mstan888, L_L - its my first baby. I took epidural so the pushing part no pain.. hehe... stitching also no pain... I cant even feel the tear when pushing. Even when I move into my ward and when the epidural wears off, I dun really feel pain, just feeling achy and sore down there and I had piles...

Alicia, I shivered only during the process and felt numbness on both legs. Basically you cant feel ur legs one and you will feel that your legs r very heavy..
After I move into my ward, i can still feel numbness in my legs, not advisable to walk and go toilet yourself on the first day, must ask nurse to help you cos you may fall down

alicia, not everyone will have the side effect of shivering after epi. some will vomit, some dun even have side effects

mstan888, i got the medela swing, its gd but quite noisy if the suction is set high... should have gotten the dual pump cos didnt know my supply is quite ok..

miumiu, at first on average every 1.5-2 hrs if i latch.. and takes about 30mins to feed.. and i cant monitor bb drink how much..
now i pump and feed about 3hrs.. trying to feed baby more so baby can sleep longer..

where did u deliver? how's the hospital bill?

the gynae told me she is doing the stitching for me and i can feel her tugging the needle and thread =p

i deliver at TMC, book 4 bedder and free upgrade to 2 bedder, after medisave claims, total bill for mother and baby is about $1.5k. Its normal delivery with epidural.

miumiu i think so. but my bb keeps dozing off when i latch leh but try to latch a few times a day. so its up to individual i think.. plus we doing confinement and cant bath regularly.. not very hygenic to latch so frequently..

popping earlier means tt ur confinement ordeal would b over earlier.
so, tt means u can celebrate xmas &amp; new yr.

anyway, like wat i had shared earlier, after going for epidural for my #1 &amp; #2, dunno if i can tahan the delivery w/o epidural for #3, though pple said tt labour for #3 is usually shorter.

R u feeding baby on demand or you stick to a timing each day?
Can anyone advise, after we bath with the herbs,and dry ourselves, can we still rub on our toner etc, our stretch mark cream etc?
I haven used a dry powder before. Do we use it everyday? I have oily scalp..so i am concern my hair if dun wash will be very oily..

Ginnie, congrats!! So happy for u! Sounds like your delivery was a breeze! I'm definitely taking epi. As for tear, dun worry too much about it, will heal fast one I heard.

During childbirth class, trainer says it is impt to stop pushing when the midwive tell us to Stop. Must do fast panting so that bb won't 'dart' out like cannon and cause tear. Theory easy la, when actual delivery dunno rmbr ma.

Alicia, my doc also say my bb size big, if full term may be over 3.5 so ask me to do lots of squats and walking so bb can come earlier. Hubby say he going to walk me like a dog soon..I also scared later end up need C then jialat....need to eat less though I din gain much...aiyo...

Doozie, yes, can get from medicinal halls. My mum bot 20 pkts of the bath herbs for me..prepacked one with instructions how to prepare. Think abt $2 per pkt. Me not getting dry shampoo cos some say no good for scalp. Will use the herb water to wash hair when cannot tahan..

oh man, ginnie, congrats. we are like counting down. GG, i saw dr wong today, she say my baby seems to be ok size, but my amniotic fluid getting low. She also ask me do more squats so baby can engage. 37 weeks still not engage ar.

I still have 4-5 wks to go...heh! Hope bb don't come out earlier as I haven't wash his clothes and haven't even pack hospital bag!

Yes, its very very impt to bring pump to hospital.. in case bb cannot latch n u need to pump to stimulate supply... n hospital gives u those pathetic pigeon manual pump..i pump until vomit blood, not a single drop of milk on 3rd day... i use PIS, was able to get 65ml haha for my first pump, was so happy then.. u can borrow pis from hospital but i tink they charge $20 per day...


ivy, my bb not engaged yet at wk 37 also.. can squats help? if still dun engage, will be csect again...

Did my 35wks check today. bb is 2.5kg now. i did not put on any weight since wk33. But bb put on 100g. Dunno where that come from...

anyway gynea said it's a good weight. by the time i deliver should be 3kg just nice.

Can you walk on next day since you had natural delivery with epi? I'm with her too. Next appt is this Thurs, hee. Which level did you stay at TMC? Was service good?

Hi ladies, very long nv log in le or rather no time to follow the thread, have been bz taking care of my princess, have been giving total breastfeeding so feedings every 2 to 3 hrs, are really tiring but nevertheless it's really beneficial my princess so i have to endure.
My poor princess is admitted to hospital today after her first week checkup due to jaundice

So sad, she's a rare gem and her blood grp is ABneg, she don't follow me which is A+ nor hubby which is B+... haiz so her jaundice level shoot up to 300 today... no choice have to leave her in the hospital for 2 days of "suntanning" session because these few days also no sun to tan her at hm.... Hope that god will bless her and she will be back hm with us soon...
The Lactation consultant joked to me that my princess will like to give me 2 rest days,

I agree, his clinic is always so crowded but I think he's a really nice gynae, tho he'll make noise if you put on too much weight

Congrats! Now I'm wondering if I should've booked for a 4-bedder instead. Would anyone know if ESH would offer a free upgrade if there are slots too? Come to think of it, quite creepy being alone in a 2-bedder if there's no neighbour.

Plus, at 36 weeks, yr baby's considered full term already rite? Agree with Pauline that yr baby came realllly early!

Yeap, still on BM, i will either let her latch on when i visit her or provide expressed milk.. so i continue to wake up every 3 hrs to do the pumping although she's not at home with me now...
