*shelled*
woah yours is also 2 weeks only... when i heard its average about one week..i damn sian leh.... usually menses only 5-6 days... i already dread... now i think of WEEKS... kaoz...

Hmm.. seemed like almost all of you never use maternity pads... using the normal pads.. i think i can do that too... haha... much cheaper and comfortable loh! hahaa...

itsy> oo. good idea. keke. will remember gettin some rubber gloves than =p

jul> cotton disposable ones more costly rite? where can i find there btw?

moojenn> yeah. i still experience cramps. esp at nite when it's cold n hubby forget to off the aircon.

huishan> i oso dun understand abt the outer skin u tokin abt.

glucose test>at wat stage do we need to do dis glucose test? was not told abt it by my gynae leh. -_-

ling> keke. i oso juz eat the cheese nachos for dinner. yummy. de cheese very thick. feel fat. tml gonna get scolded by gynae again =x

i cant find any diaper covers too. in de end settled for those at baby hypermart. not nice. n costly. 5.90 each or 6.90 each -_- wonder if i can juz get pants n wear. -_-

flower4> peel off bb's nails?? den de whole nail drop off =x

princessxiaomei> ya. i tink i go buy normal sofy xtra long with wings too. think gonna be more comfortable than those maternity pad. after reading wat they say here, haha. cannot img myself wearing it.

michelle...

Cotton ones are more ex. The normal disposable ones can get at $1.95 for 5 or 7 pcs.. But I was tinking, during confinemt alr so uncomfortable. I would rather pay a bit more for the comfort of 100% cotton ones.

I just bought a pack of 100% cotton disposable panties from Watsons just now (Brand: Hi Jean). $4.50 for a pack of 5. Have opened one pc to have a feel of it.. not bad I guess.. Will be getting more later on.

hmm.. The diaper covers at Kiddy Palace are selling at 8 and 9 plus for 1 lo.. Will be looking ard for them again ba..

princessxiaomei...

U know what are nappies? Those white square cloths which have to be foldered then used as diapers for our bb's? The Nappy Liners are to protect the nappy from poo stains. Just throw them away aft each poo. The diaper covers are waterproof covers to protect leakage of bb's urine.

Hope i did explain well enuf for u to understand..

*ling*
i saw from ntuc... still got sizes one leh.. then i also dont know what size to take.. dont even know take M or L... -.-" i think i am really a dumbo!

i know whats nappies.. but i forget how to fold and use..... last time i did twice only... lols... so nappy liners put on top of nappies then fold and wear???

girly
eh we same same thoughts hor! i also hate the maternity loopies the hosp provide. always end up never using the whole pack they charged me for. i agree with u totally! when i wear that i walk like a duck like something hanging in between!

u also like scissors huh? i find tt for newborns until their nails harden and more "distinct" its easier to use scissors hor. maybe im paranoid lah i so scared i cut the skin!

JUL
wah u sure u gonna use up 80 maternity pads??? u expecting urself to bleed heavily for so long ah? haha...

princessxiaomei...

They should have sizing stated on the packagin. The ones I saw just now, XS - 2-4Kg, S - 3-7kg.. something lidat la.. u can buy small sized ones first for the time being ba.. Then buy bigger ones as they outgrow lo..

The liners, just lay them on the nappies like how we would place our pads on ur panties lo.. Then place them under bb's bum n wrap up lo..

mamato6...

Can we choose not to wear the loop ones the hospital provide? Can we just tell them from the start that we dun want and we will use our own? We just pack more into our maternity bag lo..

hai hao my fren gave me her leftover unused maternity pads.. So i no nid to decide whether to buy or not.. heez.. I will just go get those night use ones. I saw Sofy has this Comfort Night pads (35cm long). Will be gettin those for day use n the (40.5cm long) for night use.

ling> keke. ya. i think i go buy more disposable undies too. dun think i wanna buy de paper one. cos usually i oredi dun like them.

n ya. if u manage to find nice diaper covers, let me know too. i need to buy more. temp only bought like 4 from baby hypermart. dun tink they'll be enugh though =x

princessxiaomei> ntuc oso sell nappy pants? erms. maybe i go check them out. keke. i oso have no idea how to fold nappy. only hubby know how to use. think i'll get him to "service" baby. haha =x

michelle...

okies.. will let u know if i happen to find them. U ok with plain ones hor? I find them easier to match with any clothin cos with the covers, no nid to wear shorts or pants liao..

Have found this web that shows how to fold the nappies. We'll normally use the chinese fold.

michelle,
heee, olden dayz are like tat leh,
last time i always see my neighbour do tat to their babies :p...

Princessxiaomei,
hey, u very cute leh. can share with me how many information & advise u have gather already ah? from confinement to maternity to babies ah?

i lost track, previously when discuss i nver save or write down & remember.

