sporty, welcome back. Din see you for a very long time.

Would like to know how many times of solid your little ones are taking now. Read from someone that by 9 months, they should be taking 3 times of solid daily. Mine take 1 bowl of cereal in the morning and 1 bowl of porridge for lunch. Now still thinking if I should increase 1 more meal of solid.

Milk wise, she is taking 2 bottles of milk in the daytime. About 3 latches. Twice in the morning and once before sleep.
 


I have the following formula milk for sale because my baby's not using these brands. Both are unopened, brand new, still sealed.

1) Mamil Gold Step 2, 400g, expiry Feb 2012 ($10)

2) Friso Gold Step 2, 900g, expiry May 2012 ($30)

So good ur gals learn to chew on their own. Yah perhaps i need to give more texture food to my boy for him to learn. Thks for ur advice.

Bidosoh: My boy eats 2-3 x porridge each day. But small intake of milk 2-3 x a day of 3-4oz only. He doesnt like milk much.

Taurus033: my boy also dont know how to chew. He jus choke on apple slice the other day when i let him try eating on his own. Scare me!! Lucky he puke it out
 
taurus: never teach, i started off with small biscuits before going on. i was surprised that when i gave her her first slice of apple she managed to bite a piece off and can actually chew before swallowing. i think its the skills that they learn with treats or with lumpier textures
 
I've also registered for the huggies swimmer event.

my boy dun like porridge, tried several times since he started semi-solid mths ago. he only takes cereal, 3x a day(150-180ml each feed) + 2/3x milk feed(100-180ml each feed).

bidosoh, been bz, thas why seldom online...missed me huh? haha... my gal's juz taking 1 cereal/porridge everyday on weekdays...on weekends, she will have 2 meals lor but sometimes none, depending on our weekend schedules but we will give her bread/biscuits if there' no solids on weekends...

taurus, dun worry la...am sure ur boy will learn to chew soon, give him food thas with texture...dun blend until so watery...
 
Taurus, thanks for your reply. BTW, thanks for your recommendation on Sembucol. Its an effective and good production. Too bad its not suitable for children under 1.

Wow seems like your milk is super duper powerful hor. Your girl without full solid and no difference from those with full solid + milk.

I guess I don't have to rush her to take more solid then.

Oh so u try out sambucol for ur boy? Just to let u know that its best to take Sugar Free Sambucol cause my sis said she read from some thread that some kids take those not sugar free ones, it doesn't help their illness. And also only take when about to fall sick not as supplement, if not body will rely too much on it. I am taking another brand which is Natures Way and 1yr old onwards can take. Anyway our little ones reaching 1 yr old soon.

taurus, ok la, juz MIA for awhile nia mah...haha... sambucol, i gotten a bottle for my boy but he dun like it!! waste my $$ man!! but so far, his immunity got better, nowadays seldom get calls from the skool to ask me to bring him home...i hope it remains this way! *keeping fingers crossed* the sambucol, can we feed bb after 1 yr old? cuz i wanna feed my gal with the "leftovers" leh...LOL

Try po loh soh ur boy to take, saying its good for him and is better than med. Not sure about sambucol cause we are taking natures way sambucus. If not you or ur husband can take it. Ur girl very good hor, anywhere also can sleep (saw the photo at the beach in fb). My boy can only sleep in his cot, outside too distracted to sleep.

taurus, ok, will only give him as a form "medication" when necessary. I bought 2 small bottles (for children type) just to try out. I will try the natures way then. Will get the adult and children ones this time. Also hope to see you during the Nov gathering.

The party supplies stores are right next to the back of Iluma, junction of Middle road and Queen Street. Can't miss them.

I want to give my bb tiny slices of apple but I'm afraid he may not know how to chew before swallowing. Do babies just know how to chew?!? I'm just afraid he may choke.

Adelynn, it is the Finest at Thomson Plaza, at the Organic section.

I realize that different ntucs have diff stock. This finest doesn't sell Yoplait baby yogurt but the NTUC at hdb hub does.

