Pegsfur, my mother-in-law loves mahjong, weekend very noisy, many friends n relatives come play mahjong. Mahjong noisy, their voices also very very loud. When baby less than 3 months, I told my mil baby body still weak better hv lesser house visitors. After 3 months, she plays like crazy. I initially brought my baby to my room, but then I think the only way is to train her to get use to noises. So now the room earthquake, she also sleeps.
My mil used to sneak into my room when my hb n i were in the bathroom. Hmmmm... lock the room door lor. Knock door at weird hr dun answer, phone rings at weird hr dun answer... after one year, I m living in my own world. Sometimes I can be in my room with baby for more than 5hrs n my mil will call my room to ask me to eat dinner. Hmmm... i want my privacy very much so even i go to work, I lock my room door.
To live harmony together must find a way to solve it, cannot tolerate n tolerate, will go crazy.

piggytoh, my baby also the same. Want to play with the bottle. She will pull out by herself or pull my fingers to control the bottle. Pull out n put back in n pull out n put back in till she finishes the milk or water... sometimes she ends up milk/water all over her face n neck. Guess hv to patiently wait till she is bored of the bottle game. Hopefully she doesnt be like ur baby discover the fun of water...

my boy's playing with his jumperoo too! sometimes i let him bounce on the cushion at times cos i was afraid that the floor will be too hard for him and it looks like he has like stamping and bouncing hard..... oh he is tip toeing too!
i rem the instruction advise to raise level is feet is flat...

Btw, u said u used a normal diaper for kyler when swimming, wouldn't the diaper get heavy or 'inflated' when in contact with the water?

I dun think she's lonely. She's doing all these for show only. We've been at loggerhead for so many years, surely u can't just change yr attitude 360 deg all of a sudden rite, esp for someone like her with such a strong character.

personally i dun care abt the early by 3 weeks thing. i mean, when bb is younger, 3 weeks matters a lot. but when bb gets older, the impact is less liao. i mean, when in primary sch, u wudn't still go by 3 weeks early n time everything accordingly right? but that's my personal opinion lah

cos my bb is on FM if no water i scare his poo poo will be hard n he drink really little most of the time jus play with it...ya hopefully they will get over it soon..

maybe i use pet pet n the surface is waterproof kind of material so maybe not too bad?

jul> hehe. maybe i'll ignore the 6mth thingy n let baby try some solid. so tempted to see how he'll react to food other than milk. he olways c why i have food in different pattern, from appetiser, to main course to dessert, while he only have milk either latch on or bottle. so he'll c in amazed at how we eats initially. now whenever it's our meal time, he'll sit there nicely until the food arrives, he goes cranky!!
i think u shuld increase feed to drag feeding interval. else if he dun gets enugh milk for the day, he'll wake up at nite for milk. i tried feeding him more in the day, now after his dreamfeed at 1am, he's able to sleep till 8+ liaos

zac also dislike drinking water, so now we add 1/4 teaspoon of delrosa (rosehip syrup) Vit C to 30ml of water, and he slurps it up.

he's now 4mths (corrected age), and he's weaning slowly also - he dislikes being fed by spoon, regardless of milk or cereal. so it was not the cereal he doesn't like. these few days, he seems quite ok with the cereal despite making it quite thick n clumpy - maybe becos got texture. he gums it up. thk goodness, at least it's easier for my mum to feed him when i get back to work.
he does make a mess though - or maybe becos i dun know how to feed, but he gets his hands in his mouth, and cereal all over his hands, face, and he managed to projectile spit it out as well - so i also get splattered. duhz.
any suggestions to feed with less mess? I am using a jane activa chair - so the padding is not the type that is wipe clean either.
Swimming
for those who bring bb out to swim, think shd wear swim diapers for the cleanilness of the pool, incase bb do poop.
normal diapers will absorb water and pull baby down, so not very safe.
btw dun wear swim diapers till you are near the pool, cos swim diapers dun absorb so much urine. zac wet his stroller pad thru with swim diapers.

we bought zac a walker last couple of weeks and he can move backwards - he moves around the whole living room on his own power, and he's fascinated by the things around him. manages to keeo him occupied for more than 30min. yeah!

agree with you abt the premature age thing, when bb is younger, it matters, but when bb hits 4-5 years old, even the very early premmies will have caught up with the normal children.
as long as bb hits milestones and developmental stages on time, then no need to worry about corrected age once past the stage they can walk.
zac is 5 week premature but he already catch up with other kids his age in terms of weight n height. but in terms of milestones, he's not so good at spatial motor skills. He's still slow to grab at things although his gross motor skills is strong.
just have to monitor and see as each baby is individual.

but u take note cos huggies size v small wor.. tt time my friend gave me 1 size L n it v v tight... actually if u bring ur gals to swim often can consider buyin the non disposable type more economic also... only$20+ the disposable 1 alr cost ard $17 n the size might out grow faster...

Renzo used to be fed every 3-4 hours and each time i gave him 150ml. Last week, we started to give him 180ml per feed, and he can finish all in 15mins after we switch to avent #3 teat. Because when he was on #2 teat, he can only finish 150ml in 25mins.
Now after giving him 180ml, we can feed him every 4-5 hours, although sometimes this 180ml can only last him 3hours 40 minutes, but maybe the next feed can last him 5 hours 40 minutes even, so plus minus a bit, we feed him in total 5 times a day instead of 6 times. And the total milk intake is in fact almost the same as before.
So here's the before and after comparison for your reference.

Before:
1. 8am - 150ml
2. 11am - 150ml
3. 330pm - 150ml
730pm shower
4. 8pm - 210ml (he usually finish 170 - 200ml)
5. 2am - 150ml
6. 5am - 150ml (he usually finish 90ml)
Total: 150+150+150+200+150+90 = 890ml +/-
Now here's what happens after we change to 180ml per feed
1. 8am - 180ml
2. 12pm - 180ml
3. 530pm - 180ml
830/900pm shower
4. 930pm - 210ml
5. 330/400am - 150ml
Total: 180+180+180+210+150 = 900ml +/-

So you can see the total intake is not much difference but we reduced the number of feeds from 6 to 5 and to me that's great improvement.
So i think you can give it a try, just give 180ml and if your boy can only finish 150ml, means he is not ready for 180 yet so just wait for a while more lor..

yep the huggies swim diapers is very small. i got the one size s/p for 7-12kg and it's already tight on zac.

Pegsfur,sneak into my room to put something which is least important. Hb n I chat a lot in bathroom (we exercise, steam hair, facial, spa, ...) we spend most time there. So worried dun know how much she had listened. Anyway, now no more lah. U cannot dislike her cos she is ur hb's mother. So must try all ways to be in harmony with her.

Today i tried and made cereal for my ger too but i find it very watery even thought i followed the instruction, 100ml with 3 tablespoon of cereal (Frisocream).
Did i do i wrongly it was very watery instead of sticky? 3 tablespoon means i must level the cereal and not make it like a mountain high right?
But why is it the cereal so watery?? ""scratching my head""

Felicia, China's barley has cooling properties, holland barley will cause phlegm, taste wise the holland barley taste better. I use china barley to boil barley water.

the guy from medical shop say to use 1 portion holland barley to 2 portions china barley. Like that it will taste better and yet not cause so much phlegm for picky babies. If your bb is ok with china barley, just use that.