Last time are u the one who ask about bathing during confinement then some1 provide the herbal shop contacts, u still have anot ah?

i think i mus start writing down & remember wat we learn from here onwards lor, memory then badz...

now i remember HOney POt only hahahaaa... my heart like itchy tot of going for honey pot for waxing after shelled share with us.heheheee...

Princess,
yes i intend to use only Sofy night long when the flow is heavy then when lighter switch back to the normal ones. Mayb just have to change more frequently if the flow is really heavy during the first few days ba.

Regarding folding of the nappies, think Mrs Wong will be teaching in her classes and my fren also tells me she sells the nappies as well. So you might want to get from her? I got mine from the Bugis shop that ling introduced. Look forward to playing with dolls next lesson.. been eons since i touch a doll.. haha

Ling,
you just change the colour and the fonts of the table rite? keke...

Ling
i think cant leh. cos after delivery they will just loop it for u cos u wont even be wearing ur panty mah! if u ask them wear normal pad for u where to stick on? normally aft delivery u will be bare down there maybe cos sore after all the raw stitches and the swell from all that pushing. if u feel uncomfortable which im sure u would (LOL) then after u get back to ur ward u go and change lor.

mamato6js,
huh? will be bare down there after delivery and only have the maternity pad? safe meh? i mean wat if there are leakage when you walk with just the maternity pad and it's looped? sure very "unstable" rite? i think i will definitely want to change out after that!!

mamato6...

huh? really ah.. then i tink no choice lo.. But last yr when i had a miscarriage, i did the dnc, they just put the pad on lidat leh.. in between my legs(closed of cos). No panties also. When I arrived at my ward and when its time to change pad, just put on panties thereaft lo..

Wonder if it can work this way.. hahahah

last time after delivery the nurse gave me a netted panties to wear with the loop maternity pad

i'm looking for the adhesive maternity pads that i used last time, i bought from motherhood fair last year, $2 for 10 pcs, buy 2 packets and get 1 free. too bad i can't recall the brand

better buy disposable panties for first 2 weeks, no need to wash if stain keke

argh.. ling i jus on OKTO, show over
sad.gif

wat happen to e twin at the end ah?

Waiwai,
disposal panties , i will definitely try to get the bigger the better, u think so?

*flower*
yup beri thick one...the flow will be a lot so better wear those night use extra long sanitary pads lor...

*princess*
ya lor...use extra long for night use then later when flow lesser the regular ones...no problem at all...and i find it even better. the maternity pads thick and uncomfy and worst thing is i find that it doesn't absorb so well lor...

*mama to 6Js*
han nor...even if i don't usually wad like a duck, those maternity pads make me wad like one...
me paraniod oso, find scissors safer...i still cut my 3yo and 4yo's nails with the scissors, no problem at all...

*itsy*
wah... u using cotton disposable panties??? me find it expensive...i normally use the paper ones coz since use liao will throw. usually using more than 1 per day coz panties might get stained oso...cotton ones cost abt a dollar a pc, a lot to me wor...
i'll be using disposable panties for the whole mth coz i won't be doing any washing myself and i don't expect my confinement lady to wash for me oso...

*waiwai*
oh ya same, the hospital actually put on the loop maternity pad for me bt with the netted disposable panty too. U Mt A?

*flower*
hahahahahaha...can la...need to bath, wash hair, clean face, brush teeth oso wat. unless can 'dry clean' ourself lor...lazy la. find it a chore and tat is the last thing i wanted to do...i rather spent the time needed to wash the panties on taking care of bb...

princessxiaomei
Added u in FB liao! :p
got me recent preggie photo, a bit blur though.. but i think still can regconise la... my thumbnail showing my belly :p
where got trash.. still look pretty in preggie state lo...

underpads.. something like this: http://www.allproducts.com/manufacture97/christina0/product1.jpg - it like a pad but rectangular and much bigger.. blue color base, white cottony top.. usually used in hosp.

waxing
dunno after doing the brazil, still can walk out the shop or nt... i scare it will trigger me into contractions.... lol... how ar...

Ling
nice new look for the table~~!

flower...

There were 2 couples. The first one delivered both safely at 34 weeks via epi c-sect. The other couple delivered both babies via emergency c-sect ard 31 weeks i tink.. but 1 twin passed away aft a few hrs. they managed to cuddle him n took pictures before he left.

i also didn't use maternity pads, just use the normal night pads. it feels more comfortable than the ultra thick ones the hospital uses and i rather change them more frequently. just make sure that they are the cotton surface rather than those netted ones.

Jess,

THANKS!

RE: PYJAMAS

Wat for huh?? to wear at home or hospital??

at home, i don't haf the habit of wearing pyjamas.

at hospital, nt necessary to wear pyjamas oso...i'll find myself weird walking around in them, haha...wear wat i normally wear during pregnancy...scared cold can wear track pants...

*ling*
I refering to the disposable panties leh, got sizing... LOL! Damn funny ah... you tell me 2-4kg.. very hard to imagine leh.. i'm those visual learner... hahahaa...

