Wow Tromso,
Thanks so much for your input on where to get the herbs, things and location of lao ban niang. Hahah I was just looking at my bb stuff and realized hubby's nagging is right - I have been buying too many misc stuff and overlooking the more immediate stuff. Hehe

I think once a week is fine for both bird nest and cordyceps. If have budget, maybe can take more? Since looks like both no side effects, eg not causing phlegm or allergies etc, I'm also not too sure....

Yep, I'm also not buying any baby thing yet, just doing some research now, so when time is right, can just go and buy, cos I heard more difficult to move about mid- late second trimester. Also very afraid if at later stage ask hubby to shop alone, will end up getting wrong items since so many models and varieties for everything. Good thing this is not your first born, your previous experience should help a lot

Kimmy, for pre delivery, I think can start cordyceps fr 2nd trimester all the way to end 3rd trimester. For ingredients, I gather from this forum that can brew together with bird nests, like how Faithfully is taking it. But I mostly hear people brew with lean pork. As for quantity and frequency, I'm still unsure, have heard diff info, so hoping someone can help clarify....

I'm seeing my TCM dr next Monday, maybe I can share more then.

Tromso, the $300 claim per day By GE is for The most Serious NICU ward. In KKH, there are NICU & SCU. For pte hospitals, all are called NICU, depending on levels. Level 3 is most serious (kkh NICU) n is for $300 coverage a day. At kkh, a day cost in this NICU is abt $1k at A class rate. But the 2 levels are level 3 is 2A & 2B (equivalent to Kkh scu) are only $100 coverage a day only.

Gals, go n read your GE policy sent to you. Is all there. We must know wat Insurance coverage we bought right?

Hi Kimmy,

Cordyceps is to be taken during preggy from 2nd tri all the way to confinement. Its very good for immunity, build up the lungs etc..good for bb and mummy. So me and hazel has being taking it since preggy. Just double boil with meat, chicken (black or white) with "pao seng" for 2.5 -3hrs. Better to drink during the day.

Joanne, sorry I only login to forum via my phone. Lao
Ban niang has several shops at the bugis market go to the main shop at 03-55 I think... It's near a staircase... Look for Helen. No need to seriously bargain juz ask her for discount. Chris also goes there to buy. I never compare prices cos my parents knows Helen and trust her so we juz buy from there.

Tromso, well our parents brought us up and give whatever they can juz give them a token of appreciation for helping out. My dad is not working so he is my standby 'helper' must pay him salary too right haha... Juz give what u can afford.

Thanks for clarifying Hazel. Looking at the TMC online info, it says NICU lvl 2A $200+, lvl 2B $400+, lvl 3 $500+ so these are charges for cheapest ward is it? That's why you mentioned KKH A class NICU is 1k, so tmc should be more then....Quite confusing the online info.

Yes, I'm aware the GE pays up to $300 a day...will read up more too.

Hi, this is wat I heard fr e older folks. Just to share. For cordyceps, it is advisable not to take too much during predelivery is becoz it is very bu n bb may be a big size bb. That y normally they will advise to take abt 3-4 bundles will do.

For myself, I m taking 3 bundles. Normally brew it with lean meat, whole black chix or normal chic breast or drumstick.

As cordyceps is really very ex, I eat oni once a week. Then other days will make dangshen drink with lOngan, red dates or bird nest. Have a variety of diff tonics to drink. But I will stick to 2 tonics days per week coz everything in moderation la. Dun overbu too

Btw, my uncle's frd is a Chinese med shop owner. He told my uncle tat for those in 3rd tri shld nw start taking tonics which are meant for bu qi rather than e normal bu body. Bu qi is impt nw so tat those gg for natural birth will haf sufficient stamina for pushing.

The dangshen drink which I mentioned is an economical tonic drink to bu qi.
