Wah so nice! More eggs higher chance right? I had only one, at 19mm on CD12.. Also did not take med or jabs.. Good that you're not working.. Plan to quit my job too if really going for any procedure

Dunno leh.. I think it's ok for guys who don't have sperm issues, but my hubby thinks quality will definitely drop with age cos body is going thru aging process..

I am new to IUI. Will be doing my first IUI this Friday. So quite anxious.
Just went for a scan today on CD12. I have only one big egg which is about 14.9mm and the rest too small.. Gynae say it will mature in 2 days time.
I would like to ask: My gynae say after IUI, we must continue to "work" on Friday night and throughout the weekend morning and night to increase the chances. But I read that some of you say should rest after IUI. So can we really "work" on that very day after IUI or rest for that day? Need some advice.

Hi Saralyn, fertility doctors are also known as reproductive endocrinologists because they have so much experience dealing with hormone conditions (which are often at the root of fertility issues). E.g. in my case Dr Lim is I think one of the best PCO doctors in Singapore. I did the full bloodwork with him, cos I really just wanted to know what's wrong with my body chemistry. Did you tell him your reaction to the meds? After all, he was the one who prescribed you the meds.

Dragon: Thanks for your clarification on my doubt. I am doing my IUI with my usual gynae, Dr Fong Yang, at his clinic. Hopefully it is successful. If not successful, then he say will have to check my tubes to see if it is blocked. I am actually trying for my 2nd baby. My first was concieved naturally but due to my womb condition, gynae say must try fast way.

At that time, just wanted to go to a really good doc and felt that nuh was still a reasonable distance away.. Anyway, don't worry, just relax and give your body time.. I had hormonal imbalance 2 yrs back.. Had mood swings, so you have to try to relax and not get stressed out

I did read about someone on another forum who had spotting during first two weeks on clomid, turns out she had a cyst and had to cancel the cycle. Her cyst was 97mm!! That's a monster!
Dragon, I also went on TCM last year for a few months, menses came (but still irregular) and I think it helped but in terms of conceiving it wasn't helpful cos I have PCOS and the OPKs never pick up my ovulation correctly. I like Western medicine for fertility because it's more precise (to me).

Dragon: The sperm wash will be done in the lab at Mount Elizabeth. After that have to collect it from the lab again and deliver to the clinic for IUI personally.
My womb have enlargement issue last year end... it doubled in size.. had to take injection to shrink the womb.. so gynae say this will happen again as long as I had my menses.. so best is to get pregnant again in 6 months time which mean timeline is by June this year.

For endo, normally you will have painful period.. And, ovarian cysts are very common.. The best to find out you got endo is to go for key hole surgery..

Thank you saralyn. M hesitating whether to do keyhole or not as 1st doc suggested I do. But 2nd doc is cool about it and told me not to worry. M wondering if I shld do hsg to check for blockages? Then next iui in may when husband is around.

Thanks min... After hsg do I need recovery time before hsg? Doc didn't suggest the test to me? How? Do u know when is a good time to do hsg? Or any day is fine?

Hi jessica,
The HSG test is normally done in any of the few days right after your period ends.. So maybe around CD6-10.. Cos cannot do while pregnant as the dye can hurt the pregnancy, so to be sure, have it done right after your period.. No need recovery time, you'll probably feel some discomfort but manageable.. Can ask for mc for that day itself..
Actually, the test is done to check if your fallopian tubes are blocked.. It's normally done as a part of fertility test before deciding on trying IUI.. IUI will have higher chances if tubes are not blocked..

directly call my gynae n asked me to come they do the blood test for me....
Tommorow will be back to check whether the baby growing or not... keep praying....

Hi jessica, i'm not sure if you need dr to arrange the test.. My previous gynae arranged it with the hospital for me.. Since it's day 7, actually you can still call up your gynae to ask if can arrange in the next few days? Think up till about CD13 still ok.. It costs about $200 i think..

I'm feeling a little tired at work, I think all the meds do make my body a little weak. I prepared some 'ba zhen' soup tonight to 'bu' myself
I got a near positive OPK today again for the 3rd straight day. Unfortunately it's most likely a false positive. So sad that these OPKs aren't working for me

Hi Dragon, because I have PCOS, I have naturally high LH levels which will distort my OPK test results. From what my doc says, the only guaranteed way to test for ovulation for cases like me is via ultrasound scanning. OPKs quite useless for me. I did buy lots of the digital OPKs, and even the fertility monitor, then find out my investment all wasted..boo hoo hoo...

Dragon chew: yes it is my first try of iui, but i have been ttc for 1,5 years with clomid... I don't know how big my folic on my cd12 because it is sunday so my gynea only give me the hcg injection solution to bring it to GP to give me shot

My fist appointment was on 9 Apr at nuh. Doctor advise ivf. that day was coincidently D20, so the took the first blood test for Progestrone and Rubela. Next blood test appointment wil be 20 to 24 Apr, depends on which day my mensus come. They will also need my hubby to submit his semen within 2 weeks to test.
then 3rd appointment will be with doctor on 7 May, to see our result before dotor decide which procedure / treatment to go through.