*mamato5Js*
I laughed when i saw what you wrote about walking like a duck. You mean after we deliver they will help us put on that loop maternity pad without any panty??? like that look so funny ugly horrible uncomfortable...

*michelle*
No ah. NTUC never sell nappy pants.. is sell disposable panties... paiseh ah i think i never type properly make you confuse also. LOL! That means after putting on the nappy liner on the napkins, then put on the nappy pants?

*flower4*
i ask ask ask then try to remember as much as i can but end up ah..... my brain cannot remember so much! Jialat! Now i try to remember again..... will try to consolidate my findings... LOL! head so confuse now! aiyoooo....

*milkyway*
Like that ah.. i think i just ignore about "MATERNITY" pads.. and get the sofy 40.5cm long ones... luckily i ask.. or else i was still thinking to get 2 weeks supply of MATERNITY ones loh... hahaa... my house have some napkins and i think one of my relatives bought some napkins for me too. For what they buy i also no idea! Only buy me that.... hahaha....

*girlygirly*
today then i know soooo many mummies never really buy MATERNITY ones.. hahahahaa.... luckily got forum.. or else i really have no idea and look like some swaku nuts. Hahahahaa....

*jess*
approved liao! Hahaa.... cannot recognise leh...... jialat.... memory from bad to worse.... hahaa....

princessxiaomei,
lucky tat u raise tis query here about maternity pad ah, cuz during my TMC antenatal class, the nurse oso ask us to get those THICK THICK LOOP and tie kind lah... PHEW need to walk like a duck for few weeks.

u sure can consolidated the queries one, dun 4get u are a blogger ;p

flower4,
even though the nails are soft, i don't think the baby's nails can be pulled off. not so malleable.

michelle,
the glucose test is recommended on a case to case basis only. so you'll only learn of it if your gyne orders you to go for one.

jul,
i don't think you can finish 80 lah. unless you change once every 1.5-2 hours.

ling,
the hospitals won't give you a choice lah. they'll just open a pack and help you to wear one after you've delivered. and seriously, you'll be too drowsy and tired to argue with them that you don't want to wear the pad after delivery. don't worry abt the leakage. you're in a hospital and the staff will help you to change the sheets once you've stained the bed. at first i was quite apologetic, cos i stained a couple of times, but the nurses kept reassuring me that it's alright. i think they're very used to it already.

princess
thanks! hehe.. nvm.. i will try to lookout for u and milkyway on sat :p
but mrs wong talk so fast.. we cannot be distracted too much also.. lol

disposable undies
i bought those foe expectant/ maternity ones.. bigger in size.. hope it more comfy

karmy pyjamas
at any john little outlets have, besides robinsons?

flower4,
you bringing your own PJs to the hospital? for me, i just wore whatever the hospital provided. cos i didn't want to stain my own clothes. like i said, i stained myself a couple of times on the first two days, so if you're bringing your own clothes, maybe can consider bringing a couple of sets. so that once you dirty a set, can immediately change and get your husband to bring home the dirty set to wash.

*flower4*
hahaa.. eh how you know i am a blogger? wahahaha.... i will try my best okay.... :) too many things on my head... i think of confinement, i get pissed liao.. think of this and that, also want to ki siao liao.. hahaha...

*jess*
Yah she talk so fast.. i am trying to catch what she say at times.. and try to remember... LOL! think we 3 all sit in the front row loh... but i am trying to sit nearer to a corner cos my hb and i really very uncomfortable sitting in the middle...

disposable panties also got MATERNITY ones ah... i dont know what size of panties i should get loh... especially if i go buy maternity ones.. cos the size like varies.. many times i wanna get some shorts or pants at maternity places.. then end up cannot fit well... even tighten to the smallest. wear liao very uncomfortable... like want to drop want to drop, or else like no backside... then my frens and hb say wear liao damn ugly... ):

flower4,
if you've stained your bedsheet with blood, of course must get the nurses to help you to change, cos the bedsheet will look disgusting, whether there's a waterproof sheet or not.

flower
i see...actually unless scared cold lor...i prefer to wear nothing down there other than underwear, easier for us to change the pad. pulling up and down the pants, i find it mafan oso esp after delivery...

ya actually make sense oso to wear dress pyjamas with buttons...easier to change pad and oso nt 4getting make breast feeding easier juz by unbuttoning...imagine if don't like wearing top and pants clothing for the convenience of pad changing and haf to lift up dress everytime to breast feed bb and reveal panty, hahaha...

sandwich

if i don't rem wrongly, the hospital actually provide a blue disposable mat that are place on our bed. we juz haf to make sure that our bum are lying on tat so that the bedsheet don't always get stained... bt if really kenna stained then no choice they haf to change oso la... maybe different hospital has different ways of handling this kind of situation bah...

i actually buy those blue disposable mat home so i don't stained my own bedsheet too. It comes in a pack of 10's. can be use as diaper mat oso since bb poo poo so many times in the beginning...sometimes even dirty the bedsheets...if really get dirty can juz dispose.
