Hey all...

wanna ask one silly thing ah...

(1)After we deliver, we will bleed right... n the average is about how many weeks???

(2)How many pads do we have to prepare ourselves for the flow?

(3)Besides Kotex brand, what other kinds of maternity pads are there? Which is better?

(4)After 2 weeks, the flow will be decreased, can we use the night pads instead of maternity ones???

(5)How come i saw the maternity ones (KOTEX adhersive) are 28cm long then those normal night ones are longer than this????

-.- Very silly right, but i still have to ask cos i really very sotong! LOL!

(2)How many pads do we have to prepare ourselves for the flow?
<font color="0077aa">my fren told me to prepare abt 2 weeks supply first. Let say 1 day u use 4 pads, 2 weeks will be 56 pads lo.. I tink can just get ard 40 maternity pads first. Cos the flow will become lesser, then can use normal night pads liao. Even if u feel not enough, can always go out buy de or ask hubby buy lo.</font>

(3)Besides Kotex brand, what other kinds of maternity pads are there? Which is better?
<font color="0077aa">There's Pureen's Madame Maternity Pads...Heard that this is quite widely used among mothers. There should be others ard but not sure liao. My fren also say can actually use Sofy's 40.5cm Night Pads. May need to change a bit more often cos not as thick as maternity pads.</font>

besides kotex, i saw pureen (at kiddy palace) and mothercare brand
my mom &amp; fren (recent gave birth) advised me can use those that i usually use for nite and heavy flow (must choose very long one too).. another relative advise better use maternity type esp for first few days..
confused leh.. but i'm preparing to wear disposable undies during the first few weeks liao.. anyway hosp will provide us with maternity pads to use..(extra paymt)
and i bought the underpads to be placed on the bed when at home.. (like those in hosp)

Hahaha... thanks for the explanation.... i think i will get 2 weeks of supply for the sofy's night ones.. and 2 weeks maternity ones... heee.... but then again i only saw KOTex brand and never really see other brands.. maybe i never notice???? LOL! I was thinking of using disposable panties too loh... cos i don't think first few weeks i can squat in the toilet to wash my panties! But then i never try if disposable panties and maternity pads secure anot???? -.-

me will be getting disposable panties too. They say we should avoid touching water during confinement. Duno how true la. cannot touch water, hands dirty how? then wana touch bb how? cannot wash? haha.. but tink disposable panties will be more convenient for us la. I've nv tried it also but I guess it should be ok ba. I read a lot of mummies using it also.

errr.. why must wear maternity pads huh? i never worn them before leh? its so uncomfortable. n i hated it the moment nurse put on for me after birth. once they get me back to my ward i sure bath n change out of those loops!

When to gyn on Sat for my appt. I got a shock when gyn mention bb is around 1.8kg huh?? so big or i heard wrongly. But he says is normal well so far my total weight gain is 6.5kg. hehe ate durian on fri to curb my cravings yummy.

Regarding BW waxing. How to maintain or take care after waxing. I scared of ungrowth esp near the vagina area. I heard that we need to scrub to prevent undergrowth ? Down there how to do it ? Ouch...I always shave the top part never the below lor. So when hair grow back won't be picky lah, so down there shouldn't itch right ? Sorry so many questions cause last time my colleague when. She when totally bare, she say there very sore lor

Sanitary Pads
When i had my #1, i brought 1 packet but did not finish cause hospital will provide 1 packet. I don't like the thick pad . Like wearing diapers so i use my usual pads after i reach home from the hospital. I use the overnight ,heavy flow one.

re: pads,
i hated the maternity pads too. thick and uncomfortable. only wore those in the hospital cos it was provided. changed back to my normal night pads (sofy) once i was discharged. this pad topic is a bit strange, cos i haven't wore a pad for so many months! mummies who are planning to fully breastfeed, please note that your periods might not come back regularly after you've given birth. for mine, menses came back after 3 months, but remained light and irregular until 9 months after i gave birth. have a girlfriend whose menses came back 16 months after she gave birth.

have something minor to share with you regarding nail clippers, since you haven't bought it yet. my fav baby brand is nuk (looks like a mini version of an adult nail clipper). tried pigeon before, but the safety device kept interfering with my clumsy hands, so i had a hard time cutting bb's nails with pigeon clippers.

dun tink i'll like the loop ones provided by the hopital. Will use those normal stick on ones.

But now as we're talking abt it, tho' maternity pads are thick, dun tink they are long enough for back flow hor? During confinement, we'll be resting most of the time right? hmm.. tink i wont be getting any maternity pads afterall ba. My fren gave me 1 big pack of unused, unopened ones. Just use them can liao. Then will just buy more Sofy 35 &amp; 40.5cm night pads ba.

