matched gal, no need to worry. Recent report says that starting solids at 6 mths does not reduce the allergy rate so now PDs are going back to the old rule that babies can start solids from 4-6mths or whenever they are ready.

 


My hubby very keen on starting Eden on solids...



I'm half hearted... lol...



That time someone say can get cheaper Avent Steamer and Blender.. How much cheaper huh? Who also? anyone know?

My bb juz reached 4 mths leh, hehe... But i remember when #1 started, she lost weight... Xianz... #1 i remember i started fairly early, cos she totally lost interest in drinking milk!! Later on, i realized, she enjoyed eating more than drinking, lol...

Shd start with plain rice cereal first? Later then steam n blend... Hehe... But maybe u lookout for the gd offer first... For me, i juz use the kitchen steamer n mash with fork, hehe...



M still trying to remember which feed i replaced the first cereal meal with... Is it the "lunchtime" one? Any mummies with #2 can remember?

I only remember not the first feed or the last feed. After wake up better, less cranky....thats all i remember...n wat did i gave my #1? forgot..i think rice cereal ley



Last 2 weeks we ate desserts n gave some dab of mango pomelo to her lips she so excited n kept staring at the bowl after that! I think ready liao

So far she seems quite happy with her pacifier and teats, but it does make sense that I should prolly make it easier for her and change as recommended. Was initially reluctant to change to faster flow teat cos some part of me is still hoping to latch her, but my flow v slow lo. Shall not be selfish mommy anymore haha.



SN: I'm also pumping 5x now, sometimes 4x if I go out. Think I'll cut to 4x soon in preparation of going back to work. And agreed the free up time is a good trade off! Actually I still do handexpress to fully drain my breasts after pumping 30mins, my ss some days a bit more some days a bit less, but on average should be about the same never really drop. Think your 50ml drop could be never drain totally per pump as what Zenia suggested ba...

 
Audrey, haha some part of u still hoping to latch her huh? Yea me too but this part of me is slowly decreasing n decreasing le... I havent latch for a month liao. U?

 
Matched gal, the other day u said ur gal not ready for 3m teat? Im thinking whether it's time to change since every feeding is starting to be a struggle again... He's ibviously hungry but refuse to drink after 2 sucks...

eh, i changed quite early liao, when she started the head-turning game with me at close to 2 mth datime, and jaster suggested to change, hehe...

you try change and c... if he choke while drinking, then u take out a while and burp first then continue.. i persevered for about 3 days then she got used to it, hehe...

hey, u mean 2nd time change teat or first time huh? now that i read ur message again, duno which one u mean... i changed from S size to Y size pigeon teat... 2 wks ago i tried the L size on her, but she like v xinku, at last i changed back again, hahaha...

 
Matched gal, haha i meant second change of teat. I also changed once ard 2.5 mths old.... I think gotta change again soon to size 3m+. now he's starting his head turning, leg kicking game w me again haha

Btw, seems like the swing only takes max 10kg... Now her weight vs the momentum like not much effect liaoz... I hv to resort to swaying her playpen to imitate the swing movement, hahahaha...

matched gal, hhahahah funny leh you.... eh my swing still swinging at full speed despite it being on the lowest level leh.... now bb's weight around 7kg plus.... max weight for swing is 9kg...hahaha....



Joc, can lar.... i always store my ebm in the avent bottles so i can just heat up and feed.... only if the bottles all used up then i store in the avent via cups.

any febm fr one day. Tts it, the next day I start the whole

starving n crying n wailing n pushing cycle again.. But nw

he's ok alrdy.. Everyday he will drink febm.. Except fr the last

n first feed. But sometimes he will still leave like 20ml outta

160ml.



Pauline: the pacifier depends on yr kids la.. But for me, I

change pacifiers every 2-3 months. For Hygiene n size sake.

Haha..



SN, I think u shud change the teats if bb doesn't want to suck it might b cos it's too slow for him.. Try n see how .. =)

wa, i remember saying my gal slept through the night last wk. then friday she started to choot new pattern again. wake up at 3am everyday for milk now @@ is this growth spurt? i try to give her more milk during her last feed hoping to prolong her fr waking up but failed cos she only drank the normal quantity she always drinks >.< hope this 'routine' doesnt last long...



abt changing teat, have been trying to change my gal's teat cos she's like >4.5mths alr... and i also see that she need to suck very hard for milk nowadays. but in the morning change teat she still accept and at night when she wake up for milk i try to give her the new teat she become pek chek cos keep on gasping for air, so no choice gotta change back to the old one. shall train her in the day first then change totally to the new teat :S

Bcoz... I realised my baby got similar patterns!!



He is sleeping longer at night now, but I latch at night so I dun noe hw much he drinks.

I follow Angelina's pattern, latch and latch and latch and latch until he sick and tired of my breast, between 5pm to sleeping time.



But a new problem is surfacing, I pat pat him in my arms then out him into bed after he ko-ed.

The thing is, he only wants me now.

Yestnite Hubby tried to pat pat him, baby cry the house upside down.

For 30mins I think.

Cry cry tired rest awhile look right look left then scream again.

I realised cry too much le after about 30mins so I took him back into my arms.

He look so damned pitiful loh, make me wana cry with him.

Then he ko-ed in my arms less than 10mins.



Hubby thinks its the smell leh.

Cham liao.

But no choice leh, no point I train my no.1 coz after I put him with my inlaw or my parent, they will still carry carry him de.

SN, same like Aud when I pump I still chit chat with baby leh, or I get the Papa to play with him.



Coz most of his other time, I am the one playing with him.



And like Airmez, I am happy with others wants to spend time with baby.

My inlaw, my parent, my siblings.

While they're at it, I go shopping online! Haha..

Or I join them play with baby loh.

I hope by doing so, baby is ok with anyone and not just me alone.

Else I be very tired. Heh..



And am happy baby bring so much laughter to them =)

i just have to train him so that it will be easier for me to take care mah...

no choice for me...but sometimes i do hug him or carry him la...

but i definitely dont hug him to sleep...

he has to soothe himself to sleep

but this boy is really very chin cai now...despite not latching him for one week, i tried on sat, he still remember leh...can latch to sleep...hmmm...

weekends latching for me...



but now he is a drool king...drools alot alot leh

so u are the main caretaker lah. Initially, I thought your mum is the main caretaker. I think maybe your boy is just going thru a phase (** refuse to sleep phase :p). Old pple like that, like to shake very hard one. My MIL also the same. Read your newer post, seems like your boy like resort. :p

freesiajen, errr i secretly hope baby wont prefer resort to his home! recently i try my mom's method of putting him to sleep...upright first...soothe him until calm down liao then change to cradle carry...he seems ok with this method...only whine a bit....never cry.... seems like he is ok with most people carrying him...at resort...even if he sees his grandma, grandaunt, uncle etc..only once a week, he doesnt cry when they carry him..
