kiki
i'm giving her Healthy times brown rice cereals as i'm waiting for the arrival of Happybellies cereals. So u mixed the purees and cereal together to feed?

oh u have gd news for us!?

paige> keke. will u be able to pick up on wkend morning than? usually i will bring my boy out on wkends. or let me know ard when u convenient to pickup.

kiki> haha. i tot my period came tat time. ended up is juz spotting i supposed. cos tat time i sick, period never come, plus keep feel like vomitting, den hubby also ask me test. heng it's not =p

paige

i think the playmat is good to have, though not a necessity. to me its good because it provides a safe area, made of toxic free material, water proof and another factor is...it won't trap my dog's fur! i can't have a mattress lying on the floor because it will trap my dog's fur and seeing the amt of drool kimberly has these days, i'd only have more laundry to do. *cry - no thanks!* so the playmat is easy to clean up messes too if any, i just use wet wipes or damn cloth. my only complain is...its quite heavy, not exactly easy to roll up when u wanna mop the floor! its not a playmat where u can say...happy happy roll up and carry from this room to that room/hall.

i'd test tomorrow morning with 1st pee. i really hope i'm not that 'lucky'. =/ at least not now!! don't think i can cope!

kiki,
Go test it out!!! You can be pregnant again even before your period comes back. I am still BFing and my menses just came back. But even before my menses came back, I take no chance, we use protection everytime. Share with us, ya!

Paige,
When will K start infant care?

milkyway

yep, i mix the cereal and puree for her noon feed. but puree i add abit only, about 4 teaspoon or so. just to give some flavour. but usually before i mix puree to cereal, she would have tried the puree pure for at least twice already. i can tell u surely that my girl does not really like pure puree...everytime the face is one cute expression. for pure purees, besides banana and apple which she likes better, she only willing to take max abt 6 spoons than will start to turn away or purse her lips shut! but when mixed with cereal...oh, very happy to finish everything. which is about 80ml or 2oz slightly more. lol.

Baby Fair

Takashimaya having one starting this Thurs. Expo having one next weekend.

Kiki
Hehe! hope to hear good news from you!

Kam
Huh? Can be pregnant before period comes back?? Thought no ovulation that is why period is not here?hmmzz

Bernice,
Before period comes back, you don't know if you have ovulated, or do you? Thought it's ovalation, then no fertilisation, then period comes. So what if your body decides to start ovaluting this month, and you coincidently ML without protection?

KiKi, its possible to be preg. Hahah I was preg with #3 when #2 was around our babies's current age... lol

So age gap is 15months..
happy.gif

U better go check cause this period actually we are very fertile even before mense come back.

Actually why must test with 1st pee? Now test can tell right? ahahah this question just shouldn't come out from my mouth hor.. lol but I really dunno... lol

Bernice,
Yes, Steph is right. I forgot to mention that I read we are super fertile at this very period :)

Steph,
Cos last time the pregnancy test strip are not sensitive enough. So usually advised to use 1st pee in the morning when the HCG was at the highest concentration. But I think now the test strip are a lot more sensitive, so most of the test strip don't need to use 1st pee. Or if you got faint positive, then it's advisable to test again using 1st pee.

hmm my period also no back yet, i think... but i do get spottings occasionally leh.. or is that my period just that it's very little?? ermm, i didnt track the dates also... i also didnt know can get pregnant when period not back.. hmm

now got the pregnancy test kit that tells you how many weeks you are pregnant.. so cute! lol

KiKi, go buy and test and tell us the news k

kiki:

sorry to burst the 'excitment', but boy am i relieved that i tested negative! i can't imagine if i'm really pregnant again now. months before when i had this talk with my hb, it seems like he thinks we should stick to having 1 kid. now it seems he wants to have another. he came home first thing say to me "got test? maybe got baby boy." crazy! want boy only can have boy meh?! i asked him how come he like change his mind leh? and he answered "coz mommy is doing such a good job mah...i think can have another lah!" YA RITE! think my hb too relaxed already...i should find ways to 'torture' him. lol.

hi mummies,

i remembered reading about some iron-on labels sometime ago. can't remember posted by who. anyone has any idea where i can get iron-on labels for my son's clothes. want to label those that he brings to the infant care centre.

or can anyone share how you go about labelling their clothes?

