Dearest all, sorry I don't have any good news to share with all of u. I had a miscarriage in the morning n gynae has performed a d&c for me. My bb is now in heaven. But all, pls don't b affected by my misfortunate as it only happen to 1 out of 6 preggies. I'm sorry that I can't join in the thread anymore but I wish every mummy have the healthiest babies n smooth deliveries.

 


Hamrach, don't be upset. It's nature's way of selecting the fittest to survive.

Rest well, do and mini-confinement to build up your health and try again when your gynae gives the ok. Pray that you will strike again soon! *hugs*

Dear all, i just went gynae and had a scan too.

Doc says im 6w+ but can see watersac growing bigger with yolk sac but no heartbeat. :-(

he's askin me to go TMC checkup using v scan on Monday and go back see him Tues.



hb even asked whether any hospital open now so, can go and scan first.





Please pray hard for me n bb...we r so worried now...:-(

 
guava, dr adrian doesnt do v scan at his clinic? dun be worried, sometimes its too early in the preg to detect the heartbeat. did he say whether can go the kkh 24hr for a v scan today? i only noe there got 24hr, bt not sure if u would prefer gg there vs gg tmc...

 
hmm seems like he doesn't have that in his clinic, otherwise would have tested just now. I think i go TMC better. I hope its just baby hiding behind my fats...they say v scan can see more details and clearer....i pray hard and hope to see bb on Monday...

 
Guava, got some mummies mentioned his machine quite old and he often doesnt do v scan...i dunno why..either cannot hear heartbeat well or cannot see sac clearly....pls go directly to tmc or kkh 24hrs so you feel better.

guava: Don't think too much. Giving yourself too much pressure and all may make things worse!

 
Guava, sometimes could be your bladder is not full enough so can't see clearly. Cos for abdomenal scans, it is highly dependant on whether your bladder is full or not for the first trimester.



And the equipment is rather exp, so I guess unless the clinic is new, most gynaes are not using the latest machines.



TMC has a 24hr clinic. But not too sure if they have gynae on standby or not. You wanna give them a call to check?

 
Guava - when I first saw gynae at week 6, he also didnt mentioned got heartbeat or not. Dunno hs machine old or what. In the end, I changed gynae but have to wait a week before I got my appt. Then finally I saw my bb n the heartbeat.



So dont worry too much. Sometimes is really old machine that cause the problem. So long no spotting, u r fine. Hope this will comfort u.

 
btw, not everyone can see heartbeat at 6w. Sometimes the position not right, they also see it at 7w or 8w. Don't worry too much since you are going for another scan soon. But if really very worried until can't rest/sleep, then go TMC ok?

Thinking going TMC better since they have the proper machines used by specialised technicians to do the scan...so, dont want to go to stand-in docs at clinic...

Guava, no harm going to try out another gynae if his clinic has the newer machine.

My gynae has the v-scan but he tries not to use it cos can be quite uncomfy.

 
Guava, don't make urself too worried. It's usually too early for some mummies to hear bb heartbeat at week6.. Some may even late at week8/9

dont go KKH 24hours clinic. I did vscan there. had a terrible shocked whn it says cant see bb. more worst. the machine they use not as good as Dr Benjamin... plus I don like the white lights there, feeling uncomfortable doing vscan in such a bright light. Dr Benjamin's room is cosy and abit dark... feeling more privacy...The machine he used is much more better than KKH. can zoom in, zoom out, see heartbeat, see pulse. When you did vscan, there's a hanging TV in front of you, showing ur bb. Dont need to turn ur head and look at his screen... Dont worry too much...

Pray&Love, yes stop crying and feeling so moody! Not gd 4 u n bb. Dun worry abt the length. Gynae said we can afford to eat more during 1st tri but I nid 2 control my diet more during 2nd tri due to my diabetes.

emilybaby, my hb's also shocked at bb size esp since I've been controlling my diet. Maybe this will b a big bb n my VBAC plan may go down the drain.

Guava, try not worry abt no heartbeat. Some gynaes can detect heartbeat at 8 or 9 weeks. Can see watersac and yolk sac is gd enuf. Keep hoping and trusting! V-scan is not painful, juz uncomfy but once probe is inside ur vagina, u won't feel the pain but will b v excited 2c he screen! :)

not painful for dr benjamin did it. i rather feel more comfortable than the kkh gynae did it. she keeps push in one..so rude! for dr benjamin, he did ask me to inform him if i don feel comfortable then he will stop it. he said he doesnt mean to hurt me...haha



u will be more excited to see the screen in front of u!

v scan.. can see from screen? hmm , how does it works, doc will probe from V and check and we can see on screen? under wat circumstances will doc do v scan? and how much does v scan cost..

which brand is the soya milk that you drink? where to buy it neh? now i only drink those home made one in the morning. i took 2 brand of Mummy's formula milk powder sample from my gynae...tat is Similac & anmum. I hav started drinking Enfamum 2 weeks ago. after try tis 3 different brand, found tat Similac mum is realy very sweet wor,not really like the taste. Anmum is more suitable for me.

i forget to ask my gynae for sample. do u have any extra sample that i could try? i try search online for milk sample... but couldnt find it. try to look at pharmacy, watson, ntuc, guardian to see if they selling sample but don have [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif] i wish to start drinkin maternal milk before i sleep because im easily get hungry...

my soya milk brand is BioGreen Pink Lady. not bad taste and very nutritious because contains alot of beans. Bought from kl, selling at RM59.90. not sure if SG sells too.

haha im afraid i make u misunderstood. It's actually the same screen as what the gynae see on his screen from the machine. So you can see from the moment, the probe insert in and showing ur womb and bb. my gynae just have a extra screen hanging on top so that for those preggie mummy lying on the bed, can see easily... Vscan normally done for those 12weeks and lesser i think so that's more detailed... my vscan only $20 i think if im not wrong...

 
hi pray&love, not sure if the one i did is the same.

it s a transparent equipment.. my gyne only does it when i hv spotting and after he pull out can see if still have traces of blood. i cant see on screen though. gyne dunt seems hv a screen for that , he look thro from beneath with a bright light.

vscan and abdominal scan is an ultrasound scan actually. just that early weeks, gynae normally will use vsacn to detect bb and bb heartbeat. then later weeks, they will scan thru abdominal. the equipment use not transparent for me. have you done any ultrasound? i believe u did aredi right?

 
yep i did the u/s.

think the one i did is not called v scan. becos the gyne will do the usual one and bb is fine and then follow by the transparent one .. well mayb i can ck w him when i over on wednesday[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

oh ya, u can check w yr gyne and see if u are fit to travel on the 8-9 weeks, think diff gyne diff views. my friend gyne ok her to travel but that was 10-11 week for her

Minidiary, I think if you take it easy during the trip should be ok. Like I said, keep having small stops to rest and don't walk the entire day.
