Ladies who has package with hospitals, does the amount include the detailed scan at week 20 too?
 
Cocolee, Im with KK and i paid around 100ish for the detailed scan.

Tutu, when i had my scan around week 12, dr said bb might be a girl.. So it was a pleasant surprise to find out its a boy. Saw the birdie. hahaha

and i remember someone saying that if you drink orange juice, bb will cooperate and be active... well, it didnt work for me, baby was sleeping..I had to walk about and cough so many times for bb to turn to ideal position.
 
Hi Whiteclover, yes! Ok, thanks... So the package only includes routine visits and the delivery?
 
Hope, dr loh gave me calcium pills cos i cant take dairy prdts.

Ladies, do you continue to take folic acid even though you are on prenatal vitamins?
 
Reikibaby, thanks! I try to take anmum milk but can't take everyday coz I will feel nauseous. So I substitute with fresh milk instead. Hmm dr Loh told me to stop taking folic in week 12.
 
Koirc - for gynae package with dr loh, it is only for 10 visits (consultation, simple scan and urine test). delivery is separate costing.

i didn't know abt packages for delivery. will ask in next visit.

Whiteclover, mayb i will continue to finish my folic. The one i hv contains b6. Hope it curbs my vomit.
Currently im taking prenatal+calcium+fish oil+vit c.

Did dr loh ask any of you to take flu vaccination? Yesterday he asked me to consider once i recover frm flu n cough.
 
All the mommies to be, good day! Have a question and hope to have an opinion from you guys. I remembered some mommies to be took baby aspirin 2 weeks prior to ET. How does it work?

Went for my 15weeks scanning n bb was very active n waving at us. But still dunnoe what is the gender yet

I am doing FET in Oct. Hooray! Ask you, baby aspirin to be taken 2 weeks prior to ET right? Did Dr loh prescribe?

Yes, I went to CARE and had a second opinion with Angela. She asked me to do FET with Raffles since we started with them. So okay loh. She is really nice but she doesnt want me. hahaa.

Reikibaby, I'm not with Dr. Loh. But my doctor told me I can stop taking folic acid cos the prenatal vitamins contain folic acid.

Do any of you feel breathless sometimes?
 
Reikibaby, my gynae said can stop after 12 weeks but can also finished whatever I have. He suggested I shared the rest with my hb...

First time mommies, can I check when do you start wearing maternity clothings? My tummy starts to get big but it's still small (I feel) for maternity clothings leh. Feel weird and pai-seh to wear maternity clothings now but my jeans is getting too tight for comfort.
 
znatasha, u can get a pair of maternity jeans. Shld be much more comfortable. Buy clothes in larger sizes or search for loose cut clothes? I also had headache during the transition period abt what to wear without looking like I'm a ba zhang or wearing a lampshade. LOL.
 
Hi Luv, thanks. Will go get one else my T-shirts will be wasted. I have few maternity tights, but can't find long t-shirt that can cover the butt, oversize t-shirt looks funny...haha wonder how long to go before this transition period ends.
 
just a silly question, do you ladies spent a lot on maternity clothings? I feel heartache to spent over $600 on changing my wardrobe and yet still not ready to wear them... My sisters-in-law maternity clothings were over 10yrs ago so I don't have any "hand-me-down" stuff...
 
Znatasha, I haven't bought any maternity clothes yet. I am wearing those looser clothes. I bought the belly belt so that I can still wear my existing jeans for a while. I see that maternity clothes are expensive. I think I will start buying in another 2 weeks or so.
 
Whiteclover, can just see gp. But inform them that you are preg.
If dr loh doesnt have the med, he will write a prescription to buy from pharmacy.
Regarding the flu vaccine, dr loh mention that he received a memo that preg woman should take the vaccine. Cos he said the flu bug will linger ard for some time. So he ask me take when i recover. Maybe my next visit to him in a mth time. Dh ask me take since dr loh say ok.
 
I remember falling very sick after taking flu vaccinationa few yrs back. Was told its happens. So im not too sure abt the flu vaccination ..

Reikibaby, not sure if the flu vaccine is the same one I took years ago. Remembered that I also fell very ill after taking the vaccine and the vaccine protects u against some flu virus, not all types.
 
Ladies do you all really sleep on your sides throughout? My left side got numb after some time and I will try to switch to sleeping on the right. Any tips to that?

hope - i don't. i try very hard to sleep on my left. but when i wake up, i'm always on my back or on my right. Once, i was even sleeping on my tummy.

now i try to put a bolster between my legs to minimise sleeping on back.
 
Whiteclover, I see. Sometimes I find it more comfy to zzz on my back instead oops! my Gf told me as the tummy gets bigger it will be easier to sleep on the side.... I certainly hope so!
 
I cant sleep on back. Will feel a pull at tummy. Favourite position is on the right. But throughout the night i will toss right then left. But usually on the right.

Will check with Dr Loh regarding the vaccination next visit. Thanks ladies.

Btw, anyone thought of getting a doppler?
 
Reiki baby, my favourite position is on the right too. Once my left is numb and uncomfortable I will switch to the right.
Hmm I'm not getting... U thinking to get one?

Usually the flu vaccine is advised if you r going overseas. Like wat whiteclover said, can suffer some symptoms of flu after vaccination.
 
Whiteclover take care. Eat more kiwis n apples. N drink plenty of water.

I always try to sleep on left side, but will wake up on right or back too. So usually if I m Just resting on bed, I will lay on left side so as to "bu" back.


Btw have u all ladies start to wear wireless bras now?
 
Sade, me too I try to lie on my left when I'm resting. It's really not easy to sleep on the left.
I'm wearing a mixture of wireless and wired bras Keke.
 
sade - i've been wearing wireless bra from Uniqlo since week 10. I get very bad indigestion if i wear wired bras.

are you seeing dr loh next week? rem to ask about the booking of the maternity ward thingi hor.
 
Hope, since dr loh will see me every 4weeks in 2nd trim, was tinking of getting a doppler....haha...read that some ivf mummies in 2012 used it.

Eskimobaby, hmm....yah worried about the side effect after vaccine....haha...think i just up my vitamin C. Now guai guai take my golden kiwi...read it is superfood...super high in vit c.

I'm still wearing wired bra. But on days when the boobs feel big, i will wear non-wired bra.

reikibaby, yes kiwi is v good. vit c is higher than oranges. And the taste is v appealling now.

Heard that it's good to wear wireless bra asap. Can help to reduce blockage.

Guess no need to buy doppler cos soon u will feel bb kick.
 


Sade, how much is Sorella bras? Marks & Spencer now has the twin set. Two bras at $49. I just bought over the weekend.

Btw, I remembered few days ago, some of you were talking about Medela breast pumps. Does anyone know the diff between freestyle and pump-in-style? To me, pump-in-style seems too sophisticated with all the extra accessories. But are they worth it?
