we had a nice surprise at midnight - there was a beautiful fireworks display from baby's nursery, just nice zac was awake and we carried him to watch, he was wirggling in excitement at the beautiful colours.

I put a nappy at the base more for poo accidents than food accidents. So far she's ok, didn't dirty the chair. She just guai guai open mouth big big to eat and make very kan cheong sound to hurry us. I bib her and add extra hanky at her neck to prevent her clothes from getting dirty. So long as the hands don't go into the mouth when feeding, i guess it shouldn't get that dirty.

actually i find huggies cutting gd for sam coz it's 'high cut', can accomodate his thighs. the material's also quite soft n smooth. but.. really thick lor. after pee, it seems to press on sam's genitals coz u know the pee for boys are all at the front mah. makes him v uncomf to have the weight there
 
Jul, my mil brought up 5 sons, all started solid after 6months. MIL said the body is stronger to take on solid after 6 months. This morning told her about secretly feeding baby yesterday n she still advise me to wait patiently for another month. Well, I m very stubborn lah so will feed baby today n tomorrow (anyway half teaspoon only)to see any body reaction first. Then will try to wait for one more month then feed baby more solid.

my mom also started all her kids (the 3 of us) &amp; all her grandchildren from 6mos onwards. better digestive system. she said too harsh for bb stomach at 4mos. anyway i'm not keen to start early too.

High chair:
I bought bumbo and peg perego high chair...
But for now I use bumbo, the yellow color very striking so won't sian..

Solid food:
at first I gave him the heniz organic mix veg n mix furits..
The furits one can make him poo.
*apple with berrie. N banana*
the vege ons make his poo very green...
*potato,sweet potato and pumpkin*
I oso bought the si sen powder to try but stop cause I find it abit troublesome cause need to cook de. Plus i'm only giving him 1teaspoon....
So now I bought the brand "only" oganic rice cereal mix in the milk no need to cook...

I bought it at this shop four seasons...
Got branch at suntec, taka, city square and great world.
I realize their healthy times jar pureen are 10cents cheaper... $2.40.. wad I saw is $2.50 in ntuc.. Den if you buy up to $200 in a month got 10% discount...
If any mummes interested can share the receipt so can hv offer....

pet pet is good for day use. but for me i use mamypoko during day time cos Zachary always poo in the afternoon. petpet at night cos poo most likely will leak if wear in the afternoon.

aiyoh pls dun tell/remind the old folks of this. i dun want sam to perk up his weight anymore! recently my wrist prob is back. left wrist really hurts when i lift heavy stuff or twist/bend it

Hehe... i just got my green bumbo seat too! seems like his thighs gonna be too fat to fit into the seat in a few months time! hahaha... he seems to lean forward too and wants to bit the seat!! hahaha....
wonder if i should get a high chair to put in my inlaws place then bumbo seat to be used at home...

ur MIL is really cool! mine keep asking me to feed my boy solids at 4 months.. but i refused.. ... hope she does not secretly feed him. haha...
 
My baby is starting to squirm around now...can kena squirm from one end of the bed to another... so scary.. plus he sometimes flip by himself.. i wonder when they will be able to crawl ... Does this mean we have to get those crawling mats for them already?

kiki, wow, your new IC will be very nice. When I changed mine, I looked damn crap cos I was suffering from horrible morning sickness, but had no choice and drag myself to take photo and to ICA.
 
Jul, my MIL didnt breastfeed at all. In fact, when she saw me going through the painful breastfeeding process initially, she advised me to give up. Maybe she knows I m stubborn, dont do will go do lah. She is considered open minded already, just that she has no princess of her own, so she super pamper my baby girl. End up now my baby girl likes to bully her.

i looked like crap too. coz hair untrimmed, tired, wearing singlet coz i forgot to put on my jacket for the photo!

nah.. dunno if i'll have #2. but main reason is hubs keeps fussing at me to sell them. very sian lor.

yes, it did affect.. supply was lower than usual and during expressing it felt kinda sensitive... i kept on hydrating myself then end up running to the restroom all the time!!! felt extremely fatigue too! do u all experience anything like tt?
 
Peg, it's true. My MIL said, u may think most babies eat solid at 4th month no problem. When hv problems, it will be very difficult to cure.

