(2010/07) July 2010 MTB

Ica: i dunno. My frd say one.

MTBs: by the way if i buy the pump now and only use ard Aug or Sep will spoil or not ar? haha.. i think won't right?

over cny.. my frens who juz delivered were talking abt BF..and one gal said engorgment is as painful as her labour pain leh! i hear already i very scare!! Few months down the road..we have to keep encouraging one another to persevere!! Wondering who will "pop" first!! hehe

ceres: i dun think so coz i'm also thinking of buying now

i remember reading some earlier posts, some MTBs were asking why the need to buy bottles when we are set on breastfeeding. well, i read one pregnancy book and it says that by expressing milk into the bottles, then daddies and others e.g. your moms, dads, etc. can help to feed them and bond with babies. also by doing so i.e. when you feed you let baby latch onto you and when others feed, they do so using bottles, then baby can differentiate that when mummy feed, it's by way of latching vs bottle feed

Ica: yeah read before. it is also useful as training for baby before mother start to go back work. But i read before if someone else use bottle feed baby mother must leave the room cuz baby tend to find mother.. Makes me so happy.. haha. u know when baby bond to u more is like "yeah, baby love me more than all of u".

ceres: you so funny! oh, we must leave the room? is it becoz babies can sniff out breast milk? coz i remember one colleague who brought her baby to office to show every one and another colleague who is breastfeeding remarked that she better move away if not baby sure want to find her or rather, her breasts! hahahaha

oh, i was doing some research on the web on avent electrical pumps in the US. the product info says energy required is 110-240V. since spore uses 220V, does that mean if i buy from the US (which is soooo much cheaper), i can use it in spore, just need an adaptor? any MTBs can comment?

ica>> Yes you will need an adaptor to convert the current. But note that there is no warranty cover for products bought from US.

bbbliss: so no transformer needed? just an adaptor so i can plug into the socket? ya, i know no warranty but it's so much cheaper

yvonne: electric breast pump (double) about $800 and single about $300. do you know how much cheaper they can go to during GSS? in the US, can get them for at least 50% cheaper

bbbliss: if need transformer, i think i rather not cos using transformer on regular basis will spoil the motor. sigh...why so ex in spore leh?

Hi ica

I saw it selling at kiddy palace few weeks ago electric breast pump kit selling at 150.

i heard fr the sales girl it is bcos they going to discontinue this model soon.. tat y selling fr 300+ to 150.

this set can be as electric, batt and manual if i still remember...

maybe u wan to take a look..

ica>> Things in Singapore is not cheap. I like GAP and Old Navy clothes. But in Singapore, it's really expensive. I usually do my shopping online and ship from US. It is much much cheaper this way.

As for electronic items, better not, cos no warranty and voltage is different.

yvonne: thanks thanks! will check it out. hope still got. i remember a few weeks back some dept store also selling it at 1/2 price...so that was the reason la

bbbliss: ya, i agree. some baby stuff are very much cheaper in Msia too - disposal diapers, formula milk but surprisingly, avent products are cheaper in spore than msia!

Will call my boy Ian...

ecym, can help to update? Thanks. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

ica>> Agree. But not sure if the formula milk in Malaysia is the same quality as Singapore or not. If yes, will chiong to JB to buy.

my baby's name is Hannah.

but still calling her cub-cub or cubby. can't shake off this name, like a nickname. started when I din know the gender and wanted to speak to her. since baby's gonna be a tiger cub (born in year of tiger) - that was how the nickname came about

bbbliss>> ya same here. I ordered clothes from Gap & Old Navy before I am preggy. I wear their kids section clothings cuz their kids sizes suit me....hehee.

bbbliss: same quality e.g. the anmum materna that i'm taking now, if you notice, the back of the packaging is covered with a label coz on the original packaging, the instructions are mostly in malay coz as it is made in msia, imported into spore

bbbliss: not yet woh..my plan is to breastfeed for 6 mths, then only mix formula milk...oh, but have you heard of Snow brand? my cousin is feeding her daughter this brand of milk - the baby is very chubby woh...when i saw her, i felt like pinching her. hehe

Yvonne (guayni) ,

Can u check ur email...

Need u to fil up the form, and also advise wat payment u want??

Can u also reply me thru email ur mobile no. easy for me to msg everyone...

Talking abt formula milk... I am quite interested .. hope more mummies share their opinon

every bb is diff and if they can accept particular brand of milk anot is still a ??? my friend ask me to check on my bb stool...

and change accordingly...

ica>> I will try to breastfeed as long as I can. But scared no milk only. So need formula milk to standby. So many brands around also dunno which one is good.

Yvonne>> U done any research already? I heard about checking the stool. The stool will tell if the baby is suitable to drink that particular brand.

bbbliss: sure got milk...must have faith ya? the idea of not able to produce milk never crossed my mind before. but i read that in the 1st few days when supply is low, we may slip into post natal blues coz we may feel inadequate/useless. but no matter what, must persevere. so jia you ok? positive thoughts, positive thoughts...

mrslong: me no backache, but butt ache! haha..must be the office chair - not very good

to relieve backaches, can try leaning your body againt the wall, with your shoulders and butt touching the wall. i do this whenever i can

i also have butt ache.. my friend told me to do in doggie style and move front and back few times to relax the butt muscle.. it works.. but after few days it comes back again.. so have to do it when it ache

mrslong : i dunno how to describe the pain.. but it's not back ache .. its the hip and pelvic that ache n hurt esp when getting in and out of car or when getting up of bed

Mine is backache..."sng" "sng" type, hehee.

bbbliss>> Yes, i also heard from my friend, Similac is the most expensive but it's apparently the best or something. Her twin daughters are drinking that.

California baby pdts: Is this brand really good? When going through the BP section, seems like alot of BP for this brand.

bbbliss

Yap I guess so... but if gd for bb and he/she can accept i dont mind...

think similac is best choice for spore mummy and mamil gold is europe mummy 1st choice....

yap atomickitten

it is normal leh i also experience this kind of pain occasionally when i walk gyane say it is normal...