paige
oh...trust me, kimberly is quite sticky and pretty cranky on some days! there are insane days! but the good thing is...by abt 830-9pm, she gets sleepy and is ready for bedtime. once i give her a wipe down, she quite automatically gets sleepy and will start to yawn n rub rub her eyes. *hmm... maybe thats why my hb feels she's such a easy baby!* but afternoons...sometimes i only get to take my lunch at like 3pm! and nowadays afternoon naps are getting shorter n shorter!

melissa
i think better don't rush to give lucas too much cereal, let him adjust slowly. is he taking well to the spoon? when u just start its more like for fun and introducing the concept of the spoon to him. when i started, i only give once a day. now i'm giving twice a day. think brown rice rarely if ever causes an allergy. think u would be more concern if it causes constipation, as it sometimes might for some babies.

baeyby
i think it was rach. but there was this other mummy taking bp orders in the bp section. not sure if she's still doing it. u might like to check the bp threads.

Printz n such,
Does your infant care ask you to label your kid's clothes? For my #1 infant care, they don't ask parents to label the clothes, cos each baby will have their own pigeon hole to put their stuff, so things won't get mixed up. And after a few weeks, the teachers can recognise which clothes belong to which kids already. Only need to label bottles cos all bottles will be put at 1 same place.

hi kam,

actually my infant care didn't ask me to label the clothes. so far, have only labelled his bottles and sippy cup. they have individual cupboards for each child, so they usually transfer the clothes from the bag i bring each morning, to his cupboard. but yesterday i noticed that there was 2 rompers in his dirty clothes bag (they bathe him twice a day), but neither of the 2 was the one he wore in the morning when i sent him there, although both were still his rompers. kinda puzzled, cos whether they changed him 2 or 3 times, one of those in the dirty clothes bag should be the one he wore in the morning. so maybe there was a mix up after bath time. asked the teacher this morning, she said she'd check for me.

cos of that, i was thinking of labelling his clothes too. am i too kiasu?

printz n such,
For the 16 months when my #1 was at the infant care, yes, they did mix up their clothes (ie, put someone else clothes in my #1 bag) for maybe less than 5 times. I don't mind at all, I just passed it back to the teacher and got mine back, as I think this won't do any harm to my boy and I understood the teachers could be very busy at times and that they didn't do it on purpose. You are not kiasu. But if this bother you, then yes, you go ahead and label the clothes. My guess is, even if you label the clothes, they might still get it mixed up when things are running crazy at the centre. Unless you stress to the teacher that you are very concern and don't want to get mixed up, then they might pay special attention to your kid's bag. But on the same time, you might get them label you as "difficult to please parents". Just my opinion :)

hi kam,

yah! i know what you mean.
happy.gif
don't want to add another thing for them to do... and true... it doesn't cause any harm.

Baby Bonus Account

Just to check... the baby bonus account can only be used for approved institutions (e.g. infant care centres, clinics etc).

say i already have the maximum amount, as in I contributed $6000 and government matched $6000 for my first child, can the amount that is put in after that be used for other purposes?

am thinking if i need to open another savings account for my baby (put his ang pow money) or can i just put in his baby bonus account? but this money is more like gifts from other people to him, so i won't want to use it for infant care, injections etc.

can share how you managed it?

The savings in the CDA may be used to pay fees for all your children who are attending Approved Institutions registered with MCYS under the Baby Bonus Scheme. The CDA savings can also be used to purchase MediShield or Medisave-approved private integrated plans for all your children and pay for all your children’s medical-related expenses. These would include consultation fees, treatment fees and prescription costs incurred at healthcare institutions.

The funds cannot be withdrawn in cash. The funds can also be used for Singapore Dollar fixed or time deposit accounts approved by MCYS and offered by OCBC Bank and Standard Chartered. You may enquire directly with your chosen CDA bank on the use of CDA funds for such deposit accounts.

Haha.. now i got to back track and read all the archive on puree T_T just moved out my blender and have no idea what to do with it! XD

I got Parklon playmat big size 15mm de. It is quite heavy but i think a good investment lo. You can get a smaller ones that are available...