Kitty, my MIL is really cool but still need a lot of tolerance n patience to stay together. Many times I'll hv to think "what if I m a MIL?" to appreciate her kindness. So for those whose MILs insist feeding babies at 4th month, guess u hv no choice but to make the MIL happy lor. Feed a small portion for 3 days to see any reaction and move on to try other foods. Make a record on the food ur baby has tried n the dates. It will help when allergy occurs.

Jul, true lah. grandkids love to bully grandparents. The baby seems to know who can bully n who cannot now at 5 months. Babies r smarter now.

i using bumbo now also.. n i also let my bb try t sit in the ikea high chair n he seems ok to sit in it... btw my bb try to crawl be4 he flip...

my menses jus return also n i feel v tired... woman really not easy ...

actually i gotten my flat for 2years le juz that nv move in.. Been staying with my in-laws..
 
Think most of our babies coming 5 mths.
Last week i brot Myra for 4th mth jab n checkup. She's 6.9kg at 65.5cm.

Doc says she put on 4kg since birth, hence will stop putting on so much. Means her feed time will drag. Quite puzzled, now alreafy 4h interval. Can drag how much more?

BTW, are we suppose to increase their intake of milk? My ger drinks 5oz, abt 140ml. Last feed abt 8oz, 220ml. Should i increase her feed?
 
Mashy, my girl has rashes on her chest n tummy area. PD said most likely it's the lu yi you (chinese ointment)cos that's the only thing I applied on her chest n tummy. After using his rashes cream for 2 weeks, still didnt improve, on n off. Later I found out it's the Mustela non-rinse shower gel. I used it to clean her body n face before bedtime but dun know why she only hv rashes on the particular area. Once stop using it, her skin no more rough n rash. Must find out the cause as soon as possible before it gets worst. good luck!
 
What do you play with your baby now?

I am with Zachary 24/7 and now a bit headache not sure what to play with him. Everyday repeat the same thing until I (maybe him too) very sian.

Swim, sing, read, stretching, talk, play with rattle toys, swing, playgym, cot mobile. Everyday will go to neighbourhood walk for atleast 1 hr and everyweek once will bring him gai gai for about 5hrs. Wish I got the energy and places to go out for 5hrs everyday then won't be so headache what to do at home!!

i dont think he is feeling unwell. maybe teething but he never drools! well, sometimes he blows bubble and some saliva will come out. does it counts as drooling?

maybe u can slowly make a list of items you need to sell away. hehe lucky my hubby is forgetful so he forgot that i need to sell my carter's diaper bag and nursing shawl. i cant make a WTS thread anyway so will wait till I can haha.

how come you didnt move in to your flat for 2 years? rented out? haha really hope this 4-5 month flies!!! Really cannot stand staying at this place. worst than renting room outside and feels like in a jail when they are home.

actually i'm also quite confused. if bb stops putting on weight so quickly n drags feeding interval, does it mean that amt per feed shd increase to get the same total daily intake, or just reduce total intake for the day?

hi, when can i let my boy try de brown rice? he's 17wks old yesterday. but he seems very interested in the food we are eating. eyes will open super big n stare at us, n he drools whenever we eat, plus he gets agitated when we are down to the last bit of food n he still dun get to eat.

can i let him try the brown rice?

my boy is also drooling whenever there's food on the table, whenever I mashed banana for him, he gets too excited &amp; lean forward. i gave him pumpkin soup but he doesn't seem to like it. maybe hv to puree. Ethan doesn't drink water much, i mixed fresh pomegranate juice with water and sip real fast.
 
really? sam shows no interest in our food. He'll look at us eat the same way that he'll look at us do laundry etc.

The PD did say that we will know whether he's ready for solids when he starts to show interest in our food, like wanna eat.. but not sam lor

Thanks for the advice. Am trying to see the cereal out in the market.. wow.. din know there are so many kinds.. with ikan bilis and ginseng somemore... haha.. babies nowadays are so fortunate.. i rem attending pre natal class they say if babies eat ginseng, its harder to zzz...

i will try as much to drink plenty of soups and water.. cos i find that if i drink more soup it will help during the menses period... dun stress ya, supply will come back after menses.. i try to get more rest aso.. but working mah.. so sometimes quite hard..

i find that our bodies are soo amazing... must produce milk.. then wake up at odd hours.. then menses... those guys out there still complain not enuff slp.. think we are SUPERGALs!!
