hi all, my MS starting to set in and i just feel lousy in the evenings from dinner time onwards. same as first pregnancy.



just wanna ask for advice, for mothers have no. 2, what is your sleeping arrangement? currently my no. 1 sleeps on the floor on a mattress that comes with a foam border...

 
Hi mummies, do you all believe in that Chinese gender chart? Is it accurate?



I am gg for my Oscar test in 2 weeks time, so scared.

my test also in 2 wk time dun worry so much :p hmm i use the chinese gender chart when i had #1 not accurate for me so i tink dun believe it too much after all it only 50-50 guessin i can also predict :p

dun tink so much the test is not 100% accurate also.. it based on our blood test, NT scan n our age to calculate the percentage. only tell u the chances of gettin even thou the test say high risk ur bb can be norm n low risk does not mean ur bb 100% wun get DS so stay positive dun worry k[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

 
Mrs. Chua, *5*!!! I have been eating like a pig week ago... And never put on weigh at all, feel crazy... But I am abit worry as my mum side has thyroid history, might go for blood test for assurance... Now on the way to see gynae! Back later to work still....

Thanks for the welcome DZ! Do you find that your first one is more sticky? Many say that this is a good age to reason out with them and tell them about the baby but so far, mine is super sticky to me.



My MS is just as bad. been on MC for a while.. not good cause I'm new at my job but guess this baby is more important than anything else.

I know this sounds like a silly question. But can i ask what are nursing bras for? Are they just bigger sized maternity bras?

 
sookie , haha I am new to my job too , so a bit stress to go on MC ! yah you are right mine is super sticky , my mum says she will look depress when we didnt go back my mum place for dinner for a day and she din get to see us ... I hear already very 'heartache ' . I dont know how to break the news to her , I don think she will be receptive in the beginning , will see how as my tummy grows bigger .

 
piggy , I have not reach my confirmation yet but I am mentally prepared if they do not want to confirm me althu technically that is discrimination . But this is asia country , what can I expect . It all depends on the boss I guess .

nursing bra is basically bra we wear during breastfeeding.. N usu wireless becos wire may press on my breast n block milk duct so not encourage to wear wired bra.. N the design of nursing bra is easier for u to latch ur BB..

i only gotten my confirmation last fri quite surprise also i thot they will extend my probation.. but somehow i wish they dun confirm me leh... not v happy workin here.. n my HB maybe goin US for 5 mths... if they dun confirm at least i got a valid reason for not workin hahah lazy me.. now they confirm if my HB really go US i am stuck.. dunno how to handle a toddle n a baby.. last time my HB not ard at least no baby only a big tum tum..

 
i'm also in undecided on which package to take for the DS testing ...



i was thinking for going only for the scan which is 80% accurate (295.32 for twins) the one with blood test is 90% accurate (487.92 for twins)



the rest of u chose which one ?

I thot usu both? Oscar test is referring to blood test n NT scan den base on our age etc to work out the statistic wor so far haven heard of jus do 1 type or u referring to the triple blood test?

Yah piggy , me also have this evil tots that they work confirm me :p but I am having twins , next time expense will be huge , better work while I can ..

Totally understand your fear about probation. Cause i fear it to..the fact that i will have loss of income but i always remember what's important to me though with this MS, i wonder how I am going to make it through.



Remember, Money can always be earned back and the Singapore laws do protect pregnant women. It also depends on what's in your contract too. Don't worry. just focus on growing your baby and remember money can always be earned back.



piggytoh: why can;t you still quit and join your hubby in US? Since you are not happy where you are?

 
sookie , yah you are right , money can always earn back ... I will jsut do minimum for now as long I am feeling fine .



for piggy , she can still join her hubby now her tummy not obvious , will they not let her come back ( as in board the plane ) after 5 months ?



Piggy , maybe can give birth in US ?? wah .. gree passport right away for your kid ?

