-buy lots of wet wipes/cotton balls as they use up pretty fast - unless you are confident enough to carry bb to wash with water everytime they pee or poo. it's usually just easier to clean them on the changing table.


-buy at least 2 packs of diapers to stand by (NB bb changes 7-8 time a day) (or get samples from various diapers company)- and it's difficult to get newborn diapers from neighborhood supermarkets - often out of stock - we found this out the hard way when we run out of diapers.
 


KWXY - in the morning got abit of spoting.. but luckily no more already.. then at night i get cramps.. the feeling is like my tummy felt "heavy"

my evening sickness getting worse too.. yest vomited even before i ate anything.. maybe too empty alrdy..


Noel: i jus bot 3 new bras over the weekend.. my current one is jus too tight.. and uncomfortable.. i bot it at metro.. about $18 each.. without wire one.. you can check it out..
i cant remb what brand thou.. its placed together with nursing bra..

is this ur #1?? u seem v well prepared!! haha.. hb suggested we should not buy too early.. since we duno the gender of our bb.. maybe we'll wait till at least we know the gender.. then at least its easier to choose on the colours =p

Morning everyone

Felling real down today. Was feeling hot and sweating the whole night,and this morning, I'm down with flu bugs again. Sneezing and coughing but still need to drag myself to work. Boss was not at all sympathetic asking me not to take MC because I haver to cover a colleague who's on leave! To make things worse, another older colleague has to come by my desk just now and ask when is my EDD-why? Her intention was to let me know she wants to go on leave during Christmas breaks and CNY breaks so she wants to make sure I know in advance to cover her before my EDD!Hey, what's the world coming to? These are all ladies with children, why aren't they at all empathy towards a pregnant woman? So sick now, feel like breaking down.

If me, I just take MC.... don't bother too much. ya, is not good but you also have to take care yourself 1st. And if your colleague want u to back up her, then tell her u will on ML early lor. You also need talk to boss before you ML few advance must get a temp to do your backup lor. so during then last Tri you wont so tired in work. If boss never get a temp, then what if your bb suddenly pop out early...who knows?
 
Al - As Tuna contain mercury. so try nt to take too much..

Al, thanks. Not sure if its the hormones but I tend to get easily emotional these days. For 1st baby, wats the possibility of popping early? And usually its like a few days early or weeks early? I hope my Baby don't pop early during CNY, otherwise there won't be any helpers.

#2 for me, my #1 is 24 mths. it's a lot harder having #2 when have to look after a toddler. actually nothing much to buy for #2 since lots of stuff are hand me down from #1.

anyways for mummies with #2,#3, with 2-3yr age gap, what sort of pram will you be getting to accommodate a baby and a toddler who also needs his nap time?

i am looking at tandem strollers rather than side by side as side by side will be a challenge thru door ways and supermarket aisles.
 
Jen> my #1 pop early 2 week. but i have few freinds they have high blood pressure during pregnancy, their 1st baby pop out early 1 or 2 months. so, it is possible.

During my pregnancy I also inpatient, show my emotional... but I try to think of my baby and listening some soft music. if our temper good will make our baby good also, if we always throw temper will effect our baby. So think more positive be happy...

Happy, my gynae say #3 60% girl!!

Babymaking> my dd 2yr+going 3 next feb, now son is 10+ mth. Got two single stroller and a tandem one.. Tandem one I rarely bring out especially alone cause go escalator very dangerous cause long as it's front n back but it's the shortest tandem stroller I could find..

I use single stroller and ergo carrier most of the time ,or my son in stroller n dd walk. Ergo is the best investment I ever made!my dd only about 19mo when my son is out.. So for a 24mo+ age gap very good already.. Where by this bb is out my son only about 16-17mo only
 
I seeing Dr Yvonne Chan, she told me my water bag is small and not very normal. Make me so worry.. Tot of getting a second opinion.
 
Jocelyn, me seeing dr Benjamin Tham too.. So far so good.. No complaint... B4 preg, I went for pre-con check, it's female gynae and she suggested me to go for kidney scan since my late mum got kidney prob... But when I see dr tham after preg, he say the kidney scan not necessary, the scan can't tell anything (**\\)... I'm not anti female gynae.. But since u seeing female now, can consider go to a male gynae for 2nd op.... Just my 2cents....

