(2009/08) August 2009 MTBs

Jul, my baby also. Must bao bao n walk. No walk cannot. She will "pretend" to smile sweetly to anyone close to her cot. After the person play with her for less than 5min, she will start to whine n raise her arms out wanting to bao bao. Bao bao for around 30sec, she will whine again, want walk walk. Pamper too much liao, cannot undo her habit now. Sigh... ...

My gal is not interested in talking, she only complains. She is busy learning to crawl. hahaha. Very funny coz she'll lift her butt up and try to reach for the things in front of her and can only move a little bit backwards instead of forwards.

mich

hehe, FTWM has lunch breaks! SAHM doesn't have this luxury. Even during her sleeping hrs, I have to squeeze in my lunch, prepare the food for dinner. I miss my home cooked food, so decided to cook something tonight.

babaja, not so soon, my bb 2.5 mths old oso keep crying, drink milk cry, then at 3.5mths old can see on gum hv the shape on 2 teeth at the center lower incisors teeth, then at his 16 weeks old, the 2 teeth cut out of gum.

mashy:hee at least she's trying...lucas very lazy le....nothing of above :p

only wake up smile n smile :p

he's been puttign his fists in his mouth so probs teething too.

wreen:erm.....so in case we're getting(tats if its above 10 tins) do u wan it? able to meet up at harbourfront or vivo to collect?

Mich
Whew...so my girl is not the only one who is talking less.. Was getting a bit worried. She is either busy putting her rattle/ teether/ hanky/ thumb/fingers into her mouth or busy smacking her lips. She does whine a lot more until she is being carried and like BB's baby must walk walk cannot just sit or stand.

Btw r most of u starting baby off with the happy bellies rice cereal first? Was at the harbourfront organic food shop and the guy there was telling me that the most popular i.e. lowest rate of rejection is Earth's best followed by healthy times follwed by bellamy's and happy bellies is last leh...

FTWM or SAHM when u r home, is taking care of kids. especially when back fm work in the evening, the time like move damn fast, tis year my elder son in Pri 2, i hv to ensure he do his sch hmewk, will let hb to play with bb. another challenge year for me, hopefully the elder one dun drive me mad!!!

jul, thanks, going to stop stage 2 now .

re: teeth
my bb salivate alot and keep biting her fingers and anything she can grab hold of. No sign of teeth on her gums though ...

edric will call "mama" when he need help!!! shout out "milk" for his 1st feed in the morng, usu between 7am to 7.45am, especially during weekend, all of us overslept.
he is oni chatty when we play with him together, leave him alone on playmat or walker, he will explore till he find boring, then he will scream for us, nowsday he raise his scream...maybe he discover his voice..hahaha

Nat had her 1st taste of mashed sweet potato and carrot yday.
She like it and keep sticking her tongue out for more. As she has no teeth now, the way she "eats" is to stick her tongue in n out of her mouth, just like a lizard...till the mashed food gets dissolve....
Had fun feeding her and watching her expression....

Ooh ooh and she also flip all by herself yday.
Had flipped b4 with a little help from me....
Took her awhile as she struggle to flip over her upper body while her lower body is already over.
I was so proud and excited, she got infected by me too and keep smiling =)))
*she always attempt to flip when she is without her pampers, perhaps its lighter then*

april

yah, time move so fast. I just realise that I'm enrolling my boy next yr for Pri school already! So fast! Those who need to do PV or join alumni, better get on with it!

i already thought of which primary and secondary school i can send my kids to ... good neighbourhood schools .... **kiasu mummy**

Weishy
yah lor that's apparently according to his sales figures I guess n feedback from mummies about whether their babies like the taste or not. Cos he placed the brands on his shelf in order of popularity leh. Hmmm..so now dunno which brand to start with..

Mashy
my girl is the same.. Loves to suck and lick her toes and whatever comes within striking distance of her tongue

those who bought the neck floats for their babies, can advise which ones are better? The more ex one by mambo (handle on top) or the cheaper one by mummykian (handle below)?

joeey

haha, i only confirmed pri sch coz it's our alma mater. As for Sec sch, it's up to their capability already. We can't help them with that.

Mashy

Ya..i was thinking of getting also, but i haf no idea which 1 is better.. any feedbacks??? primary school wor..still far away........ i was also kiasu and pondering..den i feel..aiya..still long.... slowly la!

Dolce, at least ur baby has her first flip. Mine dont hv. wuwuwu... PD the 4th month jab asked me if baby flipped, next month 5 Feb taking her for 6th month jab, dont know how to tell my PD.

