Dr Joycelyn Wong from KKH

Hi Bear

I took your advice and have made an appt. The nurse was really nice and gave me a slot on Fri. Yeah!!! I'm waiting to get a scan of my lil one...

Hi Bear,

just emailed Dr.Wong and made an appointment with her too. Looking forward to see Dr. Wong in 3 weeks time. Praying that all will be well.

Hi Baked bean, I am seeing Dr Wong this coming Mon. Do update me after your appt. If you don't like her, there is still another 2 other gynae in the same clinic. One is Dr Carolyn Khi and one is Dr Adrian Tan.

Lilac, don't worry...everything will be well. Take care now and do update me after your appt too.

Hi Baked bean,

I am always looking forward for my gynae checkup as can see what my bb is doing. I am currently in my 34 weeks already and EDD will be last week of June.

Hi i am looking for a gynae. But am quite confused with the msgs here.

Can i check whether is Dr WOng in TMC or KKH now?

Hi Bear

I had my 1st appt with Dr Wong yesterday. No regrets. Like how everyone described her, she is very patient and detailed. Would definitely stick with her...

I also got a scan of my bb, so quite excited showing it off.

hi baked bean,

good to know that you had a good appointment with Dr. Wong. I am hoping to see her next Friday when I return from overseas. She is so nice.... I emailed her and she replied me almost immediately. Already like her even though I have not met her yet. Initially, was supposed to return to Sinapore only in June. But two days ago, had bad cramps and the midwife here advised that I return early because I am already 80% effaced. Told Dr.Wong about it and she asked me to take care and hope to see me soon. So we are praying that things will be well and that baby will remain inside my womb till full term.

Hi Baked bean, glad that you like Dr Wong like I do.

I do agree she is very patient and always very ready to answer any questions we have.
So you should be able to see the little white dot which is your bb's heartbeat rite? I think you can see a little tiny shape of a bb too rite?

Hi Lilac, do you need to get a safe to fly letter from your gynae? Its better to get one. And, do remember to stand up and walk while on the plane. This is to prevent DVT which is blood cot in your feet which can be fatal.
In the meantime, do rest well.

Hi bear, I will get a letter from the midwife here. But don't think I will get to use it. I think I am carrying small even tho' I am into my 7th month going to 8th soon. So should be alright.

Thanks for the advice - will try to walk around. That is why we broke up our itineary into two parts.

Hi Bear

Yes I saw the heart beat!!! So cool. Too bad I cldnt hear it. My hubby was so excited when he saw the flashing dot. I've been showing off my scan... no one can quite make out what it is yet... but somehow I've memorised the shape.

Now I cant wait for my next visit. Will need to email Dr Wong soon coz I just remembered last nite that I took at Hep jab just before I conceived. Not too sure if it's anything bad.

Hi Lilac
Think u'll luv Dr Wong just like me. My hubby commented that she's the perfect one for me - not sure if he was sarcastic lah... but he likes her too. Have a safe trip home.

Had a wonderful checkup with Dr. Wong last evening. It was really good. She put me at ease and explained alot to me. The nurses/receptionists were really friendly too - though it was their knock off time. And yes, I would definitely stick with her for this and subsequent pregnancy =)

Baked beans, perfect one ah? Hahahaha...
I get what you mean when you described your excitment. I also remember I always take out the scanned pictures to admire during my initial stage.

Lilac, welcome back! I am glad that you like Dr Wong too. I agree the nurses are nice too.

Thanks for the welcome, Bear. Our EDD is about a month apart! I am due July 24 but seems like baby may come out early cos' baby is rather lower in my pelvic bone and I am effaced. Dr. Wong was saying that these are indications that he might come out early. But then again, some women can dilate for weeks before true labour starts. Well, as long as he is full-term (37 weeks) and that husband is back in time for delivery, I am happy.

Lilac, what is effaced huh? Is it dilated?
Since your bb is low now, do you feel the pressure in your varginal when you get up from bed?

In the meantime, try to eat more nutritonal food so that your bb can grow bigger as I read from the other thread that your bb is quite small now.

Glad you like Dr Wong too... she's just so nice. Not too sure if u noticed, but the way she pronounces "baby" has so much love in it.

