i think it's good to apply cos whole yr got 10% disc on regular price items...

also good if u are those that often missed out on sales by eg.isetan,robinson etc...

If you buy or going to buy from Kiddy Palace frequently, then the membercard is worthwhile. After baby is born, you need to get things like bottle washing liquid, detergen, wet wipes, diapers etc. Depending on if you really go to KP frequently or not. They have quite a handful of nett price items, which are not entitled for the 10% discount. Only those regular prices one get 10%.

If u can 'tahan' the contractions pain..go w/o epidural...in my case during my 1st..i dun think of the needle poking into me its the cost..but gyane said,i am too tense until cant 'open' so no choice but go for epidural..rather then straight to C sect...lucky for me no more suffering of the contractions and withing the next 4hrs...i gave birth....

I asked abt her post natal - $380/7 sessions/hr/+ 2 free bb massage.. if i remember correctly..
my colleague's wife tried her before and it gd.. his wife slim down.

Epidural
my fren whom just gave birth in may.. advised me to get epidural shot - "enjoy the birth of bb not the pain of it.. "
in dilemma to opt for it or nt.. scared i cannot tahan the pain too.. then my colleague oso mentioned-if last min, u want to opt for epi, unluckily the anaesthetician might nt be in nearby hosp and reach u fast enough.. then u be in more pain...

Dun worry about being awake during csec with epi and seeing everything. They'll put a cloth sheet on a stand at your chest area so basically you can't see the op. But can hear everything that's going on. Won't feel pain, will feel pressure when they help to push the bb out. It's not like carry bb out lor, still must have external help (ie nurses, gynae, sometimes anaesthesist) to push downwards so bb will come out. If hb is there with you, HE will be able to see the op. So if he's the squeamish type, better tell him not to look. My hb said it was v bloody, but thank goodness he's ok with it. The feeling of having bb in your arms when first out is indescribable. Jia you!

At first purchase, might be getting the Babysafe 28x52 mattress(UP:$195) ba. Unless Robinsons have the storewide 20% disc+5%cash rebate for card members then i get from Robinsons lo.. If so, then will go down to Kiddy Palace to take a closer look at the things i would be needing along the way for the yr. See if they are regluar priced items or nett items.. See if worth or not worth ba.. Then will decide from there.

Anyone goin Robinsons lately? Can help me check the disc. available for the mattress? so hou4 lian3 pi2 hor? heez..

I totally agree with princessxiaomei, it's NOT the school, but the teachers that are most important, in my view. Okay, to be frank, all those "branded" centres definitely adhere to the highest standard possible by the MYCS guidelines. And of course they try to get good teachers. But the genuine love for kids from the teachers is not something you can tell upon hiring a person. I would suggest that you should definitely pay the centre a visit, and see for real how they inteact with the kids. Or at least, ask to talk to the teachers who are going to handle your kids. Play a naughty trick as in after your 1st visit, go back some other day, without notifying them, and pretend you have more questions to ask, take that opportunity (random check) to see the "real colour" of the teachers. Also observe how the teachers communicate with each other, as the same with any work place, only good relationship between colleagues can create a good environment, if you sense the teachers are not willing to help out with other each type, then don't think they can create a good environment for the kids. If you can't decide, visit more centres, by comparing the centres, you should be able to tell which one you like more.

Again, frankly, by the MYCS guideline, the max teacher to infant ratio is 1:5. So don't expect that someone will be accompanying your baby for the whole day. There are times, often, whereby all babies decided to cry together at the same time. So the teachers have to take care of those urgent ones first and left some to continue crying until their hands are free. If you can't accept this fact, then infant care centre is not a choice for you. If you are concern that your baby will be "ignored" at times, then go for nanny service, that is 1:1 (considering you get a good nanny).

ya i been experiencing it quite a while.
last night i attended Mrs Wong's class. She shared with us y we will get leg cramps.

1 of the point she mention seems quite informative.

Becos My leg cramps always happen at night. so it might due to aircon (my legs too chilled). She suggest wearing socks when sleeping. Last night i tried, it seems to work.

She also mentioned, swimmers always got leg cramps due to the chill in pools.

i've being getting leg cramps ever since 1st trimester.. esp at nite time.. i would get cramps and shout pain and scare/ woke up hubby up. But now the interval of getting cramps is lesser compared to 1st tri. maybe it will increase again in 3rd tri for me... u will need to massage ur leg to ease the tightness..

Did you give bb plain water through the milk bottle ? I read that before our BF supply is establish best not to give pacifer or bottle first. Cos they mention bb will get confused and refused the breast later.

So when you BF in the nite , did you lay down or sit up ? Do we need lots of pillows for support etc.

Got a question here, after birth, do we and how long does the bleeding last? Heard from a friend that his wife bleeds after birth and he recommended me to get help to look after bb thry out the night so that i will be able to rest better. Never heard that from my friends before. Any idea?

I had the cramp yest morning cos i was feeling very warm(altho in aircon room) hence, i didnt cover myself with the comforter. Last night I did, but still got the leg cramps.. Will try the socks method tonight..

Btw. Can someone advise me on mattresses? I've got a cousin who passed my a spring mattress and one latex one for the cot. Is it advisable to buy a new mattress or are using hand-me downs fine?

BB mattress - for my thinking get a new one put on top of the old one.. coz not sure of the condition!! Did the bb vomit on the mattress b4 or urine on it b4...

I tink it really depends on the original owner and condition of the mattress.. If its not being taken care of and those with alot of stains n moulds.. of cos advisable to get a new one.

It also depends on urself.. if ur comfortable with using hand me downs.. For me, I will get a new one.

Latex mattress is said to be better than spring mattress for babies.. U can try Kidzloft for those normal latex mattresses.. can use the 50% disc voucher. Just bring the printed voucher which can be found in their web, ur wife n gynae appt card to be entitled.

I'll be getting the Babysafe natural latex mattress... But its a little costly. 28x52 inch is selling at $195 before disc. To me, I tink its worth the investment la..