BB
every bb different ma..
ur bb can talk first so mayb slower in other case..
my mum used to tell me say if bb talk 1st will walk later, then walk 1st will talk later.. but dunno how true..

wow.. some bb here are talking already.
sad.gif
mine simply just blabbing. but i realise these two days she likes to raise up her butt. i suspect she preparing for crawling.

dolce,
gd job nat nat! soon she will be flipping non-stop.

joeey,
haha...i also thinking where should we move to so that we are nearer to the pri sch for my 3 yos gal. she starting her pre-nursery on wed. hope she will not cry too much!

ktmum/mashy,
my gal too. sucking thumb, toes...anything she can reach she will pop into her mouth.

SAHM/FTWM,
i guess both equally tough jobs. to be more precise, being a mommy is a tough job.

Baby Ja

mine too! he raise his butt and starts squirming and pushes.. sometimes he moves backwards instead of forward... then suddenly he flips over..

jul
Hahaha ... Ovann likes to pull the bottom part of the bumper, den cover his face with it.

Ovann also likes to shout. It happened when he was 2 mths plus. It's like he suddenly found out that it's fun to shout and from then on, he's always been shouting or squealing when he's excited. I guess they find it fun bah
happy.gif

It's so interesting to see their developments as the days go by. Last time he still gong gong, just stare at the ceiling when he wake up. Now i have to crept into the room to avoid letting him seeing me but his eyes very sharp now .. anything that moves, even at the corner of his eyes he also can beo dio. Hahaha ...

Re: FTWM or SAHM
Do your hubbies help out to take care of bb when they are back home? For me, my hubby 'help me' to take care of bb only for abt 20mins when i have my dinner. After dat he pass back to me. Then i will have to feed bb's last milk for the day, wipe him down and prepare for him to sleep. Hubby just nua at sofa ......... #_#

Peg
i suspect so coz he's like pushing his feet but when i place him on the mat, he stop..

kitty
i think most bb like to move backward first.. hahaha!!!

pegsfur
my HB will help when he came back home unless he got alot of work to do.. he will feed bb the last milk and change his diaper coz usually by that time, i already in my dreamland.. thats abt 12am..

Baby doesnt flip
Thanks ladies but I'm still worried that it may be a physical test criteria when baby goes for her 6th month check up. Other than flipping, she can even get up in sitting position by just holding onto my one finger on each hand.

seems like many of the babies here are showing signs of teething soon, sucking everything that goes near their mouth. But I observed that for Sophie she is no longer to suck her thumb and wants to put her beanie bag, blanket, toys into her mouth to bite instead. Is this also a sign of teething? I tried to touch her gum, but dun feel anything there leh.

SL,BB,
wah your babies can start to talk now. Impressed!!

ktmum, Jul
These days Sophie also seems less interested in talking and babbling and prefers to shout and complain esp at night when we leave her alone in her cot to sleep. I think it's her way of protesting and will keep shouting and shouting for us. If we ignore her, it will escalate into crying if we don't go and see her. Wondering how to make her sleep earlier. Until now she will drink milk to sleep (I latch her on). Last night had a hard time calming her down as she cried for 2 hours from 8:30 to 10:30. is it posible that babies at this age can still be coliky?

Baby Flipping
Sophie is still not showing any signs of flipping leh. Not when she's on her tummy or her back. There was a few times when she'll twist her body, but stopped doing that now. Suspect that she sits too much when she's in the infnat care so no chance to be on her back or tummy to want to flip. Now whe she leave her on her playmat for more than 15-20 mins, she'll complain. But when we sit her in her swing or bumbo, she'll be quiet.

Pegsfur,
For me, my hubby quite hands on so will help to take care of baby. So far, he will play with her, change her, feed her, bathe her (only twice), read books to her, carry her. I appreciate it very much as I can also have own time to rest, do housework and just take a nap on the weekends.

Pegsfur,

my hubby will play with my bb, change him and bath him.. feeding part is me cos i will latch him.. den after that hubby will rock him to slp... while hubby is rockin him i will be keeping the bm i pump at work and washing den sterilising it... forgot to add on... bb's bedtime is 7pm.. so when i reach home after picking bb is ard 630 already.. trying to cultivate a good habit for him..

Ktmum:eek:ic...maybe its not accessible yet .usually healthy times.

BB
my boy also cannot flip at all, sometimes he will try but most of the time think he is too lazy to try it even.. but i am fine with that, at least i don't need to wake up in the night just to flip him back, so hope when he can flip he can flip both ways ba..

he babbles a lot but cannot talk like some babies here who can even call papa mama. haiz what to do, cant force also..

