Hi ladies, I have delivered today at 1 plus. Woke up at 7am cos can feel water coming out. Went to delivery ward at 8am and nurse said I'm 2.5cm dilated with regular contractions. Didn't feel pain yet but decided to opt for epi anyway since I wanted a painless delivery. Gynae came at 11 plus and I'm about 3cm dilated. He burst water bag and I was fully dilated by 1pm. Kept pushing as baby not engaged and still high up. Told the nurse to prepare for the option form for assisted delivery (vacumn) since she was facing upward and still high. Gynae came and with 30mins of pushing, baby is out!

Really looking forward to carry my little princess on my arms!

I am in my 36 weeks, have not been sleeping well recently as I will wake up every 2 hours at night due to the sharp pain around my left ribs area. Now is getting worse, the ribs will be painful even when I am sitting down..

Any mummies facing the same pain as me?

Canopyhaze, thks for the prompt update! Baby is 2885 grams. I'm perspiring now... Hubby feeling cold but I'm sweating.. Baby keep sleeping and don't want to suckle... Finally offload and can sleep well today. Btw, TMC gave us a gold dragon display ornament which I thot was quite nice... Service wise, nothing to complain. Got good, helpful and friendly midwives, nurses and ward quite peaceful thou it's 2 bedded. That's all for today! Zzzzzz.....
 
Wow .. So many Jan mummies popped these few days, already more than 10 ... Congr to all and take care ... Although I have done mine, still interesting to read other labour stories . Thx for sharing ~

My confinement lady also didn't expect mine come out 10 days earlier and she can't come on time too. So we get my husband aunt to cook confinement food for me then we take care the baby by our own .. It's our first baby, was not able to sleep during the first night, baby keep waking up and cried ... Tonight will be the second night, hope won't be worse than last night.

Hi for those mummies who have popped how to differentiate whether its water leak or urine leak? Sometimes go toilet after pee, think finished but after a while got liquid comes out again, can't tell if its urine or water leaking leh
 
<font color="119911">hmmm... Birth story... Dun really knw how and what to write as never done before! Will try!

Well, I started having irregular painless menstrual-like cramps from 6am+... Maybe only abt 2-3 times? Was really painless, just uncomfy!
After making a post here at abt 9am, the pain suddenly came in at abt 5-6min interval!
Decided to monitor for a while more while I get out of bed to freshen up and the pain turned to unmanageable...
So I quickly got hb to prepare #1 to go over to mil hse while I go shower at abt 10am...
By the time I settled #1 and rch TMC, it's abt 11-ish and I'm already 6cm dilated and cervix very thin!
Quickly requested for the laughing gas and within an hr, I'm allowed to push liao...
But hb still doing admission for me! Imagine it's that fast...
Luckily the nurse managed to get him up in time to witness the birth!
It's only after delivery that he continue to do the admission... lol

So... 2nd time mummies... Better start preparing for admission once feel something is amiss wo!</font>
 
Aspialle - water bag break (as far as I can recall for my first baby) results in quite fair bit of water - like a gush..and it continues leaking such that you need a pad.
If after peeing, still have bit of "water", probably just more pee.

No chicken &amp; eggs for at least 2 weeks, if csect. That's what my previous confinement lady forbid me to take. So, it's just pork, fish &amp; vege.
 
LDG - that is so quick, and so sudden. Glad you managed to rush there in time.
My doc said if contractions 10 min apart must go to hosp already (for me, cos 3rd baby)..but yours sound so sudden, barely any warning.

Chin: yeah!! It's tmr!! Like so fast.. Hehe!! At least i know when i'm goin to hosp, gd luck to u!! Shd b anytime soon.. Coz i'm having irregular contractions (i tink).. And the weird thing is, it's mainly at night..

Aspialle,
When water bag break, u will not be able to control the gushes even if u try to do the kegel squeezes. Also it is recommended to smell (tho little gross) - amniotic fluid is clear, colorless and no ammonia smell unlike urine. Last time for #1, my water bag broke first before I had any other signs n the gushes came several times within a short 30 min.
 
Congrats to all mummies that had delivered. Great job after 10 months of pregnancy and anticipating.

I had chicken n eggsduring entire confinment for both my c-sect. According to gynae, only seafood is a no-no. Mil also mentioned that chicken is good for producing breastmilk. I remembrred my sil who went through normal delivery but do not want to bf bb had only pork throughout her entire confinment.

