Thanks babycoco, minibean and atomickitten.. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] i hope i can sleep well tonite lor.. machiam like i am getting married tml.. keke...

Hello Mummies,

I came back from JB yesterday. Did some really last minute shopping and was praying that I wont pop in JB - hahahaha. All went well.

Today going for gynae appt... I wonder what is waiting for me???

Husby has left for Guangzhou this morning and will be back on Monday. He is so anxious and so am I. He spent 5 to 10 mins last night dictating to my overgrown tummy (with the baby inside hahahah) - "please dont come out till I come back"... "I really wanna be here when your mother pops"... "If not your mother wont forgive me"... Haiz... my Husby is what I call the "Mama Drama". After his dialogue, my little gal made huge somersaults. Though it was uncomfortable... I was contended coz it shows she really responds to my husby's voice.

Julianna - congrats on your baby's arrival.

Babycoco - the slogan from now onwards for us all is to keep all kinds of negative vibes/energy far far away from us. We just have to keep imagining those beautiful little persons who are due to arrive in our lives in the coming weeks. That should keep these negatives at bay or better still - consider they never existed [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Jaclyn (Ardente)and Pris - no jam on my way to JB. Was quite relaxed. My grandma followed me coz we could get some post natal stuff (Indian stuff) for the baby and myself. As some of you may already know that my grandma is my CL and she will look after me after the baby arrives. It is so helpful having her around. She instructs my helper with the cooking and is in charge. My Grandma is 82 years old and is hard as steel. When I grow up, I wanna be like her hahahahhaha.

Jellypurin, I hope our heartburn will disappear soon. But good to watch our diet and avoid oily and chilli stuff (though I love my chillis *sob* *sob*).

All the best ladies.

Jaya

wow! your grandma is still so active! hats off to her [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

rabbit

all the best!

atomickitten

you have GD yet your baby is small size? better that way, than having a big baby, like mine. gynae said if i carry mine to full term, may be looking at one giant baby! sure no chance of doing natural birth oredi

were you the one who went on the durian buffet? see, also no effect on baby's weight. so dun worry too much about baby's weight, ok?

baby hiccups

it's baby's natural reflexes - baby's learning to breathe, so it's good [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

good morning ladies !TGIF

ica: Yes yes i'm the one who went for the durian buffet. Ya lor.. no effect on baby. She was growing very well in 2nd trim until 3rd trim she bascially almost refused to gain weight! Maybe coz by 3rd trim, my GD was detected n going under control ba. But hor by now , baby should be putting on 500g per week..mine only 100g.. pretty jiak lark leh. doc yesterday told me my bb should be 2.8kg coz last week was 2.3kg.turned up only 2.4 +... aiyo how not to worry leh.

rabbit - Hope u will have a smooth delivery.... Good Luck & all the best!

ica - But i heard from other that those who have water retention shouldn't walk too much... haha... i tried during BB fair & John Little sales.. my legs end up worst... so got to elevate for longer hours...

morn mommies

rabbit, jiayou!

ak

how was the durian buffet? am thinking of asking my hubby to bring me there as my "last meal"... craving for durians like no one's business...

jellypurin... the durian buffet is good!! very sweet for me tho coz I havent take sugary stuff for a while due to GB. You can choose to have the durian buffet alone or u can order main course which comes with the durian buffet [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

ak

main course, too? wow! anything good you reckon on the main course menu? keke... now i am thinking of lunch... i just had an unhealthy brekkie! PRATAS!

AK

haha! looks like your diet is working very well. good lah, then baby is healthy and lean. my niece was only 2.6kg at birth, so no worry ok? now she's so active and weight is normal. maybe you stop worrying so much and just let go, then baby's weight may rise. somehow our babies can feel and know what our worries are

in our last month, baby's average weight gain is about 225g per wk. 500g/wk is too much leh

keropi

seems like no right soluton for water retention. maybe like one mommy said - also depends on our diet

Atomic kitten, my baby didn't gain weight at all since gynae visit the week before. But gynae explained that baby's weight is based on measurements, n she showed us that the measurements may not be 100% accurate. She measured baby's head 3x n each time result is different. Really depends on position of baby also, if a bit sideways, then measurement not accurate. So she said not to worry. My baby's head measured at 39wks when I was 35wks preg. Last visit, measured at 38wks. So don't be too worried about baby's measuments.

