(2010/07) July 2010 MTB

peanut, ya, thinking of popping by gynae's clinic later. my office is at orchard road, gynae at mt. e, just a short walk away. but now i feel ok. so confusing.

Jellypurin,

Thanks for the encouragement!

yenz,

I've been trying exercises recommended my mummies in this thread and my gynae since week 33 but it seems that BB is too comfortable in her current position to move. My gynae told me to drink copious amounts of water to increase amniotic fluid level so I'm currently doing this as a last resort. Anyway, I wish you all the best, hopefully your BB turns before full-term.

jellypurin: As for main course hor, we ordered Fried Kway Tiao, nasi goreng and hor fan. I havent eat hawker food for very long so if u ask me.. all are nice leh! heehee Then I saw most angmos ate fish & chips.. also looked very yummy!

babycoco n ica : thanx for reassurance! Think i'm destined to ve a small baby.. as long as she is healthy I'll be contended liao! Hopefully I can nurse her coz I opting for GA!!

minmin : Oh the durian buffet is at Goodwood park hotel!! limited period of time only..quick check it out [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

JAclyn : I "luckier" than u.. my bday is juz nice after my confinement!! hehehe i can eat awfully choc cake!! yipee

am finally at week 37. now counting down. i'm feeling more pressure at my pelvic area - like really heavy. not sure if that means bb is preparing to "come out". right now i don't mind if she comes out in june/jul. i'm very excited to see bb already. and this pelvic pressure is seriously uncomfortable. i can't stand for long.

husband is wondering if i should take maternity leave beginning next week. any mummies know the procedure for taking earlier ML?

Babycoco: Ya lo.. tummy just felt weird today. Hai... Sometime I so scared my waterbag will break.. now my hospital bag all packed and loaded into my hubby's car.

Wanted to call Mac delivery for lunch today but the order for my area is too overwhelming liao so cannot take in any orders Hai...

Called KFC instead. Ordered quite abit of things but doubt I will finish them. Haha!!

Cherry.sue

You are entitle to take maternity leave 4 weeks before ur EDD date...

Juz let ur HR know when you wan to start ur maternity leave and fill in form if they request for recording purpose.. that how my co work..

btw hor.. anyone of you have gone thru a C-section? Can i check with you ..by the time we wake up.. is our tumtum wrapped in the abdominal binder already? I think of the pain from the wound... my hair stands..

Hi Atomickitten,

no, by the time u u wake up after a c section, the incision will only have a plaster on it, no abdominal binder. But most gynae will recommend you to buy a binder to put on after you can get down from bed to reduce pain while uterus is contracting. The pain will be bearable when you take the painkillers prescribed to you. But of course it is definitely painful when getting up and down from bed or walking for the first few days.

Hi afternoon mummies,

Had ur lunch already?

ann: i got exactly the same feeling as u, sharp pain speared thru my pubic bone.. had to go back to the previous position to rest for a moment. Pubic bone is getting more and more painful these days making me difficult to walk too.

Everyday I also have contraction and was prescribed with ventolin to reduce contractions as i am only in my wk 35 this week. Doc ask me to tahan till at least 36 wks.

Now everyday talking to bb.. telling him to tahan..

Nowadays dun have much energy to do things. i only manage to wash the bigger stuff and packed my hospital bag. bb stuff not wash yet. thinking of washing tonight. Sigh...

afternoon mummies

Just wanna check if I do hv quite regular BH but doesn't want to take Ventolin (tho doc did prescribed), is it ok?

May: Oh.. so u are about the same as me.. my gynae also wan me to tahan till 36 weeks but best if 37 weeks.

Junie: Regular BH? BH is not regular.. only contractions is.. better to take the Ventolin if prescribed.

junie

it's a risk. contractions can cause early labour. idea of taking ventolin is to relax ur muscles... so that your contractions will not oush bb further donwn into birth canal... but of course if you want bb to come earlier, u can take a risk and dun take...