Yah what dones effaced mean? Facing down? Well, good luck!

effaced means the cervix is thinning. Most first-time mums would efface first before dilation. Kind of scary when I heard about it from my mid wife. Was really worried that baby will come out when he is not full term yet. Thankfully, Dr. Wong checked and she told me that its still quite alright provided that I just rest at home and not walk too much. Not dilating yet so that's good news. She further state that there shouldn't be any problems for me to carry the baby to full-term.

Actually, I don't really feel the pressure on my vaginal when I get up from bed - think its because though baby is low in the pelvic bone, he is not engaged yet. Husband is going back China to finish his project before flying back again on the first week of July. Hopefully, baby will stay in till then or till the 38 weeks!

Linda, Mon-Fri 9am-5pm and Sat will be 9am-2pm
Its not easy to get an appt on Sat. If you manage to get Sat appt, usually have to wait pretty long.

Hi ladies,

I have made appt to see Dr Wong on 10 July afternoon.

Hopefully everything will go smoothly. Will be in 6 weeks then.

lilac,

Thanks... I'm v happy with Dr. Wong during my last visit though it was for D&C. She was really v patient & caring.

Would really love to continue with her when I'm preggie again. However HB would very much prefer me to get a christian gynae... M so glad that she's a christian

Have you given birth yet? Read you should be due soon rite

Hi Jenifur, glad that your time with Dr. Wong was good. I am sorry to hear that it was for D&C. Hope you are resting and recovering well.

Nope, I am still playing the waiting game. Baby seems to be rather comfortable staying inside me. Hitting my 39 weeks in a couple of days time. Praying and waiting expectantly for his arrival.

Hi Wintergal

What sort of charges are you looking at?
I got a package at week 12 and paid $598 w/o gst - includes consultation, scan & urine test.

If you are looking at consultation, I think it's $75 for the 1st time and $48 for the subsequent times. There is a separate charge for scan & vitamins.

She's very reassuring - which is important for 1st time MTB.

Hi,

What is the delivery charges likes?

Is her machine to scan good? Can do 3D scan there or hear the heartbeat?

Hi Rainy

I don't quite know the delivery charges - din bother to find out yet.

I'm not too sure if her scan is good but she's very nice and would try to take as many nice shots as possible for your keepsake. One thing though, she doesnt have the machine to hear the heartbeat - but u can see it on the scan (it'll be blinking) so I guess that is good enuff for me.

Baked bean/Rain, Dr Wong's delivery charges is around $1200 for normal delivery. Not sure about c-sect cost though.

And no, Dr Wong does not have 3D scan.

But yes, she will let you listen to bb's heartbeat when its time. She don't do it too early. I think should be around 5th month or later then she let me listen to bb's heartbeat.

had my 8 month old baby delivered by doc wong. she's very patient.the only doc i'm ever comfortable with doing pap smear too.

highly recommend her.

Wah, her rates went up so fast arh? Last yr she delivered my boy, the antenatal pkg from 12wks is only 580 w/o gst. And her normal delivery charges is $700. Now all shoot up. zzzz

hmm...i think the package price just got increased. when i was about to sign up with her, the receptionist told me it's 680 but since i was with her from the previous checkup before week 12, dr. wong actually gave me an old price which is 598

i sign up about a month ago...

Wondering is it too earlier to fix an appointment with Dr Wong since i am in my 5th week only. Understand that the package will start when week 12 rite.

hi bel,

u can fix ur appt with Dr Wong for your first appt at 6th week. consulation, ultrascan, supplements will be charge separately till u sign the package at week 12.

hi Linda

Just went to see normal family doc for supplements, so mostly probably will fix an appt when i am in my 8th week.. juz one month before the package start.

Hi all...i tested +ve on HPT last week...haven't gone to any gynae or gp for "confirmation" yet...made an appt w/ dr wong for next tues though...do u think i should at least go to a GP first?

Anastasia, I would say no need to go GP for confirmation 1st unless you don't trust the accuracy of your HPT.

hi, anyone tried calling dr wong at the clinic for advice before? i left msg with the reception girl (dunno which particular girl) for her to call me when she's available @ 9am but didnt receive her return call even until 6pm. sometimes i wonder if she ever get the msg.....

Snowhite,

Next time look for either Lily or Ya Huey. I ever encounter same problem before. HB complained to Dr. Wong & she told us to specifically only leave msg to e above 2 girls in future