Jelly

oh! how i miss prata. i told hubby oredi, once i delivered, to get me a choc cake from awfully chocolate. but then i found out we're not supposed to take chocs when breastfeeding due to the caffeine. so maybe will take one small slice lor. wah! i can't wait for that day to come. hehehe!

ica

jts: alcohol, caffeine may or may not be present in bm and may or may not cause problems to ur bub is he/she consumes bm, so, i guess u can still hv ur chocolate cake!

Good morning to all,

Just had my checkup yesterday and at 36 weeks 5 days, BB is still breeched. So most likely will be having C-sect when I hit 38 weeks, which is next week. Though unlikely, I'm still hoping for her to turn before my C-sect date......

Gd morn mummies…

Anyone experienced this? For the past 2 days I had thick discharge (will only happen once a day)..

It looks like normal whitish discharge but very thick and is brown. Like sort of mixed with brown blood or something.

I don’t think this is the mucous plug rite?

I’m going to see gynae and ask him tmr!

Jelly

really? yay! anyway, the choc cake is quite small, 3-4 people can finish the whole cake oredi. hehehe

sweetkiss

looks brownish, right the discharge? should be the muscus plug disintegrating... dun worry. r u v near to your edd?

ica

yes... but do watch out for spicy food, though, when you are bf, cos most bubs will react to the chilli!

vernie

ya, me too! i'm definitely getting their cake after delivery. also like a celebration for myself - din have a b'day cake this year. then for baby's full month, i'll get their cake again - just makan dinner with family, no big celebration. i call the shots! muahahaha!

jelly

thanks! will take note coz i've not been taking curry since i found out i have GD - can only smell and look when ppl tuck into curry laksa. so that means, if i continue BF for 6 mths, no spicy food at all lor

oh, i also read that we should avoid food/vege that gives us gas e.g cabbage coz may affect baby when BF - baby may be gassy/gets wind then have to face with one grumpy baby

Last evening I had menstrual like cramps at the lower abdomen. The lower back near the pelvis area also felt uncomfortable. This went on for about 20 to 30 mins. Is this BH? I am Week 37 & 3 days now.

Atomic kitten

Yap dont worry .. i think the weight is ok..

My bb weight gain is 500gm in 3 weeks ... hopefully he can maintain...

by my next visit = ard 2.4 - 2.5kg at wk 35

and finally weight = reach 3.2kg ard wk 39

chocolate: huh cant eat chocolate? I've been having chocolate thrughout my pregnancy (i totally love kitkat now donno y haha).

sweetkiss: that might be ur mucus plug wor... but it is not really a good sign of labour starting, it will still take some time. Better check with your gynae just in case!

jellypurin: durian buffet!! good idea! =D

Today i am going to gyu kaku for lunch and then catch toy story movie... must squeeze as much "hubby and me" time as possible since close to delivery already

birthday cake: since my birthday fall on the same day as my EDD, i asked my mom yesterday if i wont be able to enjoy my birthday cake since i most likely will be in confinement. Her reply was "ya u can't eat". Ohmygod i was so sad then later she said "just joking lah, cake only why can't eat". Phew!

ica

yup, some food cant eat while bf... even strawberries, i heard some bbs can react to it...

vernie

u r v near ur edd. do watch out for more regular intervals of contractions. looks like ur bb is engaged and is pushing the head thru.

Jellypurrin: Yup it is brownish but very thick. I dun get it throughout the day. It only comes once a day, so always scare me when i suddenly feel something very wet. I am 37 weeks now but my bb not engaged yet. Will i have dilation or water bag breaking even if bb not engaged? Can still have natural birth?

ica - yap I guess the systoms we all get really subject to individual body... I didn't take salty food, coffee, tea, caffeine but still kanna water retention....other than this I'm quite alright... crossing my fingers everything will go smooth even for delivery..

