Jul,
It's written by a few authors, can't remember their names.
Kiki,
1) so for starters, which types of puree shd we try to make? would fruits puree be a good start? if yes, what types of fruits to start with?
Fruit and veg puree - sweet potato, potato, avocado, apple, pear, green pea, etc. You have the complete answer in that book. I have also noted down some in my blog for my #1 -
http://babyhaore.blogspot.com/2008/08/vegetable-and-fruit-puree.html. Before puree, I would give cereal as the first food.
2) how to tell if puree has gone bad after its frozen? can freeze for how long ah?
> Same as how your tell when your (adult) food turns bad, ie, it would taste sour and awful. Try to consume within 1 month.
3) so can we start puree at 4 mths or better to start at 6 mths? and how long does baby eat puree for before they can eat porridge?
> The books and the PDs say between 4-6 months. Personally, I think if my baby is growing well with BM/FM, I would definitely starts at 6 months, cos by then their digestive system is much more developed, so won't be to taxing for them to take solid food. You can start porridge anytime, personal choice, really
4) when feeding puree, we shd reduce the milk feed right? so do we replace each milk feed with 1 puree feed? so for a start, just how many times puree a day?
for the first month or so, it's more of letting them to test and to learn how to eat/swallow solid food, and they can only take a very small portion. So can't really replace a milk feed. As soon as they can take in more, which can last for 2-3 hours before getting hungry again, then yes, can replace with 1 milk feed. Not neccessary to reduce the amount of milk if your baby can take, you gonna observe your baby
oh..u mentioned before u bought small containers from daiso for puree storage. those can store how many ml of puree? smally smally ones?
I don't measure how much puree to put in. You will know how much is enough for 1 feed for your baby once you started
And just to kay-poh on the question your asked Jul - yes, stomach flu is very contangious, as it's caused by (nasty) virus infection.