I'm with Dr Benjamin Tham too! Seeing him next Thursday, 4th aug. Need to chk with him is it necessary to do Oscar test. I find it very costly compare with other hospital. Mine is Oscar + 20 weeks details scan = ard $550. I hope I can just go for the detail scan at 20 weeks.

Let's see what he said. I'm 30 this year and I hope I'm not under the high risk mummy. Any advise?
 
Errrr... I hope my comes out after cny. My edd is on 5 FEB. I want a dragon baby la! Omg... I must tell BB to endure till after cny than pop out.

CL: my mil got me 1 contact and lucky she's available. My mil told me she no strength to look after me and kept pestering for a maid. To me and hubby, we won't leave our kids to a maid. I rather bring to early childcare. So many maid stories ard, scare liao. Oh ya, during confinement .. Is it true that our clothes must be hand wash? BB clothes too?

Appetite: duno why recently my taste bud seems funny. Everything I eat seems very saltish. Any one has the same taste?
 
Kwxy: I'm 30 too. But I still go for the tests. 买个安心啦... See so many channel8 shows on children with abnormalities, also worry that we cannot handle one.
 
Kwxy, tmc got promo for Oscar + detail scan.. Think 400+... I plan to get the FBI so will get another 10% discount... Maybe u shud call up to make app first, coz the scan dep super pack... Very diff to get app... If dr tham say it's ok not to scan then u just cancel lor... For me, he ask me to go for the scan and since I already planned to scan so didn't ask much.....
 
Kwxy: I do the tests at Tmc. Yap, I join the first mother incentive, paid $140+ for membership. Than I do oscars at 10% discount, which means I paid only $390+. My gyne will also give me 5% discount on childbirth, and hospital gives me $80 rebate on hospitalization charges (I think about this amount depending on the type of "class" ward u staying. Than I think baby got 6th mths free insurance coverage etc. I think quite worthwhile to join this scheme. U can consider
 
Kwxy, dr tham's clinic never participate in the FBI programme so no discount for us... But for scans, courses and other stuffs we do in tmc will get discount....

Hi AL, you are right, I will try to keep a positive mood for baby. Retail therapy works- thinking of shopping at Taka baby fair makes me happy for a while.

Kwxy- I thought the scans were expensive too but it seems everyone else is doing so I go along too.I'm paying full price $550 as well as I'm not planning to deliver at TMC, so not getting the FBI card. Dr. B Tham is not involved in the 5% childbirth scheme so we won't get any further discount from him other than the $100 hospital bill discount.
 
Al, I have difficulty sleeping too. stomach is having bloated and heavy feeling, and I'm feeling warm even with aircon on.

haiya, sometime cannot sleep I wake up see the clock 3am or 5am.
 
Anyone went for tour at TMC and Mount Alvenia? I have not gone yet but we are catholics so hubby prefer Mount Alvenia. For me, I wanted to save some money on delivery-would TMC or Mount Alvenia single bedded be cheaper, hope the more experienced mummies can advise?
 
Can't sleep well too... But fall asleep early like 10plus.. Will walk up at 2am.. Then 4am and/or 6am... Sometimes feel body ache and can't sleep well...
 
Shobieann, I din keep a distant on cold stuffs... I still eat n drink as long as in moderate... I even still drinking my daily dose of coffee.... As my gynae told me as long as everything in moderate is okie...

the main concern about caffeine is it increase metabolism and heart rate, may stress the fetus. But checked on various websites and with my gynae. Actually allowable up to two cups a day.

Cold stuff, as someone mentioned before, warms up by the time it hits your stomache.If you feel alrite, just go ahead and eat. if still have reservations, then don't. Main thing is do whatever you are comfortable with. I still take cold drinks, ice cream etc. Other than limiting my caffeine to a cup a day, my diet is still roughly the same as before
 
Birdbrain,y gynae said one cup a day only n it means one scoop of coffee powder only. That means double shots of esspreso is no no
 
Jen: I delivered at Mt A and have no complains. We're catholic as well and you can request for a blessing for your baby on discharge. The little chapel is very peaceful and nice.

Babymaking: My kids are 2 years apart, in the beginning I used a Phil and Teds Vibe, now no.1 is older and prefers to walk but if we go to the park/zoo, I still take my Vibe
 


This week nausea at its peak man...really less appetite and vomit but nothing come out. quite xin ku. before this week, it was still manageable.
Hope by end of this week, which is end of my first trimester, things will get better!

can't wait to see my precious one this Saturday!