I think not ok if doc prescribed as you may go into early labour with the contractions. Bb not ready to be out yet (even if weight is) as the lungs and other vital organs not fully developed yet till 36-37 wks. So not advisable to take the risk ….

Oh what I meant by 'regular' BH is every other day also seems to hv. And sometimes one day can hv BH a few times (tho timing is not regular if u know what I mean).

I thought I remembered my gynae said if I find BH unbearable then take Ventolin....so I thought it's optional to take...so never take le.

any MTBs have contigency plan should your waterbag break at work? like who to call while waiting for husband to arrive? i mean, should we even wait for husband to come pick us up or do we go there straight?

cherrysue - hubby and i decided that i'll take a cab straight to hospital if i'm alone / in office. he will get the car and join me there. but that's because he doesnt drive to work so must go home to get the car + bag. i don't wanna panic while waiting for him to come fetch me!

cheery

waterbag burst u still have time to travel to hospital so can call hubby. in fact, in the west, mommies tend to wait until they are in mid-labour where their contractions are abt 10-15mins apart...

mommies

JTS: pls chk out your hospital's entrances after operational hours. some hospitals only have 1 entrance open and is most like emergency. also, chk the fastest route to hospital if you stay a distance away... speaking of which, think tonite i need to pack my hospital bag... kaka

Jelly>> Okies! Tks. Tmrw seeing my gynae. Dunno how much BB has grown [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

cherry.sue

i remember during the Doctor's Talk by TMC, if waterbag burst and not accompanied by bloody discharge, can still take a bath, wash your hair, then only go hospital

Cherrysue: according to my gynae, we should always have a “standby kit” in our bag inclusive of extra clothes, maternity pads, disposable undies and bed pads.

He said if our waterbag burst outside, surely the 1st thing we wanna do is to get changed.

And if u taking hubby’s car or cab, u need to put the disposable bed pad to prevent leakage on the car seat.

Seems like a lot of stuff but till now I also never prepare any, haha.

My gynae told us not to wait for husband if ur waterbag burst. Go to the hospital straight.

He shared with us a story where this woman had painful contractions but wanted to wait for hubby, end up by the time hubby took her to hosp, she delivered when she was being wheeled to the delivery suite!

Sometimes our hubby may not be able to leave work immediately..

imagine he might need to take some time to handover his work, drive in the jam, fetch you and risk having another jam on the way.. sure panic like mad.

i not yet put my bag in the car cos i was thinking if my water bag burst in office, i ll ask my hubby to drive me bek home (our office just opposite to each other),

then i wanna to have a nice shower, wash my hair 1st bfore admitted to hospital..

but do i still have time to do so?

Carol

depends - is this your #1? distance from office to home? traffic condition?

for 1st time mommies, dilation is 1cm every hour on average and you start pushing when you're about 10cm. but having said that, there are some 1st time mommies who dilate very fast

ica, ya, this is my 1st bb..distance not sure wor..from ayer rajah to thomson..if after office hour, should be quite jam i think..

haha,so scary, i not even plan to take leave in advance..hope bb cooperate with me, dun pop during office hour

junie, normally try other position see if relieve if cannot relieve then i take ventolin. my gynae ask me to take when necessary only.

Cherry: i agree with ica.. remember my gynae also tell me b4. if no bloody discharge and contraction still not very regular, can still hv a nice bath, wash hair b4 gg to hospital.

if got bloody discharge, then go hospital directly dun wait for hubby.

i thought water bag burst must prepare to go hosp le? if leaking maybe still got time.. if burst may result in cord prolapse if u delay too long isnt it...?