FTWM or SAHM
I am FTWM but working from home. So guess my situation is even worse, no lunch break, no kpo session with colleagues, no off day, and no help from hubby after work or during weekends/holidays, need to work and have meeting most of the time, but also need to do grocery shopping and cook sometimes (cuz my maid dunno how to cook meat but hubby likes that), and worst thing is on certain days when baby had his last feed at 9pm, he refused to sleep and i have to go for my conf call at 10pm, so while i was having meeting can hear him crying his lungs out from another room... heart pain sia..

but all these are going to end soon, either i am going to get another job and start going back to office, or after Mar I become a full time SAHM when i am being retrenched.. guess most likely i will get a new job soon ba, cant afford not to work sia, will then let hubby quit as long as my pay can support the family.. so sianz, even want to have #2 also dunno how to manage baby and work at the same time de.. haiz..

pegsfur,
if your hb doesn't help with his bb, he's losing out to you, losing out to bonding time with his bb. bb will be closer to Mummy if Daddy doesn't want to spend time. Tell him that there's a cause and effect.

re: colick
yes, i think babies now can still be colicky.

ytd hubby realise that bb struggles and whines when he carry him.. den hubby got abit emo and said is it cos i nvr rock him to slp in the middle of the nite thats y he is rejecting me... den i told him ya lo.. so now u better wake up when i ask u to.. haha

Wah ... all your hubbies so good huh, very hands-on and proactive in taking care of bb. Mine is just 'helping me' to take care of bb, and not actively wanting to be involved.

janice
Your bb sleeps so early?

felicia
Looks like u r having a hard time as well. Can't yr maid help to take care of crying bb when u r in conferencing?

joeey
That's wat i thot too. But the thing is that bb seems to want to play with daddy during that 20mins hubby take care of him. It sort of made me jealous and i feel that i'm doing all the hard work looking after bb everyday for every moment, bb still wants daddy ... hiaz ... felt abit imbalanced.

pegsfur,
if bb is tired, hungry, poopoo, colicky, bb will want someone who can comfort him, you'll be the one who knows his style, his wants.
Playing is easy, taking care of bb is the difficult job.

pegsfur
haiz that's the sad thing, my baby will still cry. I think that is because i am the only one really looking after him day and night since he was born. Last time even my mother also only help out during the day but not at night, so my boy will cry for my comforting most of the time when he needs to sleep, but when he is in good mood he can happily play with my maid de..

recently my mil has been complaining that my boy recognize pple, i was like no lor that's not his fault, even my hubby or maid cannot manage him because they are not spending enough time with him as compared to me lor, then my mil everytime tell my boy, dun let you see your mummy okay, see your mummy you want her carry then you cry again.. so when they are here to visit us i got to hide one corner if not my mil will start her theory of not letting my boy see me again, chiam.... So i was so fedup and just let my boy cry lor, then she pass him to my hubby, then hubby pass him to my maid, then my maid dare not to pass back to my mil so trying her very best to coax my boy, then finally my fil will say, let mummy carry lah he just wants mummy, then i can touch my boy..

my boy also prefers to play with daddy, maybe getting sick of my face liao haha, so he laughs and babbles a lot when hubby has time for him, but as long as he wants his milk or wants to sleep, he dun care about who is his daddy liao.. so think it is normal ba, maybe they just have less time with daddy so they like to play more with them..

felicia,
working from home is tough, it's like working 16 hours a day but at least you get to see your bb. Can you ask ur mum or inlaws to help ? You're willing to let your hubby quit and stay at home if your pay is good ? I've never thought of it but you've just sparked an idea in me. Worth considering ....

weishy, can i order 1 brown rice 1 oatmeal ? i can meet during lunch on thursday/friday. When's the expiry date ah ?

Joia and Felicia. Thanks for the info. At least my baby is not alone. Hope to hear good news on their flipping very soon.

Hi Ladies

Just to let all of you know, I arrived safely with my boys in Oz. Kai caught the flu bug in the plane hardly we had any sleep as one iranian couple just leave their baby girl in the bassinet to cry throughout the flight. I was thankful that Ray slept through without disturbing the passengers.

Lots of passengers were unwell and we have been battling with Kai's fever for the past 2 nights.

Does teething cause loose stool?

my mil also about the same.. say dun always stay in the room with bb.. next time he dun wan other people oni u. can let the maid take care in the afternoon.. but bb only get to sleep in the dining room leh.. once my fil back, i got to bring him up to my room coz he will either on the tv very loud or smoke.. then is like waking him up when he is sleeping halfway
