Gdnite. Me also gog back to bed. Hope Hubs can feed n change Sam's diaper before he goes to work, then I can sleep longer haha

nxt time dun take out la. take out from freezer n put in fridge to defroze in a cup of water? den when he really wakes up den put in warmer lo. i olways do tat. anyway put in warmer only need 4mins or so to heat up.

I've gotten my freestyle & charged it. Yeah. I wana ask those using freestyle do u completely dry the parts before using it on the pump because the instructions say muz be completely dry leh?

I might be able to join as my mum stays at sengkang. After the gathering I can go back for dinner.
 
just to ask, on average, how many feeds a day are your babies taking? Marc is still on his 3 hourly (sometimes less!) rota, so that's still 8 feeds a day.

My baby is having about 8 feeds a day. As sometimes her feed is less than 3 hours like Marc.

I will also like to ask Mommies here when your bb sleep thru the night, does he/she drinks more for the first feed of the day? My bb slept from 11pm to 6 am today. She did wake up to fuss at 3am but did not want to drink her milk. I had to throw away 120mL of EBM! (So heart pain) She then wake up at 6.30am and rejected in latching on... so heated up 100mL of EBM.

I am worried as she did not drink for more than 8 hours. Is this normal? Although it will be nice that she sleeps like this... but is it ok?
 
i feel like going for gathering at compasspoint too...

gotta check with hubby first, he not comfortable with me bringing bb out alone...

I leave his legs outside the sling lei :p Anyway, when I was at the shop, the sale person didn't know how to position Ian's legs when he's in the carrier. The sale girl spread his legs wide across my hubby's waist (He was the one trying), it was so uncomfortable for bb that he cried and cried. How do u position your bb's legs in the carrier?

Sometimes, I tot Ian is hungry so I warm up the milk only to find him sleeping later. How long can I leave EBM on the warmer?

My girl (3 months tomorrow) is taking EBM 4 hourly during the day. She usually has 7 feeds (EBM + latch) a day, 120ml for each feed.

Think her nanny is very good in training her to follow a routine. At night, we still didn't manage to get her follow a fixed routine (mainly because we have #1 to tend to). So for day time, it's definitely 4 hourly, for night time, cos I latch, so can be <4 hour. And she wakes up for night feed(s).

hmm.. sam's taking 130ml every 2.5-3h now. but he doesn't feed for about 9-10 hours at nite, even tho he only sleeps thru for abt 7-8h. maybe that's why ne feeds more often in the day?

mostly he takes only 6 feeds a day, n sometimes 7 feeds a day.

i'm kind of feeding sam on demand. if he sleeps, it's 3-4h, if awake, then it'll be 2.5-3h.

coz he started sleeping thru the nite not long, i'm worried he'll wake up n wanna feed. gotta prepare 1st coz pigeon warmer takes 15min to warm the milk from fridge temp.

i asked the exact same qn when i first got my freestyle..heh
mommies here generally just flick the parts dry before using, so it's still wet. that's what parentcraft at tmc does too
for me, i'll wipe dry with tissue
 
kylie takes 120ml of EBM every 4 hours during the day. During the night, she can go 5 - 6 hours between feeds. so feed 6 times a day

Why don't you try heating up the milk using just hot water. keep changing the water. i normally change twice and it takes me about 3 - 4 minutes to heat up the milk, so i just let kylie cry for abit or i stuff the pacifier in her mouth while waiting

No offence taken, k. Just share my view. Wiping dry with tissue is not recommended leh, because the tissue it NOT sterilise, so what's the point of drying the sterilsed pump with an unsterilise tissue?

No offence taken, no worries. what you say does make sense but i guess if i let it air dry, it might be worse since i'm sure there are alot more germs flying around my hse with my FIL forever coughing &amp; sneezing

btw, just to let mommies here know. when Kylie was hospitalised at NUH, i realise that the nurses there just rinse the bottles before sterislizing. never wash. and after sterilizing, they just take the bottles out and leave it in the open, unassembled. OMG.
even hospitals also quite bochup about milk bottles being germ free

I also don't wash, just rinse the bottles with tap water then dump in the steriliser :) Actually, the best way is to leave the bottles in the steriliser until you want to use it. If you take it out way before you need it, then just flick the bottle and teat as dry as possible, then assemble the bottle and leave it. It's ok that it's not dry cos whatever remains in the bottle has been sterilised, free of germ.

Yes, agree, worst is to let it open and dry.

Clarice also feeds abt 6-7 times a day now. She'll be latching on every 3 hrs during the day. I'll let her latch before she sleeps at about 10 or 11+pm. Her next feed will be around 4 or 5+am.

I dun like to let him open legs wide cause I very big size, then poor boy have to open legs really wide across my waist.. hahahah So His leg is like a M... like squatting like that...