Just out Gynae check at week 37, BB now 2.5 to 2.7kg, he says good size and my BB still has not engaged

Carol

me also 1st time mommy and i'm not starting ML early. i also dunno whether i'll be calm enough if my waterbag breaks at work. hahaha! maybe i'll just keep some old towels at my cubicle so if it really happens, then i can lay the towels on the car seat in the taxi

i thought last time in mrs wong class she mentioned after water bag burst still got time for shower n wash hair?

or i heard wrongly?

btw, only when we see bloody discharge, leg bcome swallow, stomach looks "down" then only mean we ready for labour?

hehe, think to go bek msia cos this week is father's day but its' my 37++ weeks pregnancy alr..

carol

i advise u dun go bk msia... i know it's father's day... i am going to give my MIL's bday a miss as well bcos i would be in my 36weeks and am also slowly dilating so, am not taking chances... it's probably worse than hvg my waterbag broken or go into laboutr in m'sia than in SG

Carol

yes, if waterbag burst, still can shower, wash hair, then only go hospital. but if it's accompanied by bloody discharge or the colour of the water is greenish (means baby has passed out meconium), must go immediately to hospital

Carol

yeah, this weekend, hubby's grandma having her b'day celebration but we're not going back. i'm 35wk ++ this weekend

Jelly - d day is on 5th! - I'm more worried that BB will be eager to come out! Gynae said should not be...

but til now i dun have any symptom for delivery wor..

leg not yet swallow, my sis n mum said my stomach still very up wor..

so sad to miss out father's day [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Carol

never mind la. the next time you balik kampung, it'll be a bigger celebration, and this time with baby! what better gift than a grandchild?

eliss

hee, then dun worry. gynae gave u his professional opinion...

carol

i know how u feel... but ultimately the choice is urs. how about inviting your dad to SG instead?

ica, you are right also, there is nothing better than give them a healthy grandchild hoh..

jelly, called my dad during lunch time just now, but he said they ll come after i delivered wor..

nvm, think +vely, nxt year celebrate with my bb together even merrier hoh [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

atomickitten: dun worry your gynae usually will ask you to bring along a binder or buy from his clinic and he will bind you up the minute he finishes stitching for your c section. The binder is very impt to me as it helps prevent the saggy skin/tummy from touching my wound and tighten the tummy. Also helps to support you to walk so its not so painful. Check with your gynae re the binder.

My colleague actually had her waterbag burst in the office and what she did was standby a towel as she took cab from the office to hospital (short distance) and called her hubby to bring the hospital bag from home to hospital directly instead. No need to wait for hubby to come and fetch la

Eliss,

hey, my c section delivery will be on 5th Jul! Our bbs may be born on the same day. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] Which hosp u are with? I am with Mt A. I am gg to be in 35 weeks tmr, bb was abt 2.5kg last week.

Today i went to Gynea, she refused to tell me BB how many kilo, only say on the bigger side.

Asked me to list down the food meals i had eaten past few days and she says to me Keep it up, dont diet cause it will do harm for you and the baby.

She said pregnancy must be enjoy so dont worry too much about the BB weight. Scanning not 100% correct bb can be smaller or slightly bigger. The more we conrol the more bb growing bigger and now wit advence technology if deliver natural is impossible, c section is another option..

She request for me to go for Urgent Fetal Weight Check, Placenta positoning and Water Bag Level check up on 2nd July 2010, after that than bring the report to her for analysis. Than she will discuss with me the options i have. By the time i am 37 weeks liao.

If there is any constant pain within these 2 weeks just check it to Delivery Suite.

I was like huh? She sooo relax, i am so stress here. My legs are swell, BH always attack night time. When told her the BH matter, she says just take a pain killer.

Gosh! Hubby really not happy as he said my gynae is toooo relax and dont even access me proper way. Only check BB heart beat and BB position.

Bb head down. The back facing my tummy and baby position more to the left.

Hi all ur BH is painful or just tummy tightening? Cos recently I've been experiencing my tummy tightening, become v hard, n when I stand up to walk it slowly relaxes, but it's not painful, my gyane says it's BH.

Ya my gyane also v relax one, I just leave it to him since he's suppose to b e expert in this area. He only instruct me to record down no. Of bb's movemen everyday.