 
Piggy - I'm with kkh & they mention abt the 1st trimester screening (screening for down syndrome = DS)



so i have to decide which one i want to take .. its not complusory its up to the couple which package they want ...

not so soon n my HB US trip not confirm by the time confirm i maybe in my 6-7mth alr.. n i would have to gave up my 16wk ML wor.. n most imptly my HB go ther for trainin so spouse no allowance 1 everything own pocket so if gave birth ther we gotta pay ourself n i prefer to deliver in sg wor...

hmm my friend with KKH also i tink she got NT scan n blood test also wor.. not very sure wat package they have other hosp is std Oscar test which consist blood test n NT scan... i will do at my gynae clinic...

Mrs Chua: I also same as u, kept eating. Heehee! Kept munching chocolates. Jia lat! Keep eating junk food. Sooner or later all my clothes cannot wear anymore.

 
yes, the doctor will tell you which test to take when the time comes. Ultimately it depends on the parents if they want to take it or not.



I will be taking the Oscar test in 2 weeks time. I have friends who decided not to take it and take what god/nature has given them. I will be taking it as I am not young anymore plus, it will prepare me if anything is not right. As what others have mentioned before, its a risk assessment. Only the CVS or Amnio will be very accurate. If cost is not a big issue, I think taking a test that has 90% results (OSCAR) would be more meaningful.

 
dz, Oscar test is just taking your blood and doing a scan (slightly more detailed than your normal check ups) cause they need to measure the nuchal thickness (liquid behind your baby's neck). Its safe so don't worry.

 
are u guy's nails growing fast ?? i like to keep my nails short .. but its like growing quite fast ...



I also don't know if i should chop off my mid-back length hair ...

usu spotting maybe spot for few day but since ur brown colour it ok dun worry rest more it will stop:p

Oscar test is blood test + NT scan only nothing invasive NT scan is like norm scan to see the thickness of bb neck etc...

i din cut my hair short durin #1 becos i find v irritatin durin confinement if short hair hot but can tied yet touchin shoulder so depend on ur preference...

 
Hi JJ .. ya me working still , when did your discharge start ? mine lasted for exactly a week before it stablise ... now seems better ... hopefully continues til I see doctor this weekend for my 8 week scan . tonight I am going for my 3rd jab to stablise it further.



hippo , yah thinking , my #1 got store but tot more going for the show but if its showing delivery process.. maybe I wont go since I need to bring my #1

 
my 1st time happened on the 3sep, had a jab then by 6sep no more coloured discharge.



then surprise on 7sep got 1 big patch dark brown discharge in the morning before going to my 1st scan ... so had a jab (the oil jab) suppose to last 1 week... from 7sep till now still got coloured discharge but lesser each day la ...



I'm seeing doc only on my 8th week ~ 21 sep ...

 
JJ , didnt doctor give you bedrest .. think maybe better not to walk around to much . resting helps a lot .. aside washroom and lunch I don walk much at work .. cos I new , cannot take mc for long

 
Ladies, jus to share the findings from the research i done on cordblood for me i donate it to cord blood bank..



basically the cord blood can only be use on sibling because if ur bb got the diease or cancer tt mean he/her blood no gd so cannot use back own cordblood. Also, if ur child only got the illness at an older age the blood cell in cord blood is insufficient to save his/her live.



the reason y i donate is because at any time if i wan to use it i can call them and i only need to pay few Ks to rtn back to me (provided it still available) and usu chances that ur child cord blood matches another patient and being used up is low.



maybe you can look ard and check out be4 u decide to store in pte bank or donate.

hee the jab v painful rite? my gynae say usu if got spottin or they find ur preg unstable they will suggest 2 jab per wk till 8wk wor.. but again depend on gynae practise..

 
piggy - ya the oil jab is painful & stinging ... i did it on my thigh, i know some pple does it on the butt.

i will go back for jab it the discharge colour gets darker ... cos the oil jab suppose to last longer in the body ....

ya most pp did it on the butt cos v painful so far only come across 1 person had it on the thigh n she told me it took her a while to walk properly.. i had on the butt alr got blue black lo..