I 've also been getting contractioand the interval seems to get shorter too. Had loose stools for at least 5 times since morning and ge this suan suan feeling at lower back. Guess bb is coming soon.
 
Bblove: gd luck!! Hehe!! Wonder issit coz bb knows gonna c us soon.. Moving vigourously inside since an hr ago.. Super pain n uncomfy.. I'm nt reli timing the contractions coz don seem to be regular. N alot of pple commented tat my bump like still very high up.. Oh no!! Hopefully like the rest of the mummies.. All such short n fast deliveries!!
 
Angeliqueous: i guess diff pple have diff effects.. For my #1 i did take epidural.. The onli side effect i had was uncontrollable shivering.. Bt nt true for me on the part on no feeling at all after tat. Coz after epi, it was total relief. Bt i still had pain (bearable this time) when fully dilated. Tats how i knew it was time, called the nurses and was told yes, time to push. Nt sure issit due to gd anethetist or it's juz the body taking the drug well. For ur birth plan, u could state u want, bt on the delivery day itself if u don intend to take it oso can.. Coz they will still ask u on tat day whether u intend to take epi or not. My take is, decide on tat day itself, coz for now, i say yes to epi.. Bt who knows on the day itself my pain threshold suddenly goes very high n i can take the pain? Than no need epi already. As for after delivery when epi wears off, i don rem feeling much pain.. I didnt even take the painkillers.. Of coz u have to take care of the wound after tat..
 
Julie : i am more afraid about the part they say it will slow down the contraction and then later give you pitocin to help on the contraction and cos bb to be destress like they say in the video. maybe like u say, we can try to "tong" until cannot then take the epi.

Ok, chin and angeliqueous.... U ladies better get some rests le... I will have to stay up since I'm suppose to wake up at 6 to get ready to go for hospital appt.

vivian/ chin : sounds like vivian's apptmt is really early but do try to catch a nap. I heard that sleeping less than 6hours will trigger contractions (not sure how true - but try to rest more bah) I am gg back to slp too - my bb also very hyper at these time nowadays.

Pocketpig, my baby kept crying last night too.. My MIL accidentally mixed up the feeding schedule by feeding baby's water (10ml). Sigh.. Till baby cried for milk every 2 hours.. Which eventually I thought was colic and did not give him any milk thereafter.. Just carried him for 1 hour...He cried so pitifully till almost no voice.. Felt so guilty and depressed that I have not been a good mother..

U are a good mother and hv gone thru 9 mths of pregnancy and c sec to deliver your little one!

maybe just remind your mil and all caregivers that doc says bb does not need to be fed water at all and should only drink ebm/fm in first 6 mths? (I always say 'doc says.....' so not my instructions but it's what doc advises) take care!

Chin n bdmummy thanks for the advice cos no 1 is by induction and doc is the one that burst my water bag so not sure.

Joey, bb below 6 months does not need plain water, their stomach too small just need BM or fm

Thanks bdmummy and aspialle for the encouragement and advice.. That's what I said to hubby and MIL last evening.. She seems offended and left in a huff thereafter.. Ended up hubby and I suffered all night to settle the uncomfortable baby.. Sigh.. Think older people think that baby with jaundice must drink water to clear it.. Even my mother kept pressuring me to give baby water after the milk feeds..

Hi mummies!!

Joey I recall your baby is slightly premature so u trying to beef up birth weight... Then all the more no need feed water just give milk.. Cos the tummy v v small.. I also understand on the older generation beliefs hiaz, but don't worry u are doing a great job.. We can only try our best at convincing them.. Me too had a tough time convincing MIL and my own mum !

So exciting to see so many birth stories!! Seems like all v fast labour.. My #1 was 20+ hours.. Seems so long compared to the mummies that have just given birth!
 
Morning ladies!!! Final day of 2012...

Me having insomnia too!!! So hard to sleep at night.

Any mummies still working? Initially plan to work one more week till end this week. Start ML 7 Jan. But now very tired, don't know can tahan going back office on 2 Jan or not? 3 Jan gynae appt.
 
waa LM, the weight scan difference so much! i am also with Dr Tham and baby weighs 2.3kg on 24 dec.. i kept thinking baby is too small and tried to eat alot tonics.. hopefully by the time i deliver i dont get a shock ~
 


piyoz, i always wake up in the middle of the night 2 times coz got the urge to peee..

yes.. still working. this week last week in office and gonna start working from home next week onwards

baby names: how are you all choosing their chinese names? i am thinking if need to go to a fortune teller after delivery or just anyhow choose one that sound nice..