The lady who helped me sounds like she's from China. My hubby not big size but still an adult man leh, and she made bb wrap him legs around him, so uncomfortable. Maybe I'll go again another day, hopefully can bump into shop owner.

i'm using freestyle too but i nv really dry the parts.. only flick the water away lor.. so far so gd... think i didnt read the manual properly and only found out from Steph that the parts have to be dry at the recent gathering.. hmm but i still flick it only. :p

my gal is taking abt 7-8 feeds a day, but not so much on a fixed timing, i'm feeding more on demand... so give and take abt an hr for each feed.

and i'm still changing diapers 8-9 times a day. feels like i'm going broke on diapers.

on Mon when she helped the mummy ( sorry cant rem who) to try on the Manduca... the baby leg position also v funny. the leg like fold in... not the squatting position and definitely not like the way milkyway positions her girl's legs.

angel - I'm giving her 100ml feeds every 3hrs. At night is on demand, usually her feed is between 4-5hrs.

feeds a day> keke. sometimes my boy feeds more den 8times a day. he is ard 8-9feeds. but becos sometimes i dunno wat he wants, den i juz latch him on. n sometimes like i wanna go shopping, i lazy to find a nursing room, so i juz nurse him in de car before we reach our destination even if it's not his feeding time yet.

jul> oo. pigeon warmer so long? why not invest in a avent warmer? i bought one new one. n figured out tat i shuld buy another one to put at my dad's hm, so no need to carry here n there. i got a 2nd hand one at only 25bucks. worth it leh. anyway not spoilt, can use can le =p so it only take 4-5mins to warm up de milk n dun need to fear my boy screaming de ceiling down cos 4-5mins he can wait. usually i will go warm de milk when he cry, den change his diapers while waiting for de milk to be warmed, by than juz nice ready for him to drink again =p

Mummies, do you change diaper for your babies in the middle of the night? If so, do you use wipes and also apply cream? Do they wake up?

Is it ok to not chnage for 9 hrs?

I don't change my baby's diaper at night anymore (unless she poo in the middle of the night). This is since she has better bowel control a few weeks back, cos when she was younger, a little bit of poo came out when she peed. Now no more. So usually her last change is at 10pm till 7am the next morning. Using Fitti S size on her. So far so good.

if my gal sleeps thru the night fr 10pm-4pm, i don't change her diaper unless she fusses. but don't know why during the day, she tends to be very fussy with dirty/wet diapers. if i bo chap, she will cry lor! so bo pian got to change!

i used to change diapers in the middle of the night when she gets up for her feeds. yes, she will wake up when i change the diaper. nowadays if she can sleep thru, i will let it be. yes, i always use wipes each time i change, if just pee pee, i use only 1 wipe, basically just to wipe the pee smell away. before 1 mth old, without fail always apply diaper cream with each change, now, i don't, only apply the cream like 3 times a day. usually at 1st feed, then after bath (mid day), then last feed i will apply diaper cream.

i think whether its ok or not to not change diaper for 9hrs depends on how fussy your baby is and whether it will leak or not.

10pm-7am, the diaper won't leak? thats very good leh! my gal from 10pm-4pm, then diaper is very heavy already..and sometimes it will leak. i used to have to change the cotsheets all the time. until recently, my MIL passed me some spare clothe nappies and i fold into 4 and put below her bum just in case it leaks so i don't have to do laundry changing sheets all the time! siong!

i think if poo, its best to not leave it for too long. if not later might get UTI. maybe i'm more paranoid abt this. lucky for me, my gal doesn't poo in the middle of the night. her poo is quite 'on time' one, usually late morning or afternoon and early evening abt 2 times a day.

my boy is fed at 5-6am, 9am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm, and once in midnite between 2-4am on demand. 7 feeds a day.

i change his diaper if he poos, using wet wipe. he usually wakes up for a while, smiles n talks to me, but i bo chup him, then he k.o. again in a short while. after 9pm feed i change his diaper and apply a thick layer of nappy cream.

Agree with Kiki. If poo, cannot don't change leh - risk for UTI and diaper rash. Though UTI is more common in girls, it can get to boys also. My friend's baby got UTI when he was about 6 months old, poor boy, so much suffer he went through and have to take med everyday till 2 years old.

Yup, never leaked till now (finger crossed!). Why not try change to a larger size diaper? Cos that's happen to my #1, whenever the urine leaked overnight, we "upsize" his diaper and it solve the problem leh :)
 
i also dun change diapers in the nite. afraid that he wun get back to sleep after i change him. he's aws super active n awake adter diaper changes!

guess it's abt 8 or 9pm till 6 or 7am. haha i very bad hor? all along i change him v infrequently.

but in the day time, i change him more oftenm coz he norm poops in the day. ironically, he used to be not fussy abt diaper change when he was younger. after he hit 2 mths, he started getting fussy!

my boy poo during bath yesterday!!! i nearly fainted... wrap him up then change water then bath again. my #1 has never done that to me.

But like what <font color="0000ff">Kam</font> said I will use a bigger diaper (hence am using 'grandma panty style' PAMPERS) for her at night, it handles leaks better...no more sexy bikini cut fitti at night to reduce leaks

I'm worse! I only apply desitin twice a day!! Later going to collect my 4 tubes from jenifur, I have a feeling I will never be able to finish them all!
