went for chkup last fri.



dr told me to be on stand by mode.



and said to go to the hospital st if labour also she commented that i wont have a full term bb again [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

 
Rabbit: Congratulation!!



My gynae just came to see me. Last night was still 2cm when checked by nurse. This morning, gynae say i dilated to 3cm. But my CTG scan this morning shows less contraction and further apart. He gave me 3 options.



Option 1) To go home & come back hospital again when my contraction is more frequent like 10 to 15mins apart or if my waterbag break.



Option 2) To stay in hospital & monitor.



Option 3) To break waterbag now.



I chose option 1 cos hopefully can last for a few more days to 36wks which my gynae is more comfortable with. He is also taking me off Ventolin to let contraction run more naturally.



He think that i might be back to hospital again this week for the real thing. I will be seeing him again at his clinic this thursday.

anyway, now frantically trying to settle everything.

are you dilated oredi? or Dr Chia was estimating that becos of your #1? yeah, dun be sad, as long as both you and baby are doing fine

she did a ve for me.she didnt say n i forgotten to ask too.



anyway she did the strep b for me then find that cervix is soft n lotsa discharge and knowing i gave birth early for #1 she did a VE. She said she can feel the tip of the bb head liao....

wash some first lah... the rest when u r in hospital can get hubby or helper to do... dun panick... deliver ur bb first... me too, bb cot din get ready, clothes not washed and room not cleaned! but worse come to worse, just go with it and when bb gets hm, decide what to do again!

but hb will be super bz cos still gotta take care of #1.

ur edd v close to mine. am thinking of pushing my bb out at 37wks since am dilating and probably if i induce, it will be yet another 4-8hrs labour which i can tahan... also, i can choose the date i want my #2 rto be born... keke

 
rabbit: wow congrats! post pics when u can! Natural without epi, gotta salute. I hope I can do it too!!



Ann: Good decision Ann, i wouldn't want to force baby out by breaking the waterbag since not even 36 weeks. Go home rest if contractions come back again in 5 mins interval .. it means baby is ready to come out on his own!



vivi: dont worry too much, get ur hubby to prepare everything for u. now all u need to concentrate on is yourself and baby!



I myself just packed my hospital bag yesterday (so last min). Don really know wat to pack so just throw anything i feel might b useful in. im 37 weeks today so on standby mode too although i have a feeling it won't be so soon lah. Today have visit with gynae to check dilation as well as do strep b test.... can't wait to see how bb is doing :]

dun be sad. look on the bright side - now that cervix is soft, most likely labour will be short?



i'm now hoping my baby will come out once i reach wk 37 coz she's big and i want to go for natural. but then, it's not up to me to control lor. just go with the flow



yeah, like jelly said, just wash some 1st - the absolutely necessary ones. then just take one day at a time

 
vivi: woah... Seems like u are in the same situation as i am. But can touch BB's head means u must be quite dilated le. How come u 36wks on wed and i 36wks on thurs when your edd is later than mine? Haha!!



The nurse told me that she thinks i will come back very soon so deposit which i paid last night need not refund. Just use it for next visit.We paid abt $3k deposit last night.

and i hope #2 will be much shorter.



my friend just deliver her son weighing 3.5kg naturally last week

my hubby also. hv 2 settle my #1 who is like superglue to me these days. i hardly had time to rest at all. it's "mama" this and "mama" that... but i better enjoy these times w her cos when #2 pops, i think she will feel fairly neglected...

my #1 does not behave exceptionally as he always been a glue to me. he only calls for daddy when i dun let him eat junk food and watch tv and when brushing teeth cos he said i very rough [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

my ger only runs to my mom for anything she wants to get her hands on which i do not allow. my hubby and i agree on the same stuff most of the time so my get knows that only her grandparents will gove in to her...



but now, i fee v "xin ku"... this morning she pooped and only wanted me to clean her up. so many days le... and i am feeling tired sqautting down and getting up cos am so big now... sigh and yes, she dun want my hubby which she was okie with when it comes to cleaning up...

cos my boy will poo at the toilet bowl and i will use the shower head to clean for him. i just need to bend. no need to squat.

ann, so you're decided to be discharged today? i guess resting at home is still so much better right?



ica, i had a small pack of instant noodle for breakfast yesterday, my blood sugar shot up to 7.9! highest since i started checking my blood sugar. sucks, was hoping that my gd was borderline, but seems like it's quite bad leh.

cannot have instant noodles ahh. i also had it once and my sugar level also shot up, to 7.4. it's becos it's all carbo. if you want, max 3 strands of the noodles should be ok. hahaha! and provided you move a bit after eating it. just control lor and cut out as much carbo as you can. dun worry too much now that we're almost there

Your boy is already toilet trained? So good. My toddler regressed and now doesn't want to poo on the toilet bowl. Luckily my MIL is ard to help me. Can imagine the diaper changing exercise when #2 comes along...

 
ica, i thought instant noodle same as pasta. when i have pasta for dinner, only 5.4 max. sigh ... dunno why suddenly craving for instant noodle. i've been sooo good all these months. now i know.

yes. but my boy already 4 yrs old . my mum trained him before he turn 2 yrs old.



now that my #2 will be in infant care, i hope the infant care will trained him asap.

no leh. instant noodles are refined carbo, like white bread. pasta is complex carbo but the starchy kind. that's why the difference lor. hmmm...i also feel like having pasta. hehehe

I have a question.. I'm getting BH often (say thrice/hr) but no pain jus tummy gets tightened.. i have this for the past 3 weeks.. Now i'm in my 34th week.. Do i need to check with my doc for 'Ventolin' prescritpion?

Re: toilet training

My boy only started recently (he's 2 yr and 9 mths). It’s a breeze when they are ready. Unless you have help that is willing to go thru the drill of clean up, etc, etc , there is not much harm to start when they are ready. There was hardly any "misses" (so we don't siong on the clean up). it just came naturally when we started.



So when on maternity, I think resting is more impt than toilet training our #1 :p

I see... Good for you. Toilet training for boys really a nightmare...



This morning 5 am I got up due to gastric pain... so acute that I thought I might be in labour! Well, that springs me into action. In the midst of packing hospital bag now.... going to call up cordlife to sign up for #2... anyway, HB away on a 3-day camp... but I also got my sis to standby in case I need transport to hospital... Actually wonder if I could still drive myself to hospital if contractions kick in hee hee..



Today is the start of wk 37 for me... mixed feeling.. on one hand wish that BB will be full term (40wk) BB like #1... on the other hand, can't wait to be rid of this bump coz it is sooooo inconvenient.



Anyway, instead of idling at home, I've been taking #1 out on playdates.. This Wed probably will catch a morning movie with him and friends and then late afternoon swim and then dinner with my gal friends! Haha, really want to play all I can b4 confinement!!!

wow! you're still so active - swimming some more. every day now when i get home, i just don't feel like going out, not even on weekends unless to get groceries. i also have the same feeling - my tummy's getting in the way and so heavy. hahaha



but my mom has been forcing me to go on walks now, so that labour will be short and easy. when she had me, she walked a lot, from mth 7, so her labour was 3 hours. when she had my sister (#2), she din walk as much, and her labour was almost 12 hours

 


Can I ask mummies with #2 - #3 kids on breast feeding.



Say when you are breastfeeding or pumping, are you going to "cover up" so that # 1 will not see mummy is half nakedness especially during pumping?



I guess if #1 is a girl , it's fine. But what if #1 is boy ? Not sure whether is it advisable.



What do you think?