My gynae appt is this fri. Cant wait to see her too! But hope she's not putting on too much weight again. She was alr 1.128kg at ard 27 weeks the last time I saw her on the 15th June. But gynae says she's fine la.

still on leave today... sigh with the no of H1N1 increasing exponentially, I heard my colleague say there will be contingency plan and the team wll be split into 2.. hope i dont have to be the oine moving to tampines... but according to my colleague, my boss has the intention of relocation me and her to tampines. I definitely don't want to go cos it's very inconvenient! Any idea if i can check with MOM on such issues?

regarding pads, my frens told me to just get those night used long ones will do. So i've bought the sofy ones. Not necessary to get the maternity ones lah cos they say it's very thick and can make u walk like clown leh... haha

wow u gals are really fast leh. I have not bought all the stuff needed!! so definitely have not started packing anything lah... my gynae told me to pack only in my 36 wks leh

I tink unless u can wait for her to arrange another pick up at Jurong(but duno if she will be arranging one since the Jurong pick-up is over), then that delivery would be free. Or u can also check with her if she would be passing by Jurong station lo. If yes, then its free also.

If u self request to deliver to 1 address on a specific date, this one must pay. Whether its 1 order or many orders, the delivery charge is the same.But if u can get many orders, can split the delivery charge ma. I tink she does delivery everyday.

yah lor even wo the loops the pads r thick n not long enuf not to mention not comfortable. i use my modess or sofy nite pad but gotta change it v often during the first 3 days. mine usually never last more than 1 week. after 1 week usually just some discharge.

lying flat on bed has more cons than baby kicking...so i think u can still try to sleep on sides la...
else blood flow will be affected when we sleep on sides..

how long did you gals stay in the clinic when you did your GD test? i'll be at the clinic at 8.30am. wondering if i can finish by 12noon cos have something on in the afternoon.

i already bought the underpads during my 1st shopping spree to kiddy palace.. so im gonna use that 1st.. stained liao then just throw lo.. the waterproof sheets keep for later use :p

bb kicking so continuously.. difficult to fall back to sleep wor.. lol.. i even tried laying 135 degrees.. still kick till i fall back flat till 180deg, then he stopped...
 
another problem with the kotex maternity pads is that they're wing-less, and i hate wing-less pads. i'll rather wear sofy night pads and change them frequently if bleeding is heavy. in fact, i changed my pad everytime i visited the toilet to pee (about 2-3 hours maybe?). cos after peeing i will use the shower hose to wash up my privates to prevent infection, and since i feel clean, i might as well wear a new undergarment and pad thereafter. i didn't use disposable undergarments at all. cotton is so much more comfortable and snug. i think the adhesive from the pads won't stick too well on disposable material, but i don't really know.

U can get those at Kiddy palace too. Saw so many different brands and types when i was there. But my mum suggested to get the scissors type so easier to handle and won't hurt bb, so i got the scissor one instead.

yah the maternity ones seems too thick and like i mentioned earlier, will make u walk like a clown... hahaha. My mum also agree to let me bathe but like urs cannot stay in the bathroom too long lor... must be chop chop...

my bb also like to kick non-stop whn i lie sideways but i don't have problems getting to slp leh.. too tired to bother about her kicks already... hehe

i agree with u. in fact at nite after i finish feeding the baby every 2-3 hrs i will head to bathroom and change my pad and clean up.

i also dun use nail clipper on newborn even though i got so many babies already. their nails r so tiny im just so afraid i might accidentally cut their skin! scissors is much easier to handle.

haha.. u wana know what i dreamt? 2 days ago, got 2 bad dreams, 1 was abt hubby's bro who came to borrow lots of $$ n hubby gave him everything we had in our savings. I was mad cos bb's coming, Im not working n we dun have much $ le. (em, his bro died stillborn at 37/38 weeks in his mum's stomach). The other was abt bb.. But cant remember the details liao...

Last night, i dreamt that I used a "kit" to test when I was goin to give birth(haha.. real life have meh?) Then it happen to be today, told hubby n we got ourselves ready to the hospital. When we reached, he told me he going off liao. say he goin to work. Then I made noise while in pain.. Then it turned out that he actually dun want me le.. leaving me n bb there.. I cried till i woke up lo. Msged him to not do that when the time comes... so silly... tink its really like, 日有所思，夜有所梦！haiz..

So good... I actually bought the lemongrass confinement shower gel from a spree here. its suppose to replace the herbs de. Told hubby abt it.. then he say still must use the herbs.. *faintz*...
