, I realized he is really lonely, and putting him thru a lonely childhood is enough, I dont him to grow old alone with no siblings after i am six feet underground....

So after trying for many years without results, i went to dr loh to check what might be the issues... realized i've got endo and also 2 blocked tubes... i dont know why it became blocked over the years.... so thats y i resorted to using IVF to become a parent again

yes, the whole process gotta start all over again, but that's life... they will grow up eventually... my son is already 11, so I kind of know what i need to go thru again, and it will be well worth it

I'm going yo Nuh next monday.
True what you mention, prof n dr chew will only see you thru 12 weeks. After that it's up to you.
You can go to your own gynae. For me since I'm comfortable with Nuh b have no special gynae, decided to get prof to recommend gynae from Nuh.

I think Nuh follow the standard procedure as standard other gynae. Once a mth in 2nd trim n more frequent consultation in 3rd trim.

Daintree, dr tee waiting time is not long if u see him at Private suite.. I saw him for a yr b4 going over to see dr Loh.

If u wan to hv a shorting time seeing dr Loh, see him at pts. Seats are better, got refreshments n also chose timing before 530pm. Eg 4 plus or so before the rest of the patients finish work. Private suite only hv PM slots.
 
Hazel, how do i tell the nurses i wanna see dr loh in pte suite? in tat case then maybe i should really consider that.. can't stand the waiting time.... Dr Tee is a funny guy... when i was fully dilated and ready to deliver, he was cycling to hospital and i was in full labour pain cos epidural was taken out halfway as its not working anymore.....26 hours in delivery ward during my first delivery :p (blur blur go in and blur blur come out) told me that my son is 5-6 pounds so natural is fine, ended up my boy was 8 pounds 2 when he was borned... faintx again haha...
 
i am a small sized mother, standing at 155cm and was only 36kg before pregnancy... so imagine my son was the biggest baby then in the nursery and i was the smallest mum in my ward... and the natural delivery was really 'sweat'... :p

wow that is a big decision to make but its a good one "not wanting to your child to grow old alone"... I have similar reasons for wanting kids but its more selfish 'coz I dun wana grow old alone with DH. Can't imagine reunion dinner with DH only, feels so empty.

Not sure how many days I have to continue with suppression but my next scan is on Wednesday and E2 BT.
 
Daintree, book appointment that time u tell the nurse u wan to see him at private suite. Consultation is abt 15 bucks more per visit. Medicine same cost. U dun hv to take leave too to see him. U can always leave at abt 4 plus from office to see him. Tell ur boss u go see dr. The seats at TPS are sofa seats. V comfortable. Most Medicine also collects there. No need go pharmacy.


Actually, not knowing too much is rather blessed. Coz u worry less.. N dunno wat to expect also. No expectation less worry.
 
Flowers, just go on wed. During the scan asked Karen the sinographer when menses is coming. She ia gd. She can tell. Dun waste money doing the BT as u need to redo again after menses come. Just insist ok. The nurse told me is a protocol to do E2 BT even if menses not here. I said for wat since I need to redo. I dun wan to pay 2 times n get poke for nothing. She relented.
 
Just came back from 24 HR clinic at kkh...

I literally cried on the ultrasound bed when the doctor turned up the volume to hear my bb heartbeat... Saw flickering of heartbeat as well..

I'm having singleton..

Told doctor about my spotting and he asked me to up my duphaston to 3 times a day and they gave me progesterone jab on my thigh.. He dunno why I'm spotting..

Will still go for appointment tomoro.. But doctor knew that I was worried as hell! And he said it's common for ivf patients to feel this way cos this pregnancy was not easy to come by..
 
Silsilly, u r lucky to hv met an understanding duty dr at 24hrs. Some r very insensitive to ivf patients. At least this dr understands how hard we want a child.

When Is ur first scan. What he did was right. Dr Loh wld hv done the same.

Silsilly, bravo babe!!! dont cry anymore ok? i think it should be the body hormones thats causing u to be more worried and emotional now.. keep your spirits up and bb will feel it... one of my gf was spotting throughout her first few weeks of first trimester, dr gave her support and also ask her to bedrest more, pls dont do any heavy housework ok... things will be fine my dear... relax and be happy

Everytime when I read that U all see/hear the heartbeat I was wondering when will be my turn..... Dun have the chance to see/hear such things. Really really hope my turn will come soon.

The nurse told me I can stop the support and just take pain killers for my cramps. Doctor will see me after my menses is cleared.

Nell - You started going back to your own gynae after BFP? My gynae is also at Mt. E but I guess I will be seeing the gynae at SGH for now.
 
I believe there is implantation. It's just like no more growing. What can I done to improve my next chances. Advise is needed. Tks.
 
Sil, the gf of mine, her son is 7 months old now... relax k... for now, eat right, think positively, rest more and enjoy the pregnancy...
 
Jass, did the doc say it's chemical pregnancy? There is implantation but the embbies just didn't grow. I had the same situation in April and now doing my FET now. To tiao my body, I went to Dr Zou for acu and took her medicine. Also took Conceivewell together with folic. Hope it will help this time....

Joanne, so you rested for about a month before FET? I realised a lot of sisters here go to Dr. Zou. Is (s)he very good? What does (s)he do to help and how often do you go there?
 
Jass, I've seen Dr Zou only once for acupuncture, cos i found out too late to see her.. Seen another chinese physician in Toa Payoh since last sept and had been religiously brewing her herbs since then to drink everyday. The chinese herbs is supposed to improves blood circulation hence making the body heaty, but my body adjusted to it eventually... I took it all the way until i start my suppression jab in april.. then i only took another two dosage after my ER and before ET.

And I was also recommended to take the Longan, red dates, and wolfberries drinks. dont know how much to drink but i drank about 1 to 1.5 litres per day as fluid intake... (50 dates, 50 longan and 50 wolfberries estimated)

Actually my body is very 'cold' cos i was a beer drinker and i drank every night to sleep... i stopped drinking beer only in april and switched to moscato for one week just to adjust my body out of the it... i did realized that the herbs that i brewed to drink since last sept had really improved the blood circulation cos i dont feel so cold easily anymore... either than these, i didnt do anything else... except egg whites during stimulation and chicken essence one bottle every alternate day...and strictly no cold water, every morning i will drink one glass of warm water once i wakes up...

But everyone is different... maybe Dr Zou will advise otherwise for u

Sun, yes, i boil 50 of each (at least) at one go.... hmm, think the pot is medium sized type. Boil for 15 mins, then lower fire to medium for another 30 mins, then off the fire and cover the pot cover to let it stay for another 30 mins. Then the dates, longan and wolfberries will all be 'cooked' to the full... thereafter i just drink the drink for whole day adding warm water in between each glass of longan drink i drink...

The pot i used is corningware, cos after u turned off the fire the corningware is still hot so it kinda still continue soft boiling inside the closed lid.

End product, i get 1.5 litres of longan drink hehe

Flowers, yes stimulation only starts after menses is over. So for now, u carry on with lucrin. Dun worry it will come.

Sara, we also hope To bfp after going thru so many injections. I just keep both fingers n toes cross!
 


JT i also drinks lots of red dates, wolfberries, longan tea dis few days. Heaty. Alternate day I take chicken essence. Now nervous for 2morow. More nervous compare to my fresh cycle.