I went to PG last weekend to recce birthday cakes too. They have Sesame street single and 2-tier cakes. Normal cake is at least 1 to 1.5 kg + some artist decoration fee of approx. $20. Their cakes is min. $33/kg. So min. price for a 1kg kids cake would be $55+. Delivery is $25 for the cake. I will self collect.

Their sesame street 2-tier cakes are min 2kg and should be at least $33x2 + $20 = $86 minimum. Some excludes the cake figurines, some include. I intend to get a cake from there too. I ordered some cake figurines online so maybe I'll just ask them to put them on the cake for me.

kanelmo (kanelmo) : try florist around your area. At times you might find them. expecting to pay from 1.80 - 8/balloon. I know Thomson Plaza Florist near to Atrium does the inflation.

If you are near me, and able to provide me the date, I might be able to help w 1.80/balloon for 11" latex
 
taurus, diff to po lo soh him la...he's very easy when we feed him medication but sambucol, he juz refused lor! i even try to bluff him and used syringe to feed him lor! hahah... adults can take also eh? abit weird leh...hahha... yes, my gal can sleep anywhere one cuz we are always going out during the weekend so she's trained to sleep anywhere...hahha

bidosoh, not sure whether going for the bash or not yet, thas why i placed it as KIV...u leh? u wanna see me la, jio me for kopi at north pt lor since we stay so near :p haha

kanelmo, whenever i eat an apple, i will bite a small small piece for my gal to chew and eat...maybe u can try with smaller bite size instead of slices?

Morning mummies!

Velvo & Adelynn - No choice leh. The cakes are really too expensive! It will be more meaningful if I baked them myself and I'm thinking of doing a two-tier cake with Nutella Chocolate Cake as base and a cheese cake for the top tier. Wah! A big challenge for myself!

I'll also try to make as much of the barbeque food myself so I'll be doing a lot of marinating and preparation.

Did ur boy say why he dun like? No lah not weird sambucol also meant for adults, i also take when i going to fall sick and it helps. Yah loh we seldom go out so boy unable to sleep else where other than his cot.
 
taurus, same here i seldom bring my gal out. So she is not used to sleeping anywhere. I put her on those inwards facing carrier. She also cannot sleep. Other babies are sleeping so well.

Both of my kids are exactly the same. They can only sleep in their own bed.
 
sporty, sure if you are free on Saturday morning. I am always free that half of the day. As my hb and boy went for their badminton session.
 
Taurus: nice to see u here =) Wanna ask u if Sambucus is ok for preggies coz my sil is preggie n also always got some sinusitis thing going on..Same as my niece so i wanna recommend to them =)
 
Raerae, i am very prone to sinusitis when I have my 2nd one. Especially during the first and 2nd trimester. I find supplement is not neccessary and don't help in my case. After trial and error, I find exercising and diet control the most effect way of preventing sinusitis. Between the 2, exercise is the key. But it all depend of indivdual if they can take exercise. For me when I started with 2.5km of walk daily I find that I do not get sick easily during my preggies days. When started walking 3.5km daily (last 3 weeks of my preg), I feel that I am not pregnant at all, so healthy and very good stamina ;-)

If she is prone to sinusitis and wish to go for safer treatment, she can find an ENT (ear nose throat doctor). I kena 2 serious sinusitis during preggies days. I had to take 3 courses of antibiotic to get well each time. In the end I see my ENT and he did a simple procedure. He drained my sinus with sea water and i got well in 3 days. However the procedure is very costly.

So I find the best remedy is exercise and its free. To play safe maybe try with short distance first. I try with 1km then increase gradually.

yah loh dun go out often they not used to it, have to sleep in our arms. My boy can sleep in stroller but must be moving.

hi there, i'm not sure if can take sambucus during pregnancy. Like what bidosoh said best cure is exercise and diet. I only take smabucus when going to fall sick cause dun want body to depend on it.

think some kids dun like the taste, i myself also dun really like it. I not going bakery workshop liao, going to try it at home as what angeline suggested. U going overseas in Nov? hope can see u in the gathering.