Jaclyn

wow so gd.. ur mum let u hv ur bday cake...

my mum will restrict me.. Dont say abt tasting the buffet and full mth cake on my bb shower... already got warn not to eat !!!

Which I already craving for it liao!!!

Morning Mummies!

Juliiana: Congrats! Another brave mummy who fought through w/o epidural. Really salute you big time! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Grace: Thanks for the detailed explanation. It is very much similar to my gynae’s explanation to me when I see her yesterday.

Fazzy: My gynae is also going away for a holiday, I also very worried, especially during my 37 week. We just have to pray hard that bb can stay in our tummy for a little longer.

Rabbit: Woh! You must be very excited. Since you have already decided, just go for it and you will find yourself carrying your lovely baby in no time. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Yesterday I went for my gynae appt, I am now exactly week 37 today! As I didn’t experience any contractions or discomfort, she didn’t do VE for me, in fear that it may trigger contractions. I will have my VE done in 38 weeks which is next Saturday when she is back from her trip. She also mentioned that it is not true that we should walk more during this period, moderate is the word.

I told my gynae that some of my friends are feeling contractions and are already 1-2 cm dilated in their 34 or 35 weeks. Now taking medicine to control the contractions. She said, not to worry and it depends on individual. But normally from 1-3 cm of dilation it can take a very long while. From 3cm onwards, the dilation should be 1cm per hour, that explain why first time mummies mostly waited for about 8 hours before they are fully dilated.

jellypurin: Yeah...maybe bb is heading downwards coz i felt more pressure nearer to the pelvis area these days and more urge to urine too...maybe he is engaged already...tomorrow will be my weekly checkup...let's see what gynae says...kan cheong ah...

yvonne: haha ya my mom's side more modern. My MIL's side more strict. But good thing is that my mom is in charge of my confinement. Yesterday I jokingly asked my grand mom (mom's mom) if Mcdonalds can eat.. btw shes 83 yrs old. She said mcdonalds can... eat the fish burger or chicken burger can. Wow whee so modern! I think if i tell my MIL i going to eat mcdonalds she will faint.

your bb's full mth cake and buffet shud be after ur confinement already ma...?

sweetkiss - my gynae told me during my last visit, bb not engaged doesn't mean u are not in labour... I'm also quite confused... but i think under this circumstances we may still encounter "water bag burst" & "show"... there's when induce come into picture....

Erm.. Can anyone enlighten me where is that famous durian buffet that floods our forum? LOL! I am also craving for it. Maybe I can go for it this evening!

Baby is only 2.5kg at week 37, 0 days. I think I eat more.. LOL!

sweetkiss

ur last chk is 2 weeks ago and bb not engaged? it may not be the same case since 2 weeks ago. good thing you are seeing ur gynae tmr. i think he will probably bring u good news that perhaps, bb is engaged and could be anytime! dun worry abt the discharge since u r seeing him already...

minmin

yup that would be true for first time MTBs. 2nd time mtbs, will take abt 4hrs, so half time...

minmin: i believe it is at goodwoodpark hotel! Yes eat as much as you want already lah! Left last few weeks before confinement where u will be totally restricted.

keropi: yes thts true, some ppl go into labour without baby being engaged. This means will need assisted delivery such as forceps / vacuum and worse case scenario is emergency c-sect

keropi, sweetkiss

i supposed if you're in labour and baby's not engaged, means a breeched baby

also, the direction which baby faces when we're in labour also plays an important role if you're going for natural - best is baby is head down and faces our back, then easier to come out

ica, if bb face down and faces our back, it means when gynae doing the ultra sound, we won't be able to see bb's face right? cos when gynae did ultra sound for me, she always show us bb's face.

Springleaf,

I am now in my 35 weeks, and as of Monday my baby was also breech. So I quickly start my prenatal yoga and swimming. I know it's kind of late, but better than never put any effort.