Btw, is it only my girl or do your kids also have sweat on their heads when they flip on to their tummy? Mine always sweat like no one's business, machiam just wet her hair. She even flip while sleeping!!! T_T so scared now have to sleep beside her or place pillow next to her. Oh and i have no idea how to teach her to flip back
sad.gif
Anyone?

thanks kiki. I started Lucas on cereal once a day... Plan to slowly increase his intake n then to twice a day. It's my stupid mil who went to feed him twice yesterday!! Sigh.
he's ok with the spoon n likes the cereal.. hopefully no constipation. My mil like to rush into things sometimes n I hv to tell her... Sometimes say oso no use.

gina, my boy oso sweat alot, during feeding time, play time etc.
For flipping, I guided him how to flip back few times... initially he dunno how to, got tired of tummy time, frustrated n started crying. After tat I think he learned on his own.. When I played w him... observed he can flip over and flip back.

Gina
My PD taught me how to 'train' Ian to flip onto tummy and when he can do that, how to flip back. When he's laying down, you cross his legs, which will naturally turn his buttock to one side then he'll turn his upper body too. I helped Ian a few times, now he can flip on tummy and back and turn 360 degree on his own. Previously when he couldn't flip back was crazy, I have to keep waking up in the nite to flip him back.

gina
my girl perspires alot too! her head everytime wet wet and i can see the beads of perspiration! its the weather lah...even i'm also perspiring like nobody's business.

mummies
which brand of diapers has the largest M size cutting? am gonna run out of M size diapers soon. find that drypers n nepia which i'm using is getting too tight at the thighs. but L is too big for now!

michelle - haha i think applesauce is apple puree leh! i got it frm kl when i went last yr. but i think sg also have. i got gerber one. first time trying so i dunno gd anot or whether too sweet. i taste liao quite ok leh. hehe next in the menu is sweet potato!

jollimilk i am also milling over to work or not. so far, there are days when i wanna pull my hair and scream at jacob but there are also sweet moments which job cannot give. like yesterday, while i was on the phone, i saw jacob crawling! ermm... leopard crawling tt is. hehe i was amazed cos i am expecting him to sit without assistance first rather than crawl. and he kept doing it again today on the bumper mat. i have to keep pulling him to the centre of the mat cos he is all over the place and on the floor trying to chase his toy ball! if i had been working, most prob i will be visualising him do this by whichever minder he is left with. like wad kiki said, its priceless
happy.gif
had been discussing with hubs also. he is ok w me not working but i still dun like e idea of getting $$$ frm him!

rach i have already tried feeding jacob on the go liao. very easy one, just scoop some cereal into tupperware/snack container/lockandlock can liao. then i also scoop a bit of cold puree into the bowl i will feed in. it has a cover and 2 compartments and bring milk out. but this is provided u will feed within an hr or so lor. then i fed him while hubs and fil eat cos someone needs to look after him anyway. will take turn to eat and feed him. haha for the milk to mix in cereal, i never even warm wor, cos not cold liao mah. if u are overseas use juice or bottled distilled water? bring lotsa food jars lor

paige i think the play mat is a gd investment leh. better than letting jacob crawl on the cold floor or mattress cos mattress more maintenance! and crawl he can! the mat i bot is quite big liao he still can land on the floor, sometimes knocking his head a little. the mat is heavy but i dun bother picking it up leh! cos if need to mop the floor i will just mop ard it wor! haha! cos underneath where will get dirty? hahahaha!!! i just made sure the floor was clean when i placed it

potbelly i got my mat second hand from the forum. got bp also. if u are not in a hurry can wait for ppl to post cos the mat is of gd material so second hand also ok. just sterilise when u get it lor haha!

melissa haha i just went ahead and fed twice for cereal for the first day but each time 1 tblspoon

gina mine also sweats a lot lor! hubs and i always say he is not very meaty cos he sweats too much liao, all the energy frm milk is converted to sweat! he will sweat on our bed and when we pick him up, can see a wet patch ard the area his head rested. dun need to teach ur baby to flip bah, guess they can figure out themselves? hehe

organic fruits and veg
i am ordering from http://www.greencircle.com.sg/ cos they have free delivery for $30 and above. any mummies staying near redhill area wants to tompang or share? i will be ordering sweetcorn, sweet potato, carrot, pumpkin, apples, bananas and papaya. dun think jacob can finish so if any mummy wanna share w me let me know okie? hehe! delivery shld be this fri

Gina my girl perspires a lot too. Leaves a wet patch on cushion or bed. I figure that it's a common thing among babies. And the el niño is not helping either. :p

cookiezz yeah I'm thinking of getting a big playmat for her. What's the diff between lg and parklon? I googles and I found a website selling it for $300!!
