it really depends how long the pump is used... if used for a long time they will sell cheaper... but it is definitely cheaper than medela lor....

For those who use the booger sucker, which type did you buy? the one which you need to use your mouth to suck out the "pi" or the one which looks like a pipette?
By the way, my baby is nearly 8 weeks, go PD also no medication for such young babies, right?

u mean the nasal aspirator? i'm not seen one that uses mouth to suck, is there such a thing? i'm using the pigeon one, comes with like a suction pump.
i think go PD got leh. my friends bb, she got some nasal infection, i suppose like a cold ilke that? and i think PD gave her some nose-drop thingy to put into the bb's nose. but oh mine... the baby hates it and was crying and screaming away.

Mmm... then u try to latch more first ba...to up the supply.. but if u latch and pump together will increase ba.
my initial days only 10-15ml og EBM loh..after latch..so pathetic..
i need to pump 3 times to get 45ml ( her feed amt that time)
but alas... now i can yield 120-170ml every morning.. so i'm satisfied with that..
but i've not even used any frozen EBM since CL left..
so i keep asking myself am i wasting money on the milk bags???

yest i went NTUC.. buy zip loc big, small med..for all the different uses..

kiki, my GP comment i got lots of blocked duct, thats y i got serious engorgement leading to swollen/red breasts.
anw my BB fell asleep when latching on.so i decide to put her back in cot. but when i was pumping half way, she woke up again. i think she is not used to sucking my nipple. She used too much strength,ended up tired & fell asleep.
Maybe i shld try to pump before latching. ;p

yes, press the ball then insert and let go. read the instructions behind lah! keke... after use must sterilise one hor. its quite effective for me i think, so far managed to suck out when my gal got things stuck in the nose. but i don't dare go too deep, so usually can suck out partial then i try to use tissue to wipe or pull out the rest instead of keep using the aspirator to suck n suck. i scared later my gal grow up got big nose! ahaha..

yeah, i noticed my bb also like uses alot of strength when sucking at my breast. sometimes she will sound like she got asthma like that, when she is trying to position herself or find the nipple. her mouth will open big big and anyhow aim, while at the same time like gasping for air! at first i thought so cute, after a while, sounds quite scary. keke...

hi all.. damn tired with a cranky and chao guan baby. She wants to be carried almost all the time and once you put her down, she will wail her lungs out. ARGH. I need to get her out of this bad habit soon! She is only 19days old!

Slings: If the VCD/DVD doesn't work, try searching on youtube for your particular sling. I just searched for ring sling and going to try that way hehe..

so in the end used the pigeon tweezer to "giap" it out..
both are tedious work..
a visit to the GP few wks ago, the GP gave us a bottle of nasal spray to clean bb's nose if we find bb's snorting breathing..
spray into bb's nostrils, to make him sneeze out the dirt... lol

Seems like everyone is latching their babies on for feeding. Wonder if there's someone who can advise me how to re-introduce my breast to my baby. Any tricks/tips. Today again only 4 mins of suckling then she stops totally !!! Even I tease her mouth with my nipple (milk oozing out). Still dont want to open.

hi all, my BB jus rejected my nipple after 15 mins of latching. end up i ask my mil to carry her, so tt i can pump. so stressful seeing BB crying.
End up i pump 60ml and gave to MIL to bottle feed and guess wat. my mil said my BB stop drinking & left 10ml. (my mil was feeding BB with my 60 ml while i concurrently pump) Now my BB intake is 100ml per feed.
Now i am also quite stressful. if later ard 11 plus, she started to fuss....& my supply is limited. i have to resort back to FM.....
End up i pump 60ml and gave to MIL to bottle feed and guess wat. my mil said my BB stop drinking & left 10ml. (my mil was feeding BB with my 60 ml while i concurrently pump) Now my BB intake is 100ml per feed.
Now i am also quite stressful. if later ard 11 plus, she started to fuss....& my supply is limited. i have to resort back to FM.....

my PD prescribed 2 medication, one for runny nose, and the other for phlegm... each time take 1 ml.... also the nose drop thingy also....
she said when babies are young, flu and cough must be taken seriously, just in case bronchitis...
so i think u might want to visit the PD to check out on your baby

Yea same problem with my girl, when I wait till she is famished. She will choose to cry out loud, scream instead of suckling my nipple. What I did recently is that I feed her EBM, 1/2 the amount or even 1/3 the amount that she usually drinks then I attempt to latch her on. Even this she only latch on for 4-5mins.

Yea me too ! I hope my supply will go up after taking Fenugreek + Fish soup. Sometime I wish I am like some of the mummies here, who have heaps of milk for their baby.

ur daily supply of 700-900ml is actually pretty good! but unfortunately (or fortunately) ur sam is a big eater! he is making up for the the fact that he was not born heavy lah, so now doing all the catch up!

my pd will tell u the opp lor. dun wait till baby is very hungry cos she might be too agitated and not willing to latch on. fill her up halfway first then she wont fight too much at the breast with u.
also, there is such thing called the medela SNS to help with moms who wish to relactate and moms with low milk supply who wish to introduce latch on.

my baby caught cough bug from his sister. he had blocked nose and was coughing and couldnt sleep well for few nites. his pd is too far away at mt e and i was too busy to travel so far to see her so brought him to nearby pd who prescribed med for him. but i wasnt comfortable to feed him med so early so i didnt feed him the med. i only used iliadin nose drop to relieve his nose congestion and he recovered on his own the next day or so.
im using the booger sucker from pigeon. have been using for my older kids as well. v useful esp for runny n wet mucous.

Does your bb cry/scream after she unlatches? If not, then maybe 4-5 mins is all she needs? And if you want to up your supply, a single pump is not enough. Dual pumping works so much better, and saves time as well.
I wasn't able to up my supply by much until I bought my dual pump. Then of course, have to do power pumping also lor.