You could see the link below on the position you could have to turn breech baby, u go to the archive folder. I have started practising it on daily basis. Btw the website belong to my yoga's instructor [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

http://colleensimmonds.com/Yoga_with_Colleen/Articles_of_Interest/Archive.html

babycoco

hmmm...that's true. but then baby can be engaged now and faces out, and when delivery time comes, baby can move to face the back. wonders of mother nature [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif] i also never ask gynae which direction my baby faces

can check out this website for more info on baby position

http://www.naturalbirthandbabycare.com/baby-position.html

Keropi: huh really ah? i think tmr must clarify everything with my gynae...

jellypurin: my last checkup was 3 days ago only. Gynae said baby's head still high. As my gynae's going on leave next wk, so he brought forward my next week's appt to tmr..

ica: oh.. breeched baby = unengaged baby? i always tot breeched babies refers to babies with head still on top... hee..

oh ya also read before someone mentioned that when nearing labour, she seems to be able to poo smoothly? same for me! my constipation all gone and recently i am able to go toilet daily smoothly!

but i still hope my bb comes out in july......

Good morning ladies.

Last night when I woke up to go toilet to pee, I stood up from my bed and a sharp pain speared thru my pubic bone.. had to stop and stand to rest for a moment. My pubic bone is getting more and more painful these days. Wonder if the BB is fully engaged or not since last visit gynae say BB is about 50% engaged.

Then when I sleep on my side, BB is moving till so uncomfortably for me like totally no space to move le. Stomach was stretch till so painful and sometime pelvic bone also has sharp pain.

Everyday I also have contraction happening. I think without the Ventolin, I might have already went into labour le.

Rabbit: All the best. Have a smooth delivery.

SweetKiss: I think that might be your mucus plug slowly disintegrating le. I remember some mummy say BB sometime not engage till in labour.

Durian: Ah.. yesterday went chalet again, everyone is eating durian but I can only see. Dun dare to eat cos dun wan BB to grow much bigger. My granny say can take abit, my mum say cannot. Haha!!

Sweetkis

no lah, head still on top doesn't mean breeched until you go into labour. my SIL was a breeched baby but was delivered naturally. that was back in the 80s. think during those days, gynae more gungho

ica - No...I dun think that's what the gynae mean...cos when i ask him this question my bb is already down..

so I don't think breeched baby is = unengaged baby... breeched baby only mean that the bb head is still not down yet... however unengaged baby mean the bb head is not near to the cervix yet however the mummy may still feel contraction or experience "water bags burst" or "show"... in this case then the doc have not choice but to induce lor...

mummies, been feeling this "sour" pain on my lower abdomen, above the pubic bone. so worried i'll go into labour soon. was hoping to wait till 38wks. dunno why i have this feeling that bb wants to come out these few days. i'll only be 37wks tomorrow.

babycoco: I think even if BB come out now, it will be fine since u are at 37 wks le.

Today's contraction seems different to me.. Whenever my top muscle tighten, it actually feel a bit painful unlike those previous contractions, just feeling uncomfortable.

keropi

oic. i always thot a breeched baby is a baby whose buttocks or feet are presented first during the birth process

Jaclyn

Yap, I juz test water and sound like she restrict me... so maybe can eat but only fried rice or vegetable ba... she told me confinement is 40 days.. anyway will check again by then...

Goodwood park durian is famous.. Luckily mid autumn festival is in sept.. can buy durian mooncake and celebrate wif hubby and baby...

ann, ya me too. today tummy just feels weird, never felt like this before. but i just realised that if i stand up, the pain goes away. so now i'm working standing up, looks so weird. i think will work from home starting next monday. very strange to be typing away but standing up leh.

babycoco, i've also been having "sour" pains, esp at night. just feel very uncomfortable all over, plus lower back pain and uncomfortable in the chest. but i think it's just the extra tummy weight because in the mornings i'm usually ok again. better ask your gynae if everything's ok
